Let's just say, without the soundtrack, I would not have finished watching this.

Full disclosure, even a dumpster fire with a solid soundtrack automatically scores a minimum of 8 for me because it basically sets up the entire viewing experience. A skillful soundtrack is rare to find.

With that said, this show *chefs kiss* my god, I love the soundtrack and sound design. Mid-way through, I thought the score of slid into obscurity because of the lack of narrative movement, but the amazing score came back like a raging valkyrie to save the day in the last 10 episodes of the show. From what I can tell, each song serves as a leitmotif for characters and it evolves and changes as each character experiences new things and makes critical choices. The song Shu by Zhu Xing Dong first shows up when Cheng Lei gets his back whipped, his hair is down and unkempt, his back is a mess.
God, I loved it.
The song amplified ALL my feelings about Cheng Lei in that one scene. Ugh, he is so damn fine.

Anyway, soundtrack aside, Bai Lu. Ok, yes. If the OST was 70% of what made this show, Bai Lu was the other 25% and maybe Cheng lei was the remaining 5%. Sad, I know, as much as I love Cheng Lei, he was only as good as he was because Bai Lu was such an empathetic, well-rounded and adorable character. The zenith of their intimacy in my opinion was that one particular scene where Xiu Yao sits on the chair with Ye Li resting her head on his lap. He's bent over her and asks her "Are you lonely in this mansion?"

Their chemistry is incredible and I mean, I know people say that Cheng Lei can fire up a broiler full of chemistry with a doorknob, but that's mainly because he is a. extremely expressive with his eyes and b. his glowering expression will spear anything with half a brain and/or a uterus. It's on his co-star to actually bring life into his intensity, and Bai Lu does it with remarkable nuance. I rewatched the scene in which Xiu Yao has to retrieve Ye Li from the temple at least 10 times,as in, I hit rewind 10 times to watch the same scene over and over again, because I love how Cheng Lei complains and nags at Bai Lu, and she just splashes him with water. Goddamn, loved it.

The camera work is 👏👏👏. It's such a soft, heartfelt and emotional scene. So intimate, revealing so much depth and love. Man, someone talk to me like that and I'd never complain a day in my life.

This leads me to talk about all the ways in which this show let us down, despite the stunning cinematography, post-production value, choreography and acting... ultimately what lets the whole thing fall into the twilight zone of mediocrity is the way in which the story is told. *So much happens off screen*. WHY?

From episode 10 onwards to the end of the show, save for maybe episodes 30-35, major events happen outside our view, and are relayed through characters either flashbacking/reminiscing or literally telling each other what happened. Ugh. This is so lazy. I have not read the novel but considering reading the novel is not a stipulation and people have said it has already diverged from the novel, they should have just... cut out extraneous parts.

Why did we spend so much time on the Zuidie chick? She wasn't even likeable, like ytf would I want to watch her be a total inconsequential blob? What was the point of that? I loved the Cangbei princess but again, for what purpose?!

You might say "oh, it was in the novel". Not an excuse. We're not watching a novel. I'd just read the novel if I wanted a novel experience.

The theme and narrative devices should have focused on the core of the show... which is ***overcoming grief and loss*** , as Bai Lu and Xiu Yao have to. Losing your ability, losing your family, your loved ones, losing your identity, your autonomy-- these are all things we lose and grieve over, but instead all these two-bit characters (including the main antagonist, Jing Li!!) just muddle the theme with petty politcking and absolutely mid-level revenge schemes. No one is angry enough to be justified in their revenge, no one is smart enough to be like "this is f**king stupid". The stakes are so low like Cangbei going to war with Dachu is probably the most high stakes issue and they resolve it in like two episodes.

I wish we got a deeper sense of the Empress' moral dilemma instead of being told she is this shady character by other people, or even got to spend more time understanding the emperor-empress dynamic because *they ruling side by side my guy wtf*. She ain't no hidden regent, she's out in the open with her son!

