LOVE

I really loved this K-drama. The story felt very beautiful and memorable. The acting was really good, and you can genuinely feel the love between the main characters, which made their romance very believable.

I have to say the secondary romance was a bit boring, but it was balanced out by the main couple, which carried the story. There are both happy and sad moments, but the ending didn’t disappoint and it managed to keep me hooked until the very last episode.

I enjoyed every single episode.

basic

Honestly, this K-drama doesn’t really have anything that makes it stand out. Even though I didn’t dislike it, it feels a bit underwhelming compared to other ones I’ve watched. The story is okay and it’s not boring, but it doesn’t leave a strong impression or bring anything particularly unique.

The actors were good, but I feel like the story could have been better developed. They could have gone deeper into the characters and their relationship, because at times their connection felt a bit weak and not fully convincing.

Overall, it’s watchable, but it stays short in impact when you compare it to other K-dramas with more interesting plots, deeper characters, or stronger emotions.

unique

really liked this K-drama because, even though the story can feel a bit cliché at times, especially with the love triangle, it still manages to be very engaging. You can really feel the strong connection between the characters, and the story goes deeper into their emotions, which makes it more meaningful.

It’s not a typical romance story. It includes a past storyline that adds an unexpected twist, which is what I mean by how the story suddenly changes direction and reveals something you didn’t see coming, making everything feel more unique and different. There are sad moments, happy moments, and scenes where you just want to scream or cry because of how intense everything is.

For me, it’s definitely worth watching if you want something emotional and captivating.

Easy to watch adaptation true to original story, with good visual atmosphere

Having read the manga, watched the donghua, and loved the first live action adaptation of Soul Land, this drama was a satisfying watch that was definitely closer to the original story than Douluo Continent (DC). First time watchers with no prior understanding of the story might be a little thrown off by the first episode, which kicks off in the middle of a fight, but stay invested and the plot plays out coherently after. But if you are like me, who really loved the original story and the donghua music, the opening of this drama was perfect, where the combination of the epic donghua OST, good CGI, decent visuals made me hooked from the get go.

Pros:
- I hate to admit this but I actually thought the chemistry between the leads here were better... (even though my personal bias is Xiao Zhan). The supporting cast also felt better/more appropriately casted here, be it in terms of cast chemistry, characterisation of their roles and even the way they were styled. Ma Hong Jun in DC was totally different from the original which was somewhat strange but Ma Hong Jun here was perfect (albeit thinner lol).
- Good plot pacing and plot that followed the original story closely.
- Way better set costumes and good CGI (but game-like, which might not be the preferred vibe for some people) that blended in decently and made the drama setting look much more immersive and enjoyable to watch.
- The drama-specific OSTs were not super memorable but were complementary to the show at least.
- *Liu Yuning appearing towards the end in his guest role cracked me up so much but he nailed it regardless!!

Cons:
- It's been a while since I've watched it and nothing particularly bad stuck out, other than taking some time to get used to the characters who are all played by completely different characters. And the ending only stops midway of the original story, in the midst of one the more interesting arcs so I do hope there is a sequel because the set visuals of that arc were beautifully portrayed in this drama.

Tldr if you loved the original novel/donghua, this would be a perfect watch! Also a great watch for anyone who enjoys fantasy themed shows and...likes games I guess lol (the fighting dynamics in the show is somewhat like that of games like Dota, LoL, Honor of Kings, MLBB etc.

Outstanding & Heart Touching drama

Recently finished the Midnight Series: Moonlight Chicken

🧡Bravo to the Leading casts—Earth, Mix, Khaotung, First, Gemini, and Fourth💛
Even more so for the screenwriters, producers, and the behind-the-scenes crew.

This drama was a deeply moving experience that I didn't fully expect. It skillfully addressed complex life issues, from the challenges of raising a relative and financial struggles to the pain of a love life ending in tragedy. I was particularly struck by how it portrayed young adults seeking their identity, the sting of betrayal, and the difficulty of navigating dying relationships.

