Either people loved it or hated it

It's funny how black and white the reviews of this show are... some claim this is the worst show in the history of civilization and have dropped it after watching some episodes. Others claim this the best freaking show on Earth.
I think this is right in the middle and here is why.

SOME GOOD

1. Support characters: I like some of the supporting cast, particularly the bar owner and some of the guys who work with Wayu. They give him decent advice during the show and provide some emotional moments as well mixing some fun (like the banter between them) and some sad (when they find out Sky was murdered and then have the funeral). We have Wayu's sister, who redeems herself (partially) by coming back after just abandoning her child and leaving. Speaking of child, I liked the kid playing Wayu's nephew as he does not speak much but he provides some relief from all the adults around doing bad or silly things.

2. Police investigation: The theme has been exploited recently in other shows and in most of them, this one is no exception, the police work gets lost along the way or is just so utterly implausible that any amateur police officer would not do such silly things. However, the topic of the investigation, human/organ trafficking and drugs, was an interested one, at least when the show began.

3. Chemistry: The lead actors have decent chemistry (at least more than some other actors we've seen recently in BLs).

A LOT OF BAD

1. Support characters: Just like my first point in the good section, some of the support characters were completely useless. Kit's parents are the usual cliché in Thai BLs of parents who are cheerleaders supporting their son being gay (not the case here) or the parents (in this case, the dad) who are vehemently against it and try to do whatever they can to stop his son from having a relationship with another man. Of course, in another cliché, the father is more worried about his image and reputation BUT THEN... SURPRISE! in another cliché, he changes his mind in 2 seconds in the last episode when he meets him at school and hears how good of an interior designer he is and how handsome he is.
By the way, as a side note... apparently Thailand has not a lot of supporting actors who can play the parents as the same actor who plays Kit's dad is also the parent of one of the lead characters in "Ticket to Heaven", "Don't Be Too Emotional", and "Flower Boy"... and all airing simultaneously for a few episodes.

Then, we had Wayu's mother solving her gambling addiction in one episode and Talay's character who came in as a potential love interest for Wayu but devolved into a useless whiny character trying to win Wayu despite the latter not being interested in him and telling him so several times.

2. Acting: I'm sorry... Up either had too much botox or he can't act... no matter what type of scene he had, sad, happy, serious, his facial expressions were all exactly the same. Just slightly curling the mouth to smile was the only sign he was doing a happy scene. The rest, no change no matter what it was. Poom has improved but he also doesn't convince me in his scenes, specially the more serious ones like the police investigation or the issues with Krit's father.

3. Writing/Directing: Part of the acting issues come from the writing... the police investigation began as the centerpiece in the first episodes and then faded away only to morph into a network of BDSM and drugs, people getting arrested and then poof! all ended just like that. The way Sky dies was not seen on-screen but that could have been a worthy theme to explore more as we never truly find out how involved he really was in all the trafficking scheme.
The issues with Wayu's mother and Krit's father are lazily solved in one episode and the learning problem Wayu's nephew has is somewhat explored but again, forgotten for a lot of episodes.

So, all-in-all, NO, this is not the worst series in Thai BL history, and NO, this is not the best BL series ever created. It is just a mediocre one that could have been evolved into something great, but sadly, it didn't.

The Ex-Morning — Some Ships Are Simply Meant to Sail Together

Nine years after SOTUS, the ship that introduced so many of us to Thai BL is finally back. I wasn't expecting nostalgia alone to carry an entire series, and thankfully it doesn't. The Ex-Morning proves that Krist and Singto were never just a successful pairing because of timing or luck. They simply have something together that I rarely see with other actors.

I've watched Krist with different partners over the years, and while some of those pairings were enjoyable, I always felt something was missing. It wasn't the acting. It wasn't the stories. It was the chemistry. Put him next to Singto, however, and everything suddenly feels effortless. They don't look like two actors trying to convince me they're in love. They simply behave like two people who already know each other inside out. That's the kind of connection you can't manufacture, and probably why they became one of BL's first truly iconic ships.

The story also deserves credit for avoiding the usual university setting that made SOTUS famous. Instead, it follows two adults forced to work together years after their breakup. It's a refreshing premise because the conflicts don't come from youthful misunderstandings but from regrets, careers, pride, and unresolved feelings. Watching two people who once loved each other slowly rediscover why they fell in love in the first place feels far more mature than the average romantic comedy.

Krist delivers one of his strongest performances to date. Phi is flawed, impulsive, sometimes selfish, yet always deeply human. Singto perfectly balances him with a calmer, more composed performance that never feels passive. Their personalities complement each other exactly as they should, and every reunion scene carries emotional weight because you immediately believe these two characters share years of history.

