Exploring The World of Thai Dramas Past BL Continues 2 Be Worth It

My experience with Thai shows has largely been through their BLs. However, if my experience with this drama, as well as Zomvivor, and Dalah: Death and the Flowers, is anything to go by, I think their thrillers are something to look into

At the beginning of this drama, I was convinced that maybe I needed to start scamming as a side hustle. By the end of it, though... yeah, I'm not cut out for this shit. Let me keep fighting for my life through my 8-to-5 job, before I achieve my dream of living the digital nomad lifestyle.

This drama is a riveting watch. It does falter a little in the middle, but the overall concept is enough to keep you watching. Scamming through religion is a thing we all know happens, but we've never gotten a look behind that proverbial curtain. This drama helps us see what that potentially could be like. It is also (I think) a bit of a fascinating study in marketing and running a business

The characters:
1. Win - I find him incredibly unlikeable. He is brilliant, yes, but he is self-important, doesn't communicate well with others, and is a terrible friend. Given his behavior, you'd think he was the only one in his friend group with family issues. His story with his mother gets the biggest spotlight, but as we can see with the other two, Game and Dear don't have it easy with their families either. Yes, they have more money than him, especially Game, but as we see, money isn't everything.

2. Game - The idiot with a heart of gold and terrible decision-making skills. I could go on a rant on how he handled that situation with Taeng, but I will not. What I'll say is, based on the fact that they had a loan shark blackmailing them for money, threatening his family, he should have thought twice before indulging Taeng beyond that initial 500k. How in the hell do you hide a fugitive in a building with your family name on it? Come on, man.

3. Dear - Naive, sad, overlooked, and overworked. I got so mad every time she was alone working late, lugging boxes, files, and shit. She needed to get those two men to lug around those files, boxes, and planning things with her.

4. Monk Dol - The surprise character for me. I fell in love with his story. His doomed love was heartbreaking, yet interesting to watch. It loved watching a religious man battle with his earthly desires. It's not often that we see this.
What makes this side plot such a good watch is that it's not framed in a horny/salacious way. It's so pure and heartwarming, yet heartbreaking. As the audience, you know he wasn't out here always having innocent 'hand-holding at the beach' thoughts about Dear, we know that. But I like that it's not framed that way.

His story sent me down a mini rabbit hole into monkhood. Growing up Catholic, I knew that once you're in it, you're in it for life. It turns out that Thai monks don't have to stay monks forever, even when they were ordained at a young age. I also learned interesting facts about forest and city Monks.

5 Ekkachai - You snake

The overarching plot, from a simple scam (if we can call scamming over 45 million bhat simple) to now dealing with big-time corrupt political officials and drug cartels, makes me interested in watching the 2nd season. Hopefully it holds up. And Monk Dol has his happy ending. I need bro to go back to his forest monk ways and live peacefully and quietly 😭.

Unexpectedly liked this

This drama had so many wonderful moments, even though I had high expectations when I started it and I wasn't disappointed!! The characters were so enjoyable and funny and the music was absolutely breathtaking, it was the main reason why I wanted to watch the drama.
It is a slow paced drama, which I'm used to and love, but at the same time I wish it wasn't so long. So many characters were introduced and they also had mini side plots of their relationships, which was rushed at the very end of the drama :(

I cried when I saw that ending, like it felt like someone punched me in the stomach, it was beautiful.

wasted potential

I wish I liked this as much as most people did. and in the beginning I really was liking it. unfortunately it ended with so much disappointment.

I loved the premise, the time travel and revenge plot. It had the potential to do so well, and started off so strong, but it ended up falling very flat.

