First few episodes is confusing, they keep repeating the same footages from previous episode. And there's a lot of empty scenes where the leads just stare into nothing with ost playing in background.

It took me some time to understand what happened to Jungwoo and why he couldn't write anymore.
The love triangle was interesting, i thought he would end up with Junghyun, but then there's Taeyoung coming between them. Taeyoung is indeed a good guy, he's positive and give good influence. But still, his presence kinda bother me. He clearly knows Jungwoo and Junghyun were together, but he went for it anyway.
And Junghyun, after 3 episodes he made me wonder if he's the villain or not. But i guess he's just a walking red flag.
TBH i don't feel the chemistry between them. The open ending just confuses me even more.

There's also something's missing from the story, but idk what it is...

Overall, it's an okay drama.
Acting was well done and ost was good. The message it trying to describe was good, but the execution is bad.
So i don't think I'd rewatch or recommend this to anyone.

for the most part it was okay

im a big fan of supernatural / sci-fi romcoms, so when i read that this j-drama has time travelling as a part of its plot i decided to watch it.

I'd say for the most part it was okay / cute ! except for the part that after FL time travelled back to 2010 (her highschool days) she was still attracted to ML who was 17 at that time (FL was basically 29 but since she time travelled she's back to being 17).

also, kaoru annoyed me because she wanted FL to be miserable just bcs her life is miserable (i know what she did is what caused FL to time travel but still).

i also want to add that the characters were pretty good but the chemistry wasn't that good. sure they looked cute but it just felt weird and awkward ? idk sorry ??

so yeah, if you're into time travelling stuff then you should give this one a try (the plot is really good and the loop was just perfect) ! but keep in mind that it's not the type of jdrama that will make your heart flutter lol but it was a nice watch (might i add that ML is cute so yeah lol)

Great start, amazing in fact. However, all that glitters isn't gold.

Hear me out. This was one of those dramas I dropped once, then gave a second chance, and then dropped again. That just basically means that this drama just couldn't work for me, no matter how hard I wanted it to.

The first 4 episodes are truly entertaining, though. Despite of the annoying side characters, the FL's complex character and the whole concept of an angel with a mission trying to help a broken woman fall in love and ending up falling in love himself is just right up my alley. The cinematography and production quality is excellent, and the story starting off was so full of potential and hope. The dynamics between the FL and ML was really good, and some scenes from the first 4 episodes are very memorable. Shin Hye Sun's acting is BRILLIANT in this drama, unbelievably good. And the OST? My god. I still have 'Pray' by Klang on replay.

However, the second half ain't so much fun. The ML starts to look more like a supporting character for some reason. I don't know if it was his overall character losing its spark, or that he began to have less scenes. The 2ML was too much integrated into the plot than I would've liked, and maybe that's why the 1ML started to blend with the background. But it's not like it was second lead syndrome or anything, the 2ML's character itself is annoying despite of all the backstory and he didn't have any chemistry with the FL. And the whole ballet institute inheritance drama and the FL's evil aunt drama was becoming too tedious, almost makjang-ish. Now, I have nothing against a good makjang. But I do have a lot against it if it's inserted into a drama that has a ton of potential to be something epic and deep.

All in all, it's not a bad drama. It definitely has many positive points about it, and maybe I'll tune into it AGAIN to really put myself at peace. But for now, the inconsistency in writing and the frustrating side characters keeps me from enjoying this.

Trust me, I LOVE a good cliche rom-com. Unfortunately, this ain't it.

At least not for me. I guess I understand why people would be so into this drama, but I personally just can't. The CEO arrogant ML gig is far from being my cup of tea, and the entire superiority/inferiority complex between the main leads being boss and employee is way too obvious. I suppose I should've expected this much from the summary already, but still, I hoped for some differences from the usual stuff we've already seen 5 years ago in romantic comedy K-dramas like this. But there are so many tropes and cliches in this drama, that it's damn predictable and at some point, it felt like I was watching one of those Wattpad fanfictions turned into a drama.

However, on the positive side, the secondary couple was admittedly the best thing about this drama. I loved their chemistry-- which I felt the main couple lacked, and I liked their characters both individually and together as well. They brought newness to a plate that's otherwise dull and has been done a 100 times before in the absolute same manner.

So, in conclusion, you could watch the secondary couple's scenes only and have some happy good thoughts about this drama OR you could put yourself through the cringe and utterly unappealing cheesiness of the main couple as well. But then again, everyone I know seemed to love this drama. I don't know, did we even watch the same thing?

This Teddy Bear was more substance than fluff.

Don't be fooled by the cute trailer.
This series is MUCH deeper than it looks. it touches on a very wide variety of topics, including some very difficult ones, and it handles them very well.
My compliments to the writers because this series of interweaving plots had to be handled very carefully and they did an excellent job.
I gave the series a lower rewatch score because it isn't one I'll watch again myself. Several of the storylines hit home a bit too hard for me, I even had to take breaks while watching the show to collect my thoughts. But only very well written stories can have that kind of impact on us, in my opinion.

The acting is quite good, a few misfires in some ways, but not enough to impact the over all quality of the cast.

