Incredible!

This has a creative, expertly constructed plot that is so smart and complex without being confusing and moves at a break neck pace. I was on the edge of my seat every moment. There was still plenty of time for character development though and there isn't an ounce of fat on the bone. Absolutely loved the male lead and female lead; I was so emotionally attached to them. Every actor killed it. Great villains that come in multiple flavors of evil. Superb music. This is a perfect show that thrilled and moved me.

Moving and sensitive - worth the time

I was moved by this sensitive drama and how it tackled the difficulties of aging, grieving, and economic hardship. The sweet moments amidst the tragedy stirred my heart as well. The performances were uniformly powerful and nuanced. This show also provides an example of a big shocking twist done right: it's foreshadowed well and its reveal makes what came before richer. The drama's slow pace did test my patience in the middle but I'm glad I stuck with it and powered through my temporary boredom because taken as a whole this story really worked for me.

Sometimes there's no need for a sequel

3 years I waited for this and when it got near, i was so excited to watch this with my daughter. I have rewatch S1 several times and it was one of my favorite Kdramas. I could not even finish this sequel and decided to drop it after almost watching half. All of the favorite characters in S1, what happened to them??? How did they get such a dismal arc in s2? I would expect them to be closer, stronger and more bad ass in S2. Instead they were divisive with each other, most of them were just there and then dying for nothing. The character building from S1 just gone to nothing.

And then a bunch of characters were introduced. There were so many and created so much weird complications. None of them (maybe just 1) were memorable or even worth remembering. The ML Hyun Soo was even missing a few eps and whatever he got was just not worth the wait.

The plot was a lot more hopeless, the child monster daughter of the firefigher and their relationship was very very depressing and i don't know why it feels like if S1 brings out the best in humanity, s2 brings out the worst. And definitely created an unwatchable sequel. I won't be waiting for S3.

Perfect 10 then crash & fall into the typical dreaded C-Drama ending!

Will this drama be remembered as one of the best of 23 or Worst ending of 23?

Up to Ep 18:
Legendary actress paired up with OST fan fav = Chemistry Explosion! Unlikely pairing magical to watch!
Granted going into this drama I was already a fan of both leads so my tolerance for possible drama plot holes may be higher.

Already what's working:
1. ML/FL Paring: You have ML Liu Yu Ning who may not be the best actor (but lots potential) has been a fan favorite for his personality and music talent. He is paired up with a veteran actress Liu Shi Shi, who pulls off the badass female assassin way better than idol actresses. She's beautiful & fierce and even though it's been ages since she's done a period costume drama, she still can do those fight scenes well. Together the chemistry is intense with the slow burn romance brewing. By ep 11 it will definitely hit those emotions.

2. Script/Storyline/Execution: The script flows very well with just the right amount of humor. Characters (including the important supporting characters) are multidimensional.

3. Strong supporting cast. The rescue princess group is very entertaining.
-Love seeing Alen Fang playing a flirtatious character rather than the typical serious prince. The character allowed him to showcase his range of acting skills. When he cried, it hit.
-Wang Yi Zhe, the doctor that delivers the one liner at the opportunist time is interesting as well.
-He Lan Dou: The naive princess with the MOST character growth in the drama. She's probably my favorite character.
-Chen You Wei: Such a cute character.
Kudos to the casting & acting!

4. Fight choreography. Superb for actors that are not professionally trained. Superb for Liu Shi Shi who's no longer in her prime. But yes, there's a lot of freeze shots ....

5. Lighting, make up is not crazy pasty makeup in overly dark lit settings.

6. OST - Amazing!

Cinematography is not amazing but good enough. I could use a little less comedic sound effects but all that is minor consider the quality of this drama.

30s episodes in, the drama went into a direction I was NOT hoping for. In too many C-dramas they just kill off all the characters and call it a day (probably they got tired of writing) I get it, much of the drama is about sacrificing for the greater good. When will script writers learn that there's a 1000 other ways to end the drama....

Even though ending sucked to me I still think it's an exceptional drama and worth rewatching until the leads got together.

Tenants Unite!

For a while I viewed "Sweet Home" on Netflix but I kept passing it up and moving on to the next series. I guess I have seen a million zombie (creature) shows to the point that I no longer place priority on these shows. After the opening of season 2, I decided to catch up.

Sweet Home takes place in a dystopian world where some humans have developed supernatural "curses" or infections that transform them into monsters. The story follows Cha Hyun-soo, a young man who finds himself stuck in a deserted apartment complex after a mysterious incident. Through the complex, Hyun-soo encounters several individuals who have become infected monstrous creatures.

