Amazing FL, very good character

I just finished Love Like the Galaxy, and it's truly a great drama. Before talking about the drama itself, I want to highlight the incredible acting performance of Zhao Lu si, which easily contributes to 90% of the show's success. She portrays her character so brilliantly and convincingly!

I also really liked the Emperor's character. It's a refreshing change from the tyrannical and/or overly strict rulers we often see. In this drama, the Emperor is genuinely likable and often very entertaining, which makes him a particularly enjoyable character to watch.

As for the drama itself, I loved watching the female lead with her "I don't know the rules, and I'll do whatever I want" attitude. That's mainly what kept me binge-watching episode after episode. I found the story very interesting for the first 30 episodes, but I lost interest a bit during the next 15. The way the plot developed started to bore me somewhat, but the final episodes were very enjoyable.

To conclude, I had a really great time watching it. It's not an absolute favorite of mine, but it's definitely a high quality drama, carried by a truly outstanding actress.

The chemistry does what words don't have to — I just wanted more time with them at the end

I came to this one having just watched A Shoulder to Cry On, and the parallels are obvious — an emotionally closed-off character, someone loyal enough to keep showing up anyway, a connection built on shared history and unspoken feeling. But where that series spent much of its energy on trauma and the space between the characters, this one closes that distance more convincingly. Ho Tae and Dong Hee actually feel like two people who have been circling each other for years and both know it.
The chemistry is the reason this series works as well as it does. So much of what passes between them happens in glances and proximity rather than dialogue, and it reads as completely authentic. I believed the pull between them from early on and stayed invested throughout because of it. The melancholic, unhurried atmosphere suits that dynamic perfectly — this isn't a series that reaches for dramatic peaks, it lives in the quieter spaces, and that restraint pays off.
My frustration is with the ending, or more precisely with the ratio. The series takes its time building toward honesty between these two — carefully, patiently, earning every step — and then when they finally get there, the time we actually spend with them as something more than almost is over almost immediately. Not tragic, just not enough. After that much buildup the emotional payoff felt shorter than it deserved.

Tae-hyun's trauma stays with you — the ending less so

The enemies-to-friends-to-something-more arc is handled with real care here, and that's the core of why this series works. Da-yeol and Tae-hyun earn every step of their dynamic shift — from deliberate provocation to grudging proximity to genuine trust — and Tae-hyun's backstory is drawn with enough specificity to land as something more than a plot device. The loneliness, the walls, the pushing people away before they can leave first — I believed all of it.
What stayed with me most, and I'll be honest that this comes from a professional place as much as a personal one, is the question of where the adults are in Tae-hyun's life. A teenager with that history, those behavioural patterns, living in those circumstances — in a functioning system there would be intervention. Youth protection services, mandatory reporting, someone looking at this situation and asking harder questions. The series doesn't engage with that absence, which is its right, but I found myself thinking about it in a way that slightly complicated my ability to simply feel the romance.
Da-yeol's decision to draw a boundary and step away is one of the strongest moments in the series — genuinely mature writing, and his parting words to Tae-hyun are quietly devastating. I don't fault him for it. But knowing that Tae-hyun's only real anchor then disappears for two years, and imagining what that period looked like for someone with his history — the series skips over exactly the part I would have most wanted to see.
The reunion and reconciliation felt rushed to me. The time jump is supposed to signal growth, but we don't witness that growth — we're asked to accept it, which is a different thing. I'm always skeptical of time jumps that do the character work off screen and then present the result as earned resolution.
I didn't manage to see the special episodes — if they fill in some of that two-year gap, I'd genuinely be curious to know.

A deeper dive into the characters and the many troubles of teenagers

This season dived deeper into each characters life while highlighted many problems teenagers face but has no one to guide them. It shade light on the problems and also left a moral understanding which might be helpful for the teenagers struggling with something similar.

