"When will you finally admit your feelings for me?"

There aren't many (censored) BLs set in ancient China, so I was curious to check this one out. At the same time, I told myself not to set my expectations too high. Does it reach the level of "The Untamed", "Word of Honor", or "Kill to Love"? No. But was it great? Definitely.

(I'm actually a little sad that, in my bubble, it received significantly less hype than Double Helix, which aired around the same time and is another drama I enjoyed.)

Starting with the OST: the opening was really enjoyable to watch and highlighted many special moments between Pei Yan Zhi and Yin Qi. It took me a little while to get into the series, but once I did, I was hooked.

The main couple was awesome. I was a huge fan of Pei Yan Zhi. His hairstyle and his grassland origins reminded me of the Göktürks in "The Long Ballad". Looking back, I can't remember many character traits of his that weren't somehow connected to Yin Qi, yet I still loved his unwavering determination to do everything for his childhood friend and later lover.

As for Yin Qi, he was an interesting love interest who could actually think for himself. Shortly after traveling back in time, he sought revenge; then came understanding, and eventually love. Their relationship felt passionate and convincing.

The second couple, Yin Zhou and Wei Zi Ming, took hot and rough romance to a whole new level. Aside from their intimate scenes, they didn't get much interaction with the rest of the cast, but since the drama only has 8 episodes, I was completely fine with the focus remaining on the main couple.

There was also an implied third couple: Yin Heshu and Lin Xianyue. They were cute, especially Yin Heshu as Yin Qi's sister. Since BL dramas don't always give us important female characters who are genuinely likable, I was pleasantly surprised by them. That said, I would have appreciated a little more development so I could stop calling them "implied."

The plot wasn't revolutionary by any means (though maybe I've just watched too many political C-dramas). Still, it served its purpose well. It provided a solid framework for character development, and ultimately worked because of the characters and actors rather than the story itself.

While the story itself isn't particularly groundbreaking, the strong cast, passionate relationships, enjoyable NC scenes, and soundtrack more than make up for it. The characters are what truly carry this short drama and make it worth watching.

love story worth fighting for but a script too lazy to let its characters fight for it

Double Helix opens with something genuinely beautiful. The first two episodes portray Lu Feng and Cheng Yi Chen's student life with real tenderness: two people drawn together despite everything around them telling them not to be. Underneath that romance sits a story with real weight: a world that refuses to accept their love as love. Cheng Yi Chen's own mother treats his sexuality like a disease to be cured rather than a truth to be accepted. That is the show's real subject. It is the story Double Helix should have told.
It is not the story Double Helix tells.
Instead of staying with that slow, devastating pressure, showing how rejection from family, society, and institutions can quietly erode two people from the inside, the writers reach for something far blunter. To manufacture the conflict that drives Lu Feng and Cheng Yi Chen apart, the show turns to sexual violence. The choice is jarring against everything established before it: this is a Lu Feng who fought his family, defied social expectation, and gave up his inheritance to be with Cheng Yi Chen. Nothing in that build-up earns the abruptness of what comes next. The show needed the audience to turn on him, and rather than letting that turn arrive through accumulated strain, it manufactured it in a single act.
The same shortcut resurfaces later, in a different shape. Having used violence to break the relationship apart, the writers reach for a psychiatric disorder to explain it after the fact. A diagnosis is not accountability. It re-labels what happened rather than sitting with it, and it lets the show move toward its happy ending without doing the harder work of making Lu Feng actually reckon with what he did.
What makes this doubly frustrating is what the writers had already built and chose to abandon. Cheng Yi Chen is established early as someone capable of real loyalty, caring deeply for the people around him. But that loyalty stops at Lu Feng. When the relationship becomes difficult, he does not fight for it. He walks away with striking ease, and years later, rather than confronting his mother's rejection of who he loves, he marries a woman he has no feelings for simply to keep the peace. It is the same avoidance the show itself is guilty of when things get hard, take the easier path rather than do the difficult work of confrontation. Cheng Yi Chen never matches what Lu Feng sacrificed, and the imbalance is never acknowledged, let alone explored.
Double Helix had a story worth telling about love that society refuses to recognise it, about the quiet cruelty of a mother who sees her son's identity as something to be fixed. Somewhere in its first two episodes, the show knew this. But underneath every choice that follows is the sense that the writer had already decided who each character would be before the story ever earned it. Cheng Yi Chen was cast as the victim, Lu Feng cast as the red flag, both fitted into roles rather than allowed to become them. It chose spectacle over meaning, shock over substance, and predetermined character labels over honest storytelling.