A little of what makes this show interesting is that it allows you to get to know most of the characters before they are infected. In addition, they are infected in different ways. Neither the look nor the outcome is the same for all of them. Cast members are numerous in the apartment complex, but this number steadily diminishes as events unfold.

In terms of actors, Song Kang (Cha Hyun Soo) stands out. I almost didn't recognize him from "My Demon". Also, Lee Do Hyun from "The Glory", Go Young Jung from "Alchemy of Souls", and Park Gyo Young from "It's Okay Not to Be Okay". It is an interesting and diverse group of people living in the complex as they navigate the complex and struggle to survive while dealing with the hard fact that each one is becoming infected one by one.
In order to survive and uncover the truth behind the apocalyptic event, they must work together. The strongest and most compassionate of the infected is Cha Hyun Soo. His character brings depth to an already twisted atmosphere.

Visually, "Sweet Home" is pretty well done. Though the CGI is not exactly top-notch, it is acceptable. Set production design involving the complex has an eerie rugged immersive atmosphere.

I think "Sweet Home" is an impressive addition to the K-drama genre, it's definitely different. It delivered a thrilling and emotionally engaging story that kept my attention throughout. A compelling plot, outstanding performances, and visually stunning presentation make for an entertaining viewing experience.

This is what I thought about the show

Anxin and Ling Yue met when they were young. when they grow up into adults, they meet again. they both start having feelings for each other when Ling Yue keeps a low profile about his real name and his family. There are 7 episodes I find funny but I do know this show has 24 episodes. At first, the first character I didn't like was Ling Fang because he squeezed Ling Yue's leg when he didn't believe he was hurt. I was happy that Ling Fang and Ling Yue was getting along with each other after he saved Anxin and Ling Yue's life. the second character is Xin'er because she keeps on questioning Anxin and Ling Yue's relationship. The one I was mad about was when she entered the apartment after Ling Yue surprised Anxin with her apartment. She also decides to trap Ling Yue using her brother's phone to tell her feelings for him and he tells him to think who he wants to be with. The third character is Ling Sheng because he hides his true colors while trying to kill his older brother and showing his dad that Ling Yue is dead on a fake newspaper show that he changed after the fact he was the one that attacked Ling Yue's New Way company. He is also was jealous that he is in charge of L Group which is his dad's company.
when Anxin and Ling Yue were in their on-and-off relationship, I found they made up after the next two episodes or one episode quickly. when Ling Yue was worried about Anxin being hungry and not sleeping it made me care that Anxin is lucky to have a boyfriend like him. I do like that two cats are a part of the show because I am a cat owner myself. I did enjoy the show because of the part of the episodes and I think it's funny. Anxin and Ling Yue did have a happy ending!

I WAS BAWLING BY THE END.

The headline says it all. I thought thia movie was amazing. Although it did have some questionable details, it was still good. The ML fell in love with FL. And ofc FL ends up falling in love with ML. What I liked about it though was the fact that he knew he wasnt good for her. He still wanted to be with her, but he wanted to change for her. Cliche... maybe. But I think its cute. I also felt really bad for ML. His life became shitty because of his brothers business mistakes, and he decided to take on the burden. While doing so he remained as positive as possible while doing what he needed to do to protect his family. I think its adorable how even in the end he made sure that his family was taken care of and the ML too.

Mature Love-Story and Tear Jerker 100%

This series will make you cry, fall in love, and leave you with what if's. The ML and FL are both great actors and well-known in Kdramas. You will find yourself in a serious mood watching this and it has a lasting impact on love and the society we are in. I love the soundtrack, all piano and Billy Joel Piano Man was excellent to be part of this series. Watch this if you want a mature kind of love story that tackles not only a May - December love affair but also achieving your dreams and facing consequences to make things right.

Youthful memory

I’ve been hearing about how good this drama is. It was on my watchlist but never really had the chance to watch it til Monday this week during my day off. I literally binged it.
I love it! The story. Chemistry. Family. Conflict. And the perseverance.
I don't really know how to explain it but this drama is very inspiring and has good meaning about life.
I'm thankful for the inspiration and motivation for life.
This drama has definitely inspired me to go for it rather than miss the opportunity.
The story about impaired hearing is very inspiring!
The quote that Chan said to Cheo is
“You don't enjoy music with just your ears. Music makes you feel with your eyes, mind and heart.” ep 12.
This drama gave me an open view of people who are struggling. And that we should be thankful for what we have. We're all struggling in life however, there are ways to overcome those difficulties. Ways to make life fun by being positive. Going out. Hanging with friends and family.
Very youthful.
The acting was amazing! I love the cast! I love the 1995 group and the 2023 group. I'm happy I get to see Choi Hyun Wook act as a student again. I miss 25-21!??

