OHHH GOD! I have a lot to say!

We have 2 main couples here, and 2 hints about two other couples that are having their arcs aired now (as the time that I’m writing this). But, let’s focus on the couples of this season and on the main points that I like to touch in my reviews!

The story itself is a little… I can't say that it's strong! The first 6-7 episodes are SO BORING, and that's totally because HillTer are… insufferable. I kept watching bcs my friend already warned me: If you pass the first 6 episodes, believe me, it's going to get fun! And she was right!

What I didn't like in HillTer story is that it just goes round and around. If they just… SIT and properly talk in maybe episode 2, the problem would be gone and by episode 3 they would already be dating. I also personally don't enjoy miscommunication plots, but this one specifically is insufferable… I also didn't like the flashbacks bcs as I said: it goes round and around and we are still getting into NOTHING. It moves so slow and repetitive!

Then, we get to JohanNorth… and that's, my friend, when it gets FUN! Well, honestly, their story itself feels a little confused and rushed, then later it makes more sense but still… it does have some little holes in the story and when I think about the storyline alone… it's weird. But OH MY GOD.

MaxkyBas chemistry is out of this planet. And their kisses are FIRE. It's been a long time since I saw such hungry kisses and it was amazing. What totally saves their arc is how they're such good actors and have such a strong chemistry that you are convinced by their story in the end, even if it's not very rational.

PondEarth are also great actors! It's just that I didn't like their characters much, and most of the time I have to admit that Earth's character was a little annoying…

The directing, in general, as expected of New Siwaj, is awful. Not his worst work, definitely, but it's the same thing as P10L or A Boss and a Babe: the amazing cast saves the day.

It's fun and enjoyable to watch! I'm definitely on my way to continue watching and go for season 2 now!

You must watch it...so that you will not regret??

Today, I would like to share my review about the Chinese drama Zhan Zhao Adventures. This drama is a wonderful combination of action, mystery, history, and emotional storytelling that truly captures the attention of viewers.

One of the best things about this drama is its exciting martial arts scenes. The fight choreography looks realistic, intense, and beautifully executed. Unlike some dramas that rely too much on visual effects, Zhan Zhao Adventures gives viewers a classic wuxia feeling that makes every battle more thrilling and meaningful.

Another strength of the drama is the character of Zhan Zhao. He is portrayed as brave, intelligent, loyal, and committed to justice. His character inspires viewers because he always fights for what is right despite the dangers and challenges he faces. The supporting characters also add depth and emotion to the story, making the drama more engaging.

The storyline is also very impressive because it is not only focused on romance but also on mystery, investigation, friendship, and honor. Every episode keeps viewers curious and excited about what will happen next. The cinematography, costumes, and historical setting are visually stunning and help bring the story to life.

When you are innocent but dumb that lead to your doom

*Sigh* DEEP HEAVY SIGH

Ambitious writing but disaster in coherence and execution. Over the top emphasis on a CYCLE OF PAIN. Glorified love story. Poorly written female character. The chemistry of the 2 leads that the story painstakingly revolved with is 0 - I skipped all their parts. Honestly, I don't get the rating-it's a bit high considering the repetitive dragged story.

The choice to write an immaculate perfect female character like, "it's her immaculate presence against the deranged lives around her." Made her character act as the "savior" of all the seemingly lost souls and at the expense of her sanity. HAHAHAHA INSANELY RIDICULOUS take to make an impression for these 20 dragging episodes. For the fate she suffered-honestly there were a lot of stupidity in her decisions-extremely dumb over the top innocence-in real life innocence won't save you-it's awareness, clarity and priorities and the grit to make the right decisions in the best way that you can. Easier said than done yes-but in here the female lead even has her best friend who has the best character development- the most levelheaded and as you can see the one who survived despite her background and suffering, she had growing up.

If there's anything the male protagonist and the female lead best friend are the best characters in this. Considering they have the most difficult conditions and mental struggle due to their family situation-yet they have the most character development.

