Beautiful story through and through
Just finished it and I am currently an emotional mess this drama had everything from comedy to romance to drama to political intrigue it had me hooked. I will say when it hit the late 20s my interest was dying but they had an amazing fight scene that reeled me back in immediately.From 30 onwards get your tissues ready folks cause the tears will not stop. Thank you to all the actors and actresses involved in this drama from main to support they carried this drama with such amazing acting I thought this was happening right before my eyes. My girl Meng Ziyi should not see a day of hate on her acting after this masterpiece the emotions she conveyed were so raw and real that I felt them all through a screen. I also have to give flowers to Xu Zhengxi/Jeremy Xu wow that guy had me feeling all kinds of emotions I have never felt so strongly about a charscter before in my life. His performance at the end of the drama was breathtaking it had me at the edge of my seat in suspense and tears I will for sure be tuning into more of his work.
If OSTs are what really make you stay for a drama let me tell the OSTs were jaw dropping I have to give it to the editors for knowing when to put which OST because it made every scene more captivating. in the last 6 episodes there wasn’t a single OST that didn’t instantly get me into the mood I don’t know if this was intentional but the lyrics of the OSTs that played matched the scenes perfectly it was as if it was the inner monologue of the character in said scene.
My final conclusion is this is one of the best historical/costume drama of 2026 I highly recommend this to anyone who thinks of watching it.

Four stories that were half-good, half-bad
As a compilation, Close to You feels like your average K-BL anthology: visually appealing but held back by inconsistent writing. While some stories stand out on their own, others lack the charm and substance to leave a lasting impression. Here’s my ranking from favorite to least favorite.Friendship Bracelet.
What an insane plot twist paired with such a remarkable concept. I only started watching this show because of Kim Jeong Seok, and fortunately, he ended up starring in the strongest story of the four. This episode had the most unique premise, blending romance and fantasy in a way that felt surprisingly effective despite its short runtime. The idea of a rainbow-colored bracelet that lets you travel back in time with a flick was both cute and creative. However, the real highlight was the reveal that the other guy had been using the bracelet first, repeatedly going back in time just to confess his feelings to his best friend. That twist was genuinely brilliant. I really enjoyed how simple yet emotionally powerful the story was. My only complaint is that dry kiss did absolutely nothing for me.
Last Diary.
I am a sucker for tragic romance, and this episode delivered exactly that. It starts with a charming enemies-to-lovers dynamic, supported by solid chemistry and a believable relationship development. Then it hits you with the heartbreaking revelation that one of them has been hiding a terminal illness all along. Watching someone slowly fall in love, only to be left behind without ever knowing the truth,w as incredibly painful. In the end, he becomes the only one left to remember the brief yet unforgettable moments they shared in that house. It was bittersweet, emotionally devastating, and beautifully executed.
Riding A Bicycle.
Unfortunately, this episode felt as stagnant as the bicycle itself. While I appreciated the story’s key ideas, the chemistry between the leads never really clicked. The pacing also lost momentum halfway through, making the entire episode feel flat. At least it gave us a heartfelt confession between two best friends before they went their separate ways for college. That emotional payoff saved an otherwise underwhelming story.
Sunset Boulevard.
This was easily the weakest episode. Very little actually happens. It’s mostly a flashback followed by two former schoolmates reuniting after years of ghosting. Their reunion should have been emotionally charged, but instead, we get a cup of lukewarm coffee spilled on them before they casually talk about the past. By the time they finally confess their feelings, the episode is already ending. There simply wasn’t enough buildup to make the reunion feel satisfying.
Overall, Close to You is a mixed bag. A couple of stories significantly elevate the anthology, while the weaker ones drag its overall quality down. I appreciate the creativity behind the individual concepts, but I hope they move away from cramming multiple unrelated stories into such short episodes. Rather than feeling like a cohesive web series, it ends up resembling a collection of rushed short films. The potential is there, but it just needs more room for each story to actually breathe.

