A hot mess

Less is more and this series failed to understand this . The first few episodes were great but then it went downhill. Too many storylines going on with little time and so poor execution. The writer wanted to do so much that they ended up doing nothing right .
The last episode was painful to watch . It was as if the writer wanted to add every single cliche known to man .
This series had such great potential but ended up falling flat .
I don’t want to go into details to avoid dropping spoilers but I’ll unfortunately have to rate it a 4/10 .
It’s okay to simplify storylines and if you want something to be complicated, you either pace it better or increase the episodes.
Would I recommend this series to someone else ? No I won’t .
Do I hate it ? No I don’t .
I’m just disappointed

It's decent but could be great. The angst feels shifted from mains to 2nd leads

I've put off watching this because I watched the promotional film for the novel first when it aired. It starred Benjamin Tsang and Stan Huan. Maybe because of the budget with the diff media types, but the script, directing, production, cinematography, music scoring were superior than this drama. Although it was 5 mins, it captured strong chemistry, tension, and angst between the leads even with just their gazes and little script.
With the drama, it fell flat. The angst with the mains fared weaker than the 2nd leads. Also, with an angsty storyline, everything was glaringly bright and flat to convey such depth. The promotional film did well in utilizing lighting and optics to depict emotions.
Now that I've finally completed it, it was decent. I'd rate it higher if I hadn't watched the promo film. Also I've liked the 2nd leads better towards the end. It's a rewatchable drama for me

De los mejores Kdramas que he visto en toda mi vida!

A pesar de ser una rom com es muy muy muy bueno, las parejas con peculiaridades y si entraría más en en el género de vida, pues es muy real y cierto, mostrando las heridas del pasado que impactan en las relaciones y cómo cada pareja se fue adecuando el uno al otro con el tiempo.
Realmente me pareció poético y no estoy de acuerdo con quienes critican el final, me pareció que de algún modo ambos salieron de sus zonas de confort y que pasar un tiempo sola, como nunca lo había hecho, era lo mejor para ella antes de tomar una decisión sobre la relación.

Es un Kdrama excelente y bien hecho, realmente si tienen dudas sobre si verlo o no, vale mucho la pena. Realmente te da una perspectiva madura y sincera del amor en todos los sentidos (más allá de las relaciones románticas).

DARK ROMANCE

Essa é uma série para nós que gostamos de personagens complexos e problemáticos. Nós existimos e merecemos projetos com essa temática mais dark.

Enquanto vocês são do time que espera mudança e melhora num personagem eu sou do time que o aceita do jeito que ele é.


PONTOS POSITIVOS (o que eu gostei):

- Kelvin em sua fase maníaca e obcecada é um verdadeiro deleite intelectual, acompanhar o quão alucinado ele estava foi muito emocionante e satisfatório;
- Veir também é um personagem com nuances e camadas. Ele é bom e justo, mas não trata seus amantes muito bem. No começo ele é fechado emocionalmente e como ele mesmo disse: erros não importam, tudo depende do que você está disposto a perdoar;
- Kelvin também é mais do que apenas um personagem excêntrico, ele levou um tempo para chegar lá. Passamos por uma montanha russa tentando entender o que se passava em sua cabeça, tentando entender o porque dele ser assim, e bom, era óbvio que algo estava errado com ele (o que não era surpresa visto o ambiente familiar em que ele cresceu). No final descobrimos que ele é bipolar e depressivo (o que por si só não significa nada), mas esses transtornos podem levar a casos extremos de mania e é nisso que a série se apega. Ele sente demais e não sabe lidar com seus sentimentos (o que o torna até mesmo um automutilador). Ele é um personagem extremamente complexo e eu gostei muito disso;
- A trilha sonora instrumental que acompanha os momentos mais tensos ou os mais românticos é bem interessante;
- Gosto de como sempre ficou explícito mesmo que de forma sutil o quanto um completava o outro e não existia nada no mundo que pudesse separá-los. Veir mesmo sequestrado nunca tentou fugir de verdade (mesmo quando teve a chance). Kelvin mesmo em surto sempre colocou o Veir em primeiro lugar como sua prioridade máxima. Veir mesmo longe sentia pena do Kelvin e o entendia (mesmo não concordando). E o principal: ele estava disposto a perdoar tudo e essa é uma decisão corajosa, uma verdadeira prova de que o amor não é racional. Veir o amava mesmo quando não deveria com cada expressão e reação de seu corpo.
- A química obviamente é a chave e o ponto alto. Eles conseguem performar intimidade e carinho genuíno.


PONTOS NEGATIVOS (o que eu não gostei):

- Mesmo com todas as qualidades (que são principalmente a roupagem que deram aos protagonistas), a distribuição de cenas ficou um pouco cansativa. Eram os mesmo conflitos de escritório e as mesmas tramas de vingança o tempo todo. Ficou um tanto quanto caricato. Sem contar a atuação forçada da maioria dos vilões;
- O casal secundário feminino não me fisgou. Eu não me importei com elas como casal e como personagens individuais;
- Os 4 primeiros episódios que ficavam indo do voltando do passado para o presente foram desorganizados;
- Como eu disse anteriormente, Kelvin é um personagem cativante, mas quando o colocam na perspectiva de alguém puro e inocente no começo parece forçado (e é proposital), mas tudo que vem disso é bem entediante. Já no futuro o personagem esta tentando a sua forma se redimir, e depois de um show de atuação dramática vindo das cenas pesadas o jeito quase infantil após o perdão é um balde de água fria. Simplesmente não combinava com ele e com a proposta da série. A personalidade juvenil só funcionava nos momentos de crise e vulnerabilidade extrema do personagem.


