Of course I had to watch Coffee Prince after falling in love with  Gong Yoo's acting. Of course. But one of my friends warned me that old dramas aren't that good, that they're less relatable and some even have horrible production value. Despite that, I watched Coffee Prince. And, oh boy, I'm so glad I did. This is obviously a classic in the drama world. I watched it ten years after it came out, but the humor and some problems are still relatable. Gong Yoo had amazing wardrobe choices (if you have a preference for good fashion, watch him in Goblin). And the subject of gender bending is tackled really nicely.

STORY
Girl dressing as a boy trope is my guilty pleasure. Naturally, I really enjoyed it in this drama because Yoon Eun Hye really looks like a cute boy. I don't want to go too deep into the story, but I'd like to point out that for a 2007 drama, it's an original concept. I would've wanted to know more about the side characters and less about the romance between Choi Han Seong and Han Yoo Juu (I found them to be a boring couple tbh). The angsty romance and quirky characters made it so enjoyable. The ending was cute, but left me with a lot of questions as well.

ACTING/CAST
I really have no complaints about the actors. All of the main roles done their jobs really well. There were some annoying characters and overly acted scenes, but I'm brushing that aside. Gong Yoo's chaebol character was my favorite. He frustrated me so much, but I loved him for it. Also, Kim Chang Wan's character made me die of laughter.

MUSIC
I was too engrossed in the story to pay much attention to the music, but listening back to the OST made me remember some scenes with fondness.

OVERALL
It takes some time to get involved in the story, but I promise it's worth it. It doesn't have tragic parts that make you so sad, I didn't really cry while watching, but I had so much fun and laughed so much. If you're looking for a fluffy romantic comedy and you're also able to watch them use flip phones without cringing, then this is the drama for you.

-----Story-----

The man, the myth, the legend Jack Ma destroys every great fighter in the world. This story is truly, impeccably lovable. It's heresy to say anything with Jack Ma in it is less than a 9001/10.

-----Acting-----

I've watched this 3 separate times, each time, I fell more and more in love with Jack Ma's stellar acting and elegant martial arts.

-----Music-----

Jack Ma's voice and the sound of his movements were some of the most beautiful sounds I'd heard in my life. Music to my ears.

-----Rewatch Value-----

I've watched it 3 times. It's not about if it's worth rewatching, it's about how many times will you watch it before you realize it may be life-threatening to be exposed to such greatness so many times, so you can no longer watch it.

-----Overall-----

Jack Ma.
9001/10.
Must watch.
Definite rewatch,
Checkmate.

-----Story-----

The story was... questionable. I... uh... frankly... this story wasn't very compelling or anything like that. It was alright. It just seemed like a necessary thing to have a show. What really made this show good was that it's just pretty damn funny. I found myself laughing all the time. I guess the comedy is technically a part of the story, but I feel like the story wasn't notably important nor that great.

-----Acting-----

I really enjoyed the cast's ability to be funny. This is pretty much all of what made me really enjoy this show. It's just super comedic and the actors do the whole comedy thing really well.

-----Music-----

I don't remember anything about the music. It wasn't terrible so I'll give it that.

-----Rewatch Value-----

I wouldn't watch it again, but it's funny so like if you need some laughter and you haven't watched it in a while. This seems like a pretty okay rewatch.

-----Overall-----

It's funny. Do it.

-----Story-----

Growing up in a Chinese family, there were so many points of the show that really resonated with me. This show really brings a lot of Chinese culture to the table. I truly, truly enjoyed that aspect.

The depiction of parent, children, and teacher interactions were quite well done. So many different angles of parenting were covered and so many different resulting children personalities. The clashing of these personalities is portrayed very well.  There's a lot of insight in the show about how students are brought up in China and how the system shapes them into who they will become.

The depictions of high school students facing things like relationship issues, academic accomplishment, and their futures, the show really does a great job with fleshing out the students' progression from the beginning to the end of their days as a student. This show goes into some really heavy material as well. I found myself helplessly crying as it was so moving.

Rather important for me, I'm so grateful that this show dedicates time to life after all their struggles in high school. It gives us closure and doesn't just end with some happily ever after, after high school is over. Life's not over after high school.

-----Acting/Cast-----

I'd have to say, there was nothing notably bad for me. I really liked the actors. Their acting was often very moving so I'd have to say it was very well done.

-----Music-----

Arguably, no song felt memorable from the show. None. However, I believe they do the music very well in this show because each scene that needed to hit home hard, is backed by music that seemingly perfectly pairs with the emotions the scene is trying to convey. The music was definitely excellently done.

-----Rewatch Value-----

I'm not really much of a person who ever rewatches anything so my rating for this is rather arbitrary. I think there are a lot of takeaways in this movie. Lots of cultural stuff to be learned, lots of moral lessons, and lots of motivational stuff in this movie. I highly doubt I would watch the entirety of it again, but there are definitely scenes in the show that hit home. There are scenes worth watching again. The movie also links the beginning all the way to the end really well. Often times I found myself thinking, I needed to go back to watch some scene again that had some foreshadowing that I didn't quite remember but it was prominent enough that it left a mark in my mind. It's really a good show. I'm certain many would rewatch it again.

-----Overall-----

I come from the background of being a Chinese American millennial. This show truly did resonate a lot with me. I might not have been born in China and gone through the exact same system as theirs, but I was brought up with similar cultural aspects and similar parenting aspects. If you're someone in this demographic, this show is pretty much  a must watch.

From the beginning till the end, this show was amazing.

When they show the characters in the end during the last 2 episodes, the time after the Gaokao, It's almost like they didn't even try to make the actors look their appropriate age which is about... 31? Maybe it was symbolism to show that they, despite all the years, are still like themselves from their best time. Their days of the past. But it was just kind of like... hmmm...