Pond’s acting was amazing! I’ve only seen him in Fourever You before this, and in that drama he basically had 2.5 expressions the whole time lol. this drama made me realize that it was more of an issue with the direction, and not his acting skills. if I hadn’t seen him here, I wouldn’t have known just how amazing he can be when given the proper scope. this was my first time seeing Peterpan, and BOY is he handsome! the chemistry he had with Pond was FIIIIIREEEE😭 their chemistry was the only thing that kept me going tbh.

now comes the bad parts, which was a lot of things. first of all, I wish the time jump was a little bit shorter instead of 25 years. in the present times the main leads would be somewhere around 45-50 years old, since Armin couldn’t have been any younger than 20 in the years ago timeline. 25 years isn’t really an insignificant time. I’m not expecting them frail and old, but the characters looked like they hadn’t aged a single day. just brushing the hair back and putting on glasses doesn’t make anyone look 25 years older. if the time jump really had to be 25 years and no less than that, least they could’ve done is investing a little bit more on making the make up a bit more believable. it’s not that hard in this day and age.

Armin’s hairstyle at the beginning of time jump was ridiculous, and made him look like he fled from a mental asylum or something. thank God that hair was gone soon😭

the story started off so intriguing, but become increasingly stupid as the show progressed. the acting of most a lot of the side characters and the direction often ended up being lakorn-like, and it was not enjoyable in any way. the villain felt like a cartoon character throwing tantrums.

the most annoying part for me was the sound. in top of the post production dubbing that made everything they said sound so fake, the use of sound effects and bgm in every waking second almost made my ears bleed. the fact that it kept switching from overly dramatic, to comedic, to romantic, to something else constantly didn’t help either. at one point I literally had to watch it on mute for some time, it was that unbearable.

overall, this just felt like a waste of potential 💔

the only reason why I didn’t rate it lower than this is because of the main leads’ acting and chemistry. I hope we get to see Peterpan and Pond together in another series again, because it would be a shame to not utilize that chemistry again!

Social media did the heavy lifting for this drama

I have to admit, the edits going around online last month were enough to pull me back into asian dramas after a three-year break. But after trying to watch it, I dropped it somewhere around episode 5.

The acting felt hollow and that alone was enough to reframe every TikTok edit I'd fallen for. All those cute, romantic, sexy with ''insane top-tier chemistry'' moments? Just scenes written/filmed specifically to go viral, rather than to serve an actual story or character.

Then there's the ML — supposedly a feared, iron-blooded general with a blood feud and a faked death on his record…and yet somehow the most threatening thing about him was his cheekbones.
And from what I heard it doesn't get better for his dignity. The FL ends up out there handling business while he's busy looking flawless in slow motion — and the Chinese military even officially commented on his makeup. That's all I'll say. 💀

So 2.5/10 — 2 points for the cinematography and a small 0.5 for dragging me back into asian dramas after three years sober. 💀

To Think I Started This Coz of Pursuit of Jade...

Tbh, when I heard the premise of this, I wasn't sure I'd tune in. From how the people on Twitter described it, it sounded really dark. I'd just gone through the roller coaster that was 'To My Shore'. I needed to put myself in timeout before I picked up another dark show.

Then I watched 'Pursuit of Jade,' heard the drama that happened to He Chang Xi (he plays He Chu San in this), and decided to tune in out of pure spite. That was a brilliant decision on my part. Despite what the Twitter folks said, this drama isn't dark. In fact, I think it deserves a comedy tag on. The 1st couple is hilarious.

🔪Watching Chu San grow from a nervous (but very horny) kidnapped student/scriptwriter to a devoted, slightly manipulative, yet still very horny grown-up was a delight. I love how Liu Yi doesn't fit in the typical 'BL bottom' mold. He's neither dainty nor pale, naive, nor scared of everything.
While we don't see much of his mafia life, we know from the bits that the story shows us that he is indeed a very capable mob boss. He might be a little dumb in his relationship with Chu San, which honestly makes for some hilarious interactions, but outside of that, he stands well on his own.