The story continued from where it left off. Now each episode covered each of the characters and how they overcame the struggles. It showed the social media and stalker issue, about dangerousness of illegal abortion, about a teen loosing their parent, conflict of career path choice, bad effects of substance uses, how feelings are uncontrollable, sexuality, anxiety, child-parent relationships and bad parenting problems, friendship, mental health, attention seeking and many more. And each of the issues were winded up with the character's daily lives making it more relatable for everyone.

Acting was amazing. The new characters also did great. Punpun's acting always stood out to me the most.

Direction wise it wasn't slow. It felt like watching them in real life.


I always say Hormones has at least one thing you will relate to, in their multiple struggles of teen lives. It's great to see a true teen-centric story that solely doesn't revolve around being a high schooler in love.

Not Worth the Rating

I might get some hate for this, but I don't think the drama deserves the rating it's getting, much like Dynamite Kiss. The first half of the series was genuinely strong and had me hooked, but once again, the writers seem unable to handle the latter half properly, making it increasingly difficult to watch. I'm already on episode 9, and I find myself skipping scenes just to get through it for the sake of finishing. At this point, I might end up dropping it next week because there isn't much left that keeps me invested. The early episodes were excellent and kept me glued to my seat, but the storyline simply doesn't have enough substance to justify 14 episodes. It feels like they're dragging things out unnecessarily. The drama would have been much better if everything had been wrapped up in 8 to 10 episodes.

One of My Favorite Series!!!!!

First of all, I really want to thank the writer, producer, director, and the entire crew for choosing these couples. Seeing both Boom and Mix in the same series was honestly a dream come true! I never expected it to happen because Boom didn't have an established partner before. So, thank you to whoever decided to pair Boom and Aou together.

Now, let's start the review.

📢📢 Warning: This review contains MAJOR SPOILERS. I repeat: SPOILERS AHEAD!!!

Story / Plot:
The first thing I want to talk about is the story and plot. The story itself was great. Many fans expected lots of chaos and complicated relationships similar to Season 1, but that didn't really happen. Personally, I don't mind that at all. However, my main issue is with the plot gaps and unanswered questions, such as:

1- Why were we never told how or when Dean became a host?
2- How and when did Jack and Dean first meet?
3- How did Tua and Arnold meet and become friends?
4- How did Jack find out that Dean was a host?
5- Why didn't we get any scenes showing Dean and Jack's first breakup?
6- Why did Raffy fall for Jack, and how did they meet?
7- Why didn't we see any scenes of Jack becoming an alcoholic and going to rehab?
8- During the outing when Dean was drugged, why didn't he explain the situation to Jack?
9- How was Dean able to buy a new apartment when he was struggling financially? We saw this after both Jack and Tua kicked him out.
10 -Why does Jack hate Rome and his father?
11- Why weren't we told what happened between Raffy and his mother after he ignored her calls?
12- Did Pete ever return the money he stole? And why did he steal it in the first place?
13- Why didn't Pete expose Raffy and Rome when he saw them in the forest, especially considering he was following Rome?
14- Who told Raffy that Pete was the one who leaked the photo, or how did he figure it out?
15- Why do Dean and Raffy dislike each other so much? I don't think it's only because they both loved Jack.
16- Why did Jack and Tua get angry and break up with their partners when there wasn't any actual cheating? Dean and Arnold didn't intentionally do anything wrong. Everyone knew they were drunk and not fully aware of what was happening.
17- Was Dean and Jack's first breakup really justified? Jack said he knew about Dean's financial struggles, yet his reason for breaking up was that Dean didn't ask him for help. Is that really enough reason to end a relationship? It would've made more sense if the breakup had been because Dean was working as a host for wealthy clients.
18- Why did Dean and Jack completely lose contact after their second breakup when they agreed to stay friends?
19- What happened to Timmy and Pete after graduation?
20- Despite Dean becoming popular during his pairing with Arnold and even receiving an acting offer from a photographer, what happened to that opportunity? How did he end up working as cabin crew instead of pursuing his dream, especially considering his fanbase and theater experience?
21- What's the story behind the necklaces that Dean and Jack wear?
22- My final and most important question: Why didn't Jack apologize to Dean even once? He never listened to Dean's explanations or believed him regarding becoming a host or being drugged, and he repeatedly labeled him a cheater.