The supporting cast also plays its part well without overshadowing the central relationship. More importantly, the writing never forgets what people came to watch. The focus always returns to Phi and Tam, allowing their emotional journey to remain the heart of the series.

The production is polished throughout. The newsroom setting feels believable, the pacing remains engaging, and the direction knows when to rely on silence instead of dialogue. The soundtrack isn't particularly memorable, but it quietly supports the emotional scenes without becoming distracting.

Final Thought

The Ex-Morning reminded me why Krist and Singto became such an important pairing in the first place. Long before "shipping" became the marketing machine it is today, they already had something that couldn't be taught: natural chemistry. Nine years later, that connection hasn't disappeared. If anything, it feels stronger, more mature, and more believable than ever. For me, some actors work well together. Krist and Singto simply belong together on screen.

In Love Forever a great serie

Ling and Orm are back with their third series, and their continuous improvement is evident; they were already great actresses, but now they truly shine in a story rich in nuance and—above all—drama. They take on the roles of a married couple, Ranch and Neen, facing the significant challenges that arise after the wedding. It may not be a fairytale romance, but the plot and the incredible chemistry between Ling and Orm—which leaps right off the screen—will keep you hooked. Their outstanding performances leave you craving another episode every day; watching them together brings pure joy, though you might want to keep some tissues handy for this highly recommended series.

I Promise I Will Come Back — A Love Story That Broke My Heart

I knew from the first few episodes that this wasn't going to be a light romance, but I still wasn't prepared for the ending. By the time the credits rolled, I was crying. Not because the story tried to manipulate my emotions, but because I had genuinely become attached to these characters. Their journey felt so sincere that every decision they made carried emotional weight until the very last scene.

One thing I really appreciated is that the drama never mistakes tragedy for depth. The story takes its time developing the relationship, allowing the two leads to slowly build trust, affection, and love. Because their connection feels so believable, every happy moment becomes precious. That's exactly why the ending hurts so much. It isn't simply sad—it feels unfair, just like life sometimes does.

The acting is excellent throughout. Both leads fully commit to their characters, making every emotional scene feel honest rather than exaggerated. Whether they're sharing quiet conversations, moments of happiness, or heartbreaking goodbyes, I completely believed them. Their chemistry carries the entire drama, and without performances of this quality, the ending would never have had the same impact.

The production also deserves praise. The cinematography quietly supports the emotional tone without becoming overly dramatic, while the soundtrack knows when to step back and let silence do the work. Instead of forcing tears through loud music or excessive melodrama, the series trusts its actors and its story, and that confidence pays off.

Some viewers will probably dislike the ending simply because it isn't the happy conclusion they were hoping for. I understand that reaction, but I don't share it. A sad ending doesn't automatically make a story bad. Sometimes it's the ending that stays with you the longest because it feels honest. I may have wished for a different outcome, but I wouldn't change the story just to leave with a smile.

Final Thought

I Promise I Will Come Back is one of those rare dramas that reminds me why I watch BL in the first place. It isn't afraid to make you laugh, hope, and eventually cry alongside its characters. The ending broke my heart, but that's only because the series first convinced me to love the people at the centre of it. For me, that's the mark of an unforgettable story.

I Promise I Will Come Back: Something Happen — A Different Story Worth Telling

Rather than extending TK and Victor's story, Something Happen wisely chooses a different direction by focusing on Victor's twin brother. At first, I wasn't sure that was the right decision because I was still emotionally attached to the original couple. Surprisingly, the special quickly finds its own identity instead of trying to recreate what made the main series so memorable.

The story naturally feels smaller in scale, but that's perfectly fine. Instead of revisiting the heartbreak of the original drama, it introduces a new romance with its own emotional journey. I appreciated that the writers resisted the temptation to simply recycle the same formula. This special works best when viewed as a companion piece rather than a true sequel.

The new cast integrates well into the universe, and the performances remain sincere throughout. While it never reaches the emotional intensity of the main series, it doesn't really need to. Its purpose is simply to spend a little more time in a world many viewers had grown attached to.

Final Thought

Something Happen isn't the continuation of I Promise I Will Come Back that some viewers may expect. It's a separate story connected to the same universe, and judging it on those terms makes it much easier to appreciate. It doesn't replace the original, but it offers a pleasant and worthwhile addition for fans who weren't quite ready to leave that world behind.

"Do you think life's beautiful?"

