Character/ relationship development and plot twists

I really enjoyed this drama, the best thing about this drama for me was the relationship between Seungchun and Tae Yong which really doesn't developed until the second half of the drama. This drama was kind of slow because a lot of the plot twist, relationships (non-romantic) and essentially the more interesting storylines do not come in until around episode 10.

I did not like the romance in this drama. There was a huge time jump in this drama and I don't understand how the romantic relationships between all of the characters remained the same during and after this period. The only good relationship this time created was the parent/son relationship between Tae Yong and Seungchun's parent's and I would even say a nice relationship between Seungchun and Tae Yong's 'father'. I loved Munki's relationship with Tae Yong and Seungchun, despite them both being the same person to Munki, their relationship with Munki was VERY different. Tae Yong and Munki had a brotherly relationship. (I don't watch BLs and usually don't randomly ship guys but) I started shipping Seungchun and Munki, heck they were the only 'couple' I shipped.

I preferred Yu Jin over Joo Hee. Unlike every other charecter in this drama Joo Hee was the only one who stayed persistently the SAME, no character development, nothing, she is so self-righteous to the point that it was annoying. Yu Jin made mistakes, but she changed a lot throughout this drama from being selfish and cold, to someone who actually cared about Seungchun. Joo Hee was the only character I did not like and I wish we got to see a lot more of the brotherly bond between Seungchun and Tae Yong instead of the romantic storyline between Seungchun and Joo Hee. (SPOILERS) I would have been fine with her had she just stopped after discovering how Seungchun swappeed places with Tae Yong, but then she spent the rest of the drama begging him to switch back, to be himself etc, despite the fact that Tae Yong was happy being Seungchun and Seungchun had already been Tae Yong for over 10 years, at this point he had no right to switch back.
I wish it was Yu Jin and Seungchun at the end and Tae Yong and Joo Hee, both pairs would have been perfect for each other.

I will not go into detail about the plot twists, but I feel like it was quite predictable. You see, every single person who has used the golden spoon, for some reason in this drama, have the exact same view on poverty, on how "being poor is a crime".

I liked the ending of this drama, but I wish we got Tae Ying and Seungchun's bromance instead of Yun Ji and Seungchun.

The best about it are the smiles

This drama is very light and soft, which I really like, It has a few cringe scenes but overall it very funny and entertaining.

The 2 boys have a good chemistry, and they compled each other very well. I absolutely love the various scenes were the just look at each other, is so wholesome. I really like the kiss scene at the end, because it was so lovely and unexpectedly passionate.

I do wish they do a second season, because it will be so interesting watch them grow, and I really would like if they make it more real, and show of us of Yen Chan fels, having in mind that is his first relationship with a boy.

Overall is good, but short, but wholesome and pretty

The last few episodes threw me for a loop

When I started this drama I had a hard time watching it because there were a lot of awkwards scenes, but the last few episodes turned everything around.
First of all let's talk about the story. The story was very well made and I really enjoyed it. Even while skipping awkward scenes, (seeing how I literally hit myself when watching awkwardness I didn't think it was such a good idea to watch those) the story was still very easy to understand.
Like I said, the drama started out with a lot of awkward scenes. While I now understand why they were necessary, it still gave me a hard time watching this and it thus took me a very long time to actually finish this. I have to say that I even had the drama on dropped for a while there if I'm being entirely honest... But after a while I decided to start watching if again and boy am I glad I did.
Those last few episodes threw me for a whole ass loop. I went through 3 or 4 emotional rollercoasters. Especially the credits dancing scene from episode 11... That one actually made me cry, which I must say doesn't happen often.
Long story short, even though this drama started out very awkward, these were probably some of the best ending episodes I know.
Let's move on to the acting. The fact that the acting was so good that I could easily understand what the characters were feeling. Which is actually very hard to do. The only point in this serie where I thought the acting was awkward was the way noey's mum acted during the scene in episode 12 where noey asked thi to marry him. I found this very enjoying too look at, so if you get or got that far I recommend checking her out.
The rewatch value of this one was relatively low for me. I have a feeling like I'll rewatch the last episodes but probably not the rest because of the earlier told awkwardness. That's why made this one relatively lower.
The overall score is still high however, seeing how I really enjoyed watching this one.
Hope you have a nice day/night and I hope this was helpful. Goodbye??

I would like to see Xu Kai's talents utilized.

It's boring. And 40 episodes is too long.
I watched it with high expectations because it stars Xu Kai, who is known for his acting ability, but I was very disappointed.
It's not Xu Kai's fault.
The script is boring.
Moreover, it is a CG-based drama, which I don't like at all.
I don't like fantasy dramas to begin with (although I thought The Legends was interesting).
Imagine the scene before CG, the actors are acting in the dumbest possible situation, and you can't help but laugh when you watch the drama.
Already dropped.
Xu Kai belongs to a big agency and may not have the right to choose the drama if the company tells him to, but I think he should choose the script because Xu Kai's acting skills are solid.