These are just some of the questions the series never answered.



I also really want to say this: Why is Dean portrayed as the bad guy when Raffy and Jack are also at fault?

Jack:
Jack never allowed Dean to explain himself during either breakup. On top of that, he gets jealous when Dean flirts with strangers, yet he's willing to sleep with someone else himself. How does that make sense? Dean tried talking to him multiple times, but Jack refused to listen. He also clearly doesn't trust Dean. Is it really possible to love someone without trusting them even 1%? If so, why are they still together and in love? It just doesn't make sense.

Raffy:
Raffy exposed Dean's work as a host and publicly humiliated him. He also secretly filmed Dean and Arnold in the forest and intended to release that video as well. Why isn't he considered one of the villains? Jealousy isn't an excuse for those actions. He has feelings for Jack while sleeping with strangers. He also keeps giving Rome hope that he might love him someday, only to run back to Jack again.



What I didn't like is that the series introduced many important topics but never properly explored them. That's a mistake on the writer's and production team's part. They should provide a complete story, not one filled with missing pieces. However, I loved the variety of relationships between the couples. Arnold and Tua had a sweet relationship that started as a friendship.
Rome and Raffy were complicated, with a relationship built on desire and mistakes. Dean and Jack were former lovers who reunited. Their relationship was toxic, but they still deeply loved each other. Out of all the couples, they were definitely the most chaotic. I never felt bored watching the other couples, even though I'm mainly an EarthMix fan. I honestly didn't expect to enjoy the other characters and their relationship development as much as I did.



Which Season Was Better?
In terms of story, I'd say Season 1 was better.
In terms of acting and NC scenes, Season 2 wins.
Overall, though, I actually prefer Season 2.

Season 1 had some boring moments, chaotic plotlines until the very end, and an unhealthy amount of toxicity in the relationships. I mainly watched it for First and Khaotung, with no disrespect to the other actors.

Season 1: 7.5/10
I don't know... the relationships were just too messy. Cheating, forgiveness, and repeating the same cycle over and over again. The relationships were extremely toxic.
I usually enjoy dark and complicated dramas like this, but for some reason this particular series made me feel anxious while watching it 😂

Season 2: 8.5/10
The score would've been higher if the plot had fewer unanswered questions.



Acting:
Everyone worked incredibly hard on this series, and it definitely shows.

Mix:
The actor who impressed me the most was Mix. As a fan, but also as a viewer trying to remain unbiased, I can confidently say that Mix is one of the best actors in GMMTV. Despite having less acting experience than many others, he constantly manages to impress me. Honestly, he has been excellent since A Tale of Thousand Stars and Moonlight Chicken. He has incredible charisma and screen presence, along with excellent control of his facial expressions and emotional delivery. One example is the amount of criticism and hate he received because of his character in this series. That only proves how convincingly he portrayed the role and its emotions. I loved Mix's character in this series and would love to see him play similar roles again. I almost forgot to mention the NC scenes. EarthMix absolutely nailed those scenes. Both the scenes and the characters felt completely different from anything they've done before. I honestly didn't expect the NC scenes to be that intense... hehe. Their scenes were definitely my favorite.

Aou:
Aou also stood out a lot in this series. He delivered a fantastic performance and handled his role very well. He has a bright future ahead of him, and I genuinely wish him success. It looks like I'm becoming an AouBoom fan too 😂
And those NC scenes... I was genuinely shocked. Since they're still a relatively new pairing, I wasn't expecting much, but the pool scene and the bathroom scene... My God.

Joss, Gawin, and Boom:
Let's not forget Joss, Gawin, and Boom. They all worked hard and performed their roles excellently.



OST / Music:
For me, the soundtrack fit the series perfectly. Especially that song and instrumental that played during the final scene of Episode 1 — the Dean and Jack scene where they were engaging in some very intimate activities... If you know, you know 😂😂



Rewatch Value:
I finished the entire series in two days and have already rewatched it more than four times. So yes, I can confidently say I'll definitely watch it again.