Just finished watching this movie. And I have so many mixed emotions right now. I cane to know about this movie through an Instagram reel, which showed a man attempting suicide by standing on the train tracks, and it mentioned you need to watch it to understand why? So I decided to give it a try. At first you will hate the main character of the movie so much that you will feel no pity for him. The story is presented in a reverse chronological order, where it takes you to the backstory of the main character. What really lead him to attempt suicide. The main character really lost everything. he had a loving girlfriend ~ who used to give peppermint candy to him. The movie projects the horrors of the South Korean civil war. At the end you find the innocent main character who is deeply in love with her girl, and cries out in melancholy at the same riverside where the group had gathered for picnic.

I really feel sorry for his girlfriend...........

I Promise I Will Come Back (Uncut Ver.) — The Ending That Finally Makes Sense

Unlike many Uncut editions that simply add a few romantic scenes, I Promise I Will Come Back (Uncut Ver.) genuinely changes how the story is experienced. Most of the series remains the same, but the extended finale completely transforms the emotional impact of the ending.

The additional scenes don't erase the heartbreak. I still cried just as much. What they do is give meaning to that pain. Instead of ending with pure tragedy, the Uncut Version introduces a different perspective on fate, sacrifice, and second chances. It doesn't magically create a happy ending, but it offers hope where the TV version only offered despair.

I also appreciated that the longer ending gives the characters more room to breathe. Several emotional moments that felt rushed in the broadcast version now unfold naturally, making the conclusion much more satisfying. The performances become even stronger because the actors are finally given enough time to let the emotions settle instead of rushing toward the credits.

The chemistry between the leads remains the heart of the series. The extra footage doesn't fundamentally change their relationship, but it reinforces why their story became so heartbreaking in the first place. By the time the final scene arrives, I was just as emotionally invested as before—if not more.

Final Thought

I Promise I Will Come Back (Uncut Ver.) isn't simply a longer version of the same drama. It's the version that completes the story. The extended ending gives the emotional journey the resolution it deserved and makes the entire series feel more coherent. If you only watch one version, this is unquestionably the one I would recommend.

Gostinho de quero mais

Foi uma delícia acompanhar essa história. O desenvolvimento do relacionamento entre Krit e Wayu é a coisa mais bonitinha. Simplesmente os papais do ano!!!
Achei linda a forma como Wayu se apaixonou pelo capitão desde o primeiro momento e como Krit estava sempre tentando proteger Wayu e o amor deles.

Uma das coisas que mais gostei nesse drama foi o equilíbrio entre ação, romance e comédia. Para mim, tudo ficou na medida certa.
E gostei muito também da forma como foram abordadas situações tão identificáveis, como a do Wayu, que é um jovem pobre lutando para sustentar a família enquanto enfrenta as consequências do vício em jogos da mãe.
Além disso, trouxe um tema tão pesado, mas tão importante, como o tráfico humano.

Achei algumas cenas meio toscas (cof cof... as cenas de dança), mas, sinceramente, isso só tornou tudo ainda mais divertido.

Enfim, Love of Silom conseguiu me prender do começo ao fim e ainda terminou me deixando com aquele gostinho de quero mais.

Season of Love in Shimane — A Pleasant Return Without the Same Emotional Impact

After enjoying Kiseki Chapter 2, I was genuinely happy to return to these characters. Unfortunately, Season of Love in Shimane never gave me the same feeling of discovery. It's nice spending more time with everyone, but the emotional freshness that made the previous chapter so interesting has largely disappeared.

The story focuses on continuing the relationships rather than creating new ones, which is a logical direction. The problem is that it rarely surprises. Instead of exploring the characters in significantly different ways, it mostly extends what we already know about them. As a result, the season often feels more like an epilogue than a necessary continuation.

The cast remains likeable, and seeing everyone together again is still enjoyable. Their chemistry hasn't disappeared, but because the emotional foundations were already established in the previous chapter, there are fewer moments that truly stand out. I watched with a smile, but I was rarely moved the way I had been before.

Once again, Japan is beautifully presented. Shimane offers a completely different atmosphere from Tokyo, and the quieter landscapes fit the calmer tone of the story. The production continues to make excellent use of its locations, creating a relaxing atmosphere that remains one of the franchise's greatest strengths.

What I missed most was the sense that every encounter mattered. In Chapter 2, every conversation and every relationship felt like it could change the characters' lives. Here, I mostly felt like I was revisiting people whose journeys had already reached their most interesting point. That's still pleasant, but it's not nearly as memorable.

Final Thought

Season of Love in Shimane is a perfectly enjoyable continuation for anyone who became attached to the characters in Chapter 2. It keeps the same warm atmosphere and likeable cast, but it never recaptures the emotional impact or originality of its predecessor. I enjoyed the reunion, but for me, the journey itself remained much stronger than the destination.

