At times I was interested, at times I pretended to be….

That being said, I don’t really know which one dominates ...but it surely wasn’t a bad drama ...even the times I felt things were dragging it never tested my patience. And some reveals were decently good ....

The storyline in a nutshell is about a fated pair sent by heaven to seal a demon who was once god of death and now has lost it, to greed. Our fated pair needs to create a magical vessel (in the form of painting) to trap the demon and save the entire human existence (so fresh ...lol)
No but even if this sounds too cliched it’s actually an interesting one because of demons and the painting as a vessel thing ...

But being honest the cliches did get on my nerves at times (not because they are cliches)...but because they were done in that way ....at one point I literally wanted to yell ...can we actually finish picking peaches ...it’s been half an hour and you’re still not over that, dude come on we have many other things to do you gotta save the entire humanity and here you aren’t willing to get over peaches !

Also it’s somewhat frustrating at times, because we know everything our characters don't know yet, and we're pretty much just waiting for them to discover what's going on.(the first half especially ...wasted a lot of time with the setup ...and still the leads somewhat lack in terms of setup...)

The paintings were really pleasing to see ...so if you expect some artistic stuff here ...then you won’t be disappointed ...the show in the later half doesn’t have many different paintings but the first half definitely had moments where you love the episode even if the story doesn’t progress much in that episode.

Certain times even the well off storyline (which I basically love and is the sole reason I finished this) lacks logic …some things never get explained and that basically drives you nuts …(later ...for people who have watched the drama)

The CGI and cinematography .... decently good ...adds to the supernatural element when required....

The cast do a good job ...even the side characters too ( no one’s annoying and thanks a ton to the writer for that)...I have no complaints ...but ofc I have a special mention to do …
The kid playing tiger goddess ...she’s one talented rookie I’d look forward to her future projects!
And of-course the other veteran actors ...just wow !

SPOILERS…(won’t disclose any major reveal ...just some observations made throughout the show)

Shall we now have a mini rant about how the ML even after being blind notices details better than everyone (I am not saying that’s impossible but it does make for a narrative that seems too convenient ). The FL was a typically emotion driven character with a one track mind; she seems to be unaware of everything when she’s supposedly the main character (not really likable). The typical villain motive ...power(throne) ...so new, so fresh wow (later they do reveal that there’s a bit more ..but then when you have been tortured throughout the show with something like that ...you don’t really care about what more is there ..do you ? )…The SML ...the only character I am attached to ...he falls in love with (?) Guess who ?...and guess what, just because he’s not the destined one (ofc cuz the heaven’s favor ML) just because he did not meet FL in childhood ...just because he treats her well and they have great chemistry...he won’t get the girl ...suffer and die (oh wait, also be called a jerk while you are alive …) ...writer doesn’t care about you ..so please just take all your good qualities and jump in an ocean …(no better not do that cuz no one would care even if you do that...) The king he’s supposed to be a sensible one (ofc bec he’s the king)...can’t really say he acted like one. Also half the time he was just crying over spilled milk instead of doing what he was supposed to. Pretty much nothing happened in 16 eps is what you realize after wasting you time ....

As for one of the most unrealistic things happening in the show is also how SML is better with art than the whole jury panel full of oldies who all their life just worked as painters ...so damn believable, oh yeah !! (divine decryption power to see through FL’s paintings ...or is it the power of love ;) lol )

The one question I always had ,...why ML’s portrait isn’t to be used as a vessel if he’s the one possessed by the demon now ...when the grandpa king was possessed his portrait was the vessel...so now shouldn’t it be ML?

But I must admit...I really like the idea of having a demon and painting as a vessel ...
And overall the show does make for a “decent mediocre drama” (that’s a compliment...no sarcasm involved) ...and just because I was looking for a mediocre show in my watchlist …I think this one was a good bet ..!!
So if you are wondering whether to or not ,then maybe you should give it a chance. with a lot of inconsistencies the show lies in maybe you can try it to see if it fits your taste zone .

Flawed Storytelling, Redeemed by Amazing Performances

The White Olive Tree is one of those dramas that I watched purely for its talented cast and the themes it aimed to explore. If I’m completely honest, the writing left a lot to be desired—it was riddled with bad dialogue and forced situations, often making me roll my eyes. The English dialogue felt tedious; if a drama intends to incorporate a good amount of a foreign language, it would be worthwhile to invest in someone who can ensure its proper use.

