I have watched a few GMMTV shows in my time, however this one truly is exemplary; a work of art you could say. From the camera work, music, storyline, script, and acting, this is one of GMMTV's best productions.

Though the show does take a slow start with each of the cast getting an episode to explore their character, it is by no means boring. These episodes for each character not only let us connect with the character, but also lays out the ground work for later episodes. I'll let you know now, that as the series progressed; I was edging closer to the end of my seat. There was not a dull moment, and at no time were my eye's not glued to the screen. The music only added to the suspense making it that much more intense.

The acting of the cast is truly incredible. The stand outs for me were Gun and Chimon. Gun's character of Punn really does showcase his 10 years experience with the particular role he has taken on (I would elaborate but no spoilers), while Chimon was a complete slap in the face. I have seen him previously in other dramas, but I have never seen him take on such a serious character before with internal battles. His betrayal of intensity vs vulnerability was exquisite.

Chimon's and Nanon's acting complimented each other well as they played opposite each other a fair amount of time. Their real life friendship and chemistry definitely evident on screen; though they were actually at odds for a fair amount of the show.

Overall I can only sing high praises for the series, I hope more people choose to watch this show. GMMTV is known for their BL series and have a large BL fanbase, but I do hope more people take the time to explore their other shows. The Gifted is such a rare hidden gem that it makes me sad to think that so many people are missing out on such a show. I'm crossing my fingers for a season two since GMM left the ending open to a S2. Let's all wait and hope for the best.

This is one of the old, classic "slow burn" love stories that is so memorable for its intense love, mesmerizing music, and unforgettable pain. At times the story is corny, impossible, repetitive; however the love between Kwan Sang Woo and Choi Ji Woo make it all believable. It is a copy of the hugely successful Winter Sonata that started my K drama obsession.
STH is my favorite drama, after my "happy fix" Autumn's Concerto. The characters were superb. At first I thought Shin Hyun Joon was too old to be cast as the stepbrother, but his acting won me over.
Every minute of this drama is romance, not a lot of silly fillers. So if you like Romance, you won't be disappointed. Warning: you won't be able to get the music or love story out of your head afterwards!

Heart wrenching movie of a father and a son one day reunion after 15 years separation. Since its a sad drama, i thought that it was gonna be slow and dragging. Apparently it wasn't. I love this movie. Especially the acting cast.

Casting: wow!! Cha Seung Won really moved my heart in this movie. I was welling up all my tears till i can't no more. Cha Seung Won really nail it. No wonder he won in 2007 Chunsa Film Art Awards: as BEST ACTOR for this movie.

It's a recommended movie for those who appreciate movie that portray life and society.

"People are awful, drink some beer." -Min Jin Lee

Min Jin Lee’s bestselling novel gets a tantalising adaptation that sweeps back and forth from Korea in 1915 to Japan’s Wall Street era. It’s a rollercoaster ride through time and space.
Just like in the novel, the drama's multi-generational narrative allows this rich history to unfold at a pace that is beguilingly peaceful, opening in a deceptively idyllic coastline setting in Korea, shortly after the Japanese annexing of Korea.
Spanning nearly 100 years and moving from Korea at the start of the 20th century to pre- and postwar Osaka and, finally, Tokyo and Yokohama, the novel reads like a long, intimate hymn to the struggles of people in a foreign land.
It is breathtaking in almost every department. Pachinko the show is just as beautiful as the book on which it's based.
Sunja, the family matriarch, is the only surviving child of Hoonie and Yangjin. She is born in Yeongdo, Korea, around 1916.
The drama genuinely focused on the entire Japanese annexing of Korea along with the other characters.
It showed so many personalities in this drama and so many emotional scenes were shown in the drama.
Sunja became one of my favorite strong female characters that deserve more recognition just like other iconic characters from different dramas.
The drama isn't for everyone and there is a thin border between people liking it and not liking it.
Dive in if you feel like it, you're going to be in for a ride.
'There is nothing fu***** worse than knowing that you are just like everybody else. What a messed up lousy existence." -a quote from the novel.

Cute lesbian romance in a fantasy setting

“There's something I still don’t understand. Can you enlighten me Ms. A-Ze? I don’t know why, but whenever I look at you, my heart starts beating strangely.”