In love forever the series with LingOrm

What makes In Love Forever interesting to me is that it starts with a marriage that is already close to divorce, even though Neen and Runch clearly still love each other. Their relationship is not falling apart because there is no love, but because there is too much pressure around them — especially from Ranch’s mother, who is manipulative, abusive, and unable to let her daughter build a life with someone else.

I like that the series does not make the conflict feel one-sided in a simple way. Runch is emotionally exhausted from her mother, her wife, and even her colleagues questioning her success, while Neen is also pushed to a breaking point because she is constantly bullied and disrespected by her mother-in-law and Runch is not strong enough to stand up for her. Both women are hurt, both make mistakes, and neither of them seems able to fully understand what the other one is carrying.

What I also appreciate is that the story is not about them being two women. Their relationship is accepted; the real issue is family control, social status, jealousy, pride, and the damage that happens when people do not communicate or stand up for each other at the right time. The contrast between Neen’s loving family and Ranch’s mother makes the situation even more painful to watch.

Even after only two episodes, the series already feels emotional, tense, and very engaging. The pacing is strong, the production looks polished, and the flashbacks are used in a subtle way that makes the present-day conflict feel even more bittersweet.

Wedding Plan — A Charming Story That Never Made Me Believe the Romance

The premise of Wedding Plan immediately caught my attention. A wedding planner slowly falling for the groom he's supposed to help marry is a fun idea, and MAME once again proves she knows how to create romances built around unusual situations. The story remains enjoyable from beginning to end, but I never became emotionally invested in the couple the way I expected.

The biggest issue is the casting.

Sunny Wannarat is undeniably attractive, but I simply couldn't buy him as Sailom. The character is supposed to be a successful businessman carrying the responsibility of a fake engagement while secretly controlling every aspect of the plan. Instead, Sunny has such a youthful appearance that I constantly forgot he was meant to be this powerful CEO. He looks almost too young for the role, making it difficult for me to believe the authority the script repeatedly tells us he has.

Pak Naphat is naturally funny and brings a great deal of energy to Namnuea. His comedic timing works well, and he makes the character immediately likeable. Unfortunately, whenever the story asks him to express deeper emotions, I felt something was missing. Rather than showing genuine emotional conflict, several important scenes felt performed instead of lived. Because of that, I never fully connected with his emotional journey.

That lack of emotional connection also affects the romance itself.

Individually, both actors are perfectly watchable. Together, however, I never believed they had fallen deeply in love. Their interactions are pleasant, but they rarely create the kind of chemistry that makes you forget you're watching two actors. The relationship often feels more like two people following the script than two people naturally drawn toward each other.

One aspect I did appreciate is the supporting cast. Yiwa and Marine are genuinely memorable, and their storyline gives the series more emotional balance than I initially expected. Instead of existing only to move the main romance forward, they become interesting characters in their own right, adding another perspective to the story.

The production remains faithful to MAME's style. The cinematography is bright, the pacing stays light, and the series never becomes overly dramatic. It's an easy watch with a pleasant atmosphere, even if the soundtrack doesn't leave much of an impression.

Final Thought

Wedding Plan has an original premise and enough charm to remain entertaining throughout, but I never found the central relationship convincing. Sunny and Pak are both likeable actors, yet they never fully disappear into their characters, making the romance feel emotionally distant. It's a cute series that I enjoyed watching, but not one that stayed with me once it was over.

Amazing series

I was completely captivated by Episode 1, and Episode 2 only makes me wish it were Friday already. This adaptation stays faithful to the novel's dialogue while adding more depth to its characters. For example, in the book, Runch doesn't so openly show how close she is to breaking down. From the very first episode, we're introduced to the characters' struggles, only to end on a bittersweet note by showing how Runch and Neen first met. It leaves you wondering: If they love each other so much, what happened that made Runch ask Neen for a divorce? The director makes excellent use of the camera, capturing the cast's performances in the best possible way. Every actor and actress delivers an outstanding performance. The variety of outfits also keeps the visuals fresh, avoiding the repetitive feeling of seeing the characters in the same clothes all the time, which is something I really appreciate.
The attention to detail is impressive as well. In one of the flashbacks set three years ago, they even used a phone model that was actually released three years ago. There are no filler or unnecessary scenes just to fill the runtime. Every moment serves a purpose and moves the story forward.

"Lessons For A Lifetime" From The Last Row

What if you got the biggest lesson of your life from someone several decades younger than you? Would you begrudgingly appreciate the intervention or plot revenge?