However, despite the weak storytelling, there were also highlights, including the romance, the acting, and the OST.

The love story between the two leads was surprisingly engaging, even if some viewers found it too teenage-like. Their initial awkwardness and shy interactions might not be for everyone, but I personally found them endearing. There’s something incredibly sweet about watching two people slowly navigate their feelings, especially when their chemistry is palpable. When they finally got together, it made all the waiting worthwhile.

Another standout element was the acting. Both leads delivered strong performances, and their emotional depth helped elevate the often lackluster script. Chen Zhe Yuan, in particular, was a scene-stealer—not just because of his strong acting but also because he excelled in the most intense, tearful moments. His ability to convey raw emotions made the heavier aspects of the story more compelling.

Liang Jie also delivered a noteworthy performance, providing the perfect balance to Chen Zhe Yuan with her natural charm. While he carried much of the show’s intensity, her portrayal brought a richness that added depth to both her character and the story. Their effortless chemistry made their relationship even more engaging to watch.

Beyond the leads, there were side characters who managed to captivate the audience. Wang Tian Chen as Benjamin and Gu Zi Cheng as Sasin were particularly noteworthy, earning their own dedicated fanbase. They not only complemented their co-stars but also left a lasting impression of their own. Their scenes together provided much-needed moments of levity, which helped balance the drama’s heavier themes. At the same time, their story had many poignant and meaningful moments that brought tears to my eyes.

Speaking of heaviness, The White Olive Tree delves into war and its aftermath, particularly PTSD. The drama focuses on the psychological toll endured by those affected, offering glimpses into the scars and struggles of its characters. While these themes add weight to the story, the execution sometimes feels uneven. Even though there were moments of genuine depth, the storytelling felt superficial, as though the drama was merely skimming the surface of complex issues rather than fully exploring their intricacy and nuance.

Fortunately, the strength of the actors helped bridge this gap. Through their performances, they conveyed the struggles of trauma survivors in a way that the script failed to achieve. Their heartfelt delivery brought authenticity to the characters' pain, making their journeys feel more compelling.

The OST was well-chosen and played a crucial role in enhancing the mood of the scenes, adding an extra layer of emotional depth and immersing the audience further into the story.

Watching this drama was quite a journey—one filled with emotional highs, frustrating lows, and countless tear-jerking moments—but ultimately, it was a rewarding experience. Despite its flaws, the performances and romance kept me invested until the very end. The conclusion was not a fairytale ending, but I was not disappointed. It struck a balance between realism and hope, aligning with my cautiously optimistic wish for the main couple’s fate. It provided enough closure to feel satisfying without being overly idealistic. In a story that explored trauma, love, and resilience, this ending felt appropriate.

Even though the show may not be for everyone, it will likely appeal to those who appreciate excellent performances and its earnest attempt to delve into the lasting repercussions of war. In the end, there was much in the show that I found deeply moving.

Of Gentle Feelings and True Affection: A Tale to Delight the Heart and Enchant the Feelings

I must confess myself entirely governed by the inclinations of the heart when it comes to the subject of Korean dramas. Should a tale so enchant me — if it cause me to sigh with longing, to champion the felicity of the characters, to loathe the villains with untempered zeal, and to yearn most fervently for a romance of tenderness and charm — then, most assuredly, such a drama shall secure a cherished corner in my affections. I am not, by nature, of analytical disposition; I do not dissect performances nor assess the finer points of production. It is the whole, the sentiment, the essence that captivates me. And if the principal romance should stir the gentler parts of my soul, then I confess — my heart is quite entirely won over, without the least hope of recovery.

Head Over Heels ensnared my sensibilities within mere moments of its first episode. I found in Park Seongah a creature of such innocence and ingenuousness, that I could not help but see a portion of myself reflected in her gentle manner. Nay, I envied her. I longed — ardently — to one day know an affection such as hers, kindled in but a single glance at Bae Gyeonuh. Her love was so sincere, so untainted, that I was transported into a reverie, dreaming sweetly of their union.