Legend of Yunze is a short series focussing on the developing romance between the cultivator Jiang Zhao Tun and the fairy-like A-Ze. It is also a Xianxia series since it combines the elements of magic and demonic cultivation.

As our protagonists investigate the mysterious evil that has taken over the Changshui Village, they start to fall in love slowly and Jiang Zhao Tun’s experiences teach her that there is an evil inside humans which supercedes that of demons.

In 12 episodes of merely 3 minutes or less, Legend of Yunze manages to cover a lot of ground. For one, the romance is really cute with all the hesitancy and sweetness of first love. The CGI is also commendable, its not over the top but looks better than some Cdramas I have checked out. The actresses bring the characters to life and feel different here as compared to their roles in a previous drama, Legend of Yun Qian. There are some comical moments too which attribute a more light hearted vibe to this series.

Despite being a low cost project, this drama has managed to deliver. 8.5/10.

They let us have this ....

In the original story Ho Tae and Dong Hee had feelings for each other but out of respect for Ho Tae mother, as she loved him and cared for him as her own, Dong Hee didn't want to have a relationship with him. Ho Tae persistently begged for Dong Hee to date him but was constantly rebuffed. They were always friends and for me at least the prequel's ending fit nicely with the sequel beginning. The writers stuck to the backstory details to create the prequel and nothing was changed.

Reason why it fit: After years of not seeing each other they finally meet. Old friends would smile as they remember their connection and the warm feeling they had for each other. As in the prequel Dong Hee still hides his feelings for Ho Tae. Ho Tae keeps forcing him to give him a chance which causes the friction between them. They are no longer boys but men with strong opposing convictions. Frustrated Dong Hee lashes out. This is where Unintentional Love Story begins.

The story was really the growth of both and nothing new was told, just the reason of why Dong Hee left and his return. Ho Tae is as thick mentally as he is insightful. As he understood his feelings for Dong Hee, he knew why he dated the girls. They would never replace the one he wanted at his side. He knew that he was wrong so he gladly took the injuries. Dong Hee ran away to come full circle back to him. Hence the reason Ho Tae told him he was not intouch with his feelings.

The story wasn't new but it felt fresh in its delivery. The moments were realistically light and not bogged down with melodrama. The actors were superb in their roles with great chemistry. What I would have loved to see, was one more episode with another 7 years passing and picking up where Dong Hee says, "Let me have this.", with Ho Tae's arms wrapped around him. Whatever errors (the story lag in 4 and 5, Won Young in the same town and school when he only newly arrived in ULS ) are easily forgiven as it was definitely worth the wait. I'm left wanting more of all four. As a movie this would have worked better than the series. Still very grateful. Rewatch - definitely!

Fair but could be better..

The series is good, and it's nice to see the FL again. I love the height difference between the FL and ML—they somehow have great chemistry and portray their characters well. The ML did justice to his role and executed it impressively. His small, subtle smiles were also adorable.

However, the storyline became a little strange in the middle of the series, particularly in Episode 15. It didn't clearly explain the relationship between the ML and FL—were they just friends, developing mutual feelings, or something else? After a brief infatuation, some scenes felt odd and lacked proper explanation. Their relationship felt like a whirlwind. The ML and FL didn’t have enough time to get to know each other or spend moments together to establish what they truly had. They also didn’t have time to clear things up or express their emotions fully. Perhaps the writers had different ideas regarding that aspect.

Additionally, there were moments when the characters' secrets weren’t explained well. Overall, the series is enjoyable for today's era, but I feel it lacks a stronger storyline that could have clarified important details and made it even more compelling. I could rewatch it at some point, but it wouldn't be one of those series I'd revisit often.

Lastly, I didn’t like the ending. It felt rushed and disconnected from the rest of the story. The last two episodes were fast-forwarded, and the series concluded without properly showing how the ML and FL officially became a couple, no clear development. They talked and kissed, but there was no deeper progression. It was quite disappointing. The part where the ML goes abroad also felt a bit odd.

Watch it for yourself, and you’ll understand what I mean! I just wish the ending had been better.

