cheesy character development but good
I will start thios review by saying that i just found out that this is an adaptation of a manga after having finished the entire film. I found it while browsing bl films and went in blind. I will say this that i will def be going in and reading that manga now that is how i feel about this one. I t does get a bit cheesy at points, but cheesy can also be good. The cheesiness is not the bad kind you know what that bad type is where you cringe this is more heartfelt and honest; and since that this film mainly focuses on an adult relationship, with all that implies. All the ups and downs, the parallels between Togawa who is very open about his feelings and Shima who isnt really that open yet. In essences we watch two people grow closer as they face their deepest insecurities. There could def be some areas that could be dealt with more but for what is it I enjoyed it for the horu and a half it runs.Was this review helpful to you?
bittersweet memories
It tells the story of a girl who has developed anterograde amnesia following an accident whose memory now resets every day to before the event. She meets a boy, with a terminal heart condition (unbeknownst to her) and falls in love.The film is a warm and tender watch, one that leaves us rather emotionally exhausted by the terrible hand that these two characters have been dealt. The love story stays with you long after the runtime, and its portrayals of love and loss are quite impactful due to the nature of the situations that unfold. It’s a tender and relatable affair that leaves viewers to delve into the bottom of difficult emotions, and one can’t do so without shedding a tear or two.
Choo Young-woo and Shin Si-ah do a commendable job bringing their characters to life. You begin rooting for them early in the film. Their chemistry is the perfect demonstration of the slightly awkward, altogether irresistible teenage love

Very creative but also very weak
Weak. Probably the worse zombie movie I've ever watched. Korean movies have this thing where they put all their stats into production and not story. It's espeicially obvious in thrillers and horror. Hyeon Seok rampage for his sister came off way too strong and it would have worked if he was the only main character and the main focus. Like some john wick shi. That felt more like it was his girl bruh.They got rid of characters why too easily also, which I didnt expect for a TWO hour movie. They had 2 hours so why rush. There was no reason to emotionlessly dump everyone in the first half. They could have just wrote less characters. Yeong Cheol was written too flat. Which was definitely a choice. His death felt so anticlimactic. I mean the guy literally just drops on the floor. Also I knew that clique ending was coming.
I applaud them for being creative though.

Happiness is something anyone can have.
It's really difficult to put into words just how much this film means to me as a queer person. The way the story was told and how accurately it showed how internalized homophobia can make a person believe certain things about themselves was seriously just outstanding.Other than the complicated mess inside my head when it comes to that, I just want to talk about in general how beautifully written this film was.
I really found myself enjoying how each character's perspective was showed, and how the story was told to make you think things about characters and the situation before slowly discovering the truth. The pacing was amazing, the scenery and acting was on-point and everything really stuck with me.
I cannot hear trumpets playing without thinking of that one scene, and it breaks me apart all over again.
Guys, seriously, if you're considering watching this movie, PLEASE do! It has impacted me in so many ways, and it was truely just a 10/10 watch.

Watch this for my Alphabet challenge. Let’s discuss drama…The story is about Kazuki’s family. The story begins following the divorce of Kazuki and his wife, which leaves 15-year-old Kouki living with his father during a crucial transition period in his life.
Struggling with emotional strain and self-doubt after failing his high school entrance exams on his first attempt, Kouki feels adrift. When he finally gets accepted into a high school a year later, Kazuki wants to support his son and make up for lost time.
Together, they make a pact: Kouki promises to attend school every single day without skipping, and Kazuki promises to make him a homemade bento box for lunch every day throughout his three years of high school—totaling 461 school days.
Despite his demanding musician lifestyle, late-night gigs, and lack of initial culinary expertise, Kazuki stays dedicated to his promise. Every morning, he wakes up early to design, cook, and pack creative, balanced meals. As Kouki takes these bentos to school, the colorful lunches attract the curiosity of his classmates, breaking the ice and helping the introverted teenager make lasting friends. Although this can be a little bit boring to watch, but this movie is really worth your time to watch it…

"Nothing happens"
Lucky Chan Sil was a charming “nothing happens” slice of mid-life crisis. Directed by Kim Cho Hee, there were times it felt a little like an inside baseball film as Chan Sil was the producer for an indie auteur much as Kim had been the producer for director Hong Sang Soo in real life between 2008-2015.Lee Chan Sil’s life is turned upside-down when the indie director she has worked for as a producer for years dies suddenly of a heart attack. The people who had praised her work now want nothing to do with her, belittling her as unimportant to the work of the genius Ji. She moves into a room in a small home owned by an older illiterate landlady. Her flaky actress friend Sophia hires her to be a housekeeper which is where Chan Sil meets Sophia’s French tutor, Kim Young. Young happens to be a short film director who tutors to pay the bills. As Chan Sil spends time with Young, she begins to wonder if she is falling in love or merely lonely. Leslie Cheung’s ghost visits wearing his Days of Being Wild underwear offering snippets of advice.
Several times the movie talked about films where “nothing happens” and that often when it looked like nothing was happening there was actually something profound quietly at work. I cheered when Chan Sil said that Ozu Yasujiro was her favorite director, another creator of “nothing happens” films. When Young minimalized Ozu’s work, preferring Christopher Nolan, I echoed her reaction!
So, what did happen in this film? Chan Sil was forced to look at her life and determine her priorities. She had spent her youth dedicated to making films and had lost out on love and family. Yet she had also been surrounded by people who enjoyed films as she did. With a little help from the ghost of Leslie Cheung, Chan Sil turned inward, digging into who she really was and what would make her fulfilled and happy. Old friendships were rekindled and new ones began. I loved the ending and thought it fit perfectly with the mood of the film. If you enjoy films that appear to be lower budget where “nothing happens”, this might be one to try.

