Surprised for some reason

The story it self is a really unique concept and the short episodes are a benefit if you wanna watch something really quick.

The final message of this story is really cute and beautiful!

The acting was aight
the visuals gave no budget and sometimes very blurry
But the story itself was pretty entertaining!

"Don't cry and laugh at the same time"

Ms. Apocalypse began in the waning days of 1999 when everyone was worried the Y2K bug would send the world crashing down. A mousy bookkeeper who was punished for becoming entangled with embezzlement left behind the old century and built a new life in the new century with someone completely unexpected.

Yeong Mi is a bookkeeper at a tech company where she develops a crush on recent hire Do Yeong. She discovers he is not collecting the money on his truck route. Instead of turning him in, she works extra jobs to replace what he’s stolen. When Do Yeong turns himself in, she is arrested as well for covering up his crime. After her release from prison the only person who comes to meet her is Do Yeong’s wife. Yu Jin is a paraplegic due to a hereditary disease and confined in a wheelchair. She makes Yeong Mi an offer that the newly released prisoner cannot turn down.

I liked the premise of the film though I wasn’t always satisfied with the implementation. It came across as low budget and there were awkward edits with pertinent pieces of information left out or glossed over. Director Im Seon Ae put her efforts into developing the relationship between a very odd couple. Yeong Mi was given her derogatory nickname by male co-workers who said she looked chaotic. And the film’s hair and makeup department did their level best to make Lee Yoo Young appear unattractive. Yu Jin’s acerbic attitude hid her fears and vulnerability. Im Seon Woo accomplished a difficult performance using only her face and voice. Both characters had been taken advantage of and/or shunned by loved ones. The two should have been adversaries but found they had much in common, including kind hearts.

Y2K had people on pins and needles with Yeong Mi and Yu Jin suffering more from their families than the threat of nuclear war. In the new millennium*, Yeong Mi’s life transformed from black and white to vibrant color. The two outcasts gradually learned to trust themselves and each other even as long buried secrets and betrayals rose to the surface. With another woman to count on, they had substantial emotional growth and gained a friendship in the process. I wanted more from the ending and wished that certain transitions had been smoother and better explained but applaud a film that showed the healing power of female relationships.

7 August 2026

*Date Note: The new millennium and century didn’t actually begin until 2001.

WATCH IT

Ive been watching k dramas for YEARSSS, and this is by far the top 3 best shows ive ever seen. While the story may not be rooted in accuracy to how this plot would unfold in real life, its such a well crafted show. I laughed, i cried, i cringed, i got angry, i got disappointed, and i got hopeful; not many shows can do that to me but i was completely immersed. Most of all, i fell in love with the characters, and actors who did such an amazing job in their role. Definitely worth a watch AND rewatch.

An Unexpected Favorite!

I went into The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call without really knowing what to expect, especially since it’s not a romance, but I ended up being genuinely surprised by how much I enjoyed it.

The story is incredibly interesting and keeps you engaged from beginning to end. There’s so much action, urgency, and intensity that it never feels slow or boring. Every episode had me invested in what was happening and wanting to see how each situation would unfold.

I also really enjoyed the medical aspect of the story. It manages to explain complicated situations without making the drama feel like a lecture, while still giving the characters enough depth to make you care about what they’re fighting for.

The action scenes were definitely one of my favorite parts. The emergencies feel intense and chaotic, and the pacing keeps everything moving without giving you much time to get bored. I also loved the balance of tension and humor, which made the heavier moments easier to digest.

I was honestly surprised by how much I liked this. I usually gravitate toward romance, so watching a drama where that isn’t the focus and still becoming this invested was such a nice change.

And now I’m really looking forward to season 2. The first season left me genuinely excited to see where the story and characters go next, and I really hope the second season keeps everything that made this one so enjoyable.

This was definitely a pleasant surprise, and I’m very glad I gave it a chance.

I Wasn’t Supposed to Cry This Much

I decided to watch Descendants of the Sun despite seeing so many reviews calling it cheesy, and honestly, I’m so glad I did.

Yes, there were moments where I could understand exactly why people described it that way. But instead of taking me out of the story, I found myself completely immersed in it. I didn’t watch this drama thinking about whether something was too cheesy—I cried, I laughed, I got attached to the characters, and I genuinely felt every part of their story.

What surprised me most was how emotional it became for me. Beneath the romance and the occasional over-the-top moments, there are stories about sacrifice, duty, loss, friendship, and choosing to care for someone even when loving them means putting yourself at risk. Those themes really stayed with me.

The chemistry between Song Joong-ki and Song Hye-kyo was incredible, and I loved watching their relationship develop alongside everything else happening around them. But the supporting characters also made the drama so much more memorable. Their friendships, struggles, and relationships added so much heart to the story.

And honestly, there was something so comforting about watching a drama that isn’t afraid to be dramatic. Sometimes I don’t want everything to be subtle and realistic—I want the big declarations, the intense emotions, the beautiful scenery, and the soundtrack that makes everything feel ten times more emotional.

I went into this expecting to understand why everyone called it cheesy, and I came out having cried my way through the story and absolutely loving it.