To witness the blossoming of his regard for her — steadfast, unwavering, and, in time, surpassing even hers in depth — was a source of endless delight. Perhaps it is the influence of my upbringing, steeped as it was in the romantic ideals of fairytales, where noble princes strove valiantly for the happiness of their beloveds, that rendered Gyeonuh’s devotion so very affecting. His every action bespoke his desire to shield Seongah, to ensure her welfare, and I was wholly under the spell of his quiet heroism from the very beginning.

I felt no grievance that the narrative did not extend to the resolution of his familial entanglements. Indeed, I am of the opinion that such individuals were unworthy of his presence, and their exclusion from the tale’s conclusion caused me no dissatisfaction.

The love shared by those two souls awakened in me a longing to one day experience an affection so earnest, so guileless — and, perchance, equally returned.

I have secured the entire drama for my private enjoyment, to preserve it for those occasions when I shall seek the comfort of nostalgia, and to feel once more the delightful tumult of emotions that their romance so exquisitely inspired.

For me, this drama deserves a resounding ten out of ten, for it is no ordinary story that may stir one’s heart to such heights, as did the tender and whimsical love between Seongah and Gyeonuh.

worth the wait, worth the time. a beautiful slice of life drama.

There are more depth to the story of the drama than what some people said. This is a SLICE OF LIFE type of drama, cause life can both slow you down or pull you up anytime anywhere. There winning and losing, there's misunderstanding, chaos and also contemplation of making decision. There are multi aspects of respect, sportmanship, relationship dynamics portrayed. It's not a typical fluffy all giddy and fantasy romance. It's paced with actual life condition. The chemistry? I don't know about others but they surely showed how it is to be awkward, how it is when you're missing someone so dearly, how and why some are afraid of marriage, how they shot emotions from a simple gaze, everything's there on the right pace. It's a healing life type of drama, not too heavy, not too serious. They did amazingg.

Will You Become “ Mad” At This Drama?

It has been said countless times before in the reviews, however, novice screenwriter Ah Kyung’s ‘ Mad For Each Other’ did surprisingly start on a fairly high note. The storyline incorporated the more avant-grade archetype of the ‘ unconventional lovers’ where both leads suffer from mental health issues. ( A tone reminiscent of Rain’s movie ‘ I’m a Cyborg, But That’s Ok’ [2006] .)

‘ Mad For Each Other’ focuses upon Lee Min Kyung( Oh Yeon Seo), a woman suffering from repressed trauma, social anxiety and paranoia as well as her matched “ potential love interest” Noh Hwi Oh( Jung Woo), a suspended cop who suffered from anger management issues. In between the more questionable faeces jokes of the first episode, ‘ Mad For Each Other’ did seem to have a lot of potential towards being an intriguing love story. However the drama slowly began on a downwards slope as a consequence of cataclysmic screenwriting and certain acting performances in later episodes.

This problem became particularly prominent with Min-Kyung. Oh Yeon Seo isn’t entirely a terrible actress, however, her over-the-top expressions and reactions as her onscreen persona can quickly grow tiresome for some viewers.As a character it is understandable that Min-Kyung suffered from low self-esteem and so her journey to developing an “affectionate relationship “ with Hwi Oh was always going to be a rocky road.

However, it was an ineffable screenwriting decision that one minute Min Kyung seemed to be presented as an unfortunate young woman suffering from social anxiety who is trying to get over her trauma , and then later in the same storyline she is dumping Hwi Oh,getting triggered at Hwi Oh trying to help her, running away and then yearning over Hwi Oh once more.

It is understandable that Min-Kyung is supposed to be a flawed character and struggles throughout the drama to make her own moral judgements, however, rather than using previous exposition ( such as Min-Kyung learning self-defence lessons from Hwi Oh) in order to allow this character to develop as an individual or defend herself, the show enforces the stereotype of the “ fickle female lead” into the mixture in order to allow Hwi Oh to become the “ dashing hero”. ( In a montage during the finale which was an unintentional laughable parody of an 80s car chase scene.) There’s an evident difference between low self-esteem, and a lacking of self-respect; something that screenwriter Ah Kyung seemed unable to distinguish between with Min-Kyung as a character.