Notes from the Last Row contains several "assignments" from a character called Lee Kang that starts with many interesting questions like these. Except this is what Lee Kang ends up "teaching" his teacher in the most disturbing yet innovative way by the end of this drama, while never answering this question.

We never find out if Professor Munho learns his lesson to never be selfish and lose his sanity for public validation and glory again. Instead, it simply tells the story of a man named Munho who lived his whole life selfishly, for the sake of writing he'd probably tell you, until a careless moment led to the biggest lesson of his life by bringing a ghost from the past he didn't even know he was carrying.

Because from the moment Lee Kang, the student he took in for purely selfish reasons to mentor, told him how he manipulated his way into his friend's home and checked out this friend's mom's lingerie and lost his rights to visit their house and Munho's response to him like a responsible adult and educator should have said wasn't to explore more of his motivations behind these despicable actions but to ask Kang what he needed to do to be able to keep visiting the same house, Munho's fate had been decided without him ever realizing it.

Notes from the Last Row was an amazing watch, thoroughly engaging with great pacing from start to finish. It utilizes 6 episodes with zero filler.

While I found the ending pretty underwhelming (explained further below), it is made up for by the whole journey from episode 1 to 6, and by the spectacular performances from the whole cast. Especially veteran actor Choi Min Sik who steals every scene he is in as Munho, as well as Choi Hyun Wook who was impressive for all the vulnerability and confidence he bought to his role as Lee Kang.

Choi Hyun Wook made Lee Kang innocent enough to not truly dislike even though it would be completely justified to hate him. I truly could not imagine anyone else playing him. Likewise, Choi Min Sik always manages to make me feel uncomfortable on screen in a good way lol. Here too he made me both unbelievably annoyed in moments as well as frustratingly sad for him in others. His display of microexpressions were a marvel to watch and there is a whole film school worth of great acting from him in this show too that makes this a worthwhile watch all on its own.

What I loved the most about this show was that it doesn't pick sides and allows all the characters from main to supporting cast to have flaws and not be either good or bad.

With respect to the ending, I personally thought they didn't need to bring in that lousy reasoning for Lee Kang's manipulation and betrayal. Not only was it not convincing enough, but it also felt like the story went back on itself and its characters because up until that point, Lee Kang was presented as someone with genuine psychopathic tendencies. It's obvious in the way he has no remorse for using people and situations to get what he wants with a genuine lack of understanding for the consequences of what he does. I felt like simply presenting him as a psychopath and someone who can innocently ask in the most sincere way with a straight face what the big deal was about voyeurism, to be the only ending this story needed. They really didnt need to complicate it by giving him a reason to do this other than the pure enjoyment someone with his mental framework and childhood got from messing with an older guy who kept underestimating him and trying to "teach" him while being completely unfit for that responsibility.

Amongst the supporting cast, Munho's wife was the most interesting (and frustrating) character who I couldn't yell at enough through the screen to pack up and leave. Not only was she in a one-sided marriage for decades, but this poor woman still cared enough about her husband's pride and feelings that she could defend him embarrassing *her* in a public setting without a single question while also apologizing to him even when she never got one in return. I felt so much sympathy for her just as much as frustration. There was integrity in her actions until she finally stops playing the role of a perfect wife (in the most disturbing and unnecessary way imo, but I could also empathize with her to some extent for choosing to do what she did).

Which brings me to the fact that this show has some genuinely disturbing moments that go beyond the usual horror jump scares but are scary because of the way it exposes the darkness and messiness that is possible within the human psyche. From moments of voyeurism and inappropriate relationships, infidelity, and manipulation, these disturbing themes are explored without any sugarcoating.

The beginning of the drama gave me major Parasite (the movie) flashbacks for the "infiltrating someone's home" aspect before the rest of the story unfolds in a whole different direction.

At its core, this is a story that explores the consequences of one's own actions and the inevitable lessons that might come from the most unexpected of sources at the most unexpected moment.

For every time Munho neglected his wife and marriage by carrying his first love in his heart and prioritizing writing over being a decent husband and person, or selfishly hoped for his friend's fall from grace while also coveting his fame and success, for every moment he projected his own insecurities and inability to learn from criticism onto his students and the people around him, from the moment he took in a student with great talent to nurture him only for his own gain, he ended up paying with all of the very same things he took for granted all his life.

It's a bittersweet full circle moment of one man's whole life coming to a complete stand still with the mirror turned right back at him. What he chooses to do with that mirror is all that separates his future from redemption or further disaster. A question, like I said earlier, the drama doesn't answer.