Maybe we could have even gotten a better story out of Mo Jing Li, if he'd just actually experienced the injustice rather than us witnessing it in retrospect and listening to him whine and moan about the terrible situation he is in.

Anyway, there you go. They were telling us, than showing us and that's why this drama became *such a drag* despite having all the elements to make a solid 10/10. Instead now I give it a 8.5 because like, 8 for the OST without which, I probably would not have been able to finish this drama, and .5 for Bai Lu x Cheng Lei combo bringing those feels.

P’Cir ¿cómo crees que seriamos ambos en otros mundos?

Pues ahora si puedo decir que he concluido esta serie y que les puedo decir, la verdad sigue dejando cabos sueltos, cosas sin explicar pero sin duda se disfruta este capítulo especial que desde el final de la serie se sabía que iba a tratar sobre la relación de Cir y Phu del 3er universo (para más contexto pueden checar mi reseña de la serie) y estuvo bien pero siento que pudieron haber hecho muchas cosas con este capítulo especial y se fueron a la segura y no me parece que este mal saben, sin duda yo siento que está muy bien logrado.

Pero bueno básicamente tenemos 48 minutos donde podemos ver el cómo se va dando la relación de Cir y Phu en el universo 3 básicamente aquí trata sobre el 3er universo y como ya sabemos tenemos a este Cir que fue el que se nos mostró en el capítulo 8 de la serie y que además lo identificamos porque se amarra el cabello y que sabemos que sigue sonando con los recuerdos del Cir del universo 2 y para el sigue siendo un sueño.
Entonces cosas que destacar para mí en este universo:
-Caso contrario al universo 2 (el que vimos en la serie) aquí se invierten los papeles y básicamente es Phu quien acosa a Cir, además de ser quien lleva años enamorado de él (desde la secundaria) y que incluso lo siguió hasta la universidad y siento que pues hasta este punto es igual al Cir de la serie, pero chance este Phu si le gana por poco pero es que también se nos dicen unas cosas que ha hecho (tener esta pared de fotos de Cir además de haberse robado el poster donde sale) que pues chance con el Cir de la serie no se nos dijo tanto.
-Algo que yo pues tenía la duda y que medio lo mencione en mi reseña de la serie es que hay cosas que parece que si o si tienen que pasar o digamos similitudes entre universos como por ejemplo aquí se nos dice que también paso lo de los vasos atados en secundaria pero parece que aquí Cir tampoco le contesto y cuando Phu fue a recuperarlos escucho la llamada de Cir diciéndole a su papa que él se iba a encargar de él y de su hermano (porque en este universo también sus padres están divorciados y Cir vive con su mama aunque no se nos dice si sigue siendo la bruja malvada que describían en la serie) igual ni vamos a saber porque es la única mención que se le hace a esto.
-Si en la serie me falto aquí sin duda me dejaron queriendo ver más de Jin y Wim y es que se los juro me gustó mucho esta pareja, pero bueno cuando nos empiezan a contar la historia de este universo aquí Jin y Wim ya son pareja he incluso ya llevan un año juntos, además Jin aquí también lee mentes y Wim lo sabe, me pregunto si en todos los universos Jin leera mentes.
-Pero bueno hablando de lo que fue Cir y Phu en este universo pues tenemos a un Cir más malhablado, más directo con las palabras y de plano no se deja de nadie y vemos a un Phu que es demasiado inseguro, que es muy penoso y que nunca se imaginaria hablarle a Cir entonces se la pasa cuidándolo desde la distancia pero bueno es Cir el que termina de cortar esa separación que tenían he incluso Cir le dice a Phu "me has hecho notarte" y pues ya lo último que vemos en este universo es que se besaron y que en teoría chance aquí ya empiece la relación de ellos.