BEST YOUTH SERIES FOR ME THIS YEAR!!!

I usually tend to be quite picky with highschool or youth themed dramas because I tend to find them a bit repetitive but this was everything I wished and hoped for...having watched two favourite youth series from the same director I definitely had my hopes high and guess what! Each and every one of them was met?

The plot was light yet had such depth to it, the story was nostalgic and emotional but at the same time funny and the Dialogue was literally everything...the youth and friendship moments were highlighted perfectly and most of the times relatable, I cried, laughed and giggled with them..it was a consistent plot which didn't include any unnecessary plots but just centred around the main characters, growth character development, relationships, friendship, emotions and life.

The characters were so good each one of them fit their role, I loved the female lead and how gutsy and brave she could be most of the times, I admired how her character was written..Male lead was shy and an introvert for a change most are but he won me over without even saying much, the other characters were amazing too..my fav support role was Guan Feng I loved how he stood out despite only appearing a few times on screen...the cast did an amazing job in potraying their characters.

The chemistry between the leads and our second couple..the leads had that cite type of chemistry that had me giggling and kicking my feet most of the times and most of the times I would complain about extra couples but our second couple in this was everything..they had chemistry, I didn't cringe one bit and their story line had an actual impact to the story...loved both our couples.

The osts and cinematography was everything, her recording their moments with a cam corder was nostalgic and the cinematography was dreamy like..the osts were amazing..each one of them tbh...❤️

I can't find actual complaints about this series, except say that I loved each and every episode and how it just kept getting better and better...loved the story flow to the characters to the osts and cinematography I loved everything.

If you looking for a nice light hearted fun youth series then this is it...?

Wish it was a show

I would have liked this to be more stretched out with a show, everything happened so fast! I did find it dark, gritty and I could feel for our lead. I just wish we could have seen more of everyone, it would make us feel even more for them.

I can't get over one thing, did he really have to go and do THAT?! Like, the man has lost enough thank you very much!

Although I enjoyed the show I really think it went to fast, so much information jammed into a short movie. I know there is a second movie that I will watch, but it could have easily filled a 12 episode show in my opinion.

This isn't for the faint of heart. I wish we would have gotten more of the dark and gritty side of selling oneself.

I can't help it that I love dark stories

Seriously, if you don't like dark stories, toxic stories, then just don't watch this. I personally loved this. I loved how messed up their back story was, how it was overcome and how this entire part of their life went. I do think they need to catch a break though, poor guys. A show like this is relatable and tough but for the dark souls out there, it is perfection.

I reeeeeally need the origin story in a show form.

I really cared for the characters and every couples story. I enjoyed the suspense of not knowing when and what will be remembered next, if at all. I found myself rewinding many scenes to rewatch.

You HAVE to watch the uncut version to really get everything. The cut version is sugar coated compared to the uncut. I started with 7 cut episodes and realized I hadn't been watching cut so I went back and watched all the scenes I missed.

Also, it may be toxic but two dudes did the wrong thing and ended up in love anyways, so don't be mad that a villain ended up with a villain.

Action packed

This drama promised action, and action it had, from the get go. The action choreography was just out of this world, *chef's kiss*. The acting was also quite good, with Woo Do Hwan and Lee Sang Yi being the best action pair one could ask for. I loved how the women were also quite well equipped to handle their own, and not mere sidekicks. I just wished Kim Sae Ron didn't have this abrupt exit though.
Let me just take a moment here to shower praises on the lead actors' bodies. They have WORKED OUT FOR IT, and it shows... Every muscle, every sinew in their bodies are so fucking well sculpted, it was a feast for the eyes ? I was particularly impressed by their running shots - most of them were taken in a single shot, and they sprinted the whole time. Just goes on to show how FIT AND ATHLETIC the actors were for this role. It was a short watch, but packed with a lot of suspense. Till the last half of the last episode, I was unsure if it will get over in one season or if there will be a 2nd season chasing the villain. Also Park Sung Woong as the villain was a delight to watch. Cold, killer eyes and that maniacal smile was enough to protray all the malice that his character demanded. This was quite the refreshing watch after a series of average to bad Cdramas binge sessions. Overall, would totally recommend it for the action scenes and the easy camaraderie between the two lead men.

A watchable funny Romcom with many flaws and stupid ending, but I enjoyed it.

ADWTF is a Romcom starring William Chan and Zhang Ruo Nan. A decade ago, a deadly earthquake almost claimed the life of a high school girl named Xu Lai. Only the quick thinking and bravery of a young firefighter Jin Shi Chuan saved her. As he rescued her from the falling rubble, she became smitten with him as they made a comforting “promise” – and when they parted, she resolved to seek him out at all costs. Now, 10 years later, Jin Shi Chuan has risen to the rank of captain. Xu Lai has become a news reporter. When a major highway accident happens, Jin Shi Chuan saves her again. While she recognizes him immediately, he does not do likewise – and thinks she is just a trouble-making reporter.