Essa é uma série que se arrisca em personagens dúbios, e apesar dos pesares (a Tailândia cisma em deixar tudo que seja mais complexo parecendo um Lakorn), entrega algo inovador e revigorante para a indústria.

Nem só de romance fofinho se vive. Aqui temos o tempero que não se encontra fácil no mercado.

A paixão, o desequilíbrio, a falta de coerência em virtude de um amor obcecado e poderoso, a agressão e o descontrole é o que faz dessa série algo tão bom (mesmo pecando nos aspectos ao redor).

Amei a cicatriz na testa do Veir e como ela foi feita (foi louco e profundo). Amei aquela corrente em sua perna. Amei a vulnerabilidade vinda da dor. Amei o quão bagunçado emocionalmente Kelvin estava. Amei como eles souberam expressar o porque dele estar se mutilando. Amei a saudade nos olhos deles.

E amei seu merecido final feliz.

Es lindo, muestra una evolución distinta de los personajes y sobre el matrimonio.

Acabo de terminarlo.
Leí todas las reseñas de este drama antes de verlo y realmente voy a hacer una opinión basada en lo que yo ví.
Bueno, realmente es un hecho que hay algo diferente después del episodio 9, yo no estaba al tanto del cambio de guión, pero solo fuera de la parte musical un poco exagerada en ciertas escenas, no hubo nada más raro que eso. A lo que me refiero es que cualquier drama, así sea una rom com, en los Kdramas la segunda parte suele tener eso, drama, malentendidos, problemas y bla bla bla.
Definitivamente este no es la excepción, Go Ah Jung me desesperó un poco con su indecisión, pero al final comprendí un poco que se trataba de mostrar que el matrimonio no es tan fácil como solo decir que estás casado y ya, también un poco por eso mostraron más del matrimonio de Jae Bum y So Ran.
Otra cosa es que leí mucho sobre que Sang Hee y Yoon Ju no tuvieron más tiempo en pantalla o un cierre como tal, yo siento lo contrario, sí lo tuvieron y con Sang Hee fue un poco mostrar que él siguió adelante.
Sobre los otros personajes como las amigas u otros en realidad no siento que era necesario un cierre con ellas, porque no tenían una historia en sí en la serie.

Por otra parte YO DEFENDERÉ a Hyun Ki Joon, pues muchos decían que era meloso y exagerado al final, pero honestamente es de las mejores transformaciones de personaje que he visto, pues en el fondo él sí era así y Ah Jung le permitió mostrarse tal cual era fuera de lo que los demás le dijeran qué hacer, es lindo y le muestra mucho afecto, algo muy raro de ver en un protagonista masculino, fue estupendo y como pareja superando todo, mostrando mucha química.

En realidad no es súper evidente el cambio de guión, y sé que muchos podrían esperar el final de boda, pero no creo que se trate de eso, sino de mostrar que casarse no es rápido y ya, además de que si ven muchos de los dramas de esa época notarán que pocos acaban en realidad con una boda. Fue algo que me pasó con 9 ends 2 outs, que todo el kdrama trataba de matrimonio y al final no hay boda, Simplemente creo que era el tipo de finales de la época o el típico final del aeropuerto. Así que no se preocupen mucho por ello.

Los OST increíbles, super bueno You Belong To Me de MBLAQ y la canción de Ice Cream jaja, me encantaron!!!!

Por último dejaría una linda escena, que es la última vez de Ki Joon viendo a Joon Ju, me encantó y me quedó en el corazón agradecerle por los preciosos recuerdos que tuvieron juntos y que en definitiva era un hecho que jamás cambiarían, fue emotivo y lindo poder finalizar agradeciendo lo que vivieron.

A calm, unhurried, and easy-to-watch drama. The mml is very timid, and the mfl is modest but has a strong inner core. Despite the fact that they are both introverted and have trouble socializing, they were able to find each other and become each other's support and future.
The growth of the mfl is tremendous! At the beginning, you can feel her awkwardness and embarrassment, but by the end, she has managed to break free from this cage, stats to know what she wants, sets boundaries with her mother, and confesses her feelings to a boy first . These steps were difficult for her, but she was able to overcome herself.
However, I didn’t notice any growth in the mml. He occasionally displayed courage, but most of the time, he was sullen and timid.
The drama is simple and fast-paced. Towards the end, it became a bit boring. For me, there weren’t enough main couple .

Not My Taste, But Still Worth Noting

This drama is likely best suited for viewers who enjoy wholesome relationships. That’s not really my preference. I tend to gravitate toward more complex dynamics—dysfunctional couples who struggle with their flaws but ultimately carve out a hard-earned, imperfect happiness together. That said, I did enjoy a few subplots.