Ahora lo poco que queda del capítulo especial es sobre el 2do universo (para mí el universo de la serie) que se nos dice que ya llevan juntos varios meses entonces pues si vemos poquito del futuro de ellos que aquí si lo tengo que decir ya los vemos más amorosos, más expresivos y que sin duda no se guardan nada y es que literal se los dicen ellos se aman y pues también nos vuelven a recordar que Phu siempre va a iluminar la vida de Cir y que están como destinados a estar juntos en cualquier universo.
Dato curioso también se nos dice que Cir ya nunca ha vuelto a la habitación blanca y Phu hace mención de que cada mundo tiene similitudes.

Que por cierto aquí unos datos:
-Volvemos a este universo porque Phu (del universo 2) soñó con lo que está viviendo el Phu del universo 3 y pues según Phu es la primera vez que le pasa, pero según yo en el primer capítulo de la serie Phu sueña con el universo paralelo nomas que cuando despierta no logra acordarse de nada.
-Nos muestran escenas que creo ya nos habían mostrado en la serie creo que son digamos que unos cuantos universos de ellos que yo conté 6 o 7 pero díganme ustedes si son menos o más.
-Por ultimo ya al final después de los créditos se nos muestra que Cir del universo 3 entro como a la habitación blanca del Cir del universo 2 pero la habitación blanca del Cir del universo 3 no es como tal eso (o al menos en la escena no es así) si no que despierta en el pasto pero todo a su alrededor es como negro digamos el entorno y pues de repente llega el Cir según yo del 1er universo y le dice que lo ha estado esperando y pues ya es todo ahí termina esta serie entonces no sé qué pensar de esta escena ni tampoco sé si es antes o después o exactamente en qué momento pasa.

Pero bueno ya hasta aquí voy a dejar esto, les juro que tremendas biblias que me aviento pero bueno, la verdad es que chance si leen esto o mi reseña de la serie capaz les causo todo un enredo porque pues yo sí asigne universos a cada uno, pero si yo siento que me hice bolas no me imagino alguien que vaya a leer esto, en fin este capítulo siento que vino a arreglar un poco las cosas porque por ejemplo aquí si se acepta la existencia de universos/mundos paralelos cosa que en la serie parece ser que no y pues más cosillas pero ya hasta aquí voy a dejar esto, sin duda si se vieron la serie pues ya véanse este capítulo especial que sin duda esta bonito.

La frase del título la dice Phu y la contestación de Cir es:
-Probablemente serian tan felices como lo soy ahora.

I expected a light romance. I found a story that quietly stole my heart.

Some dramas impress you with epic battles, tragic endings, or grand political schemes.
And then there are dramas like Youthful Glory—stories that quietly win your heart until one day you realize you've become attached to every character.

Honestly, I started this drama with almost no expectations. I only knew that the cast looked good, but I wasn't familiar enough with the actors to have any expectations about their performances. After finishing several emotionally heavy historical dramas, I simply wanted something light before diving into titles known for breaking viewers' hearts.

At first, Youthful Glory was exactly that.
It was charming, funny, and genuinely relaxing to watch. The banter between Jiang Xu and Ming Tan felt playful and natural, and their chemistry never felt forced. Unlike many historical romances that rely on endless misunderstandings to create drama, their relationship developed through shared experiences, mutual respect, and quiet acts of care. It felt refreshingly mature.

Then the Marquis Jing'an case happened.
Watching Marquis Jing'an—General Ming Tingyuan, one of the empire's most respected military commanders and Ming Tan's father, being poisoned, framed, and sentenced to death genuinely broke my heart. I went into this drama expecting nothing more than a comfort watch, so I was completely unprepared for how emotional that storyline would become.

Even though I already suspected there was a larger plan unfolding behind the scenes, Ming Tan knew absolutely nothing. Watching her desperately try to save her father while feeling powerless made me cry far more than I expected. For a drama I thought would remain light from beginning to end, this arc completely changed my perspective and added the emotional weight that elevated the entire story.
Jiang Xu became one of the biggest surprises for me.

As the King of Dingbei, he carried the authority of an imperial prince and the responsibility of one of the empire's most trusted military leaders, yet he never relied on his status to command respect. Instead, he earned it through calm judgment, quiet confidence, unwavering loyalty, and his willingness to protect others without asking for recognition.