There were moments that truly challenged me, with the scenes depicting the ignorant myths surrounding the LGBTQ+ community (especially when my grandchild is part of this community!). 😒 focusing on a scene that has me literally screaming ... "What are you talking about??? If your nephew didn't live with you & being a Gay uncle, he wouldn't have become Gay? WTH are you talking about? Being Gay is NOT ccontagious, nor is it a learned lifestyle 🙄 for pete sake. 🤦🏼‍♀️
This is such a common iignorance among people that truly believe that if you are around any kind of person from the LGBTQ+ community, that they will rub off on you?"
Why in the world would anyone be so ignorant, naive... or literally lacking Intelligence, even consider that the conclusion!?! EDUCATION works WONDERS! Bring your ignorance to the back of the bus or better yet ... KICK IT OFF THE BUS!!!
This part of the drama had me screaming at him and asking WTH are you talking about, you and your ridiculous sister that claims to be a parent???
Thank you Wen for being the voice of reason, which he does throughout this whole drama!!!
My favorite character ***Wen*** 😊

The ending was particularly touching; Kaipa’s tribute from son to mother was beautiful and had me reaching for the tissues. It was a poignant reminder that while it takes time to accept failure or the choices we've made, everyone eventually finds their solid ground.

Worth giving a try, it's quite good

OK this drama is underrated I swear (don't know if it was a big thing when it was airing or not though). It's the category of drama that either you love it real or you find it boring. For me, it's the former. It's bubbly and makes you smile. The angst between your cold CEO and extremely capable secretory, the CEO's absolute dominance and intelligence, ya, typical.

The story is good, and yes a bit repetitive with the entire memory loss part, but not bad. It actually influenced me into wanting to be a more career oriented independent woman 😂 But it does pull you in and make you feel attached. By the end, definitely it will leave you with a broad smile. Feel good 👍🏻

Xuan Lu and Zhao Zhiwei have a good chemistry. And mind it, Xuan Lu's character as Nie Xingchen here is like the exact opposite of her character as Jiang Yanli in The Untamed and that blows my mind even now (I'm still crying and I can't get over it 😭). The side characters are really good. The second couple were honestly interesting and had a good story. 8/10. Casting was a good pick. All the overdramatic scenes, good good good.

Yes, a story about 2 successful, modern, independent people and an unspoken bond that brings them together again and again. A good rom-com. Rewatch worthy (I've watched it twice) 👍🏻

Kepercayaan budaya Korea masih kental mengenai per-dukunan, tapi menurutku yaa nyambung2 aja siih dg dimana kepercayaannya.

Kalo ga kamu yg berhentiin, maka ga berhenti.
Kalo ga berhenti di kamu, terus di siapa lagi?

Aahhh! pokoknya aku seneng bangettt nemuin dan namatin series ini. Kayaknya kutukannya bisa digali lagi, season 2 juseyooo 🙏🏻

Fast Paced and Action Packed

I enjoyed the movie and would recommend it. It was really fast paced, and I had to slow it down to .75 speed and occasionally back up to catch everything. The acting was good and so were the fight scenes. Most of the time, the CGI was good, but not when it came to the monster. Don't sign off when the credits start rolling because there are two more scenes after the credits and both of them are separated by credits. Stay to the end.

Smart, Fast, and Funny

If you’re looking for a binge-worthy, "fast-food" style historical drama, Royal Upstart (Season 2 of 贤婿) is a fantastic choice. The best part? You don’t need to have seen the first season to dive right into this one.

The drama follows a classic but addictive trope: a modern man time-travels into the body of an ancient elite. In the first season, he saved a bankrupt family fortune. This season, our protagonist possesses the body of Wei Hao, a supposedly simple-minded and honest man known for beating up anyone he finds unworthy. He starts as a zhuìxù (uxorilocal son-in-law) for the insufferable Su family. I actually breathed a sigh of relief the moment he tore up that marriage contract—the Su family was truly intolerable!

Wei Hao (Pan Yihong) brings a distinct Gen-Z energy to the past. It’s incredibly fun to watch him "disrupt" the ancient economy using modern knowledge. His highlights, among others, include:
- Opening a hot pot restaurant that becomes the talk of the town.
- Establishing a glass factory to create "treasures" out of thin air.
- Teaching the palace how to make salt to fix the state’s empty coffers.
My personal favorite: helping the Ministry of Works create bombs—specifically using them to literally blow up his rivals' houses.

Despite the light-hearted tone, the story feels surprisingly relevant. Wei Hao comes from an elite background himself, but he uses that position to fight "societal parasites" and corrupt officials who control the government and businesses. Watching him take down bullies and fight injustice mirrors the frustrations many people feel about modern-day affairs.

This was my first time seeing Pan Yihong, and he is a revelation. Not only is he amazingly good-looking, but he plays the character with a convincing blend of humor and heart. He makes it very easy to empathize with the lead.