Thankful for their amazing acting! The way they acted while doing the sign language must be hard! Truly a work of art!
The singing! Guitarist! AHHHH

Disappointing Plot, Frustrating Storyline

What a wasted potential. The acting from actors were great but the frustration I had in the middle of the plot was so serious that I just had to go here to give it a rating to vent it out. I can't believe they wasted so many earlier good episodes only for me to witness the crap of the 20+ episodes.

No proper communication, FL doesn't know how to apologize and she's dragging the issue for way too long, it's deeply frustrating. To think the characters are all working professionals here. FL is mature & great at work, it's not even her first relationship. She came from a 5+ years relationship yet that doesn't show in the story. The BFF is also stupid & overconfident, can't understand why FL listen to her when she doesn't even know how to keep a long-term relationship. So many unnecessary misunderstandings & miscommunications and the introduction of ML's childhood friend to the later story is also unnecessary.

I came here hoping I would learn how to effectively flirt, only to find out later it's showing communication red flags. Only the acting of the actors are carrying the whole show.

A classic 90s showing how pure love can move someone.

Read some reviews here and I guess I have to write a review that is not biased. Some do not like this because they feel the FL Asano Asako is condescending and a cheating character. While the ML they think is too nice and stupid. Now I am going to share how this impacts me. I watch shows that gives an impact in how the actors made me smile and cry. On how the actors show the characters and not act awkwardly. I do not care how realistic the script or story was written..that is why we watcn films because neither of it is true. Watch this film if you want to feel how the ML loved the FL eventhough he is the most stupid person and ugly man that a pretty young career woman could fall in love with. How the FL forgot her old love and realized that all the time it was a different kind of love that she was looking for. If you want to be moved with the old song.."no other love" which perfectly fits how the FL thought she could not love anyone anymore from her dead ex fiancee and finds new love with the ML. Watch this if you believe that people change..and you can learn to love someone.

Love Against the Grain

Production, Acting, Storyline and Cinematic direction was very good. This series was beautifully done in merging the understanding and challenges of worlds, class, status and abilities all in one. The chemistry between the leads was heart tugging at times, yet drew you into the pace and intention of the drama. The OST was good. However, the cinematic attention to detail is really what makes this story shine. The leads were very good in handling and conveying the dynamics of conflict, challenge, compassion and change towards one another. The plot and subplots of trials and challenges didnt feel forced or unrealistic. The storyline had times were it felt as if it may drag a bit. Nevertheless, it didn't veer off too far where it would take away interest. The was definitely worth the watch!

If you love SLICE OF LIFE, Hop On!

With same old cliche; rich Ceo, Contract marriage, childhood trauma and all the other BS going on as always.
This was a breathe of fresh air. There have been others trying the same theme but execution didn't go well.
This went perfect!
Everything Flows naturally, there is no over acting.
I can't even imagine other actor playing the Lead roles. li xian and liu yifei just FIT right.
There is slow burn romance but you know what for this series its okay! there is no forcing in the plots .
All in all as a slice of life lover, this was IT

A K-drama that actually K-drama'ed after a long time!!

Every character is written SO well, and I mean so damn well!! You know an author is good when you can't even hate the "bad" guys and root for the greater good for everyone involved.

Every character, interaction, arc, just everything made sense. It was all intertwined like life often is: and is it NOT easy create such a remarkable story with loveable characters. Kudos to the author fr.

There was not a minute that was boring, I was glued to the screen the entire time wanting to know what happens next. Even the most mundane things were interesting and when the showed the purpose behind every little details.. WOW!!

And not just the story.. the actors, direction, cinematography, music, EVERYTHING HIT!!

Everyone did so well; I laughed with them, cried for them, cheered them on. And I'm still so invested, I can't to find out what happens next. I noticed many elements that they might play on in the next season and I can't wait to tune in!!

A Befitting Sequel to 2022's Sleeper Hit

Disney+ is back with the sequel to its 2022 hit “Soundtrack”. Starring Park Hyung Sik and Han So Hee in a “Friends to Lovers” romance, the show was well-received because of its heartfelt story and the natural chemistry between the two stars. “Unrequited Love” seems to be the recurrent theme in this series. Banking on this premise, “Soundtrack #2” stars Geum Sae Rok, Steve Noh and DEMIAN in a surreptitious love triangle that is equal parts exciting and intricate. With Director Kim Hee Won’s return, you can expect great things and honestly, I wasn’t disappointed with the pilot episodes. Despite the short format, the first two episodes weave a somber tale encompassing the main lead’s past affairs and their present trajectory. It is as slow burn as it can be and yet, the characters are so quirky; you can’t help but fall in love instantly.