He isn't the type of male lead who constantly makes grand declarations of love.

He simply acts.

There were many moments when I wanted him to explain everything to Ming Tan, but as the story progressed, I understood why he couldn't. Every decision he made carried political consequences, and revealing his plans too early could have endangered everyone he was trying to protect.

His love language wasn't words.

It was action.

Watching this respected prince become completely helpless while trying to win back Ming Tan's trust was honestly one of the cutest parts of the drama. For someone so composed on the battlefield and inside the imperial court, seeing him become awkward and almost clueless in love made him even more endearing.

Ming Tan also won me over far more than I expected.

She wasn't written as a perfect heroine who always made the right decisions. She was emotional, stubborn, occasionally impulsive, and sometimes allowed her feelings to cloud her judgment. Yet those imperfections made her feel human. More importantly, she learned from every hardship she experienced. Her growth never felt rushed or forced—it happened naturally, making it easy to root for her until the very end.

One of the drama's greatest strengths was its supporting cast.

Instead of existing solely to support the main couple, every major supporting character had their own personality, purpose, and emotional journey that naturally enriched the story.

I especially loved Zhang Huai Yu (Bai Shu) and Bai Min Min (Dai Lu Wa). At first, they brought warmth, humor, and a refreshing contrast to Jiang Xu and Ming Tan's calmer romance. Their playful banter and constant teasing made many of the lighter moments genuinely entertaining. But beyond the comedy, I appreciated how their relationship quietly evolved through companionship, trust, and unwavering support for one another. They never felt like a couple added simply to provide comic relief. They had their own story, their own struggles, and their own reasons to become memorable.

I also found myself becoming attached to Shu Jing Ran (Quan Yi Lun) and Yun Yi (Ke Ying). Compared to the lively dynamic of Zhang Huai Yu and Bai Min Min, their relationship unfolded much more quietly. Their story was built on loyalty, understanding, and shared hardships rather than dramatic romantic moments. It was subtle, sincere, and beautifully developed alongside the main narrative.

What impressed me most was that neither couple ever felt like filler.

They weren't simply following Jiang Xu and Ming Tan throughout their journey. Whether accompanying the leads during dangerous missions, participating in investigations, helping uncover conspiracies, or standing beside them throughout the Lizhou smuggling investigation, every member of the group had meaningful contributions to the story.

By the time the Lizhou arc unfolded, I realized I was no longer watching the drama solely for Jiang Xu and Ming Tan.

I had become emotionally invested in the entire group.

That is something I always value in historical dramas.

When every supporting character has a meaningful role instead of merely existing around the protagonists, the emotional impact becomes much stronger. Youthful Glory wasn't simply about one couple falling in love—it became the story of a group of people who laughed together, investigated together, fought together, protected one another, and slowly became a family through every challenge they faced.

The balance between romance, political intrigue, investigations, military affairs, and family relationships was another one of the drama's greatest strengths. It never became overwhelmingly political, yet it never abandoned its historical identity either. Every major case—from the Marquis Jing'an conspiracy to the Lizhou smuggling investigation—kept the story moving while naturally strengthening the relationships between the characters.
Visually, the drama was consistently elegant.
The cinematography was beautiful without trying too hard to be grand. The costumes suited each character perfectly and reflected their personalities and status well. The soundtrack blended naturally into the scenes, supporting the emotions without overpowering them. While the OST wasn't particularly unforgettable, it complemented the overall atmosphere beautifully.

As for the performances, I finished this drama genuinely impressed.

Song Weilong portrayed Jiang Xu with remarkable restraint. Instead of relying on exaggerated emotions, he allowed subtle expressions, quiet moments, and body language to carry the character's emotional weight. He made Jiang Xu feel dependable, capable, composed, and deeply sincere.

Bao Shang'en also exceeded my expectations. Her performance matured alongside Ming Tan's character, making every stage of her emotional journey believable. By the second half of the drama, I completely believed in her transformation from a sheltered noble daughter into someone capable of standing beside Jiang Xu through every hardship.

