My Royal Nemesis ?
The story My Royal Nemesis started off really well. We have a protagonist who travels into the future and has to adapt to all the modern things. We’ve seen this kind of storyline before, but this time I found it especially enjoyable because the plot seemed really interesting.At the beginning, Shin So-ri was written very strongly: a fearless woman who didn’t even give in when someone tried to poison her. She also had a strong sixth sense for danger, able to anticipate and avoid threats. The way she struggled to adjust to the modern world at the start was pure comedy. However, as the story progressed, her entire character changed, and by the end there were so many unanswered questions that it becomes unclear what the actual goal of the story is. This brings us to the negative points.
Shin So-ri is known for being able to sense danger in her life as a queen, yet she gets hit by a car, is knocked unconscious by sedatives in water, and is constantly monitored by her coworker—without noticing any of it? So a queen who spent years sensing danger suddenly loses her ability after saving Cha Se-gye in the car incident? She also failed to foresee all the dangers targeting Cha Se-gye, such as the knife attack.
Furthermore, Shin So-ri became weaker with every episode. At the beginning, she could fight palace guards from the past and take down several thieves in the modern world, but the further the story progressed, the more she became tearful, weak, and barely able to protect herself. That was really disappointing. I didn’t mind her emotional side, but it was unfortunately overused.
In addition, Cha Se-gye’s family was basically irrelevant throughout the entire story. The aunts barely did anything beyond a few weak attempts at minor schemes. The grandfather never took down or punished Choi Mun-do, even though he knew how terrible he was.
And then there’s Choi Mun-do himself: what was his actual purpose? He wanted to earn enough money to be a good role model for his son and give him a good life—but as a CEO, he already earns more than an average person and is already extremely wealthy in society. He had a highly paid job and strong career prospects, so why become even greedier and try to take over the company? For his stated goal, it wasn’t necessary at all. It felt like he considered himself a poor beggar, even though he was already rich. He could have taken care of his son perfectly well with his existing income while still living comfortably.
Overall, the entire family was poorly written. The antagonists were also rather weak. Even the traitor on set who sedated Shin So-ri is completely characterless, and by the end we still don’t know why she did it or what her role actually was. Cha Se-gye’s storyline—like dealing with the construction workers trying to kill him or the AI video incident—also feels unfinished.
We also never really see how the fashion and beauty division of Cha Se-gye’s company develops. In general, all characters feel underdeveloped and underused.
That said, I really liked the relationship between the two main leads—their chemistry worked very well. I also really enjoyed the dorm where Shin So-ri lived, especially her roommates and the caretaker.
However, everything I mentioned above, and especially the ending, was very disappointing. The plot itself was the strongest part of the story. We learn that Shin So-ri had already switched bodies with Kang during the car accident, and there were many opportunities to expand this storyline and properly explore the past. But the prince’s storyline was given too little attention.
I also didn’t like that time was partially reversed at the end to “fix” things, which essentially erased the version where Kang was queen. The ending felt rushed, and Choi Mun-do’s downfall was far too easy.
Overall, the series was good and entertaining, but it couldn’t fully reach its potential. Especially the last two episodes were far too fast-paced and left me with more questions than answers. I think the show was probably intended to be 16 episodes but got cut down to 14, which made the ending feel unbalanced.
Nonetheless, I had a lot of fun with the series, and I hope you enjoyed my review ^^

Definition of mixed feelings
I want to start by saying I really appreciate that this was filmed in Jeju-do and showed a lot of real-life struggles, although I wish it had gone more into the history of the island because there are aspects worth mentioning.This drama is full of amazing actors, and although the story is good, I could never rewatch it because it's just too painful - my heart broke for the main couple and their little children; Aesun had her stupid moments, though - I didn't appreciate the way she acted towards Gwanshik sometimes. Geummyeong as a teen / young adult, on the other hand, irritated me a lot because she was really ungrateful and rude to her parents. Also, speaking of a broken heart, Yeongbeom deserved SO much better...

