Must Watch

This 7 episode drama has really blown me away. It has a very interest style (which is why I was hesitant to watch) and this is a drama you have to be ready to pay attention to because a lot of plot development happens through visuals of their phone screens.

This is also the first time a campus drama has made me think, who the hell are we as a society because of the heavy use of mobile phones. Never have I felt I need to unplug more than when I was watching this drama. If it wasn't 2am I would take a walk outside šŸ˜…

And the romantic entanglements are so strong. I haven't cried in a while but Baabin's confession after the Black Pink concert had me in tears.

Bua struggles with needed online and in real life attention and acceptance was heartbreaking as well.

great cast but a horrible story line

Honestly, the cast is incredible.

I really wanted to see these two actresses play together, but the story is an absolute disaster.I watched the movie twice, and I still didn’t understand much. Suddenly someone dies and everyone panics for no clear reason?! There’s almost no backstory on their lives before all of this, so we can’t really understand how or why they ended up in this situation.Han So-hee’s acting is good, and Jeon Jong-seo’s is solid too, but that’s pretty much all I can say. The OST is nice but nothing special. The main villain is well-acted, but unfortunately the story doesn’t highlight him enough despite how good the actor is.

A well written script with many laugh out loud scenes, award-worthy OSTs and memorable characters.

One of the first things that stood out to me was how good the ost was, the timing, the lyrics, the melodies that would not be fitting for any other drama. It was so good. There would be a scene where jazz music suddenly starts playing and it would be totally fit for some reason and it was soo fun. Anime-like grand shots would have some goofy ass music and bilibili fanedit style editing and over the top acting to emphasise the dramatics of the situation.

The story was great too, with some cliches that were subverted masterfully. The dialogue felt heartfelt and genuine, the acting was to the standard, the whole cast of characters were given definitive personalities and the ending gave us all the answers we asked for. It's so satisfying.

I laughed so much during some scenes that my stomach hurt and tears came out ["omg they're spinning"]. It's golden. I loved it, i will be rewatching it, and you should too!!

Award winner for wrecking viewers' heart

I watched this with my roommate in the room and she had to witness me crying tears and snot and all thanks to it.

Amazing amazing story. I have nothing else to say. The title itself explained everything and I felt like I went in unprepared, wrecking me completely and I feel like I really did cry a litre of tears. And the acting was superb as well. Nothing further needed to be said. A constant rewatch again and again whenever I want to torture myself.

C.I liked it though at the beginning I didn't understand why they jumped immediately into them Being close, Cher no matter how lovely you are, you can't just dive into someone's life and interfere as if the whole world rotates around you lol I don't mean that negatively, I love his character but as an introvert myself, I admit it's easier to feel attracted to such a bubbly character as Cher because he basically has everything thing we lack but still it's kinda difficult to fall in love with because it can get really exhausting. And Boss being deeply and quickly in love with Cher is kinda weird, also it is a bit dragging but so does 95% of Thai dramas, BL or not.

Be that as it may, I love Force and Book, their chemistry is solid - their friendship for over 16 years IRL helps a lot- and I love to see them together again and again though this series wasn't a great improvement from the first disaster I watched for them "Enchante" except maybe here I can differentiate between them šŸ˜‚ in Enchante I had hard time trying to figure out who is whom. And I wish I'll see more of them soon ... Waiting patiently for Just friends and wishing it won't be as messy as it looked šŸ¤£šŸ˜‚

Only Toxic

This K-drama is pure toxicity and nothing else.

Let’s talk about the story:

A guy who flirts with every girl he meets,
and a girl who falls in love with him.
A super toxic ā€œcouple.ā€

That’s literally the entire summary of the show. There’s no real storyline.
You just watch two young people spend their time having sex, fighting, breaking up, and then getting back together again. It’s the same cycle over and over. It’s a shame because the story isn’t developed any deeper than that. I wish they had given it more substance.

The acting is decent, but honestly, the series doesn’t have much else to offer.

Love it! One of the best dramas

In my opinion, this drama is really, really good.

I always know when I truly like a story because the moment I start watching, I lose sleep šŸ˜‚ On my first day alone, I was already on episode 8. That says a lot.

Are You the One completely pulled me in. I loved the story, the characters, and the overall plot. It had a nice balance—not too heavy, not too light just enough to keep you engaged without feeling drained. Every episode had something meaningful, so it never felt like filler.

One of my favorite things about this drama is the female lead, Liu Miantang. She’s strong, smart, and independent exactly the kind of character I enjoy watching. She actually contributes to the story and doesn’t make frustrating decisions, which made the experience even better.