If I had one criticism, it would be that some political conflicts wrapped up a little too conveniently, and a few antagonists lacked the complexity that would have made the stakes even stronger. There were moments when I wished the villains had been written with the same depth as the heroes.

Even so, those minor flaws never overshadowed my overall experience.

Looking back, I'm actually glad I chose Youthful Glory before moving on to emotionally devastating dramas like Nirvana in Fire or Goodbye, My Princess.

It became exactly the emotional break I needed.

It made me laugh.

It unexpectedly made me cry.

It gave me a romance built on trust rather than unnecessary misunderstandings.

It gave me supporting characters I genuinely cared about.

And it reminded me that not every unforgettable historical drama has to leave me emotionally shattered.

Sometimes, a story filled with quiet love, loyal families, meaningful friendships, political conspiracies, and people who slowly grow together through every challenge is more than enough.

Youthful Glory may not be the grandest historical drama I've watched, but it quietly became one of the most heartfelt and unexpectedly memorable

De novo esse tipo de historia

Sim gmm, a gente entendeu q vc quer entrar no hype de coisa de assassinato, mas precisava ser uma história tão parecida assim?
Fiquei super animada com o ep 1 achando q o personagem do Dew iria realmente ser o assassino, q ia ter um plot bom e que o romance iria ter uma pegada mais profundo e delicada. Mas é claro q ia ser ao contrário e o na verdade o mano so vai ajudar a resolver o caso e eles vao se apaixonar no meio do processo.
Apesar disso, adorei a ideia desse trem de Nekros achei bem criativo e acho q eles poderiam utilizar disso pra fazer bastante coisa. Obviamente vou continuar assistindo mas lamentando uma história muito boa desperdiçada. ( Amo vcs lindos DewTee)

What is this soul switch worth to you?

Soul Switch, body switch, however you slice it, this was an all-around fun ride. It wasn’t perfect, but it was entertaining. The story, action, and characters worked well for the most part and made for an enjoyable watch.

The strongest part of the drama was the idea of a genius conglomerate chairman getting the chance to see the consequences of his decisions, struggles, and parenting through the eyes of a stranger. That perspective gave the story its emotional depth.

Kang Yang Ho was a fantastic screen presence, both as himself and in his transformed identity as Hwang Jun Hyeon. The two leads carried their characters extremely well, making the body-switch concept believable and engaging.

The daughters were a mixed bag. The villain daughter was truly wicked, and her actions matched her character. I had no sympathy for her by the end, but the strength of a father’s sacrificial love still came through. Kang Bang Guel, however, felt underdeveloped. I kept waiting for something to connect me to her character, but she never stood out like the others.

Despite its imperfections, I genuinely enjoyed this drama. If you like a fun switcheroo story with action, family dynamics, and business drama, this is a well-paced and entertaining watch. Recommended!

Macho, nunca vi policial ser tao burro desse jeito.
A historia é ótima, amo os PoohPavel eles são incríveis. Até a porra do ep 10 todo mundo era inteligente e tava super conseguindo resolver o caso, ai parece q emburreceram de uma hora pra outra. Ninguem nem pensava em uma solução inteligente( e podiam ter várias) e deixaram praticamente todo mundo ser capturado sem fazer buceta nenhuma so assistiram.
Parça, me fala como um adolescente conseguiu capturar 2 fucking POLICIAIS?
Tirando isso, o romance é super fofo e legal, eu me caguei de medo nas cenas de terror principalmente com aquela mulher do rosto cortado, o casal do IML é inteligente e muito legal adorei a historia deles. Enfim, treinem mais esses policiais intelectualmente.

Such a Hidden Gemz!