I just can't get over the fact that Geummyeong and Yeongbeom didn't end up together - their chemistry was insane, and you could tell Yeongbeom really liked her; it would've been much better if the writers had made them stand up against his mother. Geummyeong and Cheongseop, however, had zero chemistry and their relationship just felt weird.

In my opinion, the drama could have been better executed, but even then I'd have to skip the extremely sad parts if I rewatched it - I'm giving the rewatch value an 8/10 because I feel bad, but in reality I won't rewatch it.

A Masterpiece
The FLs sister is forced to her death after being assaulted by chaebols. She schemes her way into elite circles using a pure and innocent image and takes down everyone from the inside. In a time when we are still waiting for justice in so many cases like Yu Menglong its a bittersweet drama to watch.The leads had great chemistry and the acting and directing was aces down to the side characters. Here is to hoping those who lost their lives to injustice get justice as this character did.

Drama with Disturbing Tones
I thought I would really like this drama considering I liked My Stubborn and TharnType. However, this one was too problematic for meLet’s start with the first couple, Rain & Payu. It seems like they went with the innocent = naive & dumb trope for Rain, but they took it was too far. I couldn’t stand his character. A rock would have more brains than he had. Then there’s Payu. His character was more tolerable, and the man playing him is so handsome (Boss). That being said, the power dynamic he established was disturbing. He constantly punished Rain if he didn’t act exactly the way he wanted him too. Said he had to “teach him manners.” There’s one part where he spanks Rain and then tosses him onto the ground. He constantly makes Rain say things like “Rain is begging Payu to stop”. Why are you acting like his dad Payu? Rain is an adult. It gave me the ick.
The second couple: Sky & PraPai. They were easier for me to watch than the first couple. I like how patient and supportive PraPai could be of Sky. Sky also set boundaries. They felt much more equal to me. Yet, there was still some disturbing topics around them. PraPai stalked Sky and tricked people into giving him access to his phone number and dorm. Also, let’s not forget they met because PraPai told him the only way he was allowed to leave the race was to go to bed with him. Basically Sky put it down so well that PraPai became obsessed.
The NC scenes were pretty decent. And I think the actors tried with what they had. But this script was just not for me.

feel good drama
this was a solid show. great story. super cute actors. acting was good. it was so funny. especially the best friend. i was thinking he might have been a bit old for hia partner but he looked older than he was. i loved the female coworker. no unnecessary jealousy or violence. just gentleness and understanding. after watching tharntype this was a rehab show for me. i loved the chemistry between them. the ost was not good. it was nerve grating. that’s why I gave it a 9.5. in the future when I have a bad day, I will just rewatch this show. it is really cuteWas this review helpful to you?

Was I missing a part?
During a live a fan asked if there was abuse in the drama and the FL said no and the ML looked appalled. Yes, there was a lot of toxicity. Her dad seemed like a genuinely kind person and her bio mom was a terrible person. Only taking one child? sheesh. The two leads had good chemistry but I feel like they kept leading up to a scene... that never happened. I liked the aunt and FLs relationship the best of all the dynamics on the show. So yea, that opening scene had my jaw on the floor. And then it just kept getting spicier. Like, WHAT?? Is this the new direction of NC scenes in BL shows because YES. I didn't cringe one time during those scenes and that's saying something. Between the use of music and muted voices, these were done SO well.The story was also pretty cute. You've got an older guy who clearly likes a younger guy but his history makes him scared to date someone younger (with valid reason). I like the ruse of teaching Jun how to do the deed. Sorn was DOWN BAD for him even though it took a while for him to admit it to himself.
I liked Tai and Champ as well. Such a sweet little side romance. The same for the girls as well. I'm not into WlW as much but I enjoyed their dynamics.
Overall, I liked it alot and can't wait to watch the specials.