One of the best dramas of the year
I HATE THIS SHOW SO SO MUCH 😭😭😭 I have never cried at a show as much as I have this. Absolutely beautiful. It's so beautiful I hate it. One of the best dramas I have ever watched. At the start, I thought this was more of a drama that focuses on the romance and isn't really plot-heavy, but when I tell you I have never cried at the last 10 episodes as I have this show. I dare anyone to ever hate on my girl Meng ZiYi's acting ever again. The emotions she conveyed were so amazing, I felt as if I were her, and I was feeling exactly what she was. Dare I say this should become her representative work, even better than Blossom. Despite this being HeYu's first main historical role, he absolutely killed it. If there were any historical I'd recommend to someone, it's this. I'm still crying as I'm writing this that's how emotion-filled these episodes were. A Story Filled With Palace Intrigue & Mystique!!
“The East Palace” promises intrigue, mystique and horror wrapped in the midst of palatial politics!!Assuredly, this show doesn’t shy away from portraying bloodlust, fury and unwarranted violence. The show opens with the horrific news of the Crown Prince dropping dead. We were given a pale glimpse into the palace history where heirs have been dying mysteriously for the past 30 years. And yet, the King only decides to investigate this horrid reality, only when his last born child is dying. You will question his logic, as he picks up a deadbeat shaman and brings him to the palace forcibly. The said shaman is told to investigate and vanquish the spirit causing the prince’s death. In return, the King offers his own exiled daughter as assistance. Every time the shaman enters the ghost realm, it is a test of his resilience and strong will. As he unwraps layer after layer of palace intrigue, the secrets pertaining to the royal family start to tumble out of the closet.

Too simple
Very simple story with no detailed plotline. The story ends without even feel like the beginning.Acting was okay. But the plotline seem to have missed something and also the story should have extended a bit. Tho it shows cheating and all which i dont liked much but yeah still some detailed should have been shown.The dialogues are average and the plotline seem to have missing out on so many things. Boss Lady vs. Mr. Narcissist
I had a lot of fun watching this mini drama. The story follows a woman who loses her memory after an accident and is manipulated by her father and stepmother into marrying the male lead, who wants nothing to do with her because he believes her father is a thief. Everything changes when she suffers another accident, regains her memories, and decides she wants a divorce instead. Suddenly, the once arrogant and narcissistic male lead finds himself terrified of being the one left behind. From there, the drama balances romance, comedy, and revenge surprisingly well while the female lead works to uncover the truth behind her mother's death.The female lead is easily the highlight of the drama. She's intelligent, confident, and knows exactly what she wants. Instead of waiting for someone to save her, she takes control of her own life and goes after the people who wronged her. Watching her outsmart her father and stepmother was incredibly satisfying. Fan Luo Qi was perfectly cast, bringing both elegance and charisma to the role.
The male lead, on the other hand, is impossible to take seriously at first. He's incredibly vain, self-obsessed, and frustrating because of how badly he treats his wife based on a misunderstanding. However, once he realizes the truth and accepts that he genuinely loves her, he completely changes direction. Watching him awkwardly try to win her back, willingly embarrass himself, and learn how to be a better husband was both hilarious and surprisingly charming. His performance carries much of the comedy, and he fully commits to every ridiculous moment.
One of the biggest surprises was how well the supporting cast was written. The second male lead was an absolute green flag, making it impossible not to root for him, while the second female lead, although annoying at times, still maintained her dignity and self-respect by the end. The real scene-stealer, though, was the male lead's secretary. Every time he appeared, he made an already funny scene even better, and his reactions to his boss were priceless.
The romance isn't the drama's strongest point. At times, it feels like the comedy takes priority over building emotional depth, and I wished there had been a clearer distinction between the male lead's guilt and his actual love for the female lead. Still, their chemistry was enjoyable, and the lighter moments between them made the relationship entertaining to watch.
Overall, this is a fun, fast-paced mini drama with a strong female lead, a hilariously narcissistic male lead, lovable supporting characters, and plenty of comedy. It doesn't try to be overly dramatic or complicated, and that's exactly what makes it such an enjoyable watch. It's the perfect choice when you're looking for something lighthearted with just enough romance, mystery, and laughs to keep you entertained.

The dumbest twist ever
This show tried so hard -and failed- to be this mysterious crime drama where we sit on the edge of our seats trying to solve the mystery of the poisoned drink, where in fact it was more than obvious that the victim is not really a victim and there is an obvious twist.I can't believe i stuck to it while knowing exactly how it will go, from the moment the first suspect exposed the first secret and i definitely knew who was behind everything.
The second twist -in the last scene- was also exposed but in the very very beginning when the photographer was talking about how boring weddings are and how there is nothing "interesting" ever happens.
The show had only one job, and it did it miserably...