The ensemble of is also good-their acting is really good, and they really carried the ambitious writing of this production. The only thing is the chemistry of the 2 different female leads with the male protagonist are just ZERO difficult to watch I can't even find the comfort that they like to convey in their story- instead of feeling empathetic- I just can't help to scold them like a true parent-like "KIDS you are walking straight into your doom!"

Also-the attempt to touch the concept of mental health-reaching out to those who need it-please no! Don't even think about that-this is just a marketing strategy of glorified pain without actually being grounded. I felt insulted at their take like huh? You made it into thriller-romance-horror-gory type and later claiming it as medium to reach out for mental health awareness-that's peak marketing bull!

My only comfort in this is the actress playing chou pin yu she's such a great actress and also beauty. One to watch out for as a rising actress! VERY little screen time and yet impactful one- I honestly watched this because of her and to my devastation she's almost nonexistent/ OK BYE next time I would read reviews to save my time.

Ending this review with a sigh after starting it sighs of utter disappointment!

The storyline was so eventful and memorable! It was such an adventure with hidden identities, coming back from the dead, and gathering power to find truth and fight against the abuse of power. Making new friendships at school and having a tournament was super fun to watch. The variety of characters with different energies was refreshing and added good seasoning to the story. I especially liked Situ and Liu Xu for supporting strong female characters. The evil princess was also really well done - probably one of the antagonists I appreciated watching.

However, I thought the chemistry between the main characters was not quite there. I'm not sure about Xue Fangei's acting in some parts, and it's a bit odd to see her "act cute" when her makeup and persona didn't fit that vibe.

My lowest rating to date

I can't help but ask if ryan is AI-generated here. In the era of microexpressions, he really needs improvement.
FL and the supporting cast were good but they couldn't capture my attention.
ML-FL Chemistry is non existent. I did not feel any romance at all, their hugs were painful to watch. The 2nd couple had more romance than them. It could have been better if they just focused on the brotherhood, sisterhood angle.
I love the costumes and LYN ost

PLEASE WATCH THIS!!

It's such a cute bl! I don't get why so many people hated it? The characters are all so cute and definitely individually add a lot to the story. PLEASEE give this a chance its so sweet I almost cried during some parts! I can't stress this enough, though the story seems a little dragged on at times, for ex the pork blood shop, even though the development of it was cute, I feel like half of the episodes were centered around it. Yo and Pun are such cuties, and I love how you can slowly see Yo getting used to Pun over time.

Sweet realizations of love

I really enjoyed watching this drama! The main characters' battles are quiet and reflective, and their actions bring humor and sweetness.

Xiao Qiao and Wei Shao's compatibility grows through compromise and understanding. I like Xiao Qiao’s internal strength. She consistently shows emotional resilience, political awareness, and quiet conviction. Wei Shao’s resentment toward her family is also within reason. As he slowly softens, we can appreciate their growth.

The bridging of these two characters, among their friends and family, was written well. Moral ambiguity allows us to decide right and wrong - where there is no correct decision and is very human.

adorable slice of life!

I know there’s only one episode out and there isn’t much that I could say, but I’m loving it so far!

this is my first time seeing Almond and Progress (I’m very new to Thai BL!), so I don’t really have any bias towards or against any of them. I’m mainly here for the vibes!

I love slice of life dramas! I loved how ep1 was so youthful and full of life. and the entire small seaside town was so pretty. the cinematography was absolutely beautiful! absolutely loved the late 1990s-early 2000s (i think?) nostalgic vibes they were going for. the color grading was so warm and soothing. definitely fitting the time and era they’re based in🧡

all 5 characters introduced so far were adorable! both Ko’s were so loveable. Almond pulls off the black cat energy really well. and Progress is so damn cute omg! I haven’t seen his acting before, but I thought he’s a pretty good actor. whatever overacting is or will be involved, I will blame it on the directing lmao. Augar and August are so funny, love how they’re always wearing matching clothes 😂 it’s sad that we didn’t get to see much of Achi in this episode.