At only 10 minutes per episode, this is the definition of "easy watching." It’s funny, cute, and completely devoid of unnecessary angst. I finished the whole thing in just a few sittings and highly recommend it if you want a high-energy, feel-good story.

Filed and folded!

Update:

Finally finished this and I still liked it. I really like the leads and their romance although I wish we saw more of that than the office drama.

****

4 of 4 so far and this show has been saving K-dramas of late for me. I have always liked Shin Hae Sun so I was sure I will enjoy this but she really is such a treat. I love her character in this. Such a badass boss and also so funny! Gong Myung is starting to be a favorite male lead as well. They have such great chemistry. I am loving this so far and hopefully it stays good. There is obviously some office drama and mystery so that also adds to the fun! Will continue watching for sure.

A Story That Warms Your Heart

Hospital Playlist is one of the warmest and most comforting dramas I have ever watched. It made me laugh, cry, kick my feet, pause scenes just to take in a moment, and hide under my blanket during the romantic scenes. I went through every possible emotion while watching it, and that is rare for me. In fact, this is only the second drama that has ever made me cry.

When I first started the drama, I honestly thought it might be boring. The first few episodes take their time introducing a large cast of characters, and it can feel a little overwhelming at first. But once you settle into the story, it becomes incredibly rewarding. You slowly start to care about everyone, from the five main doctors to the residents, nurses, patients, and even the family members who appear for only a short time.

What makes this drama so special is how balanced it is. It blends friendship, family, romance, medicine, music, and everyday life so naturally that nothing ever feels overdone. The medical cases are important, but they never overpower the story. They are used just enough to help us connect with the patients and remind us of the emotional weight doctors carry every day. The hospital feels like a workplace filled with real people rather than a setting for exaggerated life-or-death situations.

The heart of the drama is the friendship between the five doctors. Their bond feels so genuine and effortless. They do not need dramatic speeches to prove how much they care about each other. You can see it in the way they eat together, tease one another, show up when someone is struggling, and simply enjoy each other's company. Their friendship feels lived-in and deeply comforting. It is the kind of relationship that makes you wish you had a group like that in your own life.

I especially loved their band scenes. Watching them practice and perform together added so much warmth to the series. These moments were funny, heartfelt, and often reflected the emotions of each episode. Their singing together was one of the most wholesome parts of the drama and always left me smiling.

The romance in this drama was an unexpected delight. Since romance is not listed as the main genre, I assumed it would barely be there, but I was completely wrong. Every confession, rejection, and slow-burning love story was handled beautifully. None of the relationships felt forced or overly dramatic. They developed naturally, and I found myself more invested in these romances than in many dramas where romance is the central focus. Some scenes genuinely had me smiling, blushing, and hiding under my blanket like I was watching the fluffiest rom-com.

Each character is wonderfully written and portrayed. There is not a single actor who feels out of place. Jo Jung-suk was especially unforgettable as Ik Jun. He brought so much energy, humor, and heart to the role, and his relationship with his son was one of the cutest and most touching parts of the show. But every member of the cast had moments to shine, and each character felt unique and fully realized.

The supporting cast is just as strong as the leads. The residents, nurses, patients, and family members all contribute meaningfully to the story. I even loved the friendship between the hospital director and the mothers. Every character feels like a real person with their own history, struggles, and small joys.

What I appreciated most is how realistic and grounded everything feels. There are no over-the-top villains, no unnecessary power struggles, and no doctors with unrealistic superhuman abilities. The drama finds beauty in ordinary moments. It reminds us that life is not made up only of big milestones but also of small conversations, shared meals, quiet support, and the people who stand by us.

This is not a plot-heavy drama where you are constantly waiting for shocking twists. It is a slice-of-life story that slowly washes over you until these characters feel like old friends. It is comforting, emotional, funny, and deeply human.

By the end, Hospital Playlist left me feeling grateful. Grateful for friendship, for kindness, for music, and for the simple fact that sharing everyday life with the people you love is something truly precious. It is one of the most wholesome dramas I have ever watched and a series I know I will return to whenever I need comfort.

If you are looking for a drama with heart, humor, meaningful relationships, and a story that feels like a warm hug, this is an absolute masterpiece.

It has me hooked!