2 more episodes

Too immersed in the series and only two more episodes left. Honestly wu is a new genre for me and i like it. Monkey demon. The way nani acts like a monkey. I like his dedication and u can tell he studied a lot for this character. Ep 7. I cried a lot. Seeing pete meeting his family, yes i cried. Then when niran didn't want to come back, i cried. I can feel pete's frustration and i love how nani acted. Looking forward to ep 8.

a classic case of wasted potential

I wanted to love The Air. The premise had everything going for it: a princess on the run, a capable police officer assigned to protect her, political conspiracies, action, romance, and plenty of opportunities for emotional moments. Unfortunately, the execution never quite lives up to the potential. The biggest issue is the script. The story quickly falls into a cycle where Lom and Blew escape, the villains somehow find them almost immediately, and then they run somewhere else. This pattern repeats so often that instead of feeling tense and exciting it ends up feeling predictable. The villains are also a no-show. Despite being the mainm force behind the plot, they receive very little development or screen time. They appear just enough to chase the leads before disappearing again. What's frustrating is that the show isn't short on runtime. Episodes are more than an hour, yet somehow very little meaningful development happens. Character backstories remain underexplored and entire episodes can pass without important progression. there are still enjoyable moments throughout. But it ultimately feels like a story that never fully realizes its potential.

The wolf princess

I like acting. But but . Overall rating is average because of....
The last fight scene was deleted.
I also know that plan of 24 episodes was not there.
There was plan of 30 to 35 episodes.
So. Many plans and scenes were cancelled.
This is the main reason of average rating.
I don't know the main reason behind cancellation but if you can show that all the scenes in season 2 then the results will improve in rating.. So plz cast the season 2 and input the deleted scenes
The yan Qing was the son of wolf king .Then why do you not shown his abilities.
Plz show the last fight in season 2 . If not then the title of 'son of wolf king' will be useless.
I am requesting you for season 2 of the wolf princess...🙏🙏

Thank you I hope you will understand...

0 effort drama

The thumbnail looked good. Actors looked good so I clicked and omg. Seriously it's been quite a while since I watched so bad BL. Nothing make sense, acting is so bad, concept of the story would be okay if well executed and well written but it's not. I just watched few episodes to see how more ridiculous can it get. I call similar to this drama. "0 effort, profiting out of BL obsessed audience, 1 bedroom/house drama". It's so ridiculous omg. Plot doesn't make sense. Contract killer that falls in love with Cop and both are terrible at their job apparently and kidnapped guy that is so quiet locked in basement... Yeah right totally realistic. Kisses were okay but whole falling in love came from nowhere and plot is not explained at all. It went from bad to worse and honestly I won't be wasting more of my time.

This Drama Broke Me Before It Even Ended… Hats Off to the Madness of Chinese BL!

I’m honestly scared… I feel genuinely depressed just thinking about the ending of this ICONIC drama. I’m completely obsessed with it right now—like, I can’t get enough.

The plot, for the most part, is solid if you overlook a few minor flaws, and overall, it was absolutely worth watching. But at this point, I don’t think I can handle a sad ending… not after everything it has already put me through.

From the very beginning, this drama has been emotionally overwhelming. It made me cry in so many scenes that I lost count. Watching two pure souls suffer because of such a judgmental world was just heartbreaking. And yet, somehow, the bond they built through all those hardships feels even deeper, even more real.

Relationships forged through pain just hit differently…

Overall, I truly loved it. It was an unforgettable experience—such a GREAT watch, honestly. ✨💔

Catched since episode 1

The story is incredibly beautiful.
Not only Ri Jeong-hyeok often save Se Ri, she also saved him.
I noticed their funny, sweet chemistry as early as episode 1. and that they always found each other again. Soulmates. And the fact that the two actors are actually married and fell in love during the series... soulmates in every Timeline.
But the relationship between the boys and her was also completely sweet; she was just like their big sister.
Must Watch!

Really want to be a part of SF club haha

I loved the idea of SF club , irrespective of their age , people can come together and inspire each other to draw .