Oh Yeon Seo’s costar Jung Woo seemed to carry a fairly “ down-to-earth” ambience as his onscreen persona Hwi Oh. However similar to Min-Kyung’s more “turbulent” moments in the drama , Hwi Oh was the epitome of “ writing gone bad”. As it happens it wasn’t necessarily that this character had a” dire” creative setup in the beginning . Hwi Oh ( similar to Min Kyung) showed a gentler side to his cantankerous personality ( such as promising to help Min Kyung with her self-defence lessons)throughout the majority of the drama.‘ Mad For Each Other’ seemed to particularly struggle, however, with Hwi Oh’s intended character development across the show.

Hwi Oh just seemed to raise one question above all; “ how on earth did he pass police academy exams and become a police officer in the first place, when he often allowed dilemmas ( especially the incident with the ex-boyfriend and Min Kyung entering the abandoned building)to boil over?” It’s easy to put together that Hwi Oh is supposed to fit the “ disgraced and renounced cop” archetype because of his short-temper. However it was hardly to truly comprehend what even motivated Hwi Oh to becoming an officer, or even truly understanding why we should feel pity for Hwi Oh over his role in the first place when he often was pretty dumb with his strategies ( case and point with the car chase with the ex-boyfriend) , acting aggressively ( at times) towards Min Kyung and then not thinking to even try putting together concussive evidence and case reports towards Min Kyung’s- ex’s records. This isn’t stating that Hwi Oh should have been the “ police prodigy” archetype, however, even if the show had perhaps delved into something that Hwi Oh had flourished with his job as an officer ( such as fighting or capturing criminals), and then something he struggled with or was mocked by his peers ( his strategies or even just struggling with a desk job), Hwi Oh would have felt been more sympathetic for viewers as the “ flawed cop” trope that the show seemed to struggle to concisely execute.

As far as their relationship is concerned, the best way to describe the pairing between Min Kyung and Hwi Oh is “ flawed for all of the wrong reasons”. Relationships are naturally messy in real life and it did present
a potentially interesting setup to see two unconventional characters, helping to support one another but whilst there were undeniably elements of Hwi Oh and Min Kyung learning to lean upon one another over the course of the drama, their pairing was undeniably oppressive for both parties. Hwi Oh could often been controlling and inflict aggressive conduct ( anger issues or not) towards Min Kyung, whilst Min Kyung often lashed out before neglecting Hwi Oh and then loving him again because it was “ necessary to the plot”. It wouldn’t have been too bad perhaps if the drama had allowed these characters to recognise their mistakes, show remorse or at least acknowledge their wrongdoings, however, the fact that both characters were quick to bury their problems under the sand in order to “ be together”, made this toxic relationship hard to watch for the most part.

Oh boy, then there’s the incomprehensible side characters. On a more positive note ( and against all odds), the occasional appearances of the irksome gossipy residents and Hwi Oh’s police officer peers were arguably more entertaining at times than our main characters. However, then there’s Soo Hyun ( Lee Soo Hyun); the definition of the “ prosaic filler character”. It isn’t inherently that her scenes were “ bad” or “ terrible” and the setup of her character trying to work multiple jobs and aspiring for higher goals , was an intriguing setup. However the show didn’t really give Soo Hyun enough time to really be “ fleshed out” or understand her motivations as a character aside from being the “ girl who pops up on the screen and starts randomly singing just to promote that the actress is an idol singer”.

Also on the sideline of prosaic side characters was the therapist ( who quickly became elusive to the majority of the events of the storyline apart from arguably having the potential to play the most important role), a psycho and then “ Samantha” ( Ahn Woo Yeon). Now, there’s two decisive arguments with “ Samantha” as a character; the positive by an attempted representation of diversity within South-Korean society, the second being distasteful for some viewers through the comedic scenes . Despite covering over more hard-hitting issues such as mental health issues, cyber bullying and transphobia, it seemed as though the drama often struggled to truly convey these messages more profoundly. This isn’t due to the nature of the drama as a “ comedy” but rather the styling it took as a “ lighthearted” show, rather than allowing or pertaining more “ bittersweet” elements to enter the storyline. The ending wasn’t bad per say, just more “ questionable” considering the storyline arc.

