the best thai BL I've ever watch

Story: I can confidently say that this is the most heartwarming and relatable thai drama ever. Tian, being a teacher after a car crash that almost costs his life, meets phupha, a forest ranger, and fell in love. I love how they write Tian's character development, from a men who doesn't believe in anything, to someone who inspires others. i think this is very nice.
Acting: despite being new to acting, mix portrayed tian with so much feeling. his expression is very good and not awkward at all. the chemistry between mix and earth was so nice. earth as usual, did a very great job. he deserved more popularity.
music: as a traditional music fan, i really liked it when they used traditional thai music instrument incorporated in the song.
rewatch value: since the final episode was released, i already rewatched this for idk how many times but I remember I watch this everyday in a week after the finale.
overall, it was a great BL with unnecessary drama-llama and has a really warm story that could make you cry the entire series.

A good series, more and less wasted by a incoherent writing (on some arcs)

Plot: Reunion 7 years later, of 2 ex-lovers (he is now a lawyer and sheis a photographer) who had left on bad terms, then exile, marriage, divorce, etc.
Always loving each other, they will little by little dispel misunderstandings, overcome obstacles and succeed in being together.

PROS:
+ Story (more or less) intelligent and realistic.
+ Rhythm of narration approximately correct, but lengths in the last third.
+ with Wallace Chung (ML) & Tiffany Tang (FL - with really, really ugly hairstyles and inelegant outfits (-̩̩̩-̩̩̩-̩̩̩__-̩̩̩-̩̩̩-̩̩̩))
+ for the youth part Luo Yun Xi (ML) and Janice Wu in FL (both excellent)
+ Very good OSTs (especially the song sung by Wallace Chung).

CONS:
- the part supposed to be located in New York is not credible at all: the settings, the streets,... Seriously? Has the director already set foot in New York? The "marriage circumstances" part isn't credible either. No more than the Divorce part. Serious !

- This narrative arc conveys the image of a gullible FL, even idiotic in its immense naivety. And she's supposed to have managed on her own, without money, for years in NY??

- The adopted child (100% American actor:( ) is “unadopted” to return to China with his mother?

- The final episode is a puzzle of flashbacks. The ending could have been so much better...

=> this series could have been a MASTERPIECE with better writing. It remains pleasant to watch thanks to the dream casting.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

How Did I Ever Sleep On Mask Girl??? A Straight 10 out of 10!!!

I avoided Mask Girl like the plague. A grown woman wearing a mask and dancing online? Count me out. Then I saw an online review and learned that my girl, NaNa, was in it so I thought I would check it out. Here's the thing with K-dramas. They can start out excellent, start to hiccup during the middle and fizzle out toward the end. Not Mask Girl. It was compelling from beginning to end. Never a false note. Every actor played their role to perfection. I even forgot that they were acting or what I had seen them in before, I was that drawn into the story. I streamed this in one day. I'm so glad all the eps were available to stream at one time.

I won't give anything away about the plot. I will say that there are no cheap plot devices here, no forced cliffhangers and no sharks to jump. Just super clean writing from beginning to end. Every actor shined. They portrayed the human condition to perfection. Not once did I have to suspend disbelief. Not once did "that can't happen" pull me out of the story. Not once did I think something didn't make sense. No scenes felt like useless filler.

There's nothing cute about Masked Girl (although there is dark humor), there's no formulaic romances or any sweet, pretty boys to swoon over but once you watched the first episode you'll be hooked. Amazing story, excellent actors, tight plot, no dangling ends here, there and everywhere. What more could you ask? I was wondering what the future of K-drama would be and the future is here.

You owe it to yourself to watch Mask Girl. You won't be disappointed.

Well-Crafted, Practically Perfect Romantic Drama With Rom-com Feel.

I loved the strong female lead; both the actress and the way her character is written. The actress had great comedic sense and portrayed a wide range of emotions with nuance. Her eyes are very expressive. The male lead is well matched with her and they have great chemistry. He was good at acting stoic as the character with emotions underneath the surface. I couldn't always tell what the emotions were, but I could see they were there. I also had second lead syndrome (for the actor and the way the 2nd male lead was written) and I liked the way the triangle was sorted out in the end.

Consistent build of emotions and tension through all 8 episodes. Did not fast-forward through anything, even the third time I watched it. The blend of sweetness/cuteness, humor, desire, pining, love, and angst lead to a very satisfying experience. There's a lot of well done comedic moments, many of which nade me chuckle or laugh out loud. I'm especially impressed with the consistent undercurrent of emotional angst that was built on easily believable emotions, perceptions, and misconceptions based on story situations. Yet the plot never felt forced. The angst was so well balanced with feel-good moments that it didn't make the series feel heavy, even though there was a lot of it. It was satisfactorily resolved, so it hurt perfectly!