Things that make you go hmmm….Notes: Several of the tags for this film would suggest that Chan Sil was a basket case, which was not the case. She was having to regroup after she lost her job but it was hardly a mental health crisis. Currently, the genres are Romance and Melodrama of which this film was neither. And Leslie was either Supernatural or CS was indeed seeing things. I prefer the former explanation which definitely added some whimsy to the otherwise realistic story.

Hail to Life
If life becomes hell, what should one do? This is essentially a minimalist film that portrays two, let’s say, friends who want to give up on life, but before doing so, they still want to accomplish one more thing. The film looks beautiful, yet it carries a depressive tone throughout, and we as viewers keep hoping and praying for some kind of turnaround. At the beginning it may seem as if the film promotes negativity, but in reality it seriously and honestly confronts difficult life themes and trials that affect people already from youth, and even from childhood. It speaks about faith among people, but also about faith in God, then about religion, revenge, forgiveness, punishment, justice, violence, abuse, and many other things, so it seems to me that this film is ideal for a film club that would later have a discussion about what is shown in the film and how it reflects on our own life experience.The main protagonists did a great job with their roles, that is, they portrayed the psychological wounds they carry in a subtle and effective way. There are also other characters from a kind of church who are likewise quite convincing and authentic. So this is a psychological drama with youthful and religious elements that is very interesting, but also provocative.

no fluff and zero plot holes
honestly.. this movie lowkey blew my expectations... i though it would be something mid but it turned out to be an amazing mov.. pure action.. super straight plot..no loopholes.. no confusing or ambiguos nonsense..and nothing felt over the top stuff..the pacing was a bit fast for me tho.. i felt a few scenes needed be to carried with proper screen time..kim woo bin.. a bit of his quieter acting beats felt slightly off bu ngl he ate all the fight scenes ..like his fight choreography and action sequences hit hard..and kept me locked in
overall even will a fast pacing ..its a super fun and easy watch..without any fluff

Yet again though if youre more into plot driven films then this might be a skip for you as the narrative in this sequel is heavily character-driven; focusing on the dynamics and rivalries between the two pairs of assassins. This approach gives the film a unique feel in a way thoygh, the focus remains on the interactions and personal stakes rather than relying solely on a complex plot to drive the film forward.

Realistic
A very good and realistic movie. About life as a teen, social class, love, responsibilities and pressure. Very well produced, the visuals and music were ok.The acting was good, the girls had great dynamics.
I recommend watching this good movie.

What i found the most entertaining was the way the two leads acted in their day to day life, so in essence basically their I love the very seamless and chaotic dynamic that they have with each other. I love their lazy and very happy-go-lucky, very inexperienced way of life.
The entire film is driven by the characters and the way that they have interacted with others. I dont see there being an actual plot other than the two of them learning to cope with life as adults and assassin's at the same time. Once again if you want a plot driven film maybe skip, but if you like the character driven and some comedic action then id say give it a go. Its not a masterpiece by any means but its a good way to spend 1 hour and 30 min.

A Scene at the Sea is imbued with love, tenderness and beauty
A modest smile at the corners of a deaf young man's lips, a solitary tear of hurt glimmering beneath the lowered lashes of a sweet, endearing girl, the daily walk to the sea—Takeshi Kitano not only has the ability to recognize the beauty in such moments, but also the rare gift of conveying it to the audience. With every frame, he quietly declares his love for ordinary people, whether they are sweeping the streets, playing pickup soccer in a neighborhood lot, or selling surfing equipment.To many, Shigeru's life may seem monotonous, unremarkable, filled with naïve and seemingly pointless aspirations. Yet that does not make it any less precious to him. It is the only life he has, and he adorns it with dreams, filling it with moments of joy for as long as he possibly can. Takeshi Kitano is an observer—but not the detached, indifferent kind who abandons the audience to the characters' fate. Rather, he is a creator, surrounding them with a quiet, compassionate gaze. He cannot alter the course of events, yet his presence is felt from the opening scene to the final frame.
A Scene at the Sea is imbued with love, tenderness, and beauty, whose delicate fragility finds its perfect reflection in Joe Hisaishi's exquisite score. Heartbreaking queer film
It's painfully sad rather than scary. This is supposed to be a ghost horror story but the scary thing about it is not the ghost, but the living humans. So heartbreaking.It also felt like I was experiencing high school life again when watching this movie. I went to a mixed high school, but most of my classmates were girls. Like the main character Hyo Shin, I was also an outcast for being a weirdo, or at least that's what they were calling me, just because I'm introverted.
Drama among girls can be very toxic, especially when close friends become enemies. A few scenes in this movie were realistic to me. But I don't think my classmates were as cruel as the girls in the all-girl school in this movie. I don't know. Since I was an outcast, I didn't really care much about them and I'm not sure if there were any lesbian couples in my class back in the days. I don't know how they would act if there were a public lesbian couple in the class.
Another disturbing thing in this movie was that all of the male teachers were disgusting, not just that one character who sexually harassed and assaulted his minor student.
By the way, it’s pretty nice to see some of my favorite actresses Park Ye Jin and Gong Hyo Jin when they looked so young and innocent. I heard this was their debut movie. Gong Hyo Jin looked so cute while Park Ye Jin’s character was badass, despite her tragic fate.