It’s establish that this isn’t to concisely rule that “ Mad For Each Other” is a “ terrible” show as some watchers may enjoy the comedic scenes and setups, however, “ Mad For Each Other” is arguably more of a “throwaway” drama - easy to binge-watch and certainly with a fairly catchy OST, but leaving a bitter taste for certain watchers by sporadic plot logic and one-dimensional characters.

I started watching this drama because I read the fantastic reviews people wrote here about it, so I started really exciting, expecting something like Coffee Prince meets the kitchen, but I got something really different.



This is a great drama, the characters are great and I loved that it actually did have a lot about food because a lot of dramas, like You're Beautiful, Only You and Heartstrings are about a certain subject but you never get to actually see the writers exploding that.



The thing that really bothered me about this one that made me not like this drama so much was the female lead. She had no personality whatsoever, always letting everyone push her around, even her love interest. I hate that she was alway "Yes, Chef. Yes, Chef. Chef, chef chef chef..." I mean she never even called him by his real name, no Hyuk Woon ah, or Hyuk Woon ssi, or even Choi Hyun Wook ssi.



Also, for the sake of not spoiling I'll really just say that I hated the REAL reason (not the generic, but the one he says) of why the chef broke up with his previous partner. I don't know of it is just because I'm a hardcore feminist, or simply because I thought he was dumb but I simply hated him.



On the other hand I loved all the kitchen drama, with the main line and the pasta line, Italian vs Korean! It was so funny to see them fight for the most minimum thing, I think all that made the drama funnier to watch and lighter.



In general I really enjoyed this drama, though it isn't one of my favorites

more melodramatic series that didn't stick the landing

Overall: this first episode really hooked me, but similar to most of GMMTV's series, the existing plot would have paced better at fewer episodes and I was especially disappointed at the last 2 episodes. 12 episodes about 45 minutes each. Aired on GMMTV's YouTube channel.

What I Liked
- how the intro notice was blurry to make the viewers feel how Day felt
- the premise was explained/shown well
- sweet moments
- laughed a few times
- enjoyed several of the supportive side characters

Room For Improvement
- pacing was too slow for me, I watched most at 2x speed
- I couldn't get into some of the conflicts because I saw easy(ish) work arounds for most of them
- ep 11 curse/cliche plot point, time jump and a rushed ending
- it felt like Mhok was doing more of the heavy lifting in their relationship and Day's fast change of mind felt unrealistic

The worst season so far

Can we please spend some screen time on someone other than Gwan hee? I thought most of the female cast was ridiculously shallow and most of the men had very little screen time. In the previous seasons I could at least pretend that the cast wanted to find love. S3 is clearly about increasing their follower counts, etc. Everyone was just so fake. The producers clearly wanted more swimsuit time which just made this season feel trashy. I watch Korean dating shows because they tend to be less trashy. Oh well.
I disliked this season so much I'm not looking forward to a season 4.

After watching over 50+ shows and finishing this drama, I can confidently say it just climbed its way to the very top of my list.

Reason why you should watch it:

ROMANCE & CHEMISTRY: I put this here first because for me, watching Korean drama is first and foremost about the heart and soul…they are spectacularly great in depicting this (I watch Western industry films/drama for other stuff but the love and romance I go to K-drama for). This pairing of the two main characters Do Min Joon and Cheon Song Yi (KSH & JJH) is one of the best if not the best on screen couple to date. Their romance unfolds like a baby bud blooming into a most spectacular flora, it’s an absolute joy to witness and completely unforgettable. The journey was poignant, laughable, and angst ridden, an intermingle of two different species pulled off so believably that you feel as if these characters are REAL and not just characters. Let’s talk kisses-there’s like a total of 10 kisses (1 on forehead, 1 on cheek, the rest on lips) in a 21 episodes, that average to like one every other episodes! I can’t recall a show showing this much smooches! (Secret Garden maybe…but not even then)….the kisses start out innocent and keeps getting hotter and hotter each episodes until it reach the most elaborate, heartfelt, swoon-worthy lip-lock at the last episode. But beyond just their kissing chemistry, these two are so natural together it’s sometimes hard to separate them from their characters (and to think one of them is already married in real life!)…from the many longing glances to the most hand-holding in any drama history (I literally lost count of how many times they hold each other's hands, arms linking, front hugs and back hugs, and lounging times in bed!...talk about bed scenes so many of those cute innocent ones too!). And the things they say to each other?? Wow, can you take my breath away anymore? So in this regards, spectacular, Spectacular, SPECTACULAR from beginning to end!