The actors also have fantastic chemistry. And I don't just mean this because of that beautifully shot, legendary kiss scene in ep 5. Idk how best to explain it, but they play off each other really well on screen. Watching these two slowly fall in love was an amazing experience

Truly, I think the best-selling point for this show is their love story. Everything else takes secondary position

👮🏻‍♂️The 2nd couple with their morally upright cop and conniving investigator (honestly, idk what position Lu Guang Ming held) is an interesting dynamic. However, their story didn't grab me with the same intensity as the 1st couple. They are simply dropped in, in the middle of the story, with little to no background info given about them. The pieces of their story kept moving, but I remained confused till the last episode when the reveal happens...and then the drama ended😭

💬The story being dubbed in Cantonese was a nuisance - like a pesky mosquito-, but not enough to keep me from watching. I grew up watching Spanish shows dubbed in English. I simply needed to dust off the ability to ignore the fact that the mouth movements didn't match what I was hearing, and I was good to go. I will say, though, that

1. Training my ear to work with Cantonese was a bit of a challenge. But in the same way that it was a challenge to train my ear to hear and work with Thai and Mandarin. I quickly learned to hear Korean and Japanese. But Thai, Mandarin, and now Cantonese required a bit of work

2. Cantonese sounds very 'sing-songy' to me. It is so interesting to me. None of the languages I speak nor the ones I've encountered (but cannot speak or understand) come close to this.

3. I don't think the people who dubbed this did the best job. They didn't portray the emotions well, which unfortunately made some scenes, especially the emotional ones, fall flat

🎭The acting was not the best tbh, especially with many of the side characters. But since they aren't the main event. it can be ignored

Like many here, I would love a 2nd season. The streets say that the director and two main actors may have alluded to a new season. While I would love to trust the streets, they are not to be trusted. I do, however, hope that the universe gives us that 2nd season.
There were so many things left unexplained, unsaid, and unexplored.
. I wanna see Chu SanxLiu Yi's couple era so bad.
. I wanna see how Xie Jia Hua and Lu Guang Ming's relationship will progress
. I am curious about the big bad boss behind all the murders and the mafia stuff
. I think the wto couples may eventually become friends. I kinda wanna see how that will happen
. Will Chu San manage to get Liu Yi out of the walled city and into legitimate business? If so, how?

Sigh... so many questions, so little hope of answers. I am tempted to read the novel, but lowkey I feel like holding off.

All this yapping to say, while, yes, the story does end in a cliffhanger, I still think it's a worthy watch. Especially to witness the hilarity and growth of the relationship between HCS and XLY

She's just pretty

We can't chalk it all up to the reduced number of episodes. This season was very lacking in so many different ways.

You don't marry someone just because they're pretty and you like their writing. You can but that's not a sustainable or even a proper relationship. South Korean society needs to be studied. This obsession with physical beauty is not normal and it's actively putting them in a path of self-destruction. It's more than a symptom when a whole society focuses so much on physical beauty that they start to erase the features which are natural to them. It's the same as saying that being naturally who you are is wrong, that's a level of self-hatred which brings societies down. When she asked what he liked about her, he said she's pretty. When describing her to the jewellery shop clerk, he mostly mentioned physical traits: her face is small, her skin is white, she's elegant and thin. The typical South Korean beauty ideal we see pushed in every drama. Before, it used to be not having curly hair, not wearing glasses and not dressing sporty. Now it's a whole other level of physical compliance shoved down every woman's throat. This isn't a problem with this show alone but it's something that keeps popping up with almost every show. The only non physical trait he mentioned was her being an intellectual. But is she an intellectual? Just because she writes books about love?

Everything seems so shallow.
Was the end game a wedding? After all we've been through? Because it's not even a marriage, it's a wedding with so many red flags.

We see someone portrayed as an introvert, but is he really just an introvert? His inner world is ruled by a set of ironclad principles. That's very adjacent to how autistic people are usually described, with unshakable moral principles. It's like the author confused introversion with autism. Once his principles crumbled, his unshakable principles gained a new direction and focused solely on Yumi. The center of his inner world is now occupied by a person he is supposed to uphold and defend above all else. That's not romantic, that's not how introvert people work and that's half way into Yumi ending up in a domestic violence situation. When Yumi has her love cell as her main cell, the focus is still on Yumi's love and her relationship to that love. In this case, it's not his love cell that is involved, but this cell who puts a person who isn't himself above himself. That's not love, that's obsession.

