Gun and Pond in the same is something I didn't know I needed

The acting is amazing and I especially have a soft spot for Ozone and Day. These roles are perfect for Gun and Pond, the way they bring the characters to life and make you feel so connected to them is amazing - epecially Gun as Ozone, for me personally this is the best acting I've in 2025 so far - this man deserves an award.💖Also every episode so far has left me om the edge of my seat, hopefully I don't fall off before we get episode 7 next week.

Beishan

Beishan is now the name of Spirit-Master kingdom. A spirit alliance has also been formed. Snow fox is not impressed nor wants part of it. Seems ShiJi gave him some extra power that she now wants back. The miserable demon presented the knife to HongHong saying there would be more. The city was in an uproar and Kuan literally parted them. 😆 it is sad the princess won’t rule with him but he is perfect for the role. The tree is growing stronger and so has HongHong. Jin RenFeng is now looking into refining spirit cores so the damned forge is the next thing to go. He knows he is hanging on to Fire Villa by a thread, but it was never truly his. It is becoming more and more obvious how incapable he is. Without talismans his bullying ways don’t conjure the same dread and fear. YueChu is trying so hard to woo HongHong. Even the flower girls know more than he does. đŸ€ŁYaYa and RongRong are trying to get him introduced to women so they are bullying him into opening a rouge shop in human market. Drunkard elder is showing his disapproval of a match with a human since she is the chief.😝 Hong Hong studying the mask and inserting herself to help with shop are interesting asides from her. She may have to confess soon or risk losing him. She now has confirmation that tree approves because BuTai’s soul was saved for them to meet in the future. I am curious why that wasn’t mentioned to Kuan. It is satisfying to see the less than stellar villains so weakened and disturbing that snow fox still has violence on his mind. It is clear he doesn’t consider his vengeance on humans over.

Talisman destroyed

Waited a long time for the end of those damn talismans. YueChu and BuTai figured out how to destroy the mother talisman. It nearly killed them all but was successful. ShiJi was beaten again but ran away while she could escape. RenFeng still deals with sand poisoning. Funny that he could lose ‘his’ blood with a paper cut. Too bad this group doesn’t know that. The Alliance wants to judge him but can’t just yet. He has the ShiJi aliving and she is in the wind. Interesting that RongRong got a flower. Lai is falling for YaYa and YueChu now knows HongHong likes him. Everything was beautiful for a minute. Snow Fox really is the best villain. He has made himself heinous with a single move. His justice against humans was killing the Princess. ShiJi takes the credit, but it wasn’t her idea. Kuan is now Emperor of the kingdom but no clue how the Princess’ death is going to change him. His loyalty was always to her
singularly. His compass is true but will he have one in a world without her in it? This drama takes a lot of hits for battles not being as flashy as Love in Pavilion. While this is true, the story is told and paced well if you have the context of prequel first. This battle at Spirit-Master city was well done. Kuan holding his own for such a long time and the combined efforts to destroy that miserable stone that enslaved a species. The cast and production did an excellent job. This episode was powerful and moving. It showed everything that is right and wrong with the coexisting of humans and spirits.

Appealing

What a great way to deal with such acontroversial issue. The mls are all so good. They are each so different but so compatible. It is fun watching each one explore and confront their individual issues.

The tension is real!

We see a bit of a backstory and the hate our Wei Shao is carrying. Then the beauty of our Qiao. This woman can act so so fine. And LYN is doing so well too! From the first ep, I can feel the sparks already!

The dread is real

After fun and joy of ep. 5 the show returns to its roots - and returns in full force. You can feel how abandoned the main characters are, left on their own with a problem which is hard to explain to anyone else and remains a mystery even to those affected by it. The whole production team, not just the cast, did a splendid job creating a world in which the main characters seem alone (even though they are surrounded by other people), desperately fighting a faceless danger which slowly creeps towards them. A perfectly suffocating feeling.

Finding a secret

The snow fox has figured out Lai’s identity and has told ShiJi about impending wedding of YueChu And BuTai. He is quite resourceful. Ironic that they accuse humans of planning way of escape when that is what they are best at😝 The princess has found a possible way to get rid of mother talisman. But it requires a royal wedding to get access to where it is hidden. Both must be human because spirits will die upon entering ancestral hall. YueChu has questioned HongHong quite thoroughly and with memories of Qi and confirmation of Princess, he has every reason to believe she loved Luo and not him. He has given ten years of life to keep Luo’s soul healthy even if he dies. Kian is also hurt because he can’t imagine her loving him but he does dare to hope. ShiJi knows her grip on Kuan is lessened if she doesn’t have Princess to hold over his head. Sometimes I really wish YaYa would just shut the hell up.😝 If she would let her eyes see she would sense something else is up. Instead she prattles on thinking she is helping. HongHong at least saw his eyes before door closed and knows his feelings haven’t changed. She knows where RenFeng is going to attack and now to see how Kuan helps or hurts city once battle starts. I am hoping they find the secret in that hall after hurting the ones they love this much.