Final Thoughts:
I'm genuinely sad that the series is over. I feel a real sense of emptiness now. I love this cast so much, and I genuinely enjoyed watching their interviews, events, fan meetings, livestreams, and reaction videos. I don't know why, but they all seem incredibly comfortable with each other. You can see it in their jokes, their interactions, their skinship, and even during promotions. I truly hope we get to see them all together again in another project someday.

but why is it called Stealing pet?

The ML and FL were very well casted and played their individual roles well. The music consisted of the same 3 songs chinese short dramas play during their videos. I'm imagining it's a licensing issue. The costume director did a good job and I liked the outfits.
My issue with the show mostly stems from the writing and lack of continuity on the directors part. The FLs personality did a 180 in the last ten minutes of the show. No one, especially someone who suffered that much mental abuse and torture can change overnight. Another thing I was confused about was whether or not they were able to save the baby. Likely a language barrier/skewed viewing issue but confused all the same.
The stepbrother has zero character written other than being a step for the FL to springboard off of. The father was horrid and deserved a far worse ending than he got.

Season 1 was better than Season 2 for me, but I have the answer!

I love PoohPavel! Pavel has the most expressive face I've ever seen. And the man is also a top shelf drop dead gorgeous cryer. I mean, like Ziyu in Revenged Love level of crying game. How does he ugly cry and still look both convincing and hot AF? His O face is pretty sweet too.

And Pooh is so adorable. I enjoyed watching my baby boo try to run things. (I thought his acting was better in Goddess Bless... but maybe that's just me.)

And thank the lord for a dominating bottom and pretty top. Honestly, can someone start writing vers mains into BL? Part of what I enjoy about BL is the break from the patriarchy. Dont bring it back through uke/seme tropes!

I love so many things about this show. But I wasn't totally feeling the presmise underlying the second season or the storytelling. That made it hard for me to fully enjoy because I was like WTF all the time. Write a more cogent story (in S2) that I can care about. And dont do ridiculous things.

Seriously, you guys could have called me. I would have written the second season for you. I dont have it completely worked out, but Charlie would have absorbed an enigma's powers in season 1 so we could have the big reveal in season 2. And at some point this would have resulted in Charlie impregnating Babe. I dont know whether this is an Incredibles situation where the baby has a shit ton of powers or if its a kidnapping plot or both. But it ain't what you fools wrote in S2. Anyway, writers, call me. We can work out the details. Season 3 will be great!

I loved the premise sooo much. I just wish it would have been a proper series because it has so much potential. I loved the actors and their characters. I also loved how it gave so easily that summer vibe.

The only thing I dont like is that it is supposed to be and that it is only 2 episodes .
It didnt have time to show us Yeo Reums relationship with her parents. We only saw bits of her past briefly. It would have been so much better if they had also delved deeper into Choi Yeo Reums relationship with every single one of the boys and with their mother. I need more of them all together. It would have been amazing to explore more of how they welcomed her into their home and into their hearts and how she found a family.
I hated how Yeo Reums mother acted like she did. What do you mean she couldnt see that her child was being abused by her boyfriend. And then she got married to him and abandoned her daughter to go to Europe for 6 months?? And now she just appears from time to time to just see her daughter for a bit?? Their relationship was enough to fill 4 episodes honestly.
I also didnt like how they made it seem that she was gonna have a good relationship with her father because he went to her school to pick her up after class. I didnt like it because we didnt have any time to see her relationship with her father. And so seeing them together didnt give us the satisfaction that it could have given us if they showed more of how they ended up in that situation. It didnt elicit any emotion from the viewers and it felt undeserved.

We dont have time to see her father or mother understanding how neglectful they have been to their child and how this is also considered abuse and how they could try to do better. We dont get the satisfaction of seeing Yeo Reum exploring more about how she feels about this and how she tries to move forward.

I get that it was supposed to be only 2 episodes but damn it could have been such a beautiful series.