This season gave us a wedding but it didn't give us a relationship. It tried to do enemies to lovers, misunderstandings to lovers, obsession to marriage. A show that broke many tropes and had a fresh format falls too short with this conclusion. It should have ended at season one. This is one more reason why I will always be against sequels. Too much of a good thing is not necessarily good.

The soundtrack is iconic. The acting was acceptable. Kim Go Eun is one of my favourite actresses and the reason I watched this show. It's sad the show fell so short. There's no need for another season. There already wasn't for the last two.

✨Khun. Theerakit Kian Lee - The BOSS of lakorns and his ETHEREAL wifey - Peacharayat Jane-kit!!✨

Hi y'all.. IM BACK!!

Me and Thee.. I can't even explain and say the amount of time I have laughed in this 😂😂.. Khun Thee, whenever I see him in my screen, I laugh the shit out of me!>> I got second-hand embarrassment more than Peach. Oh yah, about Peach, can we please talk about how damn beautiful and hot he is!!? Same thing about Khun.Thee, whenever he enters, it's like an ethereal human is waking, sleeping or talking is right front of my eyes.. No wonder why Khun.Thee fell in love with him first sight, I would too!! 🌟🌟 Other characters like Aran, his poses or models are soo good... Plus he is rlly pretty!! As of for Tawan, I didn't rlly like him in the beginning, end also kinda the same. Aran should have given himself some more time to rlly think abt his decision. Well that technically means that P'Perth has done rlly well in his acting.. Mok was my fav character in the beginning.. His faces killed me!! 😂😂 Loved the way he was professional, next he'll be a cutie!! Rome... oh yah I can't forget of how he betrayed me of not letting Thee and Peach have their time in the last episode.... Rome, when I find you!! but he was soo cute and his English in the 6th episode was so hot!! Then we have our DIVA, Lookplub.. She was soooooo pretty I wanna put her in my pocket but P'Emi already has her so 😢😢(but in my mind, she's mine hehe). She is my new fav character cuz of how kind and supportive she is to her older brother. You know what, I need P'Emi to do a cameo in 'Peach and Me' otherwise I'm flying to GMMTV.... Oh my mistake GMMTheeV hehe!! Other characters like Note, P'Nuch, Wiwid, Touch, Mim, Marn and Mork was rlly good as well. I loved Thee's and Rome's parents so so much..They were so kind and supportive to both Thee and Peach (also RomeMok).. Oh I can't forget about PondPhuwin's child, Parker. I loved the way Khun.Thee got jealous of his own child. It was soo funny.. Ok coming back to the drama, It was sooo good. The story, script, actors and OST's was fire! Huge shoutout to the production team for making every moment funny and impressive. I really liked it.. After Duang with You, this is my most favourite drama. I'm just rlly into rom-com and enemies to lovers trope. ITS MY FAV!! To be honest, I was abt to skip this drama (idk why) but I'm glad I watched it. Everything of this was a good balance. And I loved every bit of this, and I would never ever forget our Theerakit Kian Lee for being my spirit animal. I wanted RomeMok to at least have a cute moment but we didn't get it. SO now I have to wait all the way for their special episoded to release. Ok now if I keep on typing, y'all are gonna a while to finish reading this.. So I'll tell u quick my favourite episode!! (hehe scroll down now😜😜)

✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨

My favourite episode was the last (10th/ Panorama) episode.. The cute scenes of Thee and Peach made my stomach filled with butterflies..🦋🦋🦋🦋.: .: And their engagement and marriage!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH I screamed the damn outta me that parents had to wake up at night (it was 2am). We even got a RomeMok scene, I was so happy that Rome did something otherwise I would've slapped him to his senses.. As of for Tawan and Aran, I'm happy that they got own sweet ending of them being roommates.. I was crying when Thee proposed 💍 to Peach and him adopting Marn and Mork. It was soo sweet.. I'm so happy that everyone got their own happy ending otherwise I would have cried even more.. Anyways it was such a beautiful ending. ONCE AGAIN, THANK YOU SO MUCH, ME AND THEE<3 for making my Saturdays enjoyable for 10 whole weeks and I'm waiting for "Peach and Me" to see Khun.Thee's perspective of Peach. I know its gonna be dramatic..but beautiful and cute at the same time. (help I'm still at the restaurant) #theepeach #romemok #tawanaran #lookplub #note #nuch #marnandmorkandparker.. #pondphuwin #williamest #perthsanta #bonnie.. byee and we muv u MAT. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

⭐DUANG WITH YOU⭐ - The most beautiful masterpiece ever to exist!!