Battle plans

The snow fox has his revenge on XuYi. I could not feel too much sorrow at his fate because who knows how many he has branded and mistreated. However, this seems to be just the beginning for snow fox
he shares ShiJi’s vision of ridding Spirit-master kingdom of humans. I am glad that he killed one she had many more plans for. Jin RenFeng has managed to place himself well with Alliance. That they are so easily duped is disheartening. But Jin RenFeng manages to land on his feet and like cockroach survives when he shouldn’t. Snow fox is caught listening by Lai. Lai knows something is up but he waits to see where Snow Fox’s loyalties really are. I am glad they are figuring out way to destroy mother talisman. This object shouldn’t even exist. This is what allows the Jin RenFengs and ShiJis to take unmerited control. Neither one could actually earn it. Neither are willing to go through the work and discipline involved to actually lead. She runs on emotion of hatred and he on fear and bullying. They are cowards at base as their own survival far outweighs any ‘cause’ they seem to support. It is sweet how YueChu looks after HongHong with cooking. Her face when he said she was only one he would cook for. 😁YaYa is so obtuse about what is right in front of her. With her sister and with Lai. Rong Rong is the most astute sister about what is going on with things. YueChu gives HongHong a chicken to hide from sis and it seems like the extra Qi in him is starting to cause trouble. Things do not bode well for ShiKuan, but I am hoping he can circumvent ShiJi’s plans for Spiri-Master kingdom. The princess has done first important thing. She has removed the talismans’ hold over the spirits in city. This will put pressure on ShiJi for not. Like RenFeng she rules through fear which will not instill loyalty.

Best cure for hiccupsđŸ„°

‘Looking for me?” Best line after bomb scare. That teary eyed look of relief said it all. He is still giving her a bit of hard time but he wants to know what happened. His father is going to get surgery so he knows he will be seeing more of Lu Yan. There is history of bad news so he understands his mom’s fear. At the wedding two other ‘friends’ show up Ding Jing and Wen Peng. They have their own attachments to Cheng Yi and Lu Yan.😝 The wedding was beautiful and there is a nice flashback to ChengYi proposing before getting to police academy. Lu Yan says she knows cure for hiccups. 😂 He sees it requires a bit more to cure them. As they glance at each other in wedding party, their wannabe love interests are staring from audience. ChengYi did an excellent job with lipstick comment in elevator and pushing Wen aside for photo😆 Cheng Yi is making it clear he gets first try for Lu Yan’s attention.

Surprise meeting

Lu Yan is an anesthesiologist who is doing rather well in her career. She is invited by Dr Han to evaluate a patient with a benign tumor that requires surgery because of location. She has all the case history and is ready to make a presentation to the family when she sees her ex boyfriend (Cheng Yi) from 8 yrs ago. What strikes me as interesting is that the mom had no idea she and son were acquainted. The family declines the surgery and she is asked by the doctor to talk the family into the surgery. That was not an option for her as the opportunity was taken away by other distractions. Flashbacks reveal she is the one that broke off the relationship. She also finds out from a mutual friend that she and ex will both be at an upcoming wedding. The next day a wounded man collapses in hospital entry with a bomb attached. Her ex turns out to be a detective and finds himself drafted to defuse bomb because of his prior work experience. Lu Yan volunteers to assist with surgery because it’s her regular shift. So now a doctor is handling spleen while detective is handling bomb. Surgery went well and medical staff leaves til bomb removed to close up patient. Lu Yan stays because her job is to monitor patient. The excitement continues when they both get to simultaneously cut two wires. Bomb is safely detonated outside and the exes get to ensure each other is safe. We are not told why the breakup but it’s clear they both have feelings. If he had any doubts of her job capability, she proved herself brilliantly assisting with bomb patient.

question, so Mark being sick - no sense of…

question, so Mark being sick - no sense of smell & taste, yet he wants to kiss Tong, showing he is attracted to Tong & it isn't just his blood. but(?) his blood, sweat & saliva is still unique & has the ability to effect vampires. so why didn't it trigger Mark on a chemical level ?!?? just me wondering... or i miss something?!? **************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************btw Mark is back to being Tong's bodyguard & Mrs Thara is nowhere to be seen. didn't she tell him to stay away from Tong? what changed?!? **************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************Goss's body is great & all, but personally i rather see a man (no matter his body type) in what Fluke (all the other guys) was/were wearing, that's hotter IMO. btw all the deciding on which speedo to go with & then Mark sits on the beach fully clothed - what?? lol GMM setting thirst traps left & right... ******************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************cute ending & all, but must say i couldn't enjoy it given the fact that Nakan might have Tonkla in his clutches. i get Tong being shaken-up after the encounter with the kid. but given what happened, both he & Mark knew that Nakan wasn't just close by but he targeted Tong for a reason - to find out if he was the golden blood. & what do these two do, sit around; one throwing himself a pity party, the other holding his hand. while i get this, i also feel angry cause it was time for action not inaction. they both knew that Nakan had approached Tonkla not once but twice & instead of making sure he is safe, they just abandoned him ?!? they didn't even bother to warn him about anything so he happily drank the "special" wine... this annoying cause Tonkla an innocent bystander that deserves better for a friend that is more like family.

interesting start!

the thing i liked about myung soohyun dramas is that in most of her dramas (monthly magazine home, drinking solo, a poem a day) there would a slice of life component with a central "theme" to each episode, usually driven by not just the story of the main leads but also the stories of the side characters. it added a poetic element to each episode, something to tie up the message that we all go through similar struggles, whether that be in terms of finding a home (MMH), finding a reason to relish in aloneness (DS), or finding art that reflects your feelings (APAD).interestingly, i don't immediately see this particular component in Extremely Sensible Alcoholic. this drama also stands out because MSH doesn't usually write second-chance romance or childhood/high school connection, so it seems she is taking a new approach to her writing. even though there are some differences, I can still feel the heavy slice of life component that this drama will be driven on, there are many side characters that will definitely push the story forward, similar to the stories of the villagers in hometown cha cha cha.I am enjoying it so far, because it's fresh but also seems familiar since I'm such a big fan of this screenwriter. I am looking forward to a wonderful healing journey between the leads filled with warming stories of our side characters and familial themes. hopefully we can also get a ha seok jin cameo lol, this drama is quite the antithesis to drinking solo.

O clichĂȘ do episĂłdio bĂȘbada.
