Sigh!

Some series make me wonder why they have been made in the first place. This is one of them. Everything is either mediocre or just plain bad. Acting: mediocre. Cinematography: Bad. Sound: Bad. Story: Bad. Music: wrong.

Dialogues are slow and unnatural. Events are illogical and weird. I understand that most issues come from working with a very limited budget, but come on, a little creativity from actors and director could have countered that.

I rarely drop series, but if this would have been any longer I certainly would have dropped it. Now I settled for fast forwarding and just watching the kissing scenes. Those were not too bad, but could not make up for the rest. Sigh.

La Spec-tialité du Drama Japonais

Si un drama a marqué la décennie précédente, c'est bien Spec. Sortie à une époque où le Japon exportait encore peu ces Dramas, Big N permet aujourd'hui à toute une génération de découvrir la folie qui frappe souvent les scénaristes japonais, matière de super-héros, ou de Buddy Movie.

Et pourtant, à l'écran comme sur le papier, rien ne prédestinait cette série à devenir culte. Deux acteurs à la renommée encore balbutiante en les personnes de Kase Ryo et la jeune Erika Toda avaient encore tout à prouver à l’époque. Des sidekicks bedonnants, voire ridicules, et surtout une ambiance et une mise en scène à la Derrick. Je prends volontiers un exemple occidental m’adressant non pas aux fans de la série ou même de séries policières japonaises du début des années 2000, mais bien aux néophytes, ayant quand même les séries soporifiques de papy et mamie en référence. Démarrant et prenant en bonne partie place dans ce bureau austère de la section Mushou, la mise en scène, les « bon sang, mais c’est bien sûr », les « Hercule Poirot » ou les explications de notre enquêtrice à l’oreille du coupable dans les cinq dernières minutes rappellent tellement tout ce qui s’est fait ces cinquante dernières années, d’Agatha Christie à Detective Conan en passant par Columbo. Si bien qu’on était prêts, pour beaucoup de jeunes de 2010, à passer notre chemin.

Mais il a été évoqué dans cette trop longue introduction qui semble figé le temps, peut-être, les uniques points négatifs. Car tout le reste n’est que bonheur, faisant de cette œuvre une masterpiece du drama japonais, toutes catégorie confondues.
Le thème encore peu exploré à l’époque des pouvoirs surnaturels et de la section d’enquête rappelle évidemment X-Files, mais avec un humour décalé et une écriture loufoque, que permettent toutes les dingueries du thème. Un mélange de buddy movie et de X-Files dans une ambiance à la Derrick, mêlant humour, suspense et émotion avec un minimum de moyens.

Le côté cheap de la série (tout du moins dans les premiers épisodes) est largement compensé par la prestation de nos deux acteurs. Sebumi froid, strict mais tellement touchant au fur et à mesure de sa progression dans ce monde irrationnel. Tout le talent d'une futur star de cinéma qu'est devenu Kase Ryo après cette série était déjà là. Se baladant avec son petit sac en papier, il fait autant de peine qu’il impose le respect, mais toujours avec classe. Il incarne à la perfection le Japon de l’ordre, des traditions et de la hiérarchie. Mais les temps changent, preuve en est le rappel permanent à la construction de la Skytree, symbole de l’ouverture du pays à la modernité et au reste du monde.

Symbole incarné également par la pièce maîtresse de l’œuvre, celle qui porte sur ses épaules toute la perfection de celle-ci, c’est bien sûr Toda Erika. Alors qu’elle servait surtout de faire-valoir à des partenaires masculins comme dans Liar Game encore deux ans plus tôt, elle crève littéralement l’écran dans son rôle de Toma. Cassant par la même tous les codes attribués au genre féminin dans les dramas, y compris d’enquête. Fini l’ingénue sexy en admiration devant l’enquêteur. Fini également l’intellectuelle, rat de bibliothèque… mais sexy. Non, Toma est crasseuse, lourde, vulgaire, autoritaire, maladroite, et passe les dix épisodes avec un bras dans le plâtre, sa valise dans lautre main. Toma n’a rien d’une Cendrillon, les cheveux sont sales, elle sent l’ail et ingurgite des gyoza à longueur de journée, et tout ça la rend pourtant tellement fascinante. Elle incarne la série, mettant à genoux tous ses partenaires, qui semblent alors jouer leur rôle comme des enfants.

