Excellent

An engrossing, tumultuous love triangle with multi-dimensional plot and characters. I loved it, especially the gorgeous lead actress who gave a Tour De Force performance that is worthy of all C-Drama awards.

mature mature mature… not for the simple minded

this movie is definitely mature and nsfw or anywhere near others lol. i actually liked it tho. it made me laugh, but it also made me hide under my blanket out of slight worry. it seemed to me that the main leads problems arose from what happened to his mom when he was a child. overtime as he worked for shizuka he learned how to fix his issues and learned how to make himself and women happy.

the only thing i found strange was sakura… it felt odd knowing that shizuka was her mom and the fact that… well you’ll see. overall, the film was really good. it was cinematically made very well. the characters all had a desire to find a solution to their sex life which would over help their lives. and the cast portrayed them very well.

casting and details matter

such a letdown and it was easily avoidable because the webtoon this show was based on n for this show was good. the male lead should have been late 30s at the oldest and the dialogue and acting choices really made things awkward. i do appreciate it was only 12 episodes and it was a more adult show.

Concise first love story! Modern heart-tugging short adaptation of the manga

I was a little sceptical of this adaptation but there being only 8 episodes and broken up into 2 seasons, there are pros and cons to this. First of all it's a patient game to wait for all the episodes before you start watching. I became low-key obsessed with this drama! Perfect FL & ML, Great chemistry!..very aesthetically pleasing usage of filters, cinematography and certain scenes that is really pleasing as highlights of the story. example, the FL 'confession' attempt as the trains passed, the 'sniffing' scenes...so sweet and heart tugging....
Since it's a portrayal of first love, you really feel the young love that is blossoming and growing with the main cast. It also follows rather closely to the manga except since this is condensed into 8 episodes for the first season, I find its sufficient enough to highlight and not dwell too much on the side characters, focusing more on the interactions between the 2 leads n the friendship aspects that is so reminiscent of the youth phase. Perhaps because its rather condensed version, the buildup to the sense of 'loss' felt by the FL to the sudden absence of the ML was quite diluted but it compensated with the focus on the closer interactions of the two - Once again highlighting that they are meant for each other. I seriously cannot wait for season 2 and I hope they will continue to put focus on the 2 leads and the realisation of the love between them.
The first season had to build up on the both of them knowingly holding back with the FL taking more of the proactiveness, showing the 'passiveness' of the ML to open up his heart despite his continuing attraction to her. It was only mainly triggered by the showing of a rival that spurred him into some 'action' though without outcome as we know this will only come to actual fruition much later (if they follow closely to the manga). Overall this is a really visually pleasing and sweet love adaptation that makes me anticipate the conclusion by the next season!

Great drama!

Great acting and refreshing plot!!
Highly Recommended! 😁

Great looking actors/cast too…lol 😎

The show is not boring as every episode and characters have been very entertaining.

Underrated drama and I do not understand the low reviews. I mean other dramas have been really boring, bad and confusing. 🤪

One of the best so far for me for this ending year quarter.
I am looking forward to the next few episodes. …. 😊

I hope that the rating will improve as the drama progresses towards the end. ☺️

Adorable Angst free High School Love Story

- Genre –
School/Romance/Students/BL

- Brief Synopsis –
Protagonist A is expelled from his old school and transfers to a new school and becomes B’s schoolmate. From the first episode, he falls for B and is determined to date him even when B says he likes girls. In order to do so, he starts spending more time with B, who doesn’t seem at all repulsed by his flirting. Slowly they grow closer and start dating in secret. The story ends with them admitting to their friends that they are dating and B brings A to meet his parents.

- Plot and Storyline –
Very simple and predictable storyline with no plot twists or especially notable moments. Despite all that, the plot is very sweet and heartwarming as it focuses on the daily life of the main couple and the development of their relationship. Although it is slow paced and lacks angst, it is very enjoyable to watch. The intimate scenes are enjoyable to watch even if they are somewhat tame. I love how A takes care of B and B learns to rely more and more on A.

- Character Development –
N/A

- Acting -
The acting is really nice and the leads do a great job at displaying the love between the main characters. But outside of that, sometimes the acting feels a little awkward but not bad enough to make it unwatchable. The chemistry between the leads makes up for it.

