I like to compare both main characters and their self absorbed point of view in life. Both films are a book adaptations which depicts depression, suicide, sex, loss and life. It may be a bit slow but the story line, cinematography and acting makes up for it.
All together, both movies are beautifully written, definitely not a waste of time to watch.

A bunch of famous beautiful looking boys and an ordinary girl. one of the boys gets friendsoned while the other(the mean guy) gets the girl. you know all that. ^^
Both films start with the same word LOVE. The only comparison I can make here besides the title is the fact that the main female character are celebrities in their own way and are somehow trying to fill in the void finding true love despite being celebrities.
The plot is very similar - the man and woman work together in order to solve murder cases, one is a genius with poor communication skills.
Both girls practice martial arts and they are very strong; however, The Whirlwind Girl seems to be a bit more serious than Moon River.