Last Twilight, benim için yalnızca romantik yönüyle değil, ele aldığı konularla da diğer BL dizilerinden ayrılan bir yapım oldu. Görme kaybı, bağımsızlık, toplumun önyargıları, suçluluk duygusu ve hayata yeniden tutunmak gibi ağır konuları işlerken izleyiciyi boğmaması en güçlü yanlarından biriydi. Duygusal sahnelerle eğlenceli anlar arasındaki denge oldukça başarılıydı. Dizinin en etkileyici tarafı, görme engelliliğini yalnızca acıma duygusu yaratmak için kullanmamasıydı. Day’in yaşadığı korku, öfke ve çaresizlik gerçekçi bir şekilde anlatılırken, karakter hiçbir zaman tamamen güçsüz gösterilmedi. Onun zamanla kendi hayatı üzerinde yeniden söz sahibi olması, bağımsız hareket etmeyi öğrenmesi ve sınırlarını başkalarının belirlemesine izin vermemesi çok güzel işlendi.Mhok’un Day’e yaklaşımı da diziyi özel yapan detaylardan biriydi. Ona acımaması, her istediğini yaparak bağımlı hâle getirmemesi ve gerektiğinde açık sözlü davranması ilişkilerini daha anlamlı kıldı. Mhok, Day’in yerine yaşamaya çalışmadı; onun kendi başına yaşayabilmesi için yanında durdu. Bu yüzden aralarındaki bağ sadece romantik değil, aynı zamanda karşılıklı gelişime dayanan güçlü bir ilişkiydi.
Day’in de Mhok’u geçmişi yüzünden yargılamaması çok önemliydi. İki karakter de toplum tarafından farklı nedenlerle etiketlenmişti. Day yalnızca görme engelli biri, Mhok ise yalnızca eski bir mahkûm olarak görülüyordu. Ancak ikisi birbirine bu etiketlerin ötesinden bakmayı başardı. Küçük dokunuşlar, bakışlar ve konuşmalar bile romantik bir anlam taşıyordu. Özellikle sahil sahnesi, dağ yolculuğu ve Day’in Mhok’un yüzünü görebilmek için çabaladığı anlar dizinin en unutulmaz sahneleriydi.
Sahil bölümünde verilen mesaj beni çok etkiledi. Day’in göremese bile denizin, kumun ve dünyanın aynı kaldığını fark etmesi, dizinin temel düşüncesini çok güzel özetliyordu. Görme yetisini kaybetmek, hayatın bütün güzelliklerini kaybetmek anlamına gelmiyordu. Ses, koku, dokunma ve hissetme üzerinden de hayatla güçlü bir bağ kurulabileceği çok zarif bir şekilde anlatıldı.
Son Alacakaranlık Dağı bölümü ise bana göre dizinin en güçlü bölümüydü. Dağa tırmanmak, Day’in yalnızca fiziksel bir engeli aşması değildi. Kendi korkularının, özgüvensizliğinin ve insanların onun adına çizdiği sınırların üzerine çıkmasını simgeliyordu. Zirveye ulaştığı an, karakter gelişiminin doruk noktasıydı. Görme yetisini tamamen kaybetmeden önce gördüğü son kişinin Mhok olması da sahneyi hem romantik hem de çok hüzünlü yaptı.
Oyunculuklar dizinin en büyük artılarından biriydi. Sea, Day karakterinin öfkesini, kırılganlığını ve içsel gücünü oldukça doğal yansıttı. Göz teması kurmadan duyguları aktarabilmesi gerçekten etkileyiciydi. Jimmy ise Mhok’un dışarıdan sert görünen ama içinde büyük bir hassasiyet taşıyan yapısını çok başarılı canlandırdı. Özellikle küçük mimikleri ve Day’e bakışları karakterin duygularını açıkça hissettirdi. Jimmy ve Sea arasındaki kimya da romantik sahneleri daha etkili hâle getirdi.
Görüntü yönetimi de dizinin atmosferini güçlendirdi. Sahil, dağ ve dış mekân sahneleri oldukça güzel çekilmişti. Renkler, ışık kullanımı ve yakın planlar duygusal anların etkisini artırıyordu. Özellikle romantik sahnelerde yalnızca diyaloglara değil, dokunuşlara ve beden diline de önem verilmesi dizinin daha samimi hissettirmesini sağladı.
Dizinin en zayıf tarafı ise son bölümlerde yaşanan ayrılıktı. Mhok’un hatalı davranışı eleştirilebilir olsa da, bu davranışın altında ablasını kaybetmesinden kalan travma vardı. Day’in onu dinlemeden ilişkiyi bitirmesi bana fazla sert geldi. Üstelik üç yıllık zaman atlaması gereksiz derecede uzundu. Onca güçlü gelişimin ardından çiftin bu kadar uzun süre ayrı kalması, hikâyenin duygusal akışını zayıflattı.
Finalde Day’in yeniden görmeye başlaması konusunda da karışık hissettim. Elbette onun adına sevindirici bir gelişmeydi. Ancak dizinin büyük bölümü, görme yetisi olmadan da bağımsız ve mutlu bir hayat kurulabileceğini anlatmıştı. Day’in görme yetisini geri kazanmadan da hayatına devam ettiğini görmek, dizinin vermek istediği mesajı daha güçlü hâle getirebilirdi.
Finali kusursuz olmasa da Son Alacakaranlık benim için çok özel bir dizi olarak kaldı. Anlamlı mesajları, güçlü karakter gelişimi, etkileyici oyunculukları ve Mhok ile Day arasındaki doğal uyum sayesinde uzun süre unutamayacağım bir yapım oldu. Bazı sahneleri gerçekten içime işledi. Özellikle ilk dokuz bölüm benim için neredeyse kusursuzdu. Final konusunda hayal kırıklığı yaşamış olsam da, dizinin genel değerini azaltacak kadar kötü bulmadım.

