Both have a strong sense of drama-driven action in them. The scenes are well preformed and the movies keep you on the edge of your seats.

Both are about a strong righteous female characters and their of fighting battles related to work while protecting everyone else. Both actresses are one of the best Kim Hye Soo & Lee Yo Won. Both dramas carry on strong message about work and life and gives importance to the supporting characters as well. Both dramas handle the comedy aspect very well and in both dramas the romance isn't essential but you can still feel it and it's represented in a very mature manner. Highly recommended.

In both the male lead has supernatural abilities that a mysterious enemy is trying to capture them because of. The secondary characters in both share interesting relationships and behaviors and can carry a scene without the two leads present. My amazing boyfriend is more on the comedic side whereas a different kind of pretty man tends to be melodramatic. Both are fun with lots of eye candy.

Both movies are about a girl who is detached from the world and doesn't really give much for anything but herself and her possessions (or so it may seem). They have a chance-encounter and things take a turn, for Lui it being stuck in a weird love-triangle, for Rio it might just be the strange relationship she got herself into not knowing if this is 'it'. They're both kind of indie movies, not your everyday cookies, with a good dash of psychology in them. You shouldn't shy away from some adult themes in both movies.

both are romance dramas set in Shanghai in the 1930s. The plot is similar in some ways where numerous misunderstandings led to a wrong feeling of revenge in the main female character.

The subject matter and plot lines of these have absolutely nothing in common, but both are parodies and I found the tone and humor to be really similar. Comedy is all about personal taste, but if you like yours deadpan and absurd with a touch of suspense and enjoyed Going by the Book you should give Once Upon a Time in Saengchori a try. I find them both pee-your-pants funny.