The music rarely got my attention other than the theme. So it wasn't a distraction or pulling focus from the show and I consider that a good thing.

Special effects were cartoonish at times but in a way that would suit the situation. No downsides to them once you got used to them. It was a tad jarring at first but it makes sense in the long run.

Overall, this series could be a hard watch for some people with a more personal connection to some of the plotlines, but it is still a very good series and I'm glad I watched it.

A little bit too good to be true

If the summary doesn't state this adapted from the true story I'll not gonna believe this could happen in real life. At least not in my country. Haha...

One hella cooperation from policemen to doctors to flight crew members to the flight passengers make the mission possible. We life in the world that, full of chaos and fraud and all the bad thing happen in the world today, make we think sometimes good heart or humanity is like missing from the picture. But when you watch this act of contribution between people we still can believe that humanity still alive in human heart.

Watch this just to heal your heart. Relax and believe that human basicly good & helpful.

Steamy, Spaced out Hot Romance...

Woow this was something I had never seen before, yes it does have some cliches here and there after all it is a romcom but it is a fast paced spaced out romance that truly feels like it is from somewhere way out of this world... oosing with creativity, fun characters, artistic stuff, emotions and to be fair there is not a lot of plot, but who needs a plot when there is steam and deodorant?

The male lead is as obsessed with the scent of the female leads, he may come off a bit too forward , scary and to be perfectly honest a bit of a pervert/sex offender. Which should have raised a huge red flag... and send people running, but it is done in a way that ensures the viewers see those actions in a horror movie fantasy type way and not really as part of his character, I know this sounds completely off, but you will have to watch it (the whole drama) to see that he is actually one of Dreamlands most green flag male leads out there... . Seriously there are very few male leads that are as considerate, tuned in, self aware and able to reflect on their own actions as this guy,

The female lead is timid (for good reason), but she is smart, uses actual words (and scent) to communicate, honest and lovable. She experiences great development and breaks out of her shell the further in we go but she does not lose her introverted core or bra for that matter and I love her for it.

There are also a bunch of nice friendships, collegial interactions done right and a feel good aura all the way through..

The pace of this drama is rocket fast! So you may need to buckle up! and each episode provides a unique show of intimacy/ sex scene I am not going to say it was tastefully made even if there is use of rice, fruit and a whole lot of steam... but it is not rated R either in anyway as the most nudity we get is a sweaty chest iside a push up bra and a guy in boxers... Okay a whole lot of moist, sweat and symbolism.. But definitely more funny than sexy in anyway possible qualifying those scenes to the WTF Quirky Sex scenes hall of fame only topped by Ashes of Love...

So if you are in the mood for a decent relationship, good chemistry and something different where office rom com meets horror and fantasy this is definitely a good place to find it. Just make sure you can handle the sweat. Also the leads are indeed HOT in every way possible... I honestly think they were burning up in this...

Another way to define this would be to say that it is a bit likeStrangers From Hell when it comes to creating fantasy vibe without being an actual fantasy drama but instead of murder and horrible colleagues and friends this one shows the polar opposite... Romance and, good people and Fluff....

A Complete Miss

I desperately, and I mean desperately, wanted to like this ‘reality’ show about 10 gay guys from Hong Kong getting together for what was posted as a gay dating show. The production company seemed at least to me to be pushing issues where there were none and also contriving things that were not. Their interference either in the dating process or the control of the conversations was inappropriate, leading, and judgmental. This show also did not allow for the possibility that maybe just maybe none of them would want to date anyone on the show. If you are ‘selling’ gayness, then show it. Show these guys are real people not in some contrived or make-believe world that to some degree was unrelatable with an emphasis on what is wrong with them. They had a lot to say even if they did not say it. How? By being in it. That spoke volumes.

That is what you should have shown. You can read my full review at BLBliss.com.

Disappointed on the quality of challanges

Top 100 contestants in Korea like pro mma fighters, olympic medalist, fitness influencers, bodybuilders, pro rugby players, real cop, real army and etc compete in simple games like run away with a ball and carry sandbags to a station for weight ins. Many flaws in the game, how can you put man vs women in a mud fight?? Are these only kind of games that the producers can think of? Low class. Are they're not embarrased to invite such a high level profile of contestant to compete such a simple games like this.?? Survivor or ninja warrior are way better, with just normal people competing. No need to invite high profile people in search for the top "physical" form crap. Very disappointed.

Plot hijinks, body snatcher style

I like short form c-dramas but not all such dramas are created equal. Some writers and directors have cracked the code to produce a rollicking fun ride while others just come across as cheap and nasty. This show is somewhere in the middle. There is a workable central story, but the delivery is problematic.

We start with the FL being magically transported into a costume drama and she has to play a role until she return to the present. We are not told how or why this happens. Each time she dies, the loop resets and she start all over again. This device can work a treat and the show certainly milk it for some laughs early on. However, it doesn't last. Once the story enters the rom-com phase, we start to see cracks in the narrative, and it becomes a lot less inventive.