Il y a bien d’autres personnages emblématiques, comme le chef trop vieux pour sortir avec la toute jeune Arimura Kasumi (16 ans à l’époque), mais vous vous en doutez, ils sont tous d’un pathétisme absolu, dénonçant il y a 16 ans déjà le patriarcat maladif d’un Japon toujours dans une mouvance paternaliste. Mais tout n’est pas parfait dans la série, comme la tendance de Sebumi, dans les premiers épisodes, à facilement donner un coup à sa partenaire, rappelant qu’en 2010, le machisme, c’était aussi ça.

Erika met clairement un coup de pied dans la formule et est propulsée, grâce à ce rôle entre autres, dans la cour des grandes actrices, mais aussi des influenceuses de l’époque. Et tout ça avec un humour ravageur, des situations plus loufoques les unes que les autres. Les Specs permettent tous les délires, mais même sans cela, avec un duo aussi en iconique, une musique et même une ambiance sonore aussi prenantes, Spec reste LA série de l’ère Heisei, cette période qu’on essaye d’oublier par un grand lavage de cerveau. Mais impossible d'effacer un souvenir si odorant.

No need two couple for web dramas

At first, I came to this series because of a YouTube video, but I didn’t like the drama at first. Then, when Ding came after Chen, I started to feel more interested in watching it. once they got together, I actually liked it.

Still, since this is a web drama, I think focusing on just one couple would have been enough. The second couple got too much screen time, and I didn’t like that because the drama already had limited time, so the main couple didn’t get enough development.

I also thought the story would become cooler and more interesting after they got together, but it was still kind of boring. Even though I liked the couple, there wasn’t much of a real storyline. It just kept using the same cliché situations again and again.

I’m not saying it’s completely good or completely bad. If you want to watch it, you still can, but for me, it wasn’t that impressive.

Missing some tension

While I appreciate everyone’s hard work into making short drama productions casting two headliners and expecting sizzling performances with no back up sums up this show. Beautiful leads, wardrobe and a promising beginning story fading into nothingness. The physicality allowing actors to build believable, consistent characters and create specific atmospheres with tension and intimacy is missing. The supporting actors and actresses were so lacking delivering lines by rote. The soundtrack is terrible choosing to inject comedic undertones into moments and repeating one song to set the mood for kissing scenes. While a show can sometimes be saved by chemistry between actors the overall feeling from the leads is two friends having fun on camera instead of characters. No rewatch value.

No need this much hate

This series was good. I honestly kind of enjoyed it, and I think almost all of the actors did their very best in their roles. You can really feel the effort they put into the characters, and that made the drama more enjoyable for me. and i love chakri 😁 his actions when prince n charan together is soo cute.

What made it even more interesting was the jungle competition and the scene where they got attacked. That part was really cool and exciting, but for me, it ended too suddenly. I feel like if the series had added more confusion, suspense, and thrilling moments like that, it could have been even better. In fact, if it had focused more on those thrilling elements, I would easily give it a full 10 out of 10.

One thing I often notice in Thai dramas, especially BL dramas, is that they usually have a good story idea in their hands, but sometimes they do not deliver it in the most effective way. The plot is there, the potential is there, but the execution can miss the chance to make it more powerful. I have seen this in a lot of BL dramas. Thai BL dramas, for me, are usually stronger in romance, but not always in storyline. They are very good at giving romantic feelings, but when it comes to adding thriller, suspense, or deeper plot twists, they often miss that chance too.

A lot of people gave this drama bad ratings and negative reviews, but honestly, I do not think it deserves that much hate. For a Thai BL, I feel like it is actually kind of good, especially because Thai BL dramas usually do not include many strong thrilling elements. This series at least tried to bring something more than just simple romance, and I appreciate that.

Still, this series is not bad at all. It is actually pretty good. Another thing was the villain. I could not fully hate him or feel angry at him, because in a way, he was right. Deep down, he felt more like a good person who changed because of what happened to someone important to him. That reason made his character more understandable and more human.

