What is this movie?!???? Its definitely not Orv
This movie is just disappointing and a disgrace to the author who put a lot of work in their novel like how can you change everything about ORV and call it ORV like no??!, changing the important things that makes it ORV and call it a day no?? ORV has such a good story that why we love this story they are just using the characters names and making it their own thats not ORV if you r going to watch this movie just don't. just read the novel instead or the manhwa but this is unacceptable. Was this review helpful to you?
I'm ORV fan
Bruh wdym Lee Jihye holding gun, Yoo Joonghyuk not grabbing Kim Dokja by the neck, Kim Dokja hating on WOS, Kim Dokja is not a reader, Kim Dokja hating on Yoo Joonghyuk, Kim Dokja writing the epilogue himself, Jung Heewon is the main character, no Biyoo, Yoo SangAh is a healer, Lee SooKyung relying on Kim Dokja, Kim Dokja is ordinary, Bihyung is labubu or Doraemon, Kim Dokja saving Kim Namwoon, no deus ex machina, Kim Dokja killing a kid back when he was bullied, no Broken Faith but a core instead ❓ 这部电影像是狗做出的一样,人不会这么做。T sẽ ở dưới gầm giường ông nào sửa nát nguyên tác ~MỗI đÊm~ 🤡 hãy tận hưởng đc ải chỉa suốt đời nhé broWas this review helpful to you?

Touching story, worth to watch ⚠️ contain spoiler
It’s my first time writing a review because no one seems to does it, and this movie truly deserves more attention. I started watching for Karry Wang, but the young actor did a great job too. Both of them convey their emotions beautifully, especially Karry Wang—his eyes say everything, and he delivers a subtle yet impactful performance. Definitely worth a watch.Life is hard, and some people really have no choice but to live the way Ma Liang does (though it’s not an excuse to do it anyway, and I appreciate that this movie doesn’t try to whitewash it but simply shows why he has to live like that). Ma Liang is trapped in a cycle of poverty, doing illegal jobs to survive, yet he still protects the small kindness in his heart. I love how, even while walking such a thorny road, he never wants Xuanxuan to follow the same path as him. Their relationship starts from a place of caution but gradually grows into something deeply tender. Even when the world gives him nothing, Ma Liang still chooses to give warmth to the little kid, who slowly finds his way into Ma Liang’s heart. Ma Liang himself never found a good adult to rely on, but he surely knows how to be one.
Their acting is so good that it feels natural watching their simple daily life. So simple, yet so genuine and filled with unspoken trust between them. Although some parts of the movie move at a slower pace, it never affected my view enough to lower my rating because the overall story is so beautiful, and every quiet moment matters. Even the supporting character gang, despite their limited screen time, have well-written relationships that add depth to the story.
⸻
⚠️ Below here are some touching moment that I love. It contains spoilers, so beware:
The part when Ma Liang sings a lullaby to Xuanxuan is so sad; his voice genuinely broke my heart. And it’s the first time seeing him so vulnerable. He has to act as an older brother here, but the truth is he’s also a teenager that not much older than Xuanxuan and have to live such a hard life.
And the last scene—god, the last scene—must have been a very hard decision for Ma Liang, but he still chose to do it for Xuanxuan’s sake. The scene where he crouches down to tie Xuanxuan’s shoes at school is so heartwarming and heartbreaking at the same times, because Ma Liang still smiling gently, giving the boy the freedom he deserves, even if he’s about to cut off his own freedom. Like I said before, Karry Wang’s eyes truly say everything.
Love this story, super beautiful.

BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT!
as an original orv fan, this is such a disappointment. it’s not that orv fans hate your faves — it’s just that the way the director RUINED the original work (the novel) is beyond frustrating. HE RUINED THE WHOLE LORE OF ORV. we’re angry because this adaptation completely disrespects the heart of the story and characters. i said what i said, COMPLETELY!i’m sorry, but this is one of the worst adaptations i’ve ever seen. it’s NOT THE REAL omniscient reader’s viewpoint.