Part of the appeal of a short drama is that the script is tighter, and the narrative is more focused. The flip side to that is a show can also wander down the garden path for too long, thinking it has plenty of time only to have to wrap everything up in a rush and leave zombie threads behind. Unfortunately, this show is heading in that direction. It feels like the original displacement idea kick started the project, but the bulk of the show ends up being the typical palace intrigue/enemy-to-lover trope. There is barely a hint of the FL being from the 21st century. There are the odd throwaway lines but that's about it. The FL certainly doesn't use her modern knowledge to gain an advantage. The FL is also surprisingly accepting of her fate and settles right into court life without efforts. There is little outward signs of initial shock nor confusion which is baffling.

I waited for the plot to twist to give some raison d’etre for the FL’s role but I must have missed it when I blinked. Yes, she is supposed to be the daughter of an influential general but why is she marked for death, repeatedly? There are mumblings about inner court power struggles, but it feels like the usual catch-all explanation. How does that fit into the original displacement plot or is it the other way around? It is like watching one plot being subsumed by another, body snatcher style.

Motivation is key to explain actions and we are given plenty but they don't gel together, it is more like motivation du scène.
To further complicate things, the usual inner court shenanigans are on full display and often push the main plot aside. All that manoeuvring make the proceedings very busy but yielded little. The show finally cuts to the chase and the OTP falls in love as mandated by the drama gods. The process is contrived and quite predictable. This is not helped by the weak chemistry of the leads. The show tried to tick all the boxes to convince us that they are fated but the show also put in subplots that will definitely push them apart. The script is a bit bipolar in that regard. That is a pitfall of a short drama, you still have to get the job done but you have to do it more creatively or it will be just like flipping through a playbook of tropes.

The leads did a passable job on the acting front. The support cast is a mix bag as you would expect with limited time and budget. Speaking of limited budget, this is reflected in the production value as well. It ranges from decent to questionable. Which bring us to the final point. It is a dubious decision to make this a court drama. The palace intrigue angle is old school and the tropey subplots are easy pickings but of questionable merits. The palace setting also necessitate more elaborate sets and fancier costumes. Monies which could have been spend more wisely.

The ending feels rushed and doesn’t gel with me. It is no surprised that she went back to the real world but is this a zero-sum game? What does it achieves? Who is the man at the final scene? Is he the King or the actor and why would he remember her? It is the tropey HEA ending we had to have but doesn’t deserve.

In the end, the show is short and watchable. There are fun and swoon-y moments. The bigger issues of inconsistent behaviours, muddled motivations and a somewhat wasted fish out of water setup kept it from reaching any real heights. The sleight-of-hand escape in the end is a cop out in my book. I needed some strong rose tinted glasses to enjoy this show. Peace out.

Some parts don't make sense, but you should still watch it

Unlike certain BLs which have a straightforward story arc, 609 wasn’t as predictable. The later episodes continue to be just as compelling with a constant flow of cliffhangers– I just couldn’t stop watching this series.

I had some trouble with the ending, which struggled to account for everything that happened. Bits of the story were sloppily linked together with tenuous threads, but overall, the story was well-written and rather meticulously thought out.

Ohm and Fluke are one of those power BL couples who haven’t been paired with anybody else, and 609 Bedtime Story shows that they have a special chemistry. But this isn’t an ordinary love story. Their characters live in different timelines and universes but with similar characters and events, so it takes a bit of effort to figure out whose world the story is in.

The result is a somewhat discombobulating but nevertheless passionate affair between two people who just want to make the most of their time together. At the heart of 609 Bedtime Story lies the dizzying mysteries of time and space, but with the assurance that yes, love must somehow be able to transcend cross-dimensional obstacles. Even if nothing makes sense.

Long time heard about this drama, watch little by little until finally I've finished it today. Haha...

This is indeed a very unique drama, funny, light hearted, but at the same time still quite heavy with it's political issue. What stop me from time to time watching this, as usual for me, the duration of K-drama with each ep more than 60 min.

But to be truth as non k-drama watcher the more ep sometimes the more confuse I am with the political issue. With the king become the doll king & all the corruption in the kingdom. Sometimes I feel like just want to drop this drama, but then they make it funny and full of excitement again with the story of the king & the queen. Hehe...

Unfortunately for me this drama close its curtain with weird phase or u may say the weird phase for Jang Bong Hwan in the future. It's like something amiss that I can't put my finger into....

But overall this really one good & unique drama for you to fill yours days...

Almost perfect but.....

Pushing BL in this series was never a good choice in my opinion. Most of the supernatural-mystery BL dramas that I have watched are very unique and interesting. They also come out as one of my favorites (you can check the list of BL dramas in my profile for your reference). In this series, those genres really stood out fantastically but failed to win my favor due to cringey comedy, snooze-fest school-related plots and irrelevant main-lead romance. Although I guessed correctly most of the mystery plots, but the plots are well-executed and almost flawless. The entire late-half of the series (except the last 10 minutes of episode 12) is very remarkable and above decent.

Truthfully, the main leads could've been the best of bestfriends in the entire 'drama world', not as love interests to each other. I tried to feel the love affection but I can't. Prince-Praifah is much more emotionally bearable.

In the end, I could still say this series is pretty watchable. Worth my time.