- Production Quality -
Decent production quality with somewhat realistic sets and props.

- Writing and Dialogue -
Writing for the other characters can sometimes be a little cringey.

- Pacing -
Pacing is okay for a lighthearted love story.

- Themes and Message –
Themes for first love, bigotry, jealousy, compassion, friendship are explored.

- Audience Appeal -
Anyone who wants to watch a simple angst-free fluffy BL will like this show.

- Standout Moments -
N/A

- Criticisms -
x Nothing seem to happen in the show as the focus is the couple's everyday life. If the couple hadn't been so cute, this show would be extremely boring.
x The plot is extremely simple and predictable.

- Conclusion -
I might rewatch this series for the fluff if I didn't have other things to watch.

Interesting enough for me to watch till the finale… so yes, good drama

Many negative comments and low ratings… I am very surprised as I watched way worse.

I am bored generally around episode 10 of dramas. Mostly because the plot is slow as well as the romance. But the male character showed early on he was falling in love and I found it endearing so I kept watching.

Did I find inconsistencies? Yes. Did I find the script ridiculous at times? Yes. At times, I laughed at the poor script and edits… the piece of cloth to mend wounds because everyone knows it will heal miraculously with it… riding a horse with one hand with the fake background took the cake of ridiculousness 😆

But somehow the show grew on me.

I loved the drama A female who arrives at the Imperial College with Lusi Zhao, and of course, my expectation was high. Times flies and you are here has 2 focuses: genre equality and misunderstandings/miscommunication between couples. Genre equality in ancient times didn’t exist. Plain and simple. The writers of this drama played ad nauseam both. A Prince in Love of a Cinderella is extremely popular. The writers used and abused the themes.

This said, I still wanted to watch. Villains kept showing up when the love story started to be mutual. Insecurities kept them apart. I kept in mind that if they both shared their love and feelings sooner then the story needed to spice up with a more dramatic storyline. Most drama starts with fun cute and funny until mid-season, then switches to drama fights jealousy deaths and dramatic events. I see it in most dramas.

This drama is meant for teens young adults and women. The eternal propaganda of education is key to helping the nation, family and in the end, the individual is very common in Chinese dramas. Women’s education leading to their freedom is a great possible goal but in modern times. Every time I watch such drama, I am smirking. Not realistic.

This show, however, is well played. Casting is good. Chemistry is great. Everything else goes from average to okay such as music, storyline, costume, and makeup.

As usual, the title doesn't make sense in English. Subtitles need improvement as well. But I get used to that. Same with inconsistencies, illogical historical context, etc. Especially the fact that the characters are never shown with severe injuries. Blood but just a little to not shock the public. The back nude was a nice surprise. Chinese dramas are generally very prude with female characters. Seeing a nude male torso or part of it is more common. Pity. Really. But Chinese censorship is sadly showing itself.

Both main actors are really good and on my list to find new dramas with them. I do not find them beautiful but their acting makes them beautiful. I watched many beautiful actors with poor acting and already forgot them. But these two, I sure will remember them!

Kudos to some support roles.

So for me, this show is a good one overall because emotions carried by good actors is there.

Rushed but still eating it up.

Let me tell you about this one *insert giggle emoji*. Yes this show is rushed and should’ve been slated for a 12 ep series however it’s not terrible. When I first saw the cover for this drama I was intrigued. When I then read the synopsis I was like “ooh this is for me.” But when I registered that it was MeenPing acting I almost fainted. I just love everything about MeenPing. Visually together they’re beautiful and compliment each other so well but baby gworl the chemistry is just out of this world. At first when I saw Meen was going to be in a gang I was not skeptical but I also was not convinced. But let me just tell you the writers said fear not because Meen is not going to be no punk ass gangster jajajajajaja. Anyways there’s genuinely only one bad actor so far I forgot his name but you will know who I’m talking about because oh God his acting is SO BAD. I cringe EVERY TIME. Watch it because it’s good and MeenPing are the leads lol.

Also known as Love, Life And Liberation

You might enjoy if you like character-based angst that's well acted, food tidbits from various cuisines, and can find satisfaction in a romance with physical attraction that doesn't actually get physical beyond holding hands.

It's helpful to watch through the credits to the end of each episode because sometimes there's a bit more to see (often a flashback to high school)!