Duang with you is not just a normal drama, ITS THE DRAMA WHICH BRINGS YOU INTO THEIR WORLD!!🌟🌟 Duang is the most greenest flag💚.. I mean GREENEST UNIVERSE✅ that I have ever met❤️❤️.. Qin is the most diva-est person that I have ever seen since starting to watch Thai dramas/lakorns.❤️❤️ This drama isn't just something to me like I could ever forget.. It's the drama which healed me during my hard times. For those who didn't start watching this, you better should now or else you're missing a MASTERPIECE. It all started when I was watching Me And Thee (GMMTheeV) which made me laugh and have a good relaxing Saturday.. Until it ended, I was really lonely thinking I wouldn't have a joyful saturday anymore.. Then I just casually went to DMD channel since I've watched Khemjira Ton Ron and The Next Prince.. Guess what..! I saw Duang with you's trailer and I thought of watching it. OMG it was the most cutest trailer that I've ever seen so I had the thought of watching it. After the last episode (Ep-12), I started crying like I dumped someone I really loved meaning I cried for almost an hour.. Qin runnign to Duang was soo damn cute..😭😭 For those who have watched this, y'all can understand the pain we've been through ever since it has ended. Coming back to the drama, everything they potrayed in this, the actors, OST's, production and the script writing was perfection!!* I first thought that I should drop this since Duang was soo childish (in my pov), but then I thought it will be good so I kept watching and I'm sooo glad I did. Qin's trauma shown in this was really good, I even felt his pain on behalf. Duang being there for him at the very beginning shows that true love can take a while to come but after you get it, never ever lose it!! The NC scenes shown was really loving and affectionate that you can see it by their look of eyes. Only thing I'm sad about is Jamie and Marvis relationship. I know they started getting close but they should have a confirmation about them.. Oh yah about Jamie :: Jamie - Duang - Pae.. I really loved their friendship.. It's just soo nice to see them laugh and joke about all the time. But most of all how supportive they are.. Qin's band, Tong and Kim applies for the same. They have been supporting Duang to get him his diva. I ain't gonna type more since my hands hurt but I'll tell you all my favorite episode)

✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨

My favorite episode was the 6th episode since it showed their performance 'Not The Best But Still Good' (that is my favorite scene of the whole drama) and showcasing a little bit of Qin's trauma but then Duang continuing the performance was soo damn good. Him supporting his crush is soo sweet.. And their 1st kiss... Uff,, It killed me hard that I had to fall on my knees.. Anyways I'm so so so happy that I watched DWY otherwise I would be pouty like Duang.. Thank you so much, Duang with you for making my Saturdays enjoyable.. And a huge thanks to P'TEETEE, P'POR, P'NORTH, P'OTTO, P'WAVE P'THEE, P'HUGH for this drama a beautiful journey.. Once again, this is NOT JUST THE BEST,, BUT THE BEST-EST thing ever to watching. (I miss them sooo damn much😭😭, but I'm gonna go rewatch it byeee.) :) #duangqin #jamiemarvis #tongpae #kim #teeteepor #northotto #theewave #hugh (hehe lol)❤️🌟❤️🌟❤️🌟❤️🌟

BEST PROPOSAL I'VE EVER SEEN IN KDRAMA HISTORY!