And of course, Cui Xingzhou , what can I say? A solid 10/10. Calm, composed, but completely devoted his ā€œI choose youā€ energy was everything 😭

If I had one complaint, it would be the ending. I feel like the final part could have been developed more. The way everything was resolved felt a bit rushed, as if it was all compressed into one episode. I also wish they showed more of what happened after everything settled especially their life together afterward. It would have been nice to see more development between the emperor and empress, and I was also a bit curious about the backstory of how the young emperor was overthrown.

But overall, despite those minor issues, this was such a satisfying watch for me.

Like I always say in my reviews it’s either a 0 or a 10. No in between.

And this one?

Definitely a 10/10šŸ’•

The Law works the same no matter what part of the world you're in

Normally you would think this is a series of good against evil, but there's so many bad people in this, you find yourself rooting for a few of them. Yuya Yagira was perfect playing this role. A lawyer who fights for injustice and the less fortunate, but also shows how to manipulate the system of law. He shows the guilty how to become innocent if you do it right.
You are always rooting for him, even though some of his actions are not exactly ethical. It's the classic line, the end justifies the means.
The rest of the cast plays well. I'm always a fan of Keita Machida. He gives us a character that you really hadn't seen him play before, and he does a great job at it. He's got some bad in him, but definitely gets put on the side of the "good guys".
I think the only really negative I had with the series was the way it ended up. You're hoping for a great conclusion in the final episode, but it just doesn't come to be. I'm guessing we were set up for a season 2?? It can't come soon enough, because we were really left hanging in the wind!!

John Wick female version

A female version of John Wick.

I was very pleasantly surprised!
Okay, the story isn’t the most original or interesting part of the movie for me. Her friend gets killed, she wants revenge pretty basic, but it works perfectly for this type of film.T

he main character is really charismatic. I didn’t know the actress before watching this, and honestly, I really liked her!
There’s a lot of action, which is exactly what I wanted.Honestly,

I highly recommend the movie!

No depth

After reading the reviews I decided to give the drama a chance. I was so the disappointed by the story, it did not make sense at all. There was no depth to the reason why fl mom hated ml. So of the fire fighting scenes where, there's 0 possibility of such things to happen. From ep 1-25 we have the fl running after the ml and him being rude and rejecting her. 40 episodes should have been cut to 24 maybe it would have made more sense. I have a headache after watching this drama

Kind of silly, but not bad

This is kind of silly, a bit jumpy and I can't seem to find all the episodes to watch it, but I'm here for TodTime anyway. It's nice to see Tod again. I've always enjoyed watching him act ever since I seen him in Venus in The Sky because he gives his all (especially with his intimate scenes) and he didn't disappoint here either. I do feel the storyline is a bit sporadic and it's not bad, though there's definitely missed opportunities for this to be better.

It's also nice to see Time again after I watched him in The Whisperer. I still think his acting is a bit subpar, but I feel he matches Tod's energy with the intimate scenes, because let's be real; when Tod kisses, he kisses! There isn't any pecking with him during kissing scenes (he uses his tongue)and the only one who ever matched his energy was Cheque and when Cheque left, I felt they would not be able to find someone who could keep up with the intensity Tod brings to intimate scenes, but I was wrong. Time still needs a bit more acting experience, but he seems capable of keeping up with Tod's acting intensity.

I'm a BL fan, through and through, so my biggest complaint is how many GL couples that were in this and I felt TodTime didn't get enough screen time. This show had more GL couples than BL and that rifled my feathers a bit. However, since I could not find a lot of the episodes to watch, I'm just going off the episodes that I did watch and there was more GL than BL. I hope I find more of these to watch because I'm invested in TodTime's acting abilities in this one.

MY COMFORT K-DRAMA! SWAGGG!!

I'm not a person who rewatches kdramas no matter how I loved a series, but THIS? I've rewatched a kdrama for the FIRST TIME and I didn't skip a single second in rewatching it! I find it hard to find good kdramas to watch nowadays so I thought why not rewatch some of my favorite ones? And I did! I really loved their OST ever since I was young when I first watched it until now. I remember my favorite moments of the main characters and it still hit me as it did watching it again. I really love their trope, such a healthy relationship of a couple. The ML had outright communicated with the FL immediately when he couldn't understand on why she was angry at him, which is something I don't see often in kdramas that a couple does. I really loved that, no wonder why in my future relationships I'd really want to have that kind of comfort and communication with my future partner! Both actors were dating that time no wonder why the acting felt more natural and it was definitely NAM JOO HYUK's prime era kdrama. This wasn't like other kdrama's I've watched, the story isn't common. I really loved how chaotic and funny they were together even before they got together. I'd love to have a relationship like them one day, I just love how CHALANT Nam Joo Hyuk is towards Lee Sung Kyung in that kdrama. I can rewatch it a million times and would never get bored as long as I see my comfort kdrama couple on screen! The sports academy really shows the life of an athlete like a swimmer, gymnast, and a weightlifter. I was so glad that Si-ho weren't those typical ex girlfriend's who wanted to get back with the ML even though they're already with the FL. I like her. I didn't like what she did to Bok-joo, but she definitely had some kind of character development at the end. Maybe on my sad days I'd rewatch this for some sweet rom-com moments and if I'd really need a good laugh! This will always have a special place in my heart. šŸ«¶šŸ»

A beautiful love story wrapped in layers upon layers of deception, sacrifice & soul-crushing angst.