The ending is a clever twist on a common rom-com cliché and was very satisfying.

The mostly instrumental music fit very well and there were some beautifully shot scenes. The script and dialogue are very natural and didn't have any clichéd lines (at least none that I remember).

Ep 7 is from the ML point of view.

Acting needs more work

The premise is good, the script needs some work. The main actors are being overshadowed by the support cast. Their acting needs some work in other words.. im still waiting for everything to be better.
Im just a bit frustrated as the plot is really good but the delivery fails in so many ways. The pace isn't consistent. The acting has some promise but the lead actors are still lacking. The female coroner is supposed to be smart but im not getting that vibe with the lead actress. Its like the
The script has some big holes. I am still waiting for it to improve but im already on episode 8. All im seeing are good secondary leads while the main actors are being overshadowed.

Some Parts Are Unlogical

I think it’s either at episode 16 or 17, when Rong Er was caught for killing her shifu in front of Ruyi pavilion. Wu Bai Qi and Prince Su arrived at the pavilion by horse riding. Then when WBQ wanted to send back Xuan Er home, instead of riding the horse, they walked! Hey, didn’t u come by horse, why need to walk home?

The CGIs, some scenes look funny. Then, the zoom in zoom out scenes make me ROFL.

ML’s acting somehow a bit stiff, but I guess he has improved a lot since the drama was recorded few years ago.

I’m still watching the drama, so far the plots are fine to me. Probably will continue till the end.

Choi Young's Character

I don't watch faith dramas because of Lee Min Ho or Kim Hee Sun. I watched the drama, because previously it was played for Lee Joon Gi before the agency sent him to do military service. Joongi is the prince of historical dramas, so i really wanted to see him in the drama after knowing the synopsis. Lee Min Ho did a very good acting, i agree. But the problem here is that fans mistake Choi Young's character for their own imagination. I totally agree with @imjacouple x acc way of thinking, Choi Young's character wasn't created just for Yoo Eun Soo's character. But Eun Soo's character was created for Choi Young. I've also bought the book in Japanese, although here we see Eunsoo appear more often than the other characters. Actually the main character is Choi Young, everything Eunsoo does is for Choi Young, but not everything Choi Young does is for Eunsoo.

For me, this acc really understands each character THE BEST, the fact that s/he has the Korean version of the book and s/he said that s/he didn't come to this drama because of Lee Min Ho, but instead s/he liked Lee Min Ho because of this drama. All prove that s/he understands. But i will not tell the story of this drama. I just want to say that the characters in this drama (especially Choi Young) are misunderstood by some Lee Min Ho fans. For the first time i found a logical fan of this drama, @imjacouple acc

All the fans chattered about the love story, but s/he really explained the meaning of the king to the warrior choi young. I think s/he is still kind enough not to say everything bluntly, i read the novel before watching the drama. And what i feel here is that the country is Choi Young's main priority, not Eunsoo. That's what made me like this drama, not their love story, but Choi Young's character who really looks like a real man. Not obsessed, not greedy, not thirsty for intimacy (with his lover).

That acc really understands Gongmin and Young's friendship, s/he really understands it than other fans of this drama. I'm not talking about opinions, I'm talking about misinterpreted fvcking facts.

Not Exactly The Strongest Comeback

The 2017 classic “Strong Woman Do Bong Soon” was a sleeper hit simply because of the fantastic chemistry between the main leads Park Bo Young & Park Hyung Sik. It’s quite difficult to come across stories where a female lead and her superpowers are glorified. This edgy fantasy element became the reason for the show’s success. As such, I wasn’t admittedly excited about the new reboot. It may be attributed to the entirely new cast that has no connections to the characters in the prequel. “Strong Girl Namsoon” finally premiered last week. The million dollar question that piques our attention is this- Is the spin-off as well as the prequel? I will answer this question as we analyze the first two episodes and dig deeper into the storyline.

Dream not scream

The Goblin & Grim Reaper's baby is all grown up. Mystic Popup Bar is a must watch if you like fantasy shows. Borderline dark towards ending, parallel world experiences through dream & touching mental health issues with care is all what this show does.

12 episodes of fun & learn kind. Loved how they have managed to put Kfood as an attraction too.

That Steve Jobs & BTS refrence ?Comic part wasn't great but not bad. Shower of oblivion will make you ponder over importance of memories.

It’s not so bad ,it gets better .

When I started with the first episode , I nearly gave up due to the second hand embarrassment and cringey moments but I still watched it .
Finally done watching it ,I kind of understood why it started out they it did . We are introduced to a nerd(Jao) who is more of a stalker to a guy he likes(Neun), Neun also likes him too though . There are other couples too. There’s even trans representation,GL and straight couple . We got to see how friendships can help. One of the funniest moments was when Neun went with Jao to his dad’s place , the dad was angry at him (Neun) not because of their relationship but the fact that his wife liked Neun because he was very handsome ?.
Overall the drama isn’t bad , it has some worthwhile moments . Also some steamy scenes that sent me into comas.