A Beautiful Reminder to Live in the Present
Yesterday Once More is a simple yet meaningful coming-of-age film that quietly leaves a lasting impression. At first, it seems like a familiar story about an academically perfect student and a carefree boy from a completely different world, but it gradually becomes something much deeper. Rather than focusing on romance alone, the film explores youth, family expectations, academic pressure, dreams, and the uncertainty of growing up.What I appreciated most was how relatable the characters felt. Each of them is struggling with expectations, whether from their families, society, or themselves. The film does a wonderful job of showing the conflict between pursuing your dreams and choosing the safer path that promises stability. It's a reminder that the future isn't fixed and that sometimes taking risks is necessary to truly live the life you want.
The performances were another highlight. Bai Jingting once again delivers a heartfelt and natural performance, making it easy to connect with his character. The chemistry between the leads feels genuine, and their relationship helps each of them grow in believable ways. I only wish some of the supporting characters had been explored further, as they had stories that deserved a little more screen time.
The pacing is a little quick, and there were moments where I wanted the film to slow down and spend more time with its characters. Even so, it never loses sight of its message. The ending isn't the typical fairy-tale conclusion, but it feels hopeful and fitting for the story it wants to tell.
Overall, Yesterday Once More*is a heartfelt and uplifting film about living in the present, appreciating the people around you, and finding the courage to choose your own path. It may be simple, but its message stays with you long after it ends.

I know a some people love this drama, but it just wasn't for me.The biggest issue I had was the relationship between the main characters. I found the female lead's devotion to the male lead excessive, while the male lead was often cold, dismissive, and emotionally insensitive. Instead of showing steady growth in their relationship, he repeatedly pushed her away, yet somehow expected her feelings to remain the same and it does like what !!!!!!.
As the story went on, it became very predictable. The female lead continued chasing after him, he kept rejecting or ignoring her, and the cycle repeated for most of the drama. but keep here around just like a back up or a reserve.By the time the ending arrived, it felt like only a few words or gestures from the male lead were enough to win her, which wasn't very satisfying insted what came to me is annoyance on how that turn out. i rradder mush like the highshool friend to be with the FL because tough out he series he is the the that has a character growth and we can all see that he really like her .
Overall, I can understand why some people enjoy Playful Kiss, especially if they like the classic tsundere romance trope. But for me, the romance felt more frustrating than heartwarming, making it a drama I'd only watch once.

Véritable Reflet de la société
« Teach You a Lesson » est un k-drama vraiment unique en son genre.Il reflète a la minutie les différents aspects du système éducatif sud-coréen ainsi que ces problèmes.
Chaque épisode est parfaitement bien construit de la mise en contexte à la conclusion, ils nous font prendre conscience du danger qui peut planer sur les enfants mais aussi sur les enseignants.
Ainsi on s’identifie très facilement à ce drama et on remarque que notre système scolaire révèle lui aussi ces propres limites.
Du côté des acteurs on a un Lee Seong-Min touchant et déterminé à atteindre son objectif, il est parfait dans ce rôle de ministre de l’éducation.
De plus on a Kim Moo-yeol confiant, sûr de lui et prêt à tout pour protéger aussi bien enfants qu’enseignants.
Cependant j’aurais aimé que l’on ai un développement plus approfondi de Im Han-rim campé par Jin ki-joo ainsi que celui de Bong Geu-dae incarné cette fois ci par Pyo Ji-hoon.
En conclusion ce drama est une suite spirituelle de juvénile justice, aussi bien sûr l’essence de la série que sur son bon casting.