Another thing about the ending is that Chinese women age 27+ are called leftover women. The women as depicted in the show are already 4 years-ish older than this age and they're still not married. To me, this was the show kind of fighting against that notion that women who don't marry early are leftover unwanted goods. I really liked that. Times are changing in China.

When I heard about the plot, I have to admit I wasn't excited however, I was interested because I heard people say that it was really good and it had quite a high rating on here.
The plot was simple and straight to the point, however, I like how the three sub-plots were simple yet the relationships and friendships had some much depth. I like that the show explored various important themes like sexual harassment and stereotypes. The way that the show explores how the idea of marriage varies from person to person was very interesting. I think people liked this show because it related to them and their situation as many people in their adult life have financial struggle and difficulties in long-term relationships. I did relate to some of the characters issues, however not much as I am still a teen, but I loved the show none the less.

I liked that all the characters were so realistic and relatable it made me really empathize with them, the character that I most related to personally was Se hee as like me he is a person who has a hard time voicing his feelings and is very introverted. As for Ji ho, i liked how intelligent she was, she knew what she wanted and went after it. I also really liked Soo-ji as she dreams big and much like Ji ho went after what she wanted. She teaches us to follow our dreams and stand up for what's right. I liked that Sang goo supported her in her endeavours and was with her the whole way. What I really enjoyed was that the characters all progressed through the drama, they all learned something about love and life and had time to truly find themselves.

I got so excited when I first heard about this movie and it DID NOT disappoint! Casting is absolutely perfect: Park Seo Joon and Kang Ha Neul have great chemistry and they make an amazing comedy duo. Their friendship seems completely natural and they are hilarious together (separately too).

Writer / director Kim Joo-Hwan did an excellent job at mixing comedy with a dark storyline. It could have been a total mess, but everything flows really well and all the aspects of the story fit perfectly together.
I also thought the fight scenes were really well choreographed, more realistic than those I've seen in other action dramas / movies.

I don't have too much to add, as I liked everything about this movie: it's an easy watch that will make you laugh and I highly recommend it!

Oh! Wait... One thing I could add: lots of Park Seo Joon shirtless scenes. That's it.

I really liked it!!! One thing I really liked about this series is how initially I thought that Ito would play a larger role and the story of each girl would sort of revolve around him but it wasn't like that. Each story was more about the inner psyche of the women and it went beyond the issues they had with Ito.

I do think the final ep sort of fizzled off with the writer's arc and ive never read the book so I don't know if this would actually flow in with the film  but I'm really looking forward to the film to see more of the writer and  Ito.

Just finished watching this amazing drama that is highly recommended by most viewers of Kdrama. It is really good, full of action and complicated back story that keeps things interesting to watch and at the edge of your seats until the very end. It's pretty much like City Hunter in my opinion, maybe because Park Min Young is here. The male lead, Ji Chang Wook is so handsome so that is a plus in this show. One thing that was just not good on this show is that, you have to endure the maybe 4-5 episodes at the start that I found boring and had to endure. It's because they are still establishing the back story on those episodes and as I've said, its quite deep and complicated. But good, because its just not some shallow plot. The sweet moments of the male and female lead were also just right, not too mushy or overdone. Just enough light moments to rest from the serious moments of the drama. Action scenes, fight scenes were awesome. I give this a HIGHLY RECOMMENDED rate and its not just because everyone says so. Almost everything in this drama was done perfectly.

Temperature of Love - It was a good drama. Not great, but good. It has its ups and downs. It got boring in the middle, but nevertheless, it picked up and managed to tie all the loose ends on the last episodes. I am going to be biased on this drama because I have to be honest, I just watched it just because of Yang Se Jong Oppa's smile....The female lead's character pissed me off when she got too indecisive in keeping the male lead. Too many issues, when they should have just stayed together all the time and made it a smooth and relaxing drama to watch. 2nd male lead should have had a partner in the end. I felt sad for him. 2nd female lead was too bratty but still had a partner in the end. I hope love changed her attitude. You may or may not watch it.

Just finished watching the finale ep. Its a RomCom, but not enough romance and comedy. haha. I mean, its not to its fullest extent. There were good parts of course. But seriously lacking. For one, there was no chemistry between the male and female lead. Then the comedy part is not all that funny. But one thing I was thankful for is I don't have the 2nd male lead syndrome, which I somewhat always develop. The male lead, sometimes looks good, other times, not. Same with the female lead. Acting was pretty decent. Plot was pretty light. Do I recommend?...Maybe, maybe not.

Because This is My First Life - finished this when it ended last Tuesday. Just as I anticipated, it was a great drama from start to finish. At the time it was on air, there were like 10 ongoing dramas I was watching, so I almost skipped it. I'm glad I didn't. It was a good watch. The build up romance was good and refreshing. The characters were able to express everything through their eyes. Male and female leads were both great in conveying the message of the drama. Learned a lot from this show. A must watch in my list.

I will be watching more of his dramas or movies. I also liked the noona romance on this drama. Its so heartfelt and touching. Its also so cool that Lee Jong-Suk's role can read minds. Overall, casting is good and story is right on. Highly recommended!

While You Were Sleeping - Just finished this drama late last night. It was good. It closed all the loose ends properly. It was a good drama with good writing and plot. However, for my part, I felt that the romance was somewhat just forced or squeezed in. Just to acknowledge that Suzy and Jong Sok Oppa were a handsome pair in this drama...Or maybe its just me because this was supposed to be a law thriller and I like romantic comedy too much. Either way, just my thoughts...