Confusing, but somewhat not at the same time...

To start off, all the actors were GREAT and they're amazing at what they do, and couples have chemistry. They're spot on when it comes to portraying emotions and expressing their characters wants and needs.
Leo made me hate his character, and then appreciate him once again.
The only thing I'm gonna be a little picky on is the kisses and editing/storyline.
Kisses don't have any feeling to them. It's like a tenth grade theatre show.
And then there's the storyline and editing. At times it was confusing, I'm not sure if it's the translations or the script itself, but at times I had to go back and pause to go over everything that was happening to be able to hang on, it got easier towards the end of the show, but at the beginning it was hard to really grasp anything.
I like to crochet whilst watching shows, but for this one I had to pay attention at all times or I wouldn't understand anything.
But the story is unique, and kbls are good at just that, unique stories we haven't seen before.
I do also wish they could clear up what that "incident" was that led to him almost being blacklisted.
But overall it's worth a watch when you're not tired and have time to give your full attention to the show!

SMN : Do you love me? YXC : What do you think?

Started this one when I feel bored with my CW list. I was immediately hooked by episode 2.

What I liked :

✅️ Enemies to lovers. I'm a sucker for this genre so can't help enjoying this one.
✅️ Sizzling chemistry between leads. 10/10. You could feel like their love is real not just acting.
✅️ Spectacular acting especially from male lead, Fan Zhi Xin. His facial expressions were so on point! When he feels angry , sad , depressed, confidence, satisfied , happy & love it was all shown in his eyes, face and the way he acted. Watching him here feel like when I discovered Ryan Cheng in A Familiar Stranger. I wonder why he is not getting popular when his acting was this good?? I hope he get cast as ml in many drama in the future because his face & his acting deserves it.
✅️ Addicting , intense & angsty plot: 9/10. Watching this drama quench my thirst for angstiness .The last time I feel so much angstiness like this was when watching TTEoTM 4 months back.
✅️ Perfect OST :10/10. My favourite song is Parallel World by Jin Guicheng.
✅️ Good cinematography. I like the way some scenes being filmed helped provide meaning & more depth to the scene while watching.
✅️ Easy watch . Each episode roughly had 30 +- minutes excluding opening and ending credits. So it didn't take long to finish one.

What I liked the least:

☑️ Okay mystery & revenge plot.
✖️ The fact that fl has the same face as ml's sister. But I can forego that fact considering ml and his sister been separated since they were child and didn't even meet when they're adult.
❌️ Boring second couple story. I skipped all their scenes.

Overall, MLM was one of the best short C-drama I've watched this year. If you like what I liked, enemies to lovers, good looking male lead with great acting , sizzling romance , angsty story and all that watch this & you might enjoy it!

The female lead is WHACK!!!!

This is my first review for a j-drama, and I need to get the angst that I have for the female lead character because I get it, making someone happy will make you happy but if making that someone happy put another person to be so heart broken that he will not go to work (and as a workaholic that means a lot) then you must rethink your means of making someone happy because what you are doing is stupid.
so for someone out there who wants to watch this series, be forewarned that the stupidity of the character of the female lead is absolutely unrealistic to say the least.
so good luck.

SPOILERS SPOILERS

The script was made by writing one cliche after another after another. I would have rated it 6/10, but misunderstandings were solved fast, the tone was light and it relaxed me while taking a break from two stressful dramas (All In and Hotel King). Following are some of the main cliches:

- ML fakes amnesia and convinces FL to let him live with her
- Childhood friend of ML is in love with him, she pursues him, tries to separate main couple. Of course she trips on top of him exactly the moment the FL enters the office and catches them.
- Childhood friend of FL is in love with her, he pursues her, tries to separate main couple. Of course the FL is oblivious, even when he touches her all the time, pulls her away from the ML, etc.
- ML secretly finds a job for the FL, and of course she breaks with him when she finds out
- FL is looking for her biological father, but of course his current wife fakes the DNA test. By the way, FL never finds out.
- Of course the ML and FL remember each other when they were children, although they only interacted once
- The ML’s competitor hacks his company, causing a financial crisis. More clichés follow this financial crisis:
--- Of course the Childhood friend of ML proposes a convenience marriage to solve the crisis, that leaks social media
--- Of course she tells FL she can’t help him with the crisis, and of course the FL goes away without saying anything to the ML even though they’re already in a relationship.

There's also the coworkers that bicker and then fall in love, the typical part with the obvious signs that the ML is going to propose, including obvious speech before he proposes, and still the FL is very surprised, and so on. Therefore I would only recommend this drama as a break between other dramas.