STORYLINE: The storyline is probably one the most tightly written and well executed that I’ve witness to date. There was never a dull moment for me. Every episode was anticipated with abated breathe and every episode not just deliver but outdo my own expectation…one after the next after the next and continually so until the very end. Halfway through the show I was already deeply in love. You generally know the premise of yes an alien gradually fall for the star and figure out how to be with her….it’s a given, just look at the title “My Love From Another Star”…but it’s the journey of getting there that is just so masterfully done. It steers away from most clichés in K-dramas, it doesn’t drag one situation for too long, and it solves issue with realism that doesn’t annoy the heck out of you. To put bluntly, a show about an alien that stranded on earth for over 400 years with a spoiled egotistic superstar with a super-rich chaebol psychotic killer blended together…are you kidding me? BUT IT WORKS! It works so well together that I’m amazed beyond words. Then let’s talk about the emotions this story wrung out of you. I can’t even begin to explain. I’m a tough cookie when it comes to laughing and crying in movies and shows, some shows make me laugh a little here and there and some shows made me shed a tear or two (sometimes bucket loads) but these are far and few in between. MLFAS cracks me up!! If someone were to look at me, they’d thought I’m a lunatic…and the crying? I was able to hold out until the last few episodes which really did me in, I sobbed like a baby and re-watching those same scenes over 4 times still have the same effect. Even though the story of this show may seem melo and dramatic, it actually weaves in so much laughter and lightheartedness that just floored me! I feel that the show really did turn me (and many others) into bi-polar human beings! It can take you from laughter straight to painful hurt, to being scared, to fluttering butterflies in your stomach, and back to laughter again….sometimes within a span of a few minutes and it does it so well, I’m still left flabbergasted. And don’t get me started on how well executed their cliff hangers are. I feel like dying every episode waiting for the new one….those that get to see it straight through now should feel lucky you don’t have to endure this waiting pain, ugh. Let's not forget the Cinematography, that would be another long rant…just know that I LOVE IT!...the special effect is great and even comparable to Western movies! Lastly, I want to mention the creativity of this show…the “self-interview” mode that’s usually in the beginning and the awesome epilogues in each and every episode at the end is very unique and one of kind, it explains and enlighten so, so much! When a story-line is unpredictable for me to guess from the very beginning to the very end, then in my eyes it’s a WINNER!

CASTING/ACTING: The casting for the main lead, I already state is spectacular amazing and I wouldn’t change it for the world. No one else besides KSH & JJH could do the character justice…no one. But beside them all the other casts was picked and executed nicely as well. I loved every single one of them, that’s actually saying a lot because every drama I watch previously there’s one or two or more (and sometimes the main characters themselves) urks me to no end. Everyone seems to have their fair share of lime-light at one point or another even though the show exclusively zoom in a lot on our 2 main leads. The bromance here is one the best I’ve seen as well. One very poignant and heartbreaking, the other hilariously funny! For a second male lead, HK, they really did develop his story quite nicely and the actor definitely step up the plate when it comes time for him to shine….and boy did he shine! I applaud everyone down to even the cameos in this show.

MUSIC: I’m a little conflicted on how to rate this one. I feel I should give it a 10 because frankly before this show comes along, I could care less for the background music in any show….heck I don’t even know what OST means! But after this show, I have downloaded 3 songs and had repeatedly rape my replay button to death. No people, there’s not just the song “My Destiny” so don’t rate it base on just that. My favorite is actually “Hello Goodbye” and “Tears Like Today”…”My Destiny” was good too and some others like “Every Moment of You”, etc…and I also LOVE the remake song KSH (aka Do Min Joon) sings to our character Song Yi called “Promise” in episode 19 in a very special occasion. It’s not an OST but I fell in love with that song immediately. But there were other OST songs that weren’t as mind-blowing so I guess I’ll stick with a 9 on this.

