Glad i kept watching

I didn't like the first episode and the in the later episodes re-appearing foot scene slightly grossed me out. But i am glad i always finish what i start, because this turned out a good drama. I was cheering and clapping at the end of episode 7, that moment felt so good!
A good drama about being comfortable with who you are, and doing what you love, those are the most important things in the world.
The handsome prince Goto Naoya didn't look very attractive to me. I saw pictures of him on Pinterest and he is actually quite good looking, so i don't understand why they chose to give him this look in this drama. He was quite adorable when he smile though.
Good acting, the chemistry and the kisses were ok.
The visuals and music were ok.

Awful plot, decent comedy!

The plot is really really bad, but at least for the first 9 epis it stays out of the way & since the drama does not at any point take itself seriously this is almost fine. Potato Lab is one of those rare gag romantic comedies that are quite fun to watch despite the low quality storytelling. Unfortunately from the end of e9 onward the enjoyment drops off quite a bit. FL going to that funeral is intelligence insultingly bad, furthermore the usual conflict & conflict resolution that so often happens late in kdramas is as anti fun as always. Up to e9 I would have rated this at around 8.5 but they just had to ruin it, still don't feel like I wasted my time, so 7 it is.

excellent spy story

I will actually try not to spoil the movie. After alot of drama watching a film seems as fragile as a butterfly's wing, and I dont want to ruin it.

Just finished the show and it is the real deal Zhang Yi Mou. Very beautiful.
Classic double and triple crosses.
No holds barred, no sentiment.
It is a movie, so not every end is tied up in a bow (his pregnant wife? and the ex-girlfriend?).
Patriotism, as in most serious spy stories, is a pretty bleak state. There are quite a few C-movies that I will never watch, but everything in the spy world is already a shade of grey, so you can feel secure watching it.

Straight-up, a movie about double-crossing spies and moles has got to be difficult to figure out. (I can hear the complaints already! For spy shows, if you cant stand the heat....) My wits seem to have been dulled by long dramas, so I may have to watch it again, but as with most good action movies, things seem to be settling into mental place in this hour afterwards.

Excellent sound and visuals, the lazy crawl of traffic on the elevated highways is a recurrent motif, with the focus on one big circular interchange. I do not think I saw a piece of red or orange in the entire film -- it is mostly blue and black, with some green and yellow for relief.

I really liked it. I was captivated by Jackson Yee. Want to see the next film he is in, sequel to this or no.

The writing was really bad.

It started out pretty well, but then it slowly lost its direction. The story felt boring at times, and a lot of things could have been handled much better.

The part I hated the most was how quickly the FL forgave the ML. After everything she went through because of him, I really wished her forgiveness had been slower and more emotionally justified.

Her backstory was literally dumped into one episode, while the ML’s backstory was explored across so many episodes. Because of that, we never really got to feel the FL’s pain to the same extent. The audience was given much more time to understand and sympathize with the ML than with her.

I also wished the FL had remained more independent. She was actually quite independent in the beginning, but after she got the movie, she started feeling more like the ML’s shadow. Everything began revolving around him, and her own character development and ambitions took a backseat.

The second couple was honestly the best part of the show. Their chemistry and storyline had so much potential, but the writers never explored them properly. They could have had a really interesting and meaningful storyline if they had been given more screen time.

And honestly, why did the third couple even exist? Their story had very little to do with the actual plot. They didn’t even have a proper storyline, and their screen time was too limited to develop their relationship properly anyway. I would have much rather seen the writers use that time to develop the second couple.

Overall, the story had so much potential, but the writing was extremely sloppy. There were some really good ideas and interesting characters, but the execution just wasn't there.

Taking a Step Toward Something New

I always adore when Asian dramas step outside their usual cliché comfort zone, so when I read the description of this series, I was already intrigued. Writing-wise, this drama does quite a few interesting things. Not only with its semi-educational themes, but also by breaking away from the stereotypical tropes found in other Asian series as well. Without spoiling too much, the writer handles the second male lead in a particularly fresh and unique way. Another thing I’d like to highlight is the amazing casting overall, from the leads all the way down to the extras.

Idk why it has a pretty high rate

Its like watching a short chinese drama w niche plot but stretched wayyy too much...
Pretty much similar to How Dare You but much worse. It feels like so bad written with the same plot repeated over and over again where the characters are so dumb and naive.
1. All NPCs and side characters blame ML
2. FL only cares about the script she read. no character development, keep pushing ML away cuz she doesn't trust him
But ngl the acting is so good that i got soo annoyed. Idk why i kept watching it lmao

The Pursuit of Jade — Spoiler Review

💚 The Pursuit of Jade — Spoiler Review

⚠️ FULL SPOILERS — INCLUDING THE ENDING

If you're watching The Pursuit of Jade primarily for the romance, yes, I recommend it—but know going in that there is a LOT of political and military storyline between the romantic moments.

The romance starts with a marriage of convenience and slowly develops into genuine love. The male lead falls hard, but because of his identity and political situation, he spends a lot of time trying to protect her by keeping his distance. Eventually, the roles reverse, and he becomes the one chasing her and trying desperately to win her back.