Not a K-Trauma! Something about this kdrama is soo comforting and warm. Tbh, it was very predictable that it might have a sad ending BUT this did infact not have a sad ending and I'm glad because everyone deserves a happy ending after all they've been through. The casting is PERFECT, the roles fit them all so much and all of them pulled off in their roles and acting. I love how they made me feel what they were feeling in that drama because of how good everyone's acting is. I love how my two favorite female actresses are both in this drama which are Haran and Hayeong! I LOVE THEM BOTH, like I said INCREDIBLE CASTING. Hayeong is so RELATABLE of all the 3 sisters, she's funny and witty. I like how they don't have a terrible family member or no villains at all in the show, in general. But instead they deal with their problems and trauma, which is already enough that they don't need villains in their life because they went through so much. Whoever had this idea of storyline, I LOVE IT. It's so unique about this seasons and all. I like how the FL's family had their own pair, even their grandmother. It's unique to see 3 granddaughters as well and all of them being good people. I like the coffee house owner and his dog GENIUS, something about his cafe is so comforting that I'd definitely be a regular everyday. I like how most of them KNOW to talk about what they're feeling to each other, like the ML and FL. Which isn't a common thing that I see in kdramas unlike this one. They have a way with words about life that's so inspiring. The story though seemed a bit rushed though... They could've made it 16 episodes. Like Hayeong and her pair, we didn't have enough screen time with them. I liked how slow burn it was in the beginning but the ending was just not it. I was wondering when she'd know the truth and it took too long like almost ep 11 and so on, I think. But I seriously wanted a whole episode wherein it could've been our favorite happy exciting episode and that's usually in ep 12 if it only had 16 episodes more. (Haran's dress is too plain and simple though in the end, but I loved Hadam's and Hayeong's dress) But I loved the proposal!!! THAT'S SO UNIQUE AND ADORABLE. I wish more songs were played though during their sad or happy moments. Also, I sobbed every episode. It was sooo good! Definitely rewatching again soon!

Really interesting but some things weren't necessary

I loved this drama sm but the plot twist of her being xu meng really shifted my view of their relationship. I know he fell in love with her personality but it's a bit illegal to see him looking at her like that when she looks like her sister. overall the plot was really good and I really liked the second couple, I loved the OST and I have been trying to find it (so far I have only found one of them)

I saw qi yandi in Falling into your smile as su luo for the first time and seeing her come this far makes me really proud of her, I love her acting as well as ren yujie

what is the hype about…?

Maybe it’s a product of its time, or maybe this should have been my first drama instead of watching it years after getting into the genre but I really struggle to understand the hype. I’ve started this drama three times. On the third attempt, I told myself I just needed to be patient and find the right mindset but that wasn’t it either apparently.

The age gap is the strangest part, and it’s made even more noticeable by the complete lack of chemistry between the main leads. Honestly, the only remotely interesting part of this drama was the Grim Reaper and his backstory. This is one of the slowest dramas I’ve ever watched?! it took seven episodes for anything to really happen. I ended up skipping a lot and I can confidently say I didn’t miss much, because there are only minor plot developments every few episodes.

Overall, this is one of the worst dramas I’ve ever watched, which is a shame because I did enjoy the bromance between the Goblin and the Grim Reaper and I was really hoping to be as hyped and excited about this show as everyone else around me. Hard pass.

I liked it. Not my favorite, but a good show to sit down and watch.

The series was nice and I loved the chemistry between Song Mo and Dou Zhou had. I did unfortunately get bored near the end, and skipped through quite a bit, but I'll rewatch this at a later date and see if my feelings change. I am happy with the ending though, I won't say anything but it was sweet.

"You can see the world anyway you like"

Daughter does in eight minutes what longer films fail to do in two hours. Ostensibly an advertisement for the iPhone 11Pro, it was far more than that. Phones played no part except for the fact that it was supposedly shot with an iPhone. Theodore Melfi directed the film and Lawrence Sher was the cinematographer, both Academy Award Nominees.

Zhou Xun plays a mother estranged from her own mother. She drives a taxi and takes her daughter to work with her for which she is often criticized. The little girl, Dou Dou, entertains herself with a homemade telescope, viewing the world with a few accessories from the window of the cab. Not everyone complains about sharing the backseat with Dou Dou offering themselves up as temporary surrogate “parents.” New Year’s Eve and a desire for dumplings and to share dumplings offers a chance for healing.