I first saw Ci Sha in The Shadow's Edge, and I honestly thought he was more of a film actor than a drama actor. I couldn't imagine him leading a romance drama, but here I am, writing a long review about one 😂

First of all, I have this habit of looking up the actors before I start a drama, and I swear my jaw dropped for a whole minute when I found out Ci Sha and Winwin (Dong Sicheng) are the same age. Like... wow. 😂 They look so different. That's how you maximize human resources in the entertainment industry, I guess.

Anyway, I started this drama with zero expectations. It was also my first time watching the female lead, but wow... it turned out to be SO good. Like, GOOD good.

I watched it right after Moli, and somehow this drama gave me everything I had been hoping to get from Moli. After watching A Splendid Match, I can finally admit that Moli failed to deliver some of the scenes I was expecting. Like... this is how you execute a battle scene! Watching those amazing war sequences here completely healed my disappointment with Moli. I couldn't help comparing the two since I watched them back-to-back.

The first 17 episodes may feel a little slow because they're focused on the female lead's growth from a young girl into a mature woman. Her personality development takes time, and many of the choices she makes early on come back to affect her later. It may feel frustrating at times, but those conflicts are necessary for her character arc.

The war scenes in Episodes 38–39 were absolutely EPIC. Everything I wanted from a large-scale battle was there: the strategy, the emotions, the loyalty, the fear, the sacrifice, and the sheer grandeur. The choreography was incredible, and the second male lead's ending was heartbreaking yet so beautifully done. That's exactly how you deliver an unforgettable war sequence.

The final episode was probably the weakest part of the drama. It felt a bit rushed, and some storylines weren't wrapped up as neatly as I hoped. I was about to ask WHERE IS MY MAIN COUPLE LOVEY DOVEY SCENE??? But then they gave us the extra chapter (seriously, don't skip it, it's adorable... and a little sexy too 😏), so I'll forgive the writers lol.

The acting is excellent, the OST is beautiful, and although the pacing might feel slow for some viewers, please keep watching until around Episodes 18–23. That's when everything starts coming together, and the story really takes off.

I didn't like Ye Xian at first, but he ended up becoming one of the best supporting characters. He literally sent his own army to help them and fought alongside them. He deserved a much happier ending with his new little girl.

The drama does use some familiar historical C-drama tropes, the evil (?) stepsister fighting over the dowry, the useless father, the twisted (?) stepmother, beautiful women surrounded by lots of admirers but somehow it still feels fresh enough to keep you invested.

The political storyline is surprisingly engaging, and the villain is fantastic. I previously watched the actor in The Guilty, and honestly, he was born to play villains.

Ci Sha's character and Ren Min's character have completely different personalities and objectives, and I loved how naturally they portrayed that contrast. Their chemistry was amazing, even though they're only two years apart in real life.

Overall, A Splendid Match is such a hidden gem. It has one of the best war sequences I've seen in a historical C-drama (seriously, two episodes of epic battles!), solid political intrigue, great performances, and a lead who's allowed to be flawed, make mistakes, and grow instead of being unrealistically overpowered from the start.

Give it a try! You might end up loving it as much as I did.

You want answers? No. Have a clue that leads nowhere! Oh, and it's a nationwide conspiracy now.

So, I might not get on with Chinese dramas that are longer than, say, 25 episodes. This is just the latest example -- and if I could, I would not give a rating with this review at all.

So, on the technical side, this drama is fine. The actors do a good job. I like the clothes that look as if they are actually made of cloth instead of a wisp of nothing; They get wrinkles, have texture and weight. The sets are slightly overdone but serviceable.

But after stalling for two weeks on episode 21, I have to admit defeat.

The first arc was beautiful. I loved the characters and their character delevopment. The romance progression was nicely done and well integrated into the overall plot. The background setting made sense. I liked that it seemed to focus on events in a town of regional importance; a refreshing difference from all the court dramas.
I liked it as a business drama with a revenge plot, cleverly hidden in a wuxia skin. There were fighting scenes, but they were never the focus; instead we got a main character whose only talent lies in his wits.
The characterizations and their development went forward at a steady pace and made sense within the narrative.