There are plenty of the romance tropes I love in these dramas: secret identity, protective ML, protective FL, wound-tending, jealousy, separation, misunderstandings, drunk FL, secret relationship, reunion, kisses, and lots of "I'll protect you no matter what" moments. The couple repeatedly saves and protects each other, which I really enjoyed because it isn't just the male lead rescuing the female lead.

The romance does go through a LONG separation period, and there are times when the political storyline takes over almost completely. But when the romance comes back, it gives you some really good payoff. The identity reveal, his attempts to win her back, their reconciliation, and eventually making their marriage public all felt earned.

And once they're finally together, they actually stay together. We get the marriage consummation, established-couple scenes, and then Episodes 39–40 focus on wrapping up the story rather than throwing another unnecessary breakup at them. 🙌

I also really liked the ending because it doesn't just stop after the final conflict. We get glimpses of months later, years later, and even a "what if the original event had never happened?" scenario, which gives the ending a little something extra.

If you're willing to sit through the political/military storyline to get to the romance, the payoff is worth it.

could've been finished earlier

Found myself speeding and skipping the last 4 episodes. Didn't find the villain interesting, the story lagged so much I found myself struggling even to enjoy the mains. They were sweet but I think the story would of benefited from wrapping up sooner without the needless filler.
I enjoyed the first half but it really lost steam for me. Also disappointed that basically no revenge happened. Felt like the time travel was wasted. Could of been used much more, but ended up being sidelined.
Did also feel like armin lost if whole lot of autonomy getting with tada, when that happened it was sweet but felt like it went a bit flat.

Utter Rubbish!

This show makes you feel like something written by an 11 year old fanfic fujoshi adapted straight out of the novel without any screening or deliberation to see is anything even makes sense! Utter rubbsish nonsensical plot line making absolutely zero sense and making you bang your head against the wall for no reason. People dying, people getting paralysed and still FL (sorry but this doesn’t even feel remotely gay) is still running behind the ML!

No this is not Stockholm syndrome thanks!

.

WOW… 🥹🤍 This one really found its way straight into my heart. I was hooked surprisingly quickly and ended up loving every little part of their story.

There was something about the chemistry, the emotions and the whole atmosphere that just worked for me. 🌸✨ I laughed, I got emotional, and of course… I got way too attached to the characters. 😂💕

Another Chinese series that made me think: “Okay… what am I supposed to watch now?” 😭📺

Definitely a 10/10 from me. ⭐🤍🌸

Hands down the best period BL of the year, absolute 10/10

I don't care that we're only 10 episodes in—The Edge of Horizon (อรุณรุ่ง) is already an untouchable 10/10 period drama masterpiece! One31 and GagaOOLala blew everyone out of the water. The emotional weight, political stakes, and raw, agonizing yearning make every single weekly wait feel like literal torture!

1. The InnOngsa Chemistry & Raw Devotion
The casting director deserves an award because the dynamic between Prince Thin (Ongsa) and Phob (Inn) is completely unreal:

~ Ongsa's Micro-Expressions: Ongsa gives a heartbreaking, soft, yet resilient performance. His eyes carry 90% of the emotional weight you physically feel the desperation and boundless love Prince Thin has carried since childhood.

~ Inn’s Devoted Energy: Watching Phob navigate his duties while being ready to tear down the entire royal hierarchy just to keep Thin safe is peak top behavior. The way Phob looks at Thin like he’s his only reason to breathe makes my chest hurt.

2. Heavy Spoilers & The Ep 1-10 Emotional Damage
Set during a turbulent political shift, watching them go from childhood sweethearts to being torn apart by class divisions and royal expectations is devastating:

~ The Class Divide & Family Pressure: Watching Nual’s suffocating protectiveness over Phob and Prince Chat’s growing jealousy adds so many layers of agonizing tension.

~ Confrontations & Hidden Longing: The moment the King discovered them, plus that forced-on-the-surface kiss carrying years of suppressed longing? Genuinely insane. Every time they try to protect each other, it leads to massive misunderstandings, but the payoff during their intimate breakdowns makes every tear worth it!

3. Elite Cinematic Production Value

~ Movie-Level Visuals: The contrast of rich royal blues and golds against rugged military grounds, the breathtaking lighting, and the haunting score elevate this to a high-budget cinematic experience.

~ Side Dynamics: Even the GL side plot with Janthorn and Princess Ruethaisiri adds such a captivating layer to the revolutionary backdrop.

The Verdict10 episodes down and it’s already the best period BL of the year. The yearning, the choking tension, the emotional depth, and the historical stakes make it an absolute masterpiece. Put this on your watchlist immediately! ❤️

if you see me getting bullied by a shortie don't bother I'm exactly where i wanna be

The name kinda made me feel this drama would be more like bullying, NCs, barely any plot kinda but nah i was wrong. This was purely an psychological emotional drama about 2 broken people finding their way in life.
Sato is someone who is kinda has red flag thoughts but he doesn't act on those red flag thoughts which makes him a green flag. Goto is the opposite he was green flag thoughts but does red flag things which sato finds adorable 🤣🤣. Their relationship is unexpectedly really sweet and i really loved them but ngl i felt they should have casted younger actors atleast for the high school roles cz they just look too old for it.

I liked the ending but I still feel Sato is still not convinced and is insecure about goto's recovery and him going into the outside world.. will have to see if they'll address this in the special episodes. Overall it's good.. not the best
