Ruyi's Royal Love in the Palace is the sequel to Zhen Huan. But both are harem dramas and they can be watched without having to watch the other.
Zhen Huan covers the harem of emperor Yongzheng and in Ruyi, Yongzheng's son, Qianlong, rises to the throne and the story focuses on Ruyi, a consort of his harem.

Both dramas have a similar humor regardless of the fantastic/horror overall theme. In both drama you find yourself trembling in fear one second then the next moment you're laughing out loud.

Honestly when i watched edge of innocence i couldn't help but think about perfect proposal, because both give that really suspenseful, mysterious vibe. Plus, both the leads in both the movies have a very ambiguous relationship and both plots take very unexpected turns. Not your ordinary romances for sure, so if you like that i totally recommend giving it a try !

Both are the only shows where it's interesting from the get go( I was hooked since episode 1 for both which is rare since even popular or hyped shows takes awhile)

Second male lead loves female lead but decides to go for power, however 8th prince is more genuine and likeable while night is more for himself.

Definitely try out both shows if you're into scheming and chemistry where it's oozing out like crazy.