The Butcher Gang was particularly engaging. I was also drawn to the portrayal of the Sui brothers. Unfortunately, they weren't enough. Overall, this wasn’t really my kind of drama, and I wish I had watched it in clips instead of all the way through, as I regret the time I spent on it.

Pursuit of The FL Whom The Screenwriter For No Reason Suddenly Turned Into An Background Wallpaper

This drama started brilliantly. The entire 1st half and world buildup in Lin'an was done perfectly to the T. I was really invested in the story, and Changyu was brilliantly portrayed and written. She had nice fighting scenes and her character progressed nicely. The cinematography was just breathtaking. The main leads had natural chemistry and companionship. Later as the story progressed and Changyu found out about the real identity of the male lead, the writing became rushed and Fan Changyu's character was compromised. The screenwriter spoiled the consistency and character progression in FL's character for the comedic relief and that is something I am utterly disappointed with. Furthermore, her own journey towards becoming a female general was absolutely butchered. Her character regressed and as a viewer, I could not relate to her becoming a general at all. It did not feel natural to me due to the writing. The writing and character progression of her character was sidelined and towards the end, I felt like she was just a general in name only and was reduced to an wallpaper who is the love interest of the ML. The screenwriter gave too much time in the first half and later rushed to compress everything together. The casting though was brilliant and everyone performed brilliantly. Overall, the first half was a beautiful watch and the 2nd half was a decent watch only due to the mindblowing cinematography of the director.

Trauma, Desire, and the Search for Redemption

Love Exposure is the kind of film that sounds completely unhinged on paper: four hours long, packed with perversion, religion, cults, and trauma ~ and yet somehow feels effortless to watch. What starts as a goofy, almost absurd comedy slowly reveals itself as something much darker and more emotionally loaded.

At first, the film leans hard into exaggerated humor, using absurd situations to poke at fundamental issues in Japanese society ~ especially repression, shame, and the strange ways morality is enforced. But beneath that chaotic surface, there’s a deeply unsettling core: abuse within families, sexual trauma, and the quiet devastation of being emotionally neglected by the people who are supposed to love you most.

One of the film’s most striking ideas is how trauma reshapes people. Characters don’t just suffer, they transform. Pain turns them into something else, sometimes even into executioners of their own twisted sense of justice. It’s uncomfortable, but also very human in the way it shows how damage gets recycled rather than healed.

And then there’s love ~ messy, obsessive, irrational love. The film seems to ask whether love can actually redeem people or if it just gives them another excuse to spiral. Sex, throughout the film, isn’t liberating ~ it’s destabilizing. It pushes characters into choices they don’t fully understand, blurring the line between devotion, obsession, and self-destruction.

The cult element is another major pillar. It’s not just there for shock value ~ it reflects how fragile people, especially those carrying deep emotional wounds, are drawn to systems that promise healing and belonging. The film portrays this with surprising empathy: these aren’t just “brainwashed victims,” but people desperately trying to make sense of their pain.

Despite its length, Love Exposure never feels pretentious. In fact, the four hours fly by. The pacing is deceptively sharp, constantly shifting tones and escalating stakes so that you’re never stuck in one emotional register for too long. Just when things feel too ridiculous, it hits you with something painfully sincere ~ and vice versa.

Visually and thematically, it’s also highly symbolic. Characters and situations often operate on a larger metaphorical level, but the film never gets lost in its own ideas. It stays grounded in raw emotion, which keeps it from feeling overly intellectual or detached.

In the end, Love Exposure is chaotic, uncomfortable, funny, and strangely moving. It’s a film about damage, desire, and the fragile hope that love ~ however distorted ~ might still mean something.

More a feeling than a story

Soft, slow, and very much a “vibe over plot” kind of film. I could see why people describe it as more of a feeling than a story, because it really lives in silences, glances, and moments that aren’t fully explained. At times I felt like I was just sitting with the characters rather than following a clear narrative. I did appreciate the atmosphere, it’s delicate and almost hypnotic, but I also understand why some people find it distant. I kept wanting to feel more, to be pulled in emotionally, but it stayed just out of reach.
It’s one of those films I admire more than I actually connect with. Beautiful, thoughtful, but more “artistic” than truly engaging for me.

Slowburn Romance of a Happy Ending

Truth to be told, I'm still at the 9th ep of the drama, and so far—I'm obsessed with it!

I'm not saying this out of my admiration for Reba or anything —but solely, as a casual viewer and a beginner chiness drama enthusiast. Seriously, the production have surely hefty amount of budget filming throughout the whole series. The cinematography alone is topnotch. Not to add, the amount of visually striking outfits of the female lead. She looked undeniably magnetic through the screen.

As for the acting dept, I can see that there's countless room of improvement. However, that doesn't equate to bad performance at all. It's just that based on my observation (while reading the book and watching the live action adaptation), I feel like the characters in the drama got a some restraints. You see, in the original novel, each characters were described so vividly that it felt like they're right in front of your face doing the act. Yet the drama only managed to cover a little bit of expression.

To sum it up, Reba did a great job in her portrayal as He Simu.