The story and photography in the trailer piqued my interest, but I hadn't seen So Ji Sub in action yet... I was glued to the screen until the end, never letting go! Now I'm trying to see all his work because I think he's one of the most versatile actors in Korean cinema. He can switch from comedy to thriller in the blink of an eye and NEVER loses credibility!! Breaking Free from the Cage
Hook Bait is much darker than I expected. While it is marketed as a romance, the story is driven far more by family power struggles, corporate intrigue, and the female lead's fight to reclaim her freedom than by the romance itself. The relationship between the leads develops quietly, but the emotional core of the drama is watching people break free from years of manipulation and abuse.One thing viewers should know before starting is that this drama contains scenes of domestic violence and psychological abuse. The second male lead is genuinely unsettling, and the actor delivers such a convincing performance that every scene with him feels uncomfortable to watch. The abuse isn't romanticized, though. Instead, it highlights the lasting effects of trauma, not only on the female lead but also on the family itself. The second son is clearly shaped by years of emotional abuse from his father, while the eldest son chooses to distance himself from the family entirely in order to build a life on his own terms. It creates a believable picture of how toxic family dynamics leave scars on everyone involved.
I also appreciated that the female lead never gives up. She isn't portrayed as someone waiting to be rescued. Despite everything she endures, she continues to fight for her independence and refuses to let her circumstances define her. The male lead complements her well with his calm intelligence and steady support rather than overshadowing her journey.
Visually, the drama is beautiful, and both leads deliver strong performances. My only disappointment was the romance, which never becomes as emotionally satisfying as I had hoped. Considering the chemistry and talent of the leads, their relationship feels surprisingly restrained because the business and family conflicts take center stage throughout most of the story. I also wish some of the supporting characters had received more development instead of serving mainly the central conflict.
Overall, Hook Bait is less of a romance and more of a psychological family drama wrapped in corporate intrigue. It's an emotional watch with difficult themes, but it ultimately delivers a satisfying ending centered on healing, justice, and finding the courage to break free from abuse.

i give it 9.5 points only because it ended CRIES
First of all the actors, oh my god they were all so amazing the characters they all became my family.The story, both the big picture and the cases were amazing i cried in most of them.
Directing, I loved it especially. they did amazing with the short episodes it was so enjoyable to watch, it was so easy and the atmosphere, the outfits, all were beatiful.
Music, this is how you know this is not just a bromance but they LOVE each other the amount of soft cozy bgms in this i love it so much.
Overall, it was just like a cozy night breeze of a series. I enjoyed every moment of it. I WANT MORE OF IT.

It is an open ending but it's personally not a problem for me, it was still an amazing ride and I for sure rewatch it. again.
SO YES the final arc was rushed, it has an open ending, it only proves that they have so much to tell and i can only hope that they can have the resources for it. I would watch ten seasons of this.

A Great Idea That Never Reached Its Potential
I had mixed feelings about this drama. The premise immediately caught my attention because the combination of a Republican-era setting and supernatural elements felt fresh and different. Unfortunately, while the concept had a lot of potential, the execution never quite lived up to it.The story often felt unnecessarily convoluted, repeatedly going in circles instead of steadily moving forward. By the end, the conclusion was more or less what I had expected from the beginning, yet I still felt that parts of the backstory and mythology weren't explained clearly enough. The plot also shares many similarities with *Tale of the Nine Tailed*, particularly the central premise and the dynamic between the three main leads. Because of that, viewers who haven't seen that drama may find themselves even more confused by the story.
The male lead was easily the strongest aspect of the series. Shen Hao Nan delivered a solid performance and did his best with the material he was given, but even he couldn't completely overcome the weaknesses in the writing. On the other hand, I struggled to connect with the female lead. Her desire for revenge made sense, but many of her actions felt frustrating rather than convincing, which made it difficult for me to become emotionally invested in her journey.
I did enjoy the overall chemistry between the cast and the interactions between the characters, but the visual effects were a noticeable weak point. The CGI often looked unpolished and, instead of enhancing the supernatural atmosphere, it frequently pulled me out of the experience.
Overall, I don't think it's a bad drama, but it never fully realizes the potential of its interesting premise. It has an engaging male lead, enjoyable character dynamics, and a unique setting, but the confusing storytelling and inconsistent execution ultimately prevent it from becoming something truly memorable.