This drama. THIS drama. Honestly speaking, I only started watching it for Han Ji Min, but ever since the second episode, I have been so emotionally invested in this drama that it's ridiculous. I was really thinking that I was going to get let down, but I didn't. This drama is a lot more about fighting your way through life and never giving up. It's broken my heart and put it right back together again. It almost makes me wish I had lived a life like our main character had, so I could appreciate all the small things in life as he does. It's made me change the way I look at things, and it's so well developed and perfectly paced that it's, for lack of a better way to say it, perfection. The chemistry is unbelievable. I'd watch this drama a million times over if I could.

This drama has a very interesting plot, I accidently stumbled upon this drama when I was on YouTube looking for Chinese dramas to watch. Even though the ending of this drama is..... the storyline is amazing *in MY opinion* and the episodes leading up to the last one. I think everyone should give this drama a try!! The actors and actresses may be newbies but their acting is on point especially Zhang Yu Jian's, he made me crack up in a lot of this scenes because of his facial expressions. I definitely recommend this to anyone that has spare time and that they like some supernatural things and a short amazing drama!!

This is the first ever drama that I ever reviewed and actually wrote (and I watched A LOT of dramas) I just think that this drama can be a BIG hit!! And that they NEED to make a season 2 ASAP!!

A lighthearted take on gender issues

I wasn't sure what I expected of this show, but I enjoyed it immensely. It's mostly fluffy, sweet fun. If you're looking for a cute romance to brighten your day, this is it! However, I also appreciated the handling of different kinds of gender issues in this show. There is the obvious one of Meguru being androgynous and his journey towards sharing his views on beauty and gender with the world was inspiring. However, there are also other gender and sexuality issues that pop up, like should women have to choose between work and family? Are men held to higher standards in the workplace than women are? Is it forgivable to out someone without their consent? Although it was sometimes a little too on the nose, I really enjoyed the lighthearted way the show approached these topics. My review kind of makes it seem like the show is heavy, but really it's the opposite (sometimes it's VERY goofy...which I loved!)

Okay so I have to say that I had great... Amazing expectations for this drama even though it was on the lengthy side with about 50 episodes that were promised and then all out of the blue it was significantly cut down to 26 episodes having everything fast forwarded and not even resolving a lot of relationship and questions.

But other than that the plot was a good ones that wasn't quite like many other that I have watched. The acting cast did amazing jobs portraying the character. The younger cast was amazing but I could just believe that because I did not see the adult cast act as much. The music was adequate and even enjoyable at times but I was more focused on the characters and what was going on.

Overall I would have to say that I would not rewatch this because of those last two episode in which it felt like the director(s) and writer(s) just gave up and crammed everything into this pathetic excuses for closing episodes.

The overall value was originally somewhere between a 9.5-10 but was dropped because of all the unanswered crappy-ness of the ending.

Probably worst show, with best cast.

Common sense gone out the window, Good Plot bad Story, Good Cast Bad Directing. First show I see good people just hurting one another, and demons just watch the stupid show happen. Story does not build up, just forced stupid, senseless scenarios that happen again and again. Dont even know if the producer and writer even read their story. If not for Xu Kai I would have stopped at the dry first few episodes. If you looking for something good, dont watch this show, but if you are just here for the cast .. then its not bad.

This was such a cute romantic drama, it's full of misunderstandings "which is a must" for all Asian Dramas..

Slap Kiss
Crazy Ex
Mother In Laws
Misunderstandings
Another g / b having a crush on the same girl.
Jealousy
arranged marriages
fake marriages

I loved the secretary, his suits lol.. Colourful like Versace style :) I love the little brother Dong Goo, but even his half sister was not really looking after him, he was always with Hyun Tae, like Hyun Tae is his half brother or dad. Needless to say Dong Goo is the cutest little Actor.

Yoo Mi is ashamed of her mother, she was an erotic star (well I 'm watching a Thai Drama, main lady's mother was a prostitute mother is married to main guy's dad and the daughter is not ashamed of her mother, I don't know which is more acceptable, I think I'd feel the same if I was in Yoo Mi's shoes )

The problem with this drama was it was extremely slow, they don't get to anywhere. She's ashamed of her mother, her half brother..

When it comes to the cast Song Ji Eun is a perfect choice for Yoo Mi, as she looks innocent
Sung Hoon is and always be a perfect match for rich, handsome, casanova playboy looking but on the inside it's extremely the opposite chaebol.

