Strange Tales of Tang Dynasty Episode 9

Lu and Su have joined the mayor for dinner and get reacquainted with chicken Fei. đ XiJun and guard were not there but fed in their quarters. This was actually at XiJunâs request. She wanted to complete a painting of the two overlooking the mountains. XiJun presents gifts for them. Lu is given a sword. He at first rejects it but is talked into accepting it as he no longer has his. I think XiJunâs child guard has Lu pegged right. He is a true master of his craft but he is an arrogant snob. He flatly tells this to Lu.đ I admire his audacity. I want you to teach me martial arts, but Iâm more capable than you in social graces. During the meal Su brings up an old friend he wants to renew ties with. The sad irony is that the funeral procession coming down the road is for his friend. He was part of the four scholars of NanZhou so his companions were part of the procession. A young man stops it to request discipleship from the musician scholar. He would not stop asking so the scholar gave him a curt unfiltered reason. He completely lacked the talent. It was done in a way that embarrassed the young man so he is now plotting revenge. Another man who is a good artist painted a picture of them called the bridge. He had hoped to join them as a fifth scholar but his friend died before he could ask. His painting is sought after by royals but he is reusing its sale. XiJun wants to stay but Lu keeps urging Su to send her home. Now that Lu has been given a temporary ministry job at court he sees it as inappropriate. He likes her, but is ashamed that their initial meeting was him deceiving her by taking anotherâs place. He is such a rule stickler that he doesnât allow himself to enjoy life. He goes from rule to rule keeping things orderly. This gets him into trouble because it exacerbates his arrogance. He mentally assigns people to castes in his mind and keeps them boxed there. He socially treats these boxes with whatever respect they are do in his mind and he never tries to go beyond to make friends or value networking. He even does this with himself not letting himself be seen out of the lowered box status he has been reduced to. This is why he could not easily wrap his brain about a child understanding human behavior by reading. He did not give XiJunâs guard credit for intelligence and growth of capabilities beyond a certain level. The child is already wiser. He refuses to let any class box him in and stifle his potential. Maybe he can teach Lu a few things.đ

This episode had so much raw emotion. I love Jun's emotional explosion. Very realistic and deserved. Great acting by the leads and supporting cast. The episode was well written. Great job creating a believable conflict and relationship arc.

they goofy & cute together, even though there was a rocky moment there at the start - 1st off i get that Nut just wants to put Ball behind him & just ignore his existence, but as the dude went out of his way to get in ur face - why sit quietly? especially when he was bad-mouthing his "ex-gf" i.e U - to ur face & even getting Satha to bad-mouth u, cause he was making u out to be the unreasonable one. be damned the quite / mature way out. i wouldn't be sitting quite & letting anyone run their mouth when i wasn't in the wrong. same with Nut sitting mute, when Pang showed the guys who her new bf was. **********************the way she found out, even if from what she heard she understood that Ball was ur ex & this wasn't planned or that u knew ages ago. still she will feel hurt that u as her friend kept quite. ********************************************************************* but glad that Nut knows to stand-up for himself & there wasn't even a millisecond where he considered Ball's words.

i guess the focus is on the mains & that's why it didn't take much for Jedi to fold & accept Nine. like most of the other side stories/character's, they amounted to nothing - heck they all disappeared. not that it is bothering me as from the start i said there were too many side-character's ***************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************kinda ironic that the one that is ready is Nut, i thought cause of the description that Satha would be the one, who would be ready to admit to himself that he has feelings for Nut. & Nut would be the one getting cold feet. & when they sat in the café & Nut was thanking Satha for making him open up i was cringing so hard wishing Satha didn't break Nut's heart cause he was running scared. am glad that he turned to his female-friend & she told him that he should follow his heart. **********************must say felt like the club-owner is in cahoots with Ball - the way he approached Nut let alone what he said, it felt like he was feeling him out. & then Ball showed his face. thought he would get to Nut through the girl that has disappeared. guess he changed tactic's.

I'm sure alot of people will disagree with me on this, but oh well I am still going to say it...Kim it seems lied, well maybe thats the wrong word, but it's the only one I can think to say. He told Shane "In the end, you have to support your partner right?" Shane did exactly that, where as Kim did not. If he believed that than he wouldn't have join the debate to go against Mon, but he did join, so what dose that say?Yes Kim didn't tell Mon that he likes sports day, that was his choice, but it turn around and not support him after telling Shane that? I don't think was right. Kim should have found someone to take his place in the debate, Mon's mom never should of asked his boyfriend to do it either, that was just so LOW of her bitch ass. I love Kim normally, he's just to cute, but I did not like this... Oh and for Mon to forgive him right away, so what if he texted about it because Mon didn't pick up, that still dose not make it right for Kim to to that. One good thing in this whole part is Kim not being able to read Pann's writing.... It's sad that her handwriting is that bad.... lol Though I don't think it was right of Mon to laugh at Kim for that, I'm not 100% sure if he laughed because he knows his moms handwriting sucks, or because of Kim reading the way he did. Oh a good note, KitShane were so cute together with Shane being there for Kit even if he didn't get Kit's overthinking. And there is the two goofballs of the series Per and Tar, that feeding part was just fun to watch.