I Didn't Expect Much, But This Drama Ruined Me

I was interested in xianxia dramas from the very beginning, and I often saw people talking about *Till the End of the Moon*, so I decided to give it a try. At first, I didn't have very high expectations for this drama, but it turned out to be absolutely amazing—seriously, very lit. From Episode 1 all the way to Episode 33, I didn't find a single boring episode. It was so engaging that I even watched it slowly so I wouldn't finish it too quickly.

Going back to the story itself, all of the characters have clear reasons behind their personalities and actions. What I really regret is that the main couple had such a heartbreaking story across all three lifetimes: Tantai Jin and Ye Xiwu, Mingye and Sangjiu, and Cang Jiumin and Li Susu. I feel that Tantai Jin put in an incredible amount of effort. Ye Xiwu loved him deeply as well, but she also had many people to save and responsibilities to fulfill, while Tantai Jin only had Ye Xiwu in his life. Every misunderstanding seemed to drag them into a living hell, yet there was always a resolution to their conflicts, which kept their bond and relationship strong.

I even feel that the biggest villain in the drama, Bingchang, didn't play as significant a role in the overall story as I expected, simply because the struggles and conflicts between the main couple themselves were already so overwhelming. I haven't finished the drama yet, but I already know that one of them will die in the end.

I’ll probably watch one of Luo Yunxi and Bai Lu's modern dramas afterward to help myself move on from this emotional roller coaster. I can honestly say that *Till the End of the Moon* is the best drama I have ever watched so far, and I will never stop recommending it to other people. The chemistry between the leads and the CGI are outstanding and nearly perfect. There aren't too many side characters slowing down the plot, and the efforts they make for each other in their love story are so moving that viewers can truly feel their pain.

Overall, this drama is incredible, but it's also one of the most emotionally traumatic dramas I've ever watched. It's the kind of show that leaves a deep impression on you, but perhaps not one you'd want to rewatch. Tantai Jin fought so hard from beginning to end, and in my opinion, he is the most tragic character in the entire story, having to accept the fate of becoming the Devil God. 😭❤️

Strong start that fades away into a lack of character work and plot

Hoo... what to say? I really loved the beginning of this show. After episode one I truly believed this was going to be one of my favorite series this year. Unfortunately, since then, it's spun it's wheels into nothing. Though the characters aren't necessarily static, they never gain much more emotional depth and seem to make decisions because the script tells them to. While fun, colorful, and pretty watch, there's nothing to sink your teeth into story-wise. I found myself dispassionately watching "life or death" battles because the struggles never seemed grounded. It's a shame. The actors seem talented and the concept is interesting it just... isn't willing to go there.

STORY:
Truly the biggest let down of this show is the storytelling. I remember watching the first pilot trailer and thinking "Wow, how mysterious and magical! I can't wait to learn the details!" Well, it's episode 6 and the details never came. It seems to be an entirely vibes-based plot with a evil politician who has done.... something and a few WU who were expelled from the order (their relationships with their former brothers and sisters are barely explored) and a regular guy possessed by a monkey god--a plot that will cease to have stakes Remarkably fast. The character conflict is paper thin and never explored or scattered across brief flashbacks and unearned dramatic vows. Boring.

Truthfully, this is an ongoing problem with GMMTV works. They have a tendency to rely on the chemistry and history of the couples to fill in the details on the plot. And, well, I haven't seen High School Frenemy. I enjoy Sky and Nani but I would not describe myself as a stan. As a viewer with very little experience with these people and their "lore" the plot doesn't evoke anything. They're just fated because they're fated. I'm sure if these are your guys it feels super special and real... but I don't know them and I don't know why they care. Niran and Pete don't have any reason to be doing all that, or at least not one I've been made privy to as a viewer.

ACTING:
For what they are working with, I am generally impressed. The characters are believable and unique and interesting in their interactions together. I don't think any performance particularly stands in a negative way. I am already a fan of Godji, Krist, Nani, Great and Phuwin, so it was an easy sell for me. Sky is a new face, but I enjoyed his work. I found he has great ability to handle stillness and silence while still being compelling, which is not always easy to do. I would have liked it if he had... a bit more to do.