I feel like the story was too rushed in the last episode .her parents were trash and you are telling me everything got resolved in 1 episode? i need to read the webtoon to understand better , i am sure that will be detailed .

I found Seon Ho and Geu Rin's relationship very messy , they were avoiding each other and not communicating , it was stuck in an endless loop , infact many of the leads were victim of miscommunication.

i was mostly interested in Taeng Ja and khaki's and Tae Seon and sera's relationship lololol , if there is a second season , i hope these character's can get spotlight too !!

WU EP7

The thing about Niran is that he's not quiet for no reason. He navigated his life constantly questioning whether he deserved to be a "Wu" or not because of his grandfather. The way he's been living every day feels so meaningless that he doesn't even want to leave the Life Spirit Realm. He doesn't care if nobody comes to save him because he can't see the difference between the void and the real world.

He said he's always been dreaming and chasing after a butterfly, but he never catches it because the butterfly is the shadow of himself—the version of himself he's been running from all along.

I feel like he's passively suicidal. The numbness is too overwhelming for him to feel anything. The fact that he chooses not to leave because he believes there's nothing more to life is so sad. Even the love from the people around him can't save him, and he thinks it's too late for him to return.

The older Niran gave up on his life, but the younger Niran chose to trust Pete because he still had some hope. In this case, Pete actually heals Niran's inner child.

Ai Ding Le, Huang Fei Niang Niang Ye Dang Bu Zhu (2024) aka on chinesemov.com "I'm in Love, Even the Queen Can't Stop (2024)" is a fine and satifactory rebirth revenge romance miniseries with Liu Qing (as Shangguan Jin Chen) and Yao Yu Chen (as Yun Yuan) in the leading couple's roles. The cast did a good job bringing their characters to life and the leading couple had a great rapport and a sensuous and heartfelt romantic chemistry. Overall, this drama is really good and entertaining; enjoy it!

Heo Nam Jun Steals the Spotlight!

This was an entertaining drama purely because of the actors in it. The story is not novel and at times I felt it was made too complex than needed, cause we have come across such stories before. But in spite of that - the soul of this drama were the actors in it - the main leads, the antagonist, the friendly rivals and aides of the main casts. For me, the biggest one was definitely Heo Nam Jun as the ML. Having seen him in support roles or villain/grey characters - this role was truly unexpected, and I am grateful to the casting director for making the choice. He was handsome, sexy, cute and so expressive - what a talent! His shy/cute smile that seemed so awkward given his cold/sharp face (in the scene when he's happy on the inside that the FL is chosen as the main model) is going to live rent-free in my mind, it's already iconic.

➥ WHAT WORKED:
● The Acting: It is the soul of the show. The main leads (as expected) were good in comedy, fights, enemies-to-lovers, fire chemistry (that inside-hand kiss? swoon). Just flawless, darling! Heo Nam Jun [ML] was the star for me here - as I already shared. Im Ji Yeon [FL] - we already know of her acting prowess, she was good as ever though on a personal level I always want to b-slap her cause of her role in Glory. But then the fact that I feel that way is the reason that shows how good she is as an actress.

● The Antagonist / Rivals: I love Jang Seung Jo [Mun Do] - having loved him in Familiar Wife where he was a good/goofy character, then the suave/grey role in Death's Game, this was technically the first time I saw him as an antagonist - and he was so magnetic. He was cold and ruthless - as the role demanded, and vulnerable as we get some insights onto his background and what makes him act so. Not justified - yet at the same time I love villains like these. Even the FL's rival - Lee Se Hee [Ji Hyo], I have seen her only in another fav drama of mine: A Virtuous Business - where I loved her character. Here too, she shines - eventually coming across as a spoiled and jealous star actress but eventually you warm up to her. She was great in her role.

● The Aides: Love Love Love "Yoon Byung Hee" [Se Gye Right-hand man] - anytime I see him in a drama, I know he will crack me up. What a loyal and funny secretary. Kim Min Seok [Seori's Manager] - again seen him in countless dramas/movies and he's always playing such different characters. He always looks so young too!