The second arc was already much less interesting. The main character is just too flawless, especially given his age. The stakes seem higher, but actually are not. The plotting and counter-plotting feel repetetive. The plot distached from any character development for me, and that was a bad sign already.

And then the next antagonist appeared in episode 20, and I was bored by him as soon as he opened his mouth. Another of the same, and much less of a *character* than the previous two antagonists.
Instead of developing things steadily as they did in the first arc, the screenplay hit us with a few plot twists coming out of nowhere -- felt like Chekhov's gun went off when we didn't even know it had been there.
Also, the script made it obvious that this or the last arc would make it to nation level -- I gave up.
I'm not willing to watch another 15 episodes just to see the same things again.

If the writer had wrapped things up after the first arc, this would have been a solid, tightly-written, enjoyable watch. Instead, they chose to do a Dragonball-move and escalate things without cause.
Or maybe I am just not cut out for these overly long Chinese dramas.

Overrated

Taejoo, a rich heir, and his live-in bodyguard and only friend Gook, get closer after he sets up Gook with someone.

What I Hate
The writing is genuinely awful. It makes no sense, the plot holes are massive. Why does Taejoo need a live-in bodyguard? What is their relationship? Why did the restaurant owner ask sex positions to high schoolers? WHY DO THEY SLEEP IN THE SAME BED???? Okay so apart from my million questions the writing is also lacklustre, it’s super predictable and they don’t feel like real people.

What I Like
The acting is incredible and the leads have so so much chemistry. (wasted chemistry imo)

This is a prequel to the story in the first anthology. I really wish it had been a sequel, but I enjoyed it for what it was. It was odd with the retcon (seemed to just starting a relationship vs they were a long term established couple) and why didn't a character go to the police?

This series touched something deep in me. It might not be the most logical or even the best series out there, but it managed to reach my heart. Despite being so short, it made me cry, something very few series have ever done. I felt the pain, the helplessness of losing someone who was your entire world, and the crushing reality of not being able to repay what they’ve done for you.

It reminded me so much of My Heart is Broken by Evanescence. If I were Jae Woo, that song would be the one I identified with the most. Yes, the plot was confusing and could have been better, but it still delivered the anguish, the despair, and the helplessness. I’ve never personally experienced a moment like that, yet this series shattered my heart into tiny pieces.

What I Liked

1. Actor’s chemistry: The leads had incredible chemistry. Their tender, cute moments felt genuine, and I cherished them as much as Jae Woo did. Watching Ji Hoon slowly realize who Jae Woo was made their interactions even more meaningful.

2. Acting strength: Despite the budget, the acting carried the series. The emotions, anguish, confusion, hope, love, and finally pain, were delivered flawlessly. If the acting had been weak, I wouldn’t have cried, but these two leads are truly talented.

3. OST: Musically, this was one of the best BL soundtracks I’ve heard. The vocals were powerful, and the music amplified the emotions, leaving me with a bittersweet ache that lingered long after the final episode.

What I disliked

1. Confusing plot: I never fully understood how Jae Woo ended up in the past or the mechanics of the story. That lack of clarity weakened the narrative.

2. Ji Hoon’s lack of intelligence: If I knew I would be killed because I was disarmed I would literally go with something, to at least fight for my life and his. Literally a f#$#@#$ng shovel or a timely call to the cops could've been the salvation we needed for this couple. Yet, Instead, my friend turned himself in to Natural Selection.

3. Rushed ending: By now, you can guess I wasn’t happy with the ending. Ji Hoon’s acceptance of death was heartbreaking, but the finale also felt cramped and rushed. This story needed at least 12 episodes to breathe.

Conclusion:

I loved this series, it was a voyage across a sea of emotions. Short, but powerful. My heart still hurts, and I’m still crying. Even though the story wasn’t perfect, it delivered the raw feelings it set out to portray.

Would I recommend it? ABSOLUTELY.
Would I rewatch it? Maybe someday, but I’m not even sure if I would even dare to do that. It hurts AS F##### HELL.