Why some people might not want to watch it or dislike it:

1. The story does not explain everything (including the ending). I guess some people wanted everything spelled out and written in stone, I’m not one of those so I enjoy this aspect. Yes, his alien life and the sci-fi area were not really delved into and explained much but that’s because the story’s focus has always been the trial and tribulation of the relationship between two different species and how they overcome it. If the show try to tackle everything, I’m pretty sure it would have been a hot mess all over the place and would surely lose most of its focus…I’m glad it always kept the aim on the romance and that everything else is just a means to that end…leave some for our deductive reasoning and imagination please!

2. Some might complain of the casting of the two main characters (she’s too old for him?)…if you’re that immature to judge based on age and looks, then yes please do skip this show as you’re not mature enough to handle it.

3. KSH acting was underwhelming? I heard this before and I couldn’t disagree more. People expect him to act like a “human” when he’s actually an “alien”! If you wanted human emotions go watch him in Dream High, Secretly Greatly, TMTETS, etc. I personally loved his innocent depiction when first landed on earth, to harden reserve, staying away from human in a cold, detached manner after 400+ years of jadedness, and then falling in love and feeling that first twig of jealousy, to an all-out consuming love for one woman…beautiful characterization from beginning to end! The subtlety in his emotions reflect off so well from the all-out-there-craziness of SY's emotions that makes it even more hilarious to watch.

4. Some couldn't stand CSY character as the spoiled, bratty, sometimes bitchy and egotistic star profile. Personally, I think she’s THE BEST 4-D character ever introduced to K-Dramaland (and I’m not standing alone in this!). Fierce, Ditzy, Honest, Bold, Loyal, Caring, Childish, Egotistic, Vulnerable, are just a few of the words I would describe her character. Outwardly she’s flawed but she has so many layers about her that it’s a fascination within itself just seeing her changes range from one moment to the next. It’s never been so much fun to look at a character before…and a female character at it! Some arguably would say, “she stole the show!” or “she made the show!” I couldn't agree more, it wouldn't be a masterpiece without her, JJH and her character depiction of Song Yi is the glue that binds all the elements to create one heck of an astounding show....BRAVO!

The Heirs when the cast and trailers where let out it seemed interesting and promising but by the first 3 eps you know it was going down hill. The cast was great and the acting was fine but the story line ... a 10 year old can write a better plot than that.

First off I feel like Kim Woobin's character didn't even get a chance there is hardly any love triangle going on its just Park Shin Hye moving all over the place. I feel like Krystal and Minhyuk love story was cute but they weren't really needed in the cast and Krystal just became PSH friend out of no where. That Rachel girl wasn't needed either she didn't create any drama she was just there. PSH was crying in almost every scene and it was worst than Jandi in BOF.

Anyways the drama was the worst I watched so far even though I loved the cast

This drama has everything you'll love.⭐

From beginning to end, this drama truly delivered. Fresh concepts, great synergy among the cast, amazing music, and just the right amount of comedy without any cringe—plus some of the best actors in recent years. Liu Yu Ning was outstanding and consistently excels in roles like this. I hope we continue to see him in more historical or fantasy dramas.

It’s definitely a rewatch-worthy series because you’ll enjoy yourself from start to finish. The overall concept stands out—just when you think you can predict what’s coming next, the show proves you wrong every time. I’d 100% recommend it to anyone who enjoys a perfect blend of historical romance and comedy.

A 10/10 banger! This one’s officially going on my “never forget” list.

More of the same…

For me, I would say this drama is a little overrated. It’s more of the same type of Xianxia that many of us CDrama watchers have seen many times before. It does have some high points that many shows within this genre doesn’t have.

The Good

Production quality was definitely higher than a lot of Xianxias but by no means perfect. The CGI was more polished, the costumes looked pretty well. I can appreciate that ShenLi did not have a million dangly bits and fake jewels hanging from her. The OST was one of the highlights as the music was very nice. The overall acting was good which I typically expect from an older cast. If this would have been played out by a younger cast, the perception may have not been received well by older watchers due to many younger actors having limited experience in acting. Although this was a serious drama, the comedy was well balanced through out.