➥ WHAT DIDN'T WORK FOR ME:
● The Pacing: When I started watching the drama, it was so entertaining & I thought that 14 episodes might be too less for such a great drama. But overtime I felt the drama dragged at places. Like I still wanted to watch it - but I was doing it out of obligation to complete the story and not excitement. Basically till Ep 7 I was pressing the "Next Episode" button, forgetting to sleep/eat/drink - but after that the story became serious, and pace was not so-exciting as before. As per me it could have been done better.

● The FL's antics: So this is a comparison and I know each actor would do it differently. Given this drama is very close to one of my all-time favorites "MR QUEEN (2020)" I could not help but compare. While I liked how the FL here was a Queen and therefore acted that way - it felt a little over-the-top and repetitive. SHS as Mr Queen was great - the internal monologue by a man, and then her acting as a woman - it felt natural as if SHS was the character. I felt a disconnect here - cause so many things were simply repetitive. "Comparison is the thief of joy" - I guess it is true but then I can't help it - Mr Queen is like a benchmark for me, and deservedly so.

● The Twist: It was good twist - no doubt, but then the way it was laid out felt very weak to me. And by the time it came - I think many had already guessed it, so it was not that impactful. The idea was good, the execution/delivery did not hand out the "WOW/Mindblown" element.

➥ OVERALL:
Definitely recommend watching - cause it was entertaining. I will not rewatch it entirely - but yes, some romantic moments and definitely scenes of Heo Nam Jun acting coy/cute and cold - will definitely be on loop for me. That smile - iconic.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★

SPECIAL MENTIONS:

▶Jung Jae Kwang [Se-Gye's doctor friend] - I want this guy to make his main lead debut soon. He is so handsome, and that voice. Loved him here, in Trauma Code & Idol I - and he's so diverse in each role, I can't help but want to see more of him.
▶ Kim Hae Sook [Seori's grandma] - an acting veteran, what can I even say except its always so comforting to see her in any drama. Here too, she carried the emotional and family anchor for the FL and was amazing
▶ Chae Seo An [Tae Hui] - she was a surprise but not really. I had recently seen & loved her in "Perfect Crown (2026)" and even before - royal roles suit her a lot like she was in Moonshine (2021). I want to see her in a main lead role too, I think she's wonderful - beauty and talent! Here too - she played a great role of being a thorn / partner to main leads romance and story with such finesse!
▶ Jung Young Joo [Se Gye's Elder Aunt]: She's always in such a loud/boisterous kind of role - I love seeing her every time she's onscreen. I wish her role here was more, but even in the little time, she's always great.

Two husbands, one mission, tons of chaos

Husbands in Action is the most random idea that came to you one random afternoon, and you decided to take it and run with it, because why not?! The setup is stupid and brilliant at the same time, and it should work.
(It most definitely does)

The premise is very new, Hwang Chun Shik and Lee Min Seok (played to perfection by Jin Sun Kyu and Gong Myung, by the way) don't like each other very much, considering they are the ex and current husband of Si Nae, and fathers to Yeon Ju. But they are suddenly pulled into action together when the two women are kidnapped by Hye Ran, the wife of Ma Do Jun, a gangster who was recently arrested by Chun Shik.

The plot goes exactly how you would expect it to - it's so hilariously predictable that it's actually charming. There's no out of character actions, no huge plot twists. It's supposed to be a funny buddy comedy, the writers knew that and the crew executed it exactly that way.

To that end, Jin Sun Kyu and Gong Myung carried this for me. Their chemistry and comedic timing was always perfect, and they played off each other incredibly well.

The rest of the characters were occasionally hilarious, sometimes not but because of how quickly the plot moved, it was very easy to just move along with it and ignore the punchlines and jokes that didn't land. That is a perfect summary - it's funny, but it's easy to ignore even when it's not.

Overall, it's a good movie to spend a lazy afternoon with, the kind of movie doesn't take itself way too seriously and doesn't really leave a huge impact, but worth a watch.

Didn't Expect This

This drama is as strong as it is thanks to its cast and script. I would especially like to praise Matsushita Kouhei's performance. The entire drama heavily depended on his acting, and he delivered. It can't be easy to build chemistry with so many child actors, but he managed to do so well.
The children acting alongside him were also very well cast. The standouts for me were Masuda Risa, Ema, and Okamoto Miku, all of whom gave memorable performances.
The only thing dragging down my rating is the directing. Some camera angles were distracting.
I'd recommend this drama to anyone who enjoys healing dramas centered around children.