I have my reservations with this director. I’ve had issues with most of the works I’ve seen from him so far. I really hope the direction stays consistent and doesn’t take a very cringey turn!

so far, I’m really liking this. will be looking forward to see where this is headed!

Respect ?

I think this was the first Korean film I watched back in 2020. Now we’re in 2026 and I’ve already seen it 3 or 4 times, so here’s my review:
-
-
-

The atmosphere is just incredible. I love how well it portrays people grinding through tough, messy lives that’s not easy to pull off. I didn’t know any of the actors beforehand, and I was genuinely blown away by their performances.
The story is really strong and incredibly moving, especially the ending. Massive respect to all those men 🫡.
The soundtrack is solid too.

They built up the disaster perfectly throughout the film, and the special effects hold up really well for 2016 the explosions, injuries, all of it looked convincing.

The main character’s death at the end felt completely logical, even if it was heartbreaking.

I highly recommend this movie!

A love story between fate and fragility

Doom at Your Service is one of those dramas that hits you in a way you don’t expect. It’s melancholic, but in a soft, strangely comforting way that makes the whole supernatural premise feel personal instead of dramatic. Park Bo‑young and Seo In‑guk have the kind of chemistry that doesn’t need big moments, even their quiet scenes feel loaded, and they make the fantasy elements feel real just by looking at each other. The show’s dreamy visuals and haunting soundtrack pull you into this little world that feels half‑myth, half‑memory, and it’s easy to get swept up in it without even noticing.
For me, this was an easy 10/10....as long as I pretend the side romance never existed. I love the actors, but I genuinely could not bring myself to care about their storyline. The guy felt so apathetic it was almost distracting, and it made it hard to believe he cared about her at all. Their scenes had zero emotional pull for me. I ended up skipping most of them, and honestly, the drama was better for it.

it was such a mess.

...it was promising at first...but then it gradually went downhill.
I have so many mixed feelings. Not the typical plot I would watch but I know there are people who would enjoy it.
Couldn't grasp the exact meaning behind it, honestly the main character seemed out of his mind at the end...
But might I say, WHAT A DAMN GOOD ACTING! From both of the main characters, really!
Got goosebumps at the theatre scene!
Felt bad for the woman, felt bad for the younger one too, the older one mostly annoyed.
The 'singer' has such a nice voice! Cute.
And im so happy it didn't end with a suicide!
But if anyone is looking for a happy ending, you won't find it here.
It was a hard watch

Brotherhoods galore

I had tired of watching overly heavy themes and wanted something for a casual watch -- so what better than a young and good-looking cast that emphasizes on brotherhood to fulfill this? Of course, because of what it is, I also highly expected to drop this relatively quickly. But the fact that while this isn't a particularly sophisticated crew of actors and the dialogue is rudimentary, it still turned out to be unexpectedly entertaining.

It truly is a series that revolves around many brotherhoods and thankfully does not include sappy romances. Although the direction of the plot and dialogue were underdeveloped and oversimplified, the plot flow was actually done quite well. Enough to keep me interested in heading toward the next episode, kept me rooting for the different bonds, and even had me shed some tears. Don't be fooled by the initial episodes of charm because it does start to twist into an unexpected and darker direction which gives it more flavor than others of a similar plot base.

While this isn't a masterpiece and there are the usual number of flaws, it still deserves kudos for being able to maintain its direction and for still being able to paint the story well enough. I would recommend for those who particularly enjoy brotherhood bonds and I'm quite surprised that at the time of my review in May 2026, there's only four other reviews. Compared to some other newer series that I've dropped, this would make this one pretty underrated.

I started watching this show (s1 and s2) shortly after the fourth arc finished airing. it was one of the very first thai bls i watched (I’m very new to thai bls!), and i fell in love with this universe! I’ve been eagerly waiting for the fifth and final arc since then🥹

I personally loved season 2 so much better than the first one. I really liked the format where they separated the arcs entirely, makes it so much easier to focus on one couple alone, also easier for anyone to skip an arc if they didn’t like it. the direction was so much better too (at least for me!), it almost felt like i was watching a whole different show!