Veil of Shadows delivers far more than just a typical romance or fantasy drama. Like many of the same genre, at its heart, it’s both a love story and save-the-world story, but what truly sets it apart for me is the constant uncertainty. For much of the journey, you’re left questioning everyone: Who is truly the hero, and who is the villain? Are the supposed heroes secretly manipulating everything from the shadows, or are the antagonists simply misunderstood? That constant uncertainty made the story incredibly engaging because I never fully knew who to trust or root for.

The romance is one of the strongest parts of the story. Here, love is defined by sacrifice, and characters are willing to defy fate, the world, and even their own inner struggles to protect the one they cherish. It’s tragic, but also deeply moving.

The characters are another major strength. With two deceptive nine-tailed foxes (Lu WuYi and Wu Wang Yan), a demon hunter who may actually be a demon or even a dragon deity (Wu Shi Guang), Ji Ling whose identity keeps changing throughout the story, and Li Jie, a demon hunter with mysterious and questionable past, there is always something new to question. Their identities and motivations are layered, and I loved constantly guessing and second-guessing who they really were. Despite all the deception, their relationships with each other are touching, and some of the best moments are when they come together and work as a team.

The acting was also impressive. TJR and JJY especially stood out to me as Lu Wuyi and Ji Ling. The way they portrayed yearning, heartbreak, loneliness, and every emotion in between was absolutely beautiful to watch. They brought so much depth and feeling to their characters that it was impossible not to be moved by them. A lot of the cast also had the challenge of playing multiple roles, especially TJR and Yan An, and they handled it incredibly well. What I loved most was how clearly distinct each version of their characters felt. Through their expressions, body language, and overall energy, you could immediately tell who they were portraying at any given moment. Each role felt like a completely different person, which made the performances even more impressive. Overall, the entire cast did a fantastic job.

Visually, this drama is absolutely s t u n n i n g. Like other GJM works, it's full of beautiful costumes, gorgeous cinematography, attractive and beautiful actors, and high production value. Every scene feels carefully made, and it’s truly a feast for the eyes.

The music is also amazing. Emotional, beautiful, and perfectly matched to the story, it adds so much depth to every important moment, heightening every heartbreaking, suspenseful, and triumphant sequence.

And of course, angst! Endless, delicious, devastating angst. If emotional suffering, yearning, sacrifice, and heartbreak are your thing, this story absolutely delivers!!!

The ending was satisfying; happy enough, yet touched with a bittersweet note that made the sacrifices feel meaningful.

My main criticism lies with the villain. While the heroes and morally gray characters are fascinatingly complex, the primary antagonist feels comparatively one dimensional. I tend to prefer villains shaped by circumstance or tragedy, but here the central evil is more of a mythological force driven simply by destruction, despair, and misery. While effective as a threat, it lacks the emotional nuance that makes antagonists truly unforgettable.

Overall, this is a visually stunning, emotionally devastating fantasy romance that thrives on deception, layered identities, and sacrificial love. It keeps you emotionally invested from beginning to end, and if you enjoy complex and ambiguous characters and stories full of mystery and angst, this is definitely worth watching.

Too Much Gore, Not Enough Story

This story seemed kind of intriguing at the beginning. I love a good horror series. It seemed to have a blend of shamanism with a touch of "The Ring" horror movie blended together. A count down of 24 hours instead of seven days ....
However, there was real difficulty for me getting pulled into this story. At times it was a bit confusing and a little mixed up with the direction of the plot. It seemed to be focused on blood and gore. I mean, I get it, it's a horror theme, so naturally you need the blood and cutting flesh and all the good stuff that goes with it ... but it just seemed to be excessive, showing the same scenes over and over again.
It wasn't until episode 5 that the series started to redeem itself. I'm kind of glad I was able to stick it out that long, because there were a few times I just about gave up on it. From episode 5 through the final episode, it was a much more enjoyable watch. The characters become more in focus, as does the story, too ... all except the ending.
Not exactly sure what the ending is trying to suggest or hint at maybe a sequel?? but it really didn't work for me.
Overall, not a bad series, but could have been so much better!!!!!
