Wow, I am not sure what just happened! Prince Changsha just killed himself?! 😲 The Empress Dowager is revealed to be the mastermind behind the attempt to kill Xiao Wuyi and the Baifu Army? And all of that happens in episode 3?! So.... what do we have the remaining 25 episodes for? 🤯Did Wuyi secretly help Jiayu escape so she would be safe when all the killing and the palace coup happened? 🧐 And was he the one who asked Grand Tutor Xie to get Li Mao to give medical help to the Emperor, so he would be away from the Empress Dowager and Wuyi could use him as a bargaining chip to have a way out of the situation he's left in at the end of the episode? 🤔And I did love Xiao Wuyi — the way he just picked up his bride, jumped with her onto his horse, and then carried her inside his mansion! 🔥 Then he distracted everyone with that drinking party. He's a master strategist, and even if he's funny sometimes, he's actually quite scary! 😬😏P.S. Nice to see Riley Wang working together with Hou Minghao again... This is like the third drama I've seen them in together! 👍

Xin Qi's heart condition issues broke the stalemate and forced Min Hui to care for him and resume being connected with him. Then a key conversation between Min Hui and Cindy not only gave MH a better picture of what XQ's life was like as a child before they met, but also provides a hugely important clarity on just how important both Min Hui and Quanquan are to Xin Qi. That was a really important moment because you could almost see a light go on inside Min Hui. He will never give up on her because he needs her and their son so badly. Later, we get a potentially traumatic scene that turns awesome as Min Hui remembers all the martial arts training they've shown in various gym scenes and shows why she is a true 'strong female lead'. In the aftermath, she finally opens up to Xin Qi about her past trauma from before they met and explains her behavior at the cocktail party back in episode 1.

I am even more in love with our leads! Their dynamic is perfectly chaotic, mischievous and entertaining, reminding me a lot of Ji Bozai and Ming Yi from Yi from LITC, however, a little bit differently than they did it. 🤩 Hou Minghao's usual charm just shines through as always, and I love his gestures and expressions that are always so cute and amusing. He can turn any serious situation into a funny one — like the knife scene in FoF, ep1, for example! 😂I do love the snarky comments of the Xiao Wuyi lieutenants when they have to put up with whatever Wuyi has decided, like going along with the insane "Consort Xie's" plan. 🤭I love how sweet Jiayu's father is towards his daughter — she's clearly a daddy's girl. 🤗 However, I am not sure what to think of her mother. I kind of think she cares and loves her daughter, but then she does something that makes her shady in my eyes — like that secret chat with the guard who had followed Jiayu and protected her all along. Why would she hide that from her husband? 🤨Overall, I am so hooked! I love the dynamics of the leads, the music, the comedy, the chaos, and the seriousness there is. I really look forward to their marriage starting! 😏😍

What an episode. A triple kiss scene. After 11 years apart, they finally let all those emotions out through a kiss. Every second carried the weight of the years they lost, the longing they kept hidden, and the love they never stopped holding onto. It was beautiful, heartbreaking, and so full of pain all at once. My heart broke for everything they had to endure before they could finally be together.

The writers use Xin Qi's heart condition to finally break the stalemate the story had gotten to. That was pretty predictable but forgivable. Still feels like Min Hui's stubbornness is a bit dragged out - but at least the story has a path forward again. Hearing Quanquan imitate his Aunt Cindy's, "Poor Jason!" caps off the episode!

Chasing Love Episode 7 delivers some of Song and Piang's sweetest moments yet, but with only one episode remaining, can the series deliver every emotional payoff it has promised? We break down the adaptation's biggest wins, standout performances from Nile, Namwan, and Gift, the changes from the novel, and why we're increasingly concerned the finale may have more story than time. I like that our FL is quite crafty and mischievous. Just what's needed for such a ruthless general, who lives just for his mission, right? 😈🤭 I am really looking forward for their arranged marriage and to see how they will drive each other crazy, because they are such opposites! 😏And I did love seeing a few recognisable faces among the cast — Peter Ho (from Unchained Love) and Liu Lingzi (from Archives: The Nanyang Mystery). And of course, above all, Hou Minghao, who is the main reason I am watching this! 🥰It also looks like Hou Minghao has taken part in all the OST songs. At least, that's what it sounded like to my ear! 😊