To make matters worse, her report is taken out of context, leading many social media posters to criticize the fire department! But Xu Lai’s love for him has not diminished – and she resolves to fix this and win his heart at all costs. She becomes a dog trainer – helping train special fire-fighting canines who can help rescuers in their efforts. This brings her closer to Jin Shi Chuan.

I like the drama and the camaraderie among firefighters. The supporting cast of firemen was fun, and each of their characters was fun to watch. The onscreen chemistry between the ML and FL was not bad. It seems she was the take-charge type who did the chasing and courting in their relationship. The 2nd and 3rd CPs took too long to warm up; actually, the 3rd CP was not needed in this drama, imo.

The last two episodes were stupid, and the ending was lame. Overall, it was an okay drama; I give it a 7.0 rating.

The Pinnacle of Youth Dramas

Oh my god. I really don't know what I'm going to do with my life now that this show is over.

At first glance this might seem like every other Chinese youth drama — sunshine FL/quiet ML, some grade-obsessed parents, sports day, a playful second couple — but so many things actually made this drama shine above all others.

The first thing is just how the plot really feels like a coming-of-age drama, without being overdramatic or sugary. I know it might be fun and inspiring when we watch a youth drama and a friend group is depressed when they find out someone's transferring schools, only to band together to stop it. But in real life, there are a lot of things outside our control and the only thing you can do is let it happen, know you can get through it, remember everyone still cares for each other at the end of the day — no matter the circumstances. That's what this drama did: physical obstacles were rarely overblown into emotional obstacles. It might sound bittersweet, but the fact that the plot flowed this way made it ten times more relatable to real life.

It really also meant that each character was given their time in the spotlight. Every person dealt with something themselves and everyone else was there to support them. Each person in the friend group had a distinct personality and subplot and it never felt choppy or random. It felt simply like learning more about your friends over time. WIFTY struck a perfect balance between giving its characters freedom and still making them feel inseparable that I don't think I've seen done so well in any other show.

I need more drama writers to take notes from Su Zai Zai, who seems like a typical bubbly FL on the surface but was actually really straightforward, stood up for herself, was smart in her own right, and had her own goals and was realistic in chasing them. She's absolute proof that giving an FL a crush doesn't mean it has to become her entire personality.

Zhang Lu Rang was a fantastic ML too. Once again, he might seem like the typical quiet and smart ML, but he was never mean or rude or overly perfect, and he had his flaws too that SZZ perfectly balanced out. This drama perfectly encapsulated why they belonged together. This was one of the rare dramas where the couples didn't get boring for me after they got together.

In fact, the chemistry is absolutely amazing between both couples, who also had their distinct dynamic and plot development.

Between the friendship warming up your heart and the romance giving me butterflies, there are absolutely no moments in this drama that I would skip. The OST fits perfectly and the cinematography is beautiful. The only bad thing I can say about this drama is that it ends.

not me ugly crying. OMG - half way through & it's goes from sad to sadder in a loop & as sad / heartbreaking / heart-rending as this is, it is also Beautiful(!) & i aint talking about the leads (who r really good looking) or the acting, which is stellar on all accounts. the story is just wow. the way this plot unfolds, touches ur soul. even if u haven't experienced loss or love, u know what it means in both cases, watching this movie.

both leads (recognized for other movies & drama's, so) i knew they can act - they had banging chemistry & the plot just takes this to the next level. i am jaded, so my mind went to different places when taking into account their age difference; one being jaded not believing in love. while the other being an innocent all pure & trusting, read to fall at a drop... but this has layers & every scene we see more about both leads, seeing that the jaded one might be more trusting & innocent, while the younger more innocent one is really jaded. so however i thought this gonna unfold, as the plot progressed, so did my conclusions change about where this will go. but from the get go, had a bad feeling one will die, and yet that wasn't the end of the others suffering.

find the title of this movie ironic, as neither leads (or any of the character's for that matter) can be characterized as egotistical. yeah when Kosuke got his mask on, he is the epitome of an Egoist - but that is nothing more then a mask, that hides a pure heart that has suffered so much pain OMG but my heart broke for this dude by the end - really beautifully poignant

The WOKE vs FICTION!

I remember reading a couple of reviews before I watched this on a few platforms. One reviewer talked about the woke crowd. Yes, it does seem as if everything under the sun has been shifted under that category. It was originally used to bring awareness to police shootings. Now it's overused, holds no value, and no one cares to listen. Can you blame them when we do things like wanting to bring awareness to a series about FICTIONAL characters?
Sheesh!!! That's like me assuming if my nephew watches Spongebob with a scene of him burning crabby patties, he will do the same. It's just not going to happen. He knows it's not real and if he doesn't like the new episode he turns the channel. If a 6 y.o. can do something as simple as finding something else to watch instead of complaining, why can't adults? If your complaints are interfering with your morals and values, don't watch it.