Maybe it is cheesy sometimes. But sometimes cheesy is exactly what you need. And Descendants of the Sun completely won me over.

A Lot of Potential, But What the F Am I Watching?

Okay… I finally finished watching Wuju Bakery, and honestly, I’m still trying to figure out what the hell I just watched. 😂

Considering all the fiascos and delays that happened before this series was finally released, I really wanted to give it a fair chance. And to be fair, Barcode and Jeff Satur are good actors. They’ve proven that they can carry emotional scenes and deliver when given the right material.

But here’s the problem: they somehow feel like anchors holding the rest of the cast together.

The biggest issue for me is the story and the overall execution. The series feels like it wants to be too many things at once, and the result is a narrative that is all over the place. Even the language use—Korean, Thai, English—sometimes feels less like a natural part of the world and more like something thrown in because it sounded interesting.

And come on… if the goal is to attract an international audience, invest in the story and the world-building. That should be the priority.

I don't think the production needed some insane, Hollywood-level CGI to make this work. The fantasy elements could have been effective with a stronger script, better settings, more consistent world-building, and a story that actually knows where it wants to go.

Instead, it feels like the production invested heavily in Barcode and Jeff, expecting their presence to carry the whole thing. And while they absolutely did their best, even talented actors can only do so much when the material around them isn't strong enough.

There were moments where I could see the potential. The premise could have been genuinely interesting. The actors had moments where they showed they were capable of much more. But the series needed a tighter story, better pacing, stronger supporting characters, and a more convincing setting.

So, overall: Barcode and Jeff? Good. The potential? Definitely there. The execution? A mess.

I don't hate the series, but I can't pretend it delivered what it could have. After everything that happened before its release, I honestly expected something more polished and cohesive.

Please, production teams: stop thinking that putting two popular and talented actors in a project is enough. Give them a damn story worth acting in.

Hua Yong is a different kind of pervert and I love it!!!

I was a bit intimidated by the reviews I'd heard about this series before I started it, but turns out that it was all just noise!

I really enjoyed this for the toxic value and Hua Yong's utter shamelessness in his pursuit of Mr. Sheng. I kinda liked that there wasn't anything big and dramatic in the way everything resolved. Hua Yong is crazy and Mr. Sheng accepted that pretty quickly by how fast he folded.

I'm not rating this higher because Gao Tu deserved better and I cannot in any way be satisfied with that ending for them. I'll be sad about this for a while😭

So, please. Can we get Season 2? ?

I have a complete denial when it comes to watching dubbed Chinese series. 😂 And yet, somehow, Sammy’s Children’s Day became an exception.

Not only did I finish it… I actually wanted MORE. 😭

And the funny thing? It’s Cantonese! I still went for it, and honestly, I’m glad I did.

I really enjoyed the story. The way it explored the Hong Kong gang setting, especially the way they lure in this nerdy boy, was so interesting. But what really got me was the slow-burn emotion. It creeps up on you quietly, then suddenly you realize you’re completely invested. The tension was chilling, yet somehow soothing at the same time — the kind that just stays under your skin.

The production also deserves praise. Good budget, good direction, and a well-written script. Everything felt thoughtfully put together, and the story knew how to build its atmosphere without rushing things.

My only complaint?

IT FELT TOO SHORT. 😭

Just when I was getting comfortable and fully invested, it was already over. I was left sitting there thinking, “Wait… that’s it?! What happens next?!”

So, please. Can we get Season 2? 🙏

Because for me, this was genuinely good. It surprised me, pulled me in, and left me wanting more — which is probably the biggest compliment I can give a series I never expected to finish in the first place.

Good story. Good direction. Good production. Slow-burn emotions. And definitely too short.

Now give us Season 2, or else. 😤😂

I’m still rooting for Tai. ?❤️

I finally finished Love of Silom, and overall, I’d say it was okay and enjoyable to watch.

One thing that really stood out to me was the bar production and performances. The dancers were really good, and the performances felt like a full production rather than just something happening in the background. Honestly, those scenes were some of the highlights of the series for me. 👏✨

And of course, I was always rooting for Tai! 😭 I honestly thought he was going to get a side couple storyline, but he ended up being more of a supporter of the main actor. Still, I enjoyed seeing him on screen and was hoping for a little more from his character.

I also think the overall story reflects the reality of people who have experienced similar struggles — family problems, financial difficulties, and the pressure to earn more money. Sometimes, when people are struggling, they’ll try almost anything to survive or improve their situation, and I think the series captured that aspect quite well.

The actors did a good job with their performances, although I felt they could have been given stronger material. For me, the story could have used more plot twists and unexpected turns to make it more exciting and keep the momentum going.

Overall, Love of Silom was an okay watch. Not perfect, but there were definitely things I enjoyed. And if there’s one thing I’ll remember most, it’s definitely the bar performances and those talented dancers. They really stood out! 💃🔥

And yes… I’m still rooting for Tai. 😂❤️

Awful, I shan't watch another minute.

The misuse of Ko's acting skills, while it certainly pays the bills, is despicable. She was once a very fine actor and is reduced to this nonsense. Embarrassing for all. Takahashi does the best he can with a ridiculously juvenile script. I shan't devote one more minute to this waste of talent and time.