That said, it comes across a bit kitchsy and overdone sometimes. Nani (Pete) in particularly gives a couple of speeches about always being there for each other that feel off in part because of the cheesy dialogue, in part because of the unearned moment, and in part because Nani just fails to believe in what he's saying. It's not all hate though-- his monkey acting is very fun and lively, and the moments of conflict between Pete and Niran are electric.

PRODUCTION:
It's amazing how one single production can have you see "Wow, a real budget!" and "Oh dear..." sometimes in the same episode! I think the creators could have been a bit smarter in how they used their money, not always relying on hit-or-miss effects. Color, light, angles, and (real) fog could do a lot to bridge the gap between glowing CGI orbs. It's better than most, do not get me wrong--it's not incompetent by any means. But it is still somehow lacking a visual identity in many scenes--especially with the Monkey or in the Fog, there's a lot of blank space that makes it look mismatched to the colorful and maximalist main plot.

I do think the team is super successful and creating an atmosphere, especially for the rituals. I would actually like much more of that busy, eclectic, colorful, street life/night market feeling to surround even more of the show.

INTIMACY:
Not romance genre, but I'd like to take the space in my review format to comment on the SkyNani of it all. I don't actually care about queerbaiting, in fact, I'd prefer they queerbait a little harder. If you're going to sell me a soul binding, I better see those souls Bound. Instead, it is mostly cliches without character incidents to support development. Honestly, having not seen HSF, I don't really get it. The chemistry is a bit lacking in comparison to some other bromance and censored works. But, I suppose, even PangWave took most of S1 to get crazy, so perhaps I am just jumping ship too early. I don't know. The fandom hyped the relationship-whatever it's capacity-so high and I'm just not seeing it myself.

A Brilliantly crafted drama.

CORONOR'S DIARY was absolutely splendid.
I mean, it's a bit plot heavy. But the cases they took up were so innovative, were so henious.... it shook me, at the same time amazed me.

Each and every case was so well written, and perfectly excecuted.

The Imperial family tree is difficult to understand so I referred mdl for that. (Thanks to mdl)
The internla affairs in the royal family was also soo well designed. I was mindblown.

The plot twists....the charcters..... damn. It was super interesting.

I like how tight the entire story was, that the main cause remained persistent throughtout 38 epiosdes.
This drama is more on mystery-thriller side than on romance.
There was barely any romance.... but whatever was presented was satisfying enough.
Yan Chi and Wan'er's love was pure and sosososo based on mutual trust. I loved it.

Ao Rui Peng and Landi Li carried the entire drama. They were absolutely magnificent.

I wauld like to watch more of these types of dramas.

Great story, the acting however...

I'll start this off by saying that I really did enjoy watching this series, it was never boring for me. Typically, with shows from gmmtv, towards the last 3 or so episodes there's always such a huge conflict that breaks everybody up for no reason. With this show, however, at no point did any of the conflict feel forced. It felt real, in a sense. I liked the way the show progressed and I am glad I watched it.

However, there were some things that I absolutely did not like. First, I honestly didn't really like Eugene and Gram's story, but that's really no one's problem but mine. Maybe I'm just a hater. Their story wasn't bad, it just didn't interest me. I love Eugene and I'm glad she got her happy ending.

Now, the acting... This was another thing I absolutely did not like. Most of the cast did fine, First especially. Maybe I'm just biased, but I think he did an amazing job in the last two episodes, his heartbreak and betrayal was so beautifully portrayed. It makes me really sad that I can't say the same about his co-star, Gawin. He never looked sad, he just looked like he was in pain. I couldn't take his scenes seriously. I had no idea what emotions he was trying to portray throughout the entire show. It made me really dislike his character. Maybe he's improved since this show aired, but I wouldn't know.

Overall, it's a really great show with an interesting, well-written plot. There are some things that could have, and should have, been different, but I still had a great time watching it which is all that matters.