Do you recall the series, Saimdang, Light’s Diary? (Great series by the way.) There was a scene of a character who was very young throwing herself at a much older man. She promised to give him kids, I think. No one said omg, that's disturbing, no one. Ffwd to 2023 and a bra strap seems to be the bigger problem. You can't say it was because it was allowed during that time. I could argue and say boys at school were also innocent when they pulled straps trying to inflict pain.

How about we as Americans have watched far worse on cable television or streaming platforms, i.e., Scandal, The Handmaids Tale (boy that one would really wake the woke up), and even the Outlander had a few moments. No complaints right, because you understood you could have just dropped it or not watched it at all. However, somehow there we go inserting ourselves in the political standards of shows allowed in a country we don't reside in nor have citizenship for and probably use subs. It's been 18 years for me and I still use them. Imagine trying to place your morals and values on someone from another country with a different culture and language. Don't get me started on the people who are upset because he had multiple partners living in his head rent-free. Like no one has ever cheated but the divorce rates due to unfaithful spouses are very real all over the world.
If you notice they are not even reviewing the story just a few scenes of him being too dominant in their eyes.

None of this has any right to be on a review. None of what they wrote has a right to be on a review. If you are reviewing based on your standards, then say that. Say, you didn't like his domineering attitude because “you” felt uncomfortable but please include it has nothing to do with the actual story. Also, don't realize you haven't proven your argument and then totally discredit the series to do so. There is nothing wrong with not watching something that doesn't align with your values. However, it would be wrong for me to leave a horrible review because of that. I just want you to see how absurd it is to place importance on someone’s imagination. It was, after all, birthed from his imagination.

Now to the review.
1. The one or two holes were overshadowed making them appear as just an extra component.
2. It has a couple of overacting moments done by support or guest roles but the leads made up for it.
3. It's worth a try. It could be a hit or miss.
4. The story was an untraditional writing style for most but I like different.
5. Overall acting was standardized.
6. Romance and relationships from a male’s perspective are seen throughout the entire story.
7. Brotherhood.
8. Written from an actor’s perspective with no skills or prior education that I know of, and he did it exceptionally well.
8 1/2. Seasoned veterans that brought it to life.

There you have it, my 8.5/10 rating

Happy Viewing

Love and Friendship

such a beautiful movie. the movie makes you glued to the screen and i would like to thank the director for that, so many beautiful scenes and the color gradient so good. i’m not really the type to cry over movies but this one hit the spot. reminded me of my own past friendships and the hardships we faced together. i also wish had done things differently but the past is the past.
also definitely one of kim dami’s best performances. jeon sonee was also good but in some moments her acting seemed a bit off and Wooseok also looked kinda weird in some parts. but really good movie overall

'Hidden Love' will give you Goosebumps- Get ready to get addicted

Let me tell you this is my first time watching any Chinese Drama, and I am glad that I started with this series of Hidden Love. Hats off to the writer, director and the screenplay, it has been so beautifully arranged that you wont feel as if you are watching any drama. You will gradually become the part of the story. Each scene, each act will take you to the next level of excitement, and if you are a bit older ( in your late 20's or in your 30's) u will feel like going back to the same era when we used to be very young.

The story is not new, but the execution is very beautiful. I mean its normal for a 13-14 yrs girl to have infatuation over the boys older than us and especially to have crush on our brother's friend is very common. But the way the story was weaved and shown. the gradual improvement and growing up of the little girl into a young beautiful women is phenominal.

The screenplay will bind you, and of course the actors have done a great job, because even for a moment i never felt i was watching a series, I almost imagined myself reacting the same, had I been in that position.

May be i am too mesmerized with the drama because its my first time watching C-Drama. Do watch it, not for the story but for the chemistry. both actors looked 'Made for each other' kind of couple.

MUST WATCH

The other day i was watching reels on IG and stumbled across to this series. At first i was reluctant whether should i watch it or not. I thought i should give it a try and boy? IT WAS WORTH WATCHING.. The story kept me hook actors were too good. RIN is my favorite character ? she was so selfless. Yashiro & kenta were adorable. I kinda liked it when sent kenta to the alternate universe. I knew he was also in love yashiro but he didn't realize it until he went to that alternate universe. God story was also painful ? i can relate to him.. Regret was eating him alive. This series different aspects of love❤. I'm really that i decided to watch this series. I know Japanese bls are gems but this one has different love in my heart❤. There's something bittersweet and nostalgia feeling about kamisama no ekohiiki.