Zhou Xun gave a wonderfully complex performance in this short film/commercial as the daughter who refused to fit into the mold her mother made for her and also as the mother of her own daughter. The little girl was adorable which helped seal the deal. “Daughter” had a compelling ending that made this old Butterfly tear up. Definitely worth 8 minutes, especially for daughters who both need their mothers and their own identities separate from them.

A BEAUTIFUL MASTERPIECE !!!

I honestly don't even know where to start with this drama. I started it last month because it's been on my watchlist for some time now, and I cannot believe it took me this long to start it! Hou Minghao was the main reason that I watched this drama, as he is one of my favorite actors, but Zhou Ye was fantastic in this as well! I definitely need to watch more of her dramas. This drama was honestly perfection from start to finish.

While the drama does start off a bit slow, just trust the process! I promise it keeps getting better with every episode. The chemistry between HMH and Zhou Ye was honestly so great, and I also just loved how they went from being enemies to reluctant allies to lovers. This drama definitely took me on an emotional rollercoaster, and I loved (most) of the side characters, especially Xiange, Bai Xiaosheng, Feng Qian Shao, Huan Xiao Yan, and Zhu Li. The young spirits in Dragon Valley had my entire heart, and I was so devastated when one of them died :((

Su Ying and Ling Fei drove me insane in this show, and the way that they are equally both just as bad as one another. I felt so bad for Lu Musheng, because Su Ying wouldn't give up on him, and she's so selfish. And honestly, don't even get me started on how Su Ying betrayed Tian Yao on the day of their wedding. The way that she never loved him and was just using him to get what she wanted?? Absolutely not! I don't even want to talk about Ling Fei, because she's honestly just as irritating. I am glad that these women got what they deserved in the end.

The love story between Tian Yao and Yanhui absolutely devastated me in every single way. While the way that Tian Yao was acting towards Yan Hui, especially when she initially confessed her feelings for him, stung and I hated that he broke her heart, I could also understand where he's coming from. The person that he thought genuinely loved him and who he genuinely loved turned out to be just using him for her own personal gain. I understand that he was scarred so deeply from what Su Ying did to him, but that didn't mean it hurt to see him break Yan Hui's heart.

And when Yanhui started to completely avoid him after he stabbed her in the heart twice to retrieve the Heart Protecting Scale without telling her, it stung, but I hate to say that he deserved to grovel for a bit. I mean, he could've just at least told her that he needed to get the Heart Protecting Scale? Especially if it was to save the people of Dragon Valley? Yanhui would've probably agreed to give it back if she knew WHY Tian Yao needed to do what he did. That miscommunication and misunderstanding hurt, but I'm glad that Yan Hui didn't forgive him right away, even if it was clear that she still cared for him.

Tianyao's death in the middle of the drama had me in tears. When he casted the Life-Swapping Spell to save Yanhui, I actually burst out into tears. I'm glad that he was reborn, though, and his "baby" dragon arc was so freaking cute! Also, the way he got jealous was so so cute <3 I loved that Yan Hui never gave up on him, and was so incredibly patient with Tian Yao as he slowly regained his memories of his first life, as well as memories of how they met.

Ok, and because I don't want to make this review any longer than it already is, THE ENDING. HAD. ME. SOBBING. Yan Hui's death and the way that she defeated the Dark Lord? She's honestly such a strong female lead. The scene where she's slowly fading away and Tian Yao is sobbing and shaking his head??? Broke my heart into a million pieces Read More

A Masterpiece

I watched because I had nothing to watch. Even my dad watched with me and he loved it! I totally recommend this. This is a masterpiece that I will never forget.
The acting is on point, the storyline is unpredictable, even the OST is amazing (it's on my Spotify Playlist!). It's also very funny, but I cried once during one scene. The visual effects are magical. there's not one thing that it's bad about this series. I could wacth this forever that I would never get tired. If they wanted to do like...10 seasons, I wouldn't mind at all