Jedi ending up in bed with Nine isn't shocking, their lifestyle of getting blind drunk on the daily is kinda ridiculous, so either ending up in bed with a stranger was a possibility. kinda astonishing it didn't happen until now, especially in Nine's case - dude blind-drunk on the regular. but the fact he already calling Jedi 'husband' is sad but also very unrealistic, the fact that for him that was a good thing doesn't translate to Jedi feeling the same. he was out & proud. idk if Jedi is bi or closeted gay. either way he has only pursued females & suddenly waking up next to a guy & one that has been constantly flirting with him - pretty sure his head is a mess. what Nine needs to do is give him time - not add to the pressure. as it will only make Jedi run the other way.****************************************************************************************************************************************regarding Satha, Nut just shouting what r u doing & letting the guy that beat Satha unconscious was a bit absurd, call the owner do something other then let the guy walk free. that was weird to me. but the fact Nut has fallen is cute - but i have yet to notice Satha confessing or pursuing him, so i didn't get Nut behaving like he had to be sure of his feelings, as if Satha was waiting for an answer.

poor Latte is smitten with Nut, sadly Nut doesn't see him that way. oh well - *******************************************************but didn't see the end turning that dark - those 3 guys were just spoiling for a fight Satha did nothing but sing, other women too were making cow-eyes at him fantasizing he was singing to them. but that doesn't make it true. poor Satha.

The general fights a huge snake. XiJun finally got a dagger in his general directionđ General Lu gets her out and rescues the boy. He hides them in his old room and goes to find sheriff. When he sees the colonel he wants to kill him on sight but the sheriff interferes. They both leave to investigate the story the colonel tells them. After they leave, the colonel and subordinate go to the noblemanâs room to silence him. That one has already awakened elsewhere and may already be silenced.đŹThe sheriff sees he is lying and the boy innocent. The colonel plans an ambush and XiJun hatches a plan with sheriff. She agrees to stay in an upper room with light on. As long as candle is lit â all is well. The sheriff and general leave. The sheriff to get help and find missing woman and the general stays to protect XiJun. The general guards her window all night and she and boy are fine. The sheriff returns with another and deputies. Now two Suâs on the trail.đ XiJun and boy exit the room, but none of the others are seen. Everything is deserted. ?????đ§ This scene was well choreographed. The music adds to the eerie atmosphere. I am most creeped out by the disappearance of the Cui noble. He was arrogant but really only wanted a place to sleep. What happened to him? Dream or reality?

WTH is going on, why all the guys after Nut & Satha?!? like i get Ball - kinda, i guess he is trying to get to Nut via Pang. but who is the new guy & does he have a grudge against Satha? or Nut?!? also one of the guys Nut is tutoring has a crush on him, will that also get complicated?!? didn't expect this to get intriguey...lol

idk why but i had a feeling Ball would target the girl in Nut's close friend group. 1st i thought she was his niece (considering she called him Uncle from the start) but then from Satha's teasing i got that, that was Nut's nickname. still what is Ball's end game?!? Nut not involved with the girl (forgot her name) so he might feel bad for her but it wouldn't wound him - no?!??? ***********************************************************************************************************************************************also Nut was kinda getting tiresome with how prickly he is with Satha, especially after they opened up to each other in the café, his still making disgusted faces when all Satha is doing is being friendly is something i can't understand or like. & then we got that scene where Satha tries to teach Nut to play basketball OMG that was hilarious

what is Ball's deal - i get he would be back, considering how he took Nut's disappearing act. but he now gonna target Satha cause??? he thinks Nut is interested in him or cause he saw that Satha was interested in Nut?!?? didn't quite get that scene & the translation didn't help.

this is the 1st time i am happy that the ep's r short. it prevents me from getting too bored cause there so many side character's & everyone's gotta get their screen time. which when funny is fine, but on a whole it's a bit cringe. like i really don't like Alice, she doesn't want to confess 1st cause that isn't something girls do, but running after Satha all the time is better?!? **************am happy Satha & Nut finally talked civilly, Nut really has no reason to be this prickly when communicating with Satha, i get the instant dislike cause he reminds him too much of his player ex. but why start beef when u have so much on ur plate?!?***************************************************************************************************************************************************i like Jedi, like i like a few side-character's but when u have so many side-character's no one really get's to shine. wish this BL focused on the mains & one side character - or just this was written with more structure, this just a mish-mash that isn't awakening me curiosity about anyone.