Mother hhaah I can't find words to describe the mother Nam Gi Ae she is another actress that is a perfect fit for this type of mother. I believe I have seen her at least in the 6 of dramas I have watched in the last couple of years, maybe more..

I expected to see a little more of their love Jin Wook & Jin Eun, at least I wanted to see getting married but nay...

Until the Secretary meets the kitchen girl tbh I thought he's gay!!

ep 11-12-13 not worth of watching, if you wanna know how it ends although it is not gonna make you happy just watch ep 14 and that's it.

We have not seen why Jin Wook mother left we have not seen him taking Yoo Mi to his mother, or even both of them going to his mother's restaurant. We have not seen much of mother son time.

For a bit I thought Yo Mi's ma gonna flirt and hook Jin Wook's dad but I was wrong but if they made that way it way it'd be quite funny though.

The music was good.

I so wished that the lil bro was their secret love child but he's half bro :((

there are loads of incomplete things wish they make S02 for us.

Some old dramas don't stand the test of time, or live up to all the hype. That is not the case with Coffee Prince. I've just finished marathoning through this classic (again), and I still love it just as much as the first time!

On the surface this is another romance about a girl who pretends to be a boy, and gets away with it, and a spoiled rich guy who falls for her. What makes Coffee Prince different, is that there is so much more depth than is usually in KDrama romances (yes, even the good ones). The themes are more realistic, and the content is more adult. Coffee Prince shows us how extremely complicated love can be, while still being fun to watch.

The cast is perfect. Yoon Eun Hye is the most convincing androgynous character I've seen in any drama. It's more than her just looking enough like a boy, it's her whole demeanor that makes the idea of her being mistaken as male completely plausible. Gong Yoo is charmingly goofy, and instantly crushable (watching this began my minor obsession with him). Equally crushable is Lee Sun Gyun, who I would fall in love with again later in Pasta, but is much more kinder, gentler, and understanding in this role. Then there is Chae Jung Ahn, who is frustrating to watch, and hard to like, but equally brilliant. The chemistry between them all is amazingly acted, and their story is well written. People who aren't fans of romances normally, may appreciate how imperfect this story is. There are also plenty of cute moments to inspire butterflies in die hard romance fans. It also has the most beautiful love confession in the history of dramaland period ! (or rather, exclamation point)

The minor characters are also very well played. I loved the dynamics between the Coffee Princes too! This is the kind of cast that you miss when the show is finally over. I can't believe Lee Eon died shortly after, but he was my favorite of the other "princes".

The only thing mediocre about this drama is the music, which is fine, but I did not rush out to find the soundtrack, even after obsessing over this drama.

The other criticism is that the drama does become a little less engaging in the final episodes, but at that point you will probably love the characters so much that it won't make you love the show any less. The ending wraps things up perfectly in my opinion.

My main reason for writing this review now, even though this was one of the first dramas I ever saw, was to promote it's re-watchability. It also manages to not feel as dated as many dramas tend to be over time. Besides the flip phone technology, this drama could easily be successful today. It's also very timely, concerning issues regarding gender roles and sexuality, which is a hot topic these days. In that respect, maybe it's ahead of it's time.

So, yes, of course I recommend Coffee Prince! It remains high on my drama favorites list, with no signs of being bumped lower any time soon. If this is one of those dramas that you always meant to watch, but never got a chance to, just do it! This is one of those occasions when it is safe to believe the hype!

*warning: not only may you very likely crave coffee while watching, but you may either be tempted to eat everything in your fridge, or be too disgusted to ever eat again, after watching Eun Chan eat!*

Light-hearted Rom-com

Not sure why this drama is rated as low but personally I've seen worst drama that as higher ratings than this. I would describe this drama as a light-hearted romance comedy.

Pros: The leads are visually appealing and the acting is good and the music/soundtracks are memorable. The over-the-top antics of the 2nd leads may or may not appeal to you.
Cons: There are no real depth to the story so if you are looking for some life-changing lessons or etc then this is not the place for you.

Personally, my wife and I enjoyed this very much. Overall, I would say I had a good time watching this and have no regret's on the time spend on this.