And honestly, one of the funniest thoughts about this drama is the whole clan system and the competition to choose a king. They are all supposed to continue their clan lines, but at the same time, almost everyone seems interested in the same gender. So in the future, it feels like none of these clans are going to have any heirs at all. That makes the whole serious clan tradition a little funny when you think about it.

In the end, I definitely recommend this drama. It may not fully use all of its thrilling potential, but it is still a pretty good watch and worth recommending.

The Story of Park's Marriage Contract(2023 – 2024) is a great fantasy romantic comedy with Bae In Hyuk (as Kang Tae Ha) and Lee Se Young (as Park Yeon U) in the leading couple’s role. The cast did a fantastic job bringing their characters to life and the leading couple had an enthralling and captivating chemistry; from their encounter and brief but meaningful affinity during historical times to their fated meeting and impassioned relationship in modern times, the leading couple made everyone of their scenes together magnetizing and meaningful. The comedy was delivered at the right times to smooth the dark story of greed and betrayal.
This drama is a cinematographical ode to the power of love through the use of the crepe-myrtle blooms to represent the deeper meaning of a soulful connection between the leading couple bringing a tale of rebirth and renewal, endurance, resilience and perseverance to ultimately seeing the leading couple’s dreams come true. There is also the symbolic nature of water which, by passing through death and rebirth from been thrown into a narrow water well to die and resurfaced from the water of a wide pool we get the message of life, purity, or change also captured by the use of color tone, from darker tones for the historical era to the brightness of the new Joseon in modern times. These are just three of the many symbolisms used by the wonderful, well done writing of this heartbreaking and beautifully depicted heartwarming love story. Overall, this is a remarkable drama, enjoy it!

It's an real good watch to who love cdrama

I don't know why this drama is not famous that much ! I just started this yesterday and I was hooked and iam now on 11th episode,yeah maybe this is not for everyone,like this is about a girl who is transmitted from modern to historical like 1980's and a girl who make a path for herself from her miserable family,she save her mother from her father and father's family and the story of their to make money eventually she knows what's profitable or what works in future and present so she make through even have difficulties
And the male lead who is handsome and supports for her everything and she became his inspiration to study ,work all of them . I don't know how it goes but it is smooth so far so I hope so many people watch this.
And the actors in it are zhou ye and zhai xiawon .mainly to tell zhou ye in bare face like how pretty she is ,and her acting is good too.then zhai xiawon lots of second lead role he got he is just getting into main lead role and he is doing pretty good too ,but this story mainly focuses on female lead and her boldness,matureness etc.male lead is supporting her in everything without arguing for anything like other male lead .

Overall it's a good watch 💯

I'm surprised the SML wasn't the actual ML.

I first started this drama with high expectations. The baby was really cute, and I wanted to watch it to see how the baby acts, and surprisingly it was better, even better than the FL if I may add at this point. The FL didn't really portray Hyunjin as I wanted her to be. But, the main problem was the SML. Why is this guy everywhere??? Look, this show had potential if they cut down the SML screen time, and maybe changed the cast except for Tae-hyung because he's a good character. Everytime I hear the words, "Let me drive you home," from the SML I lose atleast 20 strands of hair from stress. Rewatch value is extremely low for this reason, and I usually rank shows atleast a 8, because I feel bad, but I genuinely don't do bad for this one. Woo-joo and his uncle carried the whole show. Also, I feel like the FL wasn't really showing her affection with Woo-Joo as much as her character should've portrayed it. Anyway, thats all!

Fun to watch

I watched Fight for My Way and I found it a very entertaining and easy series to watch. Not super heavy, not super dramatic, just very enjoyable.

The best part of the series is definitely the main couple, played by Park Seo-joon and Kim Ji-won. Their chemistry is really, really good. Their relationship feels natural, funny, and believable. They argue, support each other, joke around — it just feels like real people who grew up together. That makes the whole series fun to watch.

And let’s be honest, Park Seo-joon is just very nice to look at. Even if he would wear a trash bag and dig a hole somewhere, he would probably still be attractive to watch. He just has that natural charm and screen presence.

I also liked that the story is about normal people trying to achieve their dreams, not rich families or big companies like in many other dramas. That made it more relatable and refreshing.