The Bad

The plot is typical and predictable. These CDrama Xianxias tend to go through the same cycles and not too many of these stories offer anything new. This story was a character driven plot which they tend to be very slow and at times, not much was happening in most of the episodes. I found myself starting to skip through it towards the end. There were a lot of throwaway episodes that could have shorten this show down to 24 episodes. Although I liked the overall production, the skin smoothing and whitening was overdone and sometimes made them look too unnatural and unrecognizable. I would have also liked to see the actors dub themselves. With more CDramas doing away with dubbing, it’s refreshing to see the actors display their real talent. The credit in this drama goes to the great voice actors who can pull off different emotions in their voices.

I am a fan of the genre and will keep hoping and waiting for a new thrill. This one was average and I likely wouldn’t rewatch it. If you are a fan of the cast, it’s worth checking out. Make your own judgement.

Boring...

This drama focused more on the ml's career as an areospace engineer rather than the romance between the ml and fl. I felt it was more sci fi based with a hint of romance rather than the other way around. The couples relationship felt realistic because of how little time they had for each other, it was an accurate depiction...thats probably why I didnt enjoy it as much.

Spoiler:

The fl liked the ml is hs but he rejected her bcz he felt she wasnt good enough, which he came to regret 10 yrs later after getting to know her, then he felt he wasnt good enough for her and turned her down again. This plus eng shit literally sums up the plot for the first 18 episodes.

They start dating offically in the 21 ish episode I think.

They get togther, bunch of kiss scenes, fl is busy with work, ml is busy with work, they get together on their break, kiss scene - bed scene,
ml is busy with work, fl is busy with work, they get together on their break, kiss scene - bed scene... just a continuation of that along with areospace eng scenes then they get married two years later.
Honestly their romance had zero plot it was soooo boring to watch...felt no excitment at all.

There is a five year time jump (ep 31-32) they are 38 yrs old have NO kid and it ends with a fucking rocket launch!!!...

The story was boring but I really enjoyed dilraba's acting. That and the special effects...the first couple of eps werent too bad either, but it just got really boring when the ml talked about rockets which was literally half the drama!. If you enjoy that kind of stuff I say go for it but I zoned out, my brain wasnt willing to compute.

i dropped it i’m sorry

the show was good at the start, pretty much therapy it was so sweet and silly. until i’m not gonna lie it just got a bit boring… jimmy came in and there was a whole backstory and everytime there was a backstory i just could never be bothered to watch or care about it, it was obviously relevant but it felt like it was dragging a bit. i was on my phone for most of it because it was dragging on and on… tbf i saw a few clips and it turned out to be like quite sad or smth idrk, clearly i had dropped it by then. i’ve got no idea if i’ll ever complete this but it’s really not appealing to me.

it was silly and fun until it just felt like jay kept changing his mind and confusing sant and sant was falling for him but kind of refused to accept it, it just felt like it was never gonna work out especially when jimmy came in… i mean someone can totally prove me wrong and reply and tell me that it gets better but ive had it dropped for so long now, i think i got to like ep 6, started ep 7… kind of tempted to maybe keep going but i think i’d rather just watch something else

i think markohm deserved a better story because i know full well that they’re both incredible actors with lots of chemistry. i love them still but this drama is just not doing it for me

just another fluffy drama

The trailer and the advertisements leading up to this show gave me very high expectations. I like yangyang and reba, they are honestly very good looking which I felt was the thing that gave this show its popularity boost. Acting-wise, it's all fine, no extraordinary emotional scenes or anything but that's not on them, it's on the script.

Do not expect a deep or emotional slice of life type of plot. This is simplicity at its finest, full on fluff for the majority of the episodes. I like that there aren't any ridiculous misunderstandings or annoying exes and the couple communicates well. Plotwise, I felt like there were too many unnecessary romantic scenes which other than satisfying cp fans, serve absolutely no purpose in the storyline. I think they are cute but sometimes, it's really too much. Even yangyang was shocked at the extent they have to go to in the behind the scenes footages. To be honest, the plot is very unrealistic and doesn't fully depict the lives of 30 years olds (even more so for an aerospace engineer and big celebrity) but take it with a pinch of salt that this is meant to be a very fluffy romcom. It's just that with all the anticipation building up for this drama, I expected a LOT more... this wasn't exciting or interesting, just very romantic.

I would recommend this if you're looking for a chill fluffy visual explosion drama that doesn't require thinking. But if you are expecting an intricate plot or emotion laden scenes then this is not for you.