DON'T WATCH IT
Don't watch it... Cheap ahh cgi and lol probably spent more on the actors rather than actual output of this adaptation. I'm not hating the actors or anything (even though some characters they're portraying is wayyyyyyyyy of from what they're depicted on the novel) I'm just pissed at the director for butchering OUR(THE FANS) novel. Was this review helpful to you?
not worth the watch even as a standalone movie.
From the beginning we knew that they would screw up the adaptation and won't be faithful to the original novel. But they didn't even try to make it look or sound good. The script? Terrible.
The graphics? Cheap.
The plot/story? It's all over the place.
The acting? Awkward.
Even as a standalone movie they didn't bother to even try to explain the story's universe/setting. It will be so damn confusing to anyone who watches it.
If you wanted a cool action movie, atleast do it properly. This is just a poorly executed nonsense. Wouldn't recommend at all. If you are actually interested maybe give the original novel a try cause this story is one of the best fiction ever.

Just read the novel instead.
This movie has changed and disrespected the original source material to the point where it's completely unrecognizable, from the little details to the overall messages and symbolism that ORV tried to convey, everything had been completely butchered. As an adaptation, it fails in every aspect. As a movie, the cinematography is amateurish, the script sounds AI generated, the CGI is a joke, and some actors with major supporting roles are just completely sidelined for no particular reason; it's underwhelming, to say the least. This isn't a matter of an "accurate adaptation" anymore. This is setting a precedence for future adaptations to completely mess up a beloved story by removing all the aspects that make it good in the first place. ORV isn't loved because it's a generic male power fantasy, it's loved because the story subverts this. By stripping away everything to adhere to the general audience's expectations, there won't be anything left to love. There is genuinely so many things wrong with this movie from the erasure of Korean history to even misogyny (which wouldn't be noticed if viewers don't know the original story).
ORV is a love letter for its readers, but this movie spat on it, tore it with a paper shredder, stomped on it repeatedly, burned it, and threw the ashes into the ocean.

CASH GRAB ADAPTATION
I don't understand why korean production like to ruined everything from original work. You can tell this is just purely cash grab. I understand if they cut some parts or change some character designs but to the point changing unnecessary thing that should not be changed? WHY? All the females characters got misogyny treatments. Chae soobin's character supposed to be someone who is promoted in her job but in the movie they make her resigned? Then Nana's character changed backstory too. How can you make the main character who was bullied to someone who bully others 😭. Such a disappointment.I hope the actor fans be open-minded at how bad this script is because it's farrr from the original story.

WORST ADAPTION
I’m honestly disappointed with what’s supposed to be an “adaptation.” This version completely strips away the soul of the original work. Watching Kim Dokja lose all his presence and depth was exhausting, and it’s hard to believe the production team even glanced at the source material. If this is what you call an adaptation, then honestly, even Wattpad fanfictions have done a better job respecting the core of Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint.Let’s talk about the inconsistencies. The Kim Dokja portrayed here feels like a stranger. He would never say “this novel is the worst”—that line alone already betrays his entire worldview. And what’s with the firearms? Both Kim Dokja and Yoo Joonghyuk have extensive knowledge of their world; they would absolutely know better than to use weapons that don’t work.
And one very important trait: Kim Dokja doesn't save people out of kindness. He saves them if, and only if, they serve a purpose in his plan. That’s who he is—calculated, practical, and always thinking several steps ahead.
All these overlooked details make the story feel like a shallow shell of what it could’ve been. It’s not just about “changing things for the screen” it’s about losing the essence that made the original story powerful.

girl what is this
Girl… where do I even start? “I Would Rather Kill You” really had the aesthetic, the moody lighting, the steamy stares — but that’s literally it. It tried so hard to be dark and sexy but ended up feeling like a Wattpad fanfic with a K-drama filter and zero plot. Like... who greenlit this? The actors actually ate with what they were given — I’ll give them that. They served intensity, mystery, tension — but for what? There was no story to carry it. Just scenes of almost-hookups, dramatic breathing, and the occasional "deep" line that felt like it was pulled from a Tumblr post circa 2012.
It kept teasing like something big was gonna happen, and I was patient, okay? I really gave it a chance. But by the end I was like, “That’s it?” No climax (pun very much intended), no twist, no real conflict — just vibes and thirst. It’s basically soft porn that’s too shy to commit. No plot, just pouty lips and prolonged eye contact.
It wanted to be edgy and psychological, but it’s giving aesthetic over substance. It had all the ingredients for something spicy and intense, but forgot the actual recipe.
Watch it if you’re bored and just want background noise with pretty people fake-panting in slow motion. Otherwise? Girl, don’t waste your time.