There’s a real art to bringing Joseon-era characters into the modern world. We’ve seen time-slip dramas before, but they only work when the characters feel believable and their reactions to contemporary life feel authentic rather than gimmicky. So far, this drama clears that hurdle effortlessly.

Our heroine begins as a woman branded a villain in her own era, only to be swept into present-day Korea through a mysterious eclipse. After the inevitable culture shock, she refuses to crumble under the weight of fate. Instead, she seizes this second chance, determined to rewrite the story history forced upon her. What could have been a tale of survival quickly becomes one of reinvention and resilience.

Im Ji Yeon absolutely carries this series. She channels the icy intensity she perfected in The Glory, but layers it with vulnerability and quiet desperation, creating a heroine who is both misunderstood and fiercely determined. Even in a world she can barely comprehend, she never feels helpless. She’s intelligent, observant, and resourceful, cleverly adapting the wisdom and instincts of her Joseon upbringing to modern-day situations. Her resolve makes you root for her, but it’s her unexpected humor and sharp wit that make her captivating to watch.

I was initially uncertain about the male lead. At first glance, he seems to embody the classic cold, arrogant chaebol archetype, but the drama quickly hints at deeper emotional layers beneath his abrasive exterior. And when he finally crosses paths with the heroine, the chemistry is immediate: it's fiery, chaotic, and charged with tension, planting the first irresistible seeds of romance.

It’s still early to fully judge where the story will go, but the drama has already pulled me in completely.

Perfect For A Binge

Although the story is quite basic, the execution was done well. The FL is in debt and asked to be a spy at a company. She dresses as a man and wouldn't you know it, her boss develops feelings for her.

There are a lot of typical drama tropes in this as well. But I quite enioyed myself. The chemistry is nice and everyone acted well.

But this is one of those dramas where their relationship was hotter before the confession.

It was a fun binge.

From Cute Green Flag to Toxic Black Flag The Best BL of 2026!

I was completely hooked from the very first episode. After watching more than 500+ BLs, I can honestly say this is one of the best I’ve ever seen. It grabbed me so deeply that I ended up rewatching it three times in a row because every scene pulled me in even more and left me wanting more. So rarely do I ever set alarms for dramas, but I was putting my alarm on for 10 PM every Friday and Saturday just to catch the new episodes the moment they came out. Then during the week, I would rewatch them all over again. That’s how addicted I became to this series. One of the best remakes ever made.

Chinese BLs really know how to create emotional and addictive stories without making everything feel overly cheesy. What made Yichen and Lufeng stand out to me immediately was that their relationship was not the typical soft and natural romance you see all the time. At the beginning, their relationship felt obsessive, possessive, intense, and emotionally consuming, and honestly that is exactly what made it so addictive to watch. Every interaction between them carried tension and strong emotions, making their connection feel impossible to ignore.

The flashbacks showing how they first met were done beautifully and made their bond feel even deeper over time. Their chemistry is incredible and every scene together feels charged with emotion. The acting is amazing too. Yichen is soft, innocent, and emotional while Lufeng is obsessive, possessive, protective, controlling, and confident. Both actors completely brought their characters to life.

What makes this story stand out is how emotional and heartfelt it feels underneath all the intensity. From high school classmates to lovers separated by family expectations and distance, every part of their journey feels painful yet beautiful. Knowing Lufeng was forced to stay overseas for years while Yichen tried to continue his life made every reunion scene even more emotional.

I cried during the ring exchange scene in episode 2 because it felt so genuine and emotional. Yichen being the first to say “I love you” even though he fell later made the moment even more powerful. When he cried, I cried too because the emotions felt so real through the screen.

Another heartbreaking scene was when Yichen begged his brother for a chance to see Lufeng again while, at the same time, Lufeng kept writing letters and trying everything possible to reunite with him. Even after years apart, their feelings for each other never changed, and you can truly feel how deep their connection is.

What I love most is that this drama is not only about romance. It is also about timing, sacrifice, family pressure, fate, and fighting for the person you truly love. Every episode balances tenderness, obsession, heartbreak, and longing perfectly, making it impossible to stop watching.

This show truly has everything: an amazing plot, emotional storytelling, strong chemistry, beautiful cinematography, and great music. Every episode feels memorable and meaningful.

Ayden is an incredible actor!

Some dramas fade from memory after a while, but this feels like the kind of story that will stay with me for a long time and always be worth rewatching.

Honestly, this is the best BL dramas of 2026 for me and definitely a masterpiece.