I think the thing i love about the most in this show is the friendship. both group of friends are just love or die, and they’re ready to do anything to help or protect their friends! this kind of friendship is just so precious 💙

my favorite character so far is undoubtedly North! his comedic timing is absolutely genius lmao. he made me LOL pretty much every time he was on screen😂 this was my first time seeing Bas, and I’ve become a fan! he’s such an incredible actor 🥹

and then we have the couples!

FahPhoon were absolutely adorable. when I started watching season 2 right after finishing the first season, I was like “ooh yes I think this is my most favorite couple so far!”. it started off so angsty, and my heart broke for all the trauma Typhoon went through. but then slowly it started getting so sweet, i almost got diabetes! the entire gift and letter exchange without revealing the identity was so cute🥹

and then we had ArthitDao! i love how unconventional their story was. I was expecting it to be a bit more dark given the supernatural elements , but somehow it was more on the lighter comedic side.

the story of Arthit looking for his mother’s soul hit a bit close to home! as a person who lost her mother to cancer when i was just a baby, I could really relate to it. that part of the story broke my heart💔

Dao is so freaking cute omg🥹 i wanna protect him from all the ghosts in the world! I am not a fan of the forced kisses, but I appreciate Arthit’s sincerity and the love he had for Dao. and their chemistry HOLY SHITTTT😭 no wonder they became the most favorite couple for so many people!

I’m kinda sad that we didn’t get any TigerNao in this season, but I appreciated all the TigerNao crumbs we got in the first season. it’s kinda sad that we won’t get to see the rest of the crew in the final arc:( but I’m very excited to dive into their story! it’s probably gonna be hard to live up to the hype after ArthitNao’s amazing arc. I hope it can live up to the hype and gives us something just as amazing 💙

"He is good for nothing. I've made a mistake."

Birth of Happiness aka A Happy Businesswoman was incredibly close to being a great film for me. 1963 RoK (and most anywhere) wasn’t exactly a feminist utopia and the film's attitudes towards women reflected that. Yet Tosun had a strong desire for independence and used her wits to defy her parents and make money on her own. Of course, a handsome guy showed up and ruined everything, I mean, fell in love with Tosun.

Tosun’s father owns a bus and refuses to pay her for work she does for him. Around the same time, Shim Jae Gu comes to town looking for a bus driver job, part or full-time. Tosun’s dad kicks Jae Gu out believing him to be unworthy. Tosun has pity on penniless Jae Gu and buys him cigarettes and loans him enough money for a hotel. When her father finds out, they have a terrible row and Tosun moves out to make a living on her own much to her mother’s chagrin. She and Jae Gu hatch a plan to go into business together if they can earn enough money for a car. A developing love makes their goal more complicated.

First of all, Tosun was an amazing female lead for the most part. She was optimistic, inventive, resourceful, and bounced back when life knocked her down. She could outcon a conman and was always searching for the next best way to realistically make money. Though she was tight with her cash, she also helped people when needed. Jae Gu, on the other hand, was easily discouraged, emotionally weak, and easily duped. When the going got rough, he went drinking, gambling, and seeking intimate entertainment from the local bar hostess. Worst of all, he blamed Tosun for his failures. As so often happens, the heart wants what the heart wants and Tosun loved Jae Gu.

The film also focused on Tosun’s relationship with her mother. Tosun’s mom ran interference for both of her daughters with the dad as he was a difficult and stubborn man to deal with. When Tosun moved out, her mother was devastated. Aside from the loneliness she would face without her daughter, girls could not leave home before marriage or else their “innocence” would be questioned. Tosun refused to let that belief limit her.

I liked Tosun’s drive and cheery disposition though people did not want to get on her bad side. She could defend herself and reputation with words and fists. The romance dragged this film down as I could never see what Tosun saw in Jae Gu. Worth a watch for Tosun or if you are in need of inspiration to try, try again in life.

13 May 2026

B & W note: The film was quite dark in places and smudged looking in a few others. Mildly distracting but I’ve seen much worse.

AKA Tosuni: Birth of Happiness