LA that sit on same table as AOT LA and Drangon Ball LA
I’m SCREAMING. WTF is this?! It'd like the director read half the source material, said “nah,” and decided to yeet the soul of sNs masterpiece into the void. They changed SO MUCH, and I’m not okay! Kim Dokja deserves better, and this mess is sitting at the same cursed table as the Attack on Titan and Dragon Ball Evolution LA!! Let’s talk about how they fumbled this bag and why it’s giving the same vibes as those other disasters.First off, WHY THE HELL are they giving everyone GUNS?! Like, are you kidding me? They’re out here handing Hee Won daggers like she’s in an Avengers flick and giving Lee Hyeon-seong some high-tech gauntlet nonsense. And don’t get me started on Yoo Joonghyuk’s sword looking like it was forged in a sci-fi lab. This ain’t the apocalyptic struggle we signed up for! It’s like they saw the Attack on Titan live-action films and thought Let’s copy their homework and make it flashy but soulless. This is not My ORV!!!!!Was this review helpful to you?
"Omniscient Reader: The Prophecy" is a must-watch
"Omniscient Reader: The Prophecy" explodes onto the screen with a thrilling mix of mind-bending storytelling and emotional weight, adapted brilliantly from the beloved webnovel. Set in a post-apocalyptic world where reality mirrors a web novel, the story follows Dokja—an ordinary reader—who suddenly becomes the sole person who knows the full plot of the unfolding world-destroying scenario. The film balances high-stakes action and deep character development. Each scene keeps you at the edge of your seat, while layered themes of survival, sacrifice, and the blurred line between fiction and fate pull you in further. The visuals are stunning, the pacing is tight, and the writing does justice to the source material.
Ahn Hyo‑seop anchors the story as the emotionally conflicted reader-prophet with subtle strength.
Lee Min‑ho makes his much-anticipated cinematic return with a layered and commanding presence.
Chae Soo‑bin portrays Sang‑ah’s metamorphosis with grace and quiet power.
Shin Seung‑ho offers grounded sincerity as the group’s protector.
Nana embodies righteous defiance in Jung Hee‑won, making her warrior quietly unforgettable.
Kwon Eun‑seong touches the heart as the boy with hidden strength.
Park Ho‑san and Choi Young‑joon elevate the film’s tension through their commanding antagonistic roles.
As for Jisoo, she absolutely shines in her role, bringing fierce intensity and subtle emotional nuance to her character. She’s not just captivating—she owns every frame she’s in. Jisoo’s performance adds a grounded humanity amidst all the chaos, and her ability to convey strength and vulnerability simultaneously is nothing short of phenomenal. It's clear she’s evolving into a top-tier actress, and this role cements her as a powerful presence in both K-drama and film.

Discomfort, uneasiness that lingers.
Definitely not for everyone. But it hooked me and I'm looking forward to them in next part.don’t even know what I’m feeling. This film was messy, unsettling, emotionally cold and hot all at once — and I'm somehow completely hooked.”
Why it lands hard:
A taboo teacher–student dynamic packed with power imbalance and emotional manipulation that never softens.
The teacher clings to the student for years, even after being fired. The student drifts along, detached, yet pulled in. Toxic? Yes. Magnetic? Definitely.
At least half the film centers on raw, emotionally numbing sex—not intimacy or passion. It’s disturbing, but contextually fitting for what the characters are: empty, stuck, unresolved.
What stands out:
The acting is powerful—especially the student (who might be in Grand Guignol). His deadpan yet emotionally intense performance carried scenes that had no dialogue but screamed.
There’s almost no character development—only emotional stasis that intensifies the unease.
An omnipresent dread lingers: the weight of “something bad is coming” hovers. The story doesn’t resolve cleanly, and the ending leaves you with questions instead of solace.
Final verdict: A haunting, unforgettable cinematic experience. It offers no comfort. It offers no redemption. And maybe that’s the point.

From junk collector to escort services in a club
The plot was slow moving and the music was overwhelming at times but the story was there if you take the time to watch. A sad narrative on the life of a young woman who collects junk to recycle for a living. Real life is simple and exciting for our star until she gets pregnant. Unable to handle the stress and responsibilities of motherhood she turns to a brothel where they help her eliminate the pregnancy. She thrives as an escort after struggling with the first encounter. The nudity and all that goes with it is not that enticing to be honest but it does portray the impact of the struggle. Was this review helpful to you?