However, the second couple didn’t really work for me. I didn’t feel much spark between them, and their storyline didn’t really grab my attention. I also found it a bit confusing sometimes, because in the intro it really looks like the story is mainly about the main couple, but the second couple actually gets a lot of screen time too. So sometimes I was wondering if they were also supposed to be main characters.

For me personally, the storyline of the second couple was a bit too stretched over the 16 episodes. It felt a bit long and sometimes slowed the story down.
But overall, the series is still very enjoyable. The music is good, the main couple is great, and the story is easy and fun to watch. It’s just one of those dramas you watch when you want something entertaining and light, with good chemistry and some funny and sweet moments.

MASTERPIECE

This stands out as a series that not only meets expectations but confidently exceeds them. With a compelling narrative and emotionally grounded performances, it manages to strike a strong balance between intensity and heartfelt storytelling, "although some actions felt a bit rushed towards the ending but the plot in general was impressive and still kept me tuned"
But what truly drives the series is its character work, particularly through its leads. Pavel’s portrayal of Singha is defined by control and presence. He approaches the role with a quiet intensity, allowing emotions to build gradually rather than forcing them. This restraint makes his key moments even more impactful, giving the character a sense of depth and realism that holds the story together!
In contrast, Pooh’s performance as Thup brings a sense of warmth and emotional openness that perfectly complements Singha’s intensity. His portrayal feels natural and sincere, making Thup an easy character to root for.
Notably, in emotionally heavy scenes, Pooh shows impressive range! "i was awed" his expressions and delivery carry a rawness that adds weight to the narrative without becoming overwhelming.
The dynamic between both characters is one of the series’ strongest assets. Their contrasting energies creates a balance that enhances both the emotional and narrative progression of the story, "personally I didn’t like the story arc for the second couple it didn’t make any sense, but i can let it slide and hopefully they get their own series soon."
Beyond the performances, the series benefits from a clear tonal direction. It maintains a consistent atmosphere that supports its themes, allowing viewers to remain fully immersed. The storytelling is focused and while simple in structure, it is effective in delivering emotional payoff.
Ultimately, Goddess Bless You From Death succeeds because it understands its strengths and leans into them, strong performances, emotional sincerity, and character-driven storytelling. It is a series that resonates not through complexity, but through execution, making it a highly satisfying watch!
It's a series is would definitely recommend to someone.
I am looking forward to poohpavels new series their dynamic feels so refreshing to witness. I hope they go far in this industry!

Is this the Worst kdrama of 2026

I have made it to 20 minutes into the 4th episode and just cannot watch anymore of this drivel. This series is even worse than Chicken Nugget which is saying something! I can accept the concept of brain switching (even though it's 'far fetched') but the whole thing is just a sorry mess. There is absolutely no continuity in the storyline. The acting is probably the worst I've seen in a Korean series. The 'suicide' by 'aircon' just about tipped me over but this scene was beaten by Momo 'trying' to dance sexily to a non descript piece of 'jazz'.
The journalists brother is murdered and then just never mention again. So why was he even in the story?
The 'genius' doctor is as creepy as they come and is aided by a man and woman who don't speak and are robotic in behaviour.
Don't waste your precious time on this shambles. I'm angry I even watched 3 and a bit episodes.

Took me 4 months to finish

It wasn’t a bad watch but if I had to choose a word to describe it, it’d be “mediocre”

It was very bland. Think they were going for a slice of life vibe but there wasn’t enough to work with. (We had an entire college arc where it was just them being jealous of people standing next to the other person for no reason with her boy crazy roommate who interpreted everything as romantic and wouldn’t shut up about boys) After a while, I kept asking why we were still here. It should not have been 30 episodes long.

I got very disconnected from the characters

The whole thing kinda felt like I was watching a random internet philosophy generator.

It's the perfect guilty-pleasure watch: fluffy rom-com vibes with just enough heart to keep you smiling through the episodes.

Acting-wise, the leads nail the charm offensive, and the supporting cast delivers comic gold. Visually, it's all glossy Seoul aesthetics and cute outfits—pure escapism.

Lost one star because the ending was unsatisfying to me, really rushed and deviated from the novel’s ending which I heard about and preferred. Another reason, idk ,maybe the vfx sometimes, obviously no vfx is perfect and this is actually one of the good ones but again those high budget Hollywood movies do set vfx standards high.