General Spoilers below.
Love, Life And Liberation is a much more fitting title. The title Naked Dining is completely misleading. This is a very PG romance and the only "kiss" is a slight press of lips while one of them is mostly asleep. Even so, the growing mental and physical attraction is felt, especially from Sota. And that's important because he's the character that didn't know he could be attracted to men, and so him falling for Mahiro as more than a friend is believable. It does not feel like "just a bromance" as some other JBL series with similar character progressions do.

Sota's confusion and progression of feelings for Mahiro were well-paced and very believable. His missteps while he struggles with that and his fear of losing Mahiro's friendship may be messy but are understandable.

Mahiro runs away from things a lot, even (or especially) things that he wants, which at first kind of irked me until I thought more about it. It's an instinctive defensive mechanism for fear; to avoid disappointment, rejection, or negative judgment. While this can be frusterating for the audience, there are people who really do behave this way. Mahiro's hesitancy and fear are noticeable even in the high school flashbacks so it seems life has reinforced this response in him. And I can understand him not wanting to be a sexuality "experiment" for the person he's in love with.

There are a LOT of misunderstandings, but they are also at least fundamentally understandable. What's different in this series is that the characters do actually try to communicate with each other! But often their fears lead them to either put on a brave face or to filter what the other person is saying to match what they *expect* to be said. This type of thing actually happens a lot in real life, so even though the misunderstandings are drawn out dramatically, it didn't annoy me too much because I could understand the progression. And the misunderstandings here really have a cascading effect. (They do get resolved satisfactorily.)

The actors were great, especially Kondo Shori as Sota. They made me smile and also tugged so hard at my heartstrings that I teared up. The secondary characters are well acted and likeable too.

The series is character-focused without much plot. I was really happy that they made 12 episodes (20-25min each) instead of 10 because the character and relationship arcs felt complete. The last few episodes didn't feel rushed like many 10 episode BLs do.

The cinematography was good and the music was okay but not memorable.

It left me feeling very satisfied and I could see myself watching this again at some point. Sota's character arc was especially well acted and I'll want to see that again.

Very nostalgic

I just love this drama. I’m a sucker for cinematography. I just love whenever I watch a drama and the flashback scenes are done in a blue hue and have a hazy look to them. The shot automatically becomes nostalgic and warm. I love the main leads. Their chemistry was great and so was the acting. If you have a good story but no chemistry then it’s not good. If you have good chemistry and bad plot then the show is meh. But when you have a good plot and great chemistry then you get a 10/10.
I love how there wasn’t no unnecessary drama with any other characters. There was a moment whenever I thought maybe another character was going to cause an issue however the writers of the show didn’t do that and instead introduced a possible love interest in the future for them instead.
Anyways you should watch it because it’s quick and visually appealing.

Troupe storyline with annoying side character...

First of all this is your troupe storyline where the male lead's ex gf died of heart failure. I honestly thought it was going to take the male lead a long time to love again. I'm glad it want too long , it was about ep 6 , where he realized he likes the female lead. The female lead is oozing with beautiful, gorgeousness, she literally is oozing with confidence and sexiness. All of the clothes she wears suits her so well and they make her stand out. I like the female lead because she is smart, tough and brave.

I really disliked the evil sister, annoying ex boyfriend, and betraying staff. Their actions made my blood boil and my heart racing lol. If they didnt have those scenes , this drama would off been a 8.

I like the occupation of the female lead and how she helps people to design houses. The male lead character to be honest is a little weak .. He couldnt even say what his feelings where to the female lead. His parts of the drama was actually quite boring. All of the obstacles and struggles fell to the female lead.

Also not enough romance. I feel like the leads have decent chemistry but not too many kissing scenes.

While others don't like the side character romance, i quite enjoy their storyline.

a good filler show

this drama would be a good filler show if you don’t know what to watch. i watched this as a filler show and by the time i finished i knew exactly what i didn’t want to watch lol… it was okay, except since it’s short it’s all over the place. i really found the characters weird lol. the mls relationship trauma….?? was he a minor?? anyway it’s all over the place, but the scenes between ml and fl were the only thing that had me stay. some of them were kind of hot, and others were very harrassy…

but yeah, this is a filler show at most…
