VERY CUTE!!!!! I LIKE ITTTTT
This series was very good like the story, scenery, actors, plot, etc. everything was just chef kiss đđĽ°đ¤ŠâĽď¸Japan always make their series so short đđđ˘đ like why do they always do this with good stuff. They always cut it short.
I need them to make every episode longer and have every series have many episodes.
And why do they always make the kissing scenes look so forceddd but its fine not all are comfortable kissing the same gender. Anyways, we can for the plot and story not the hot steamy scenes. Overall, I loved it (â Â â ęâ á´â ęâ )

Not worth it
Episode Zero is a three-part special that provides you with the backstories of Nao, Akiyama, and Yokoya.I only rated this a 3 because it doesn't feel like a must-watch.
It doesn't add anything to what had been told in the main series. Moreso, the acting and the execution are forgettable.
It doesn't help that the copies I found are played in low-resolution videos. Yokoya's backstory is only subtitled in French, so I had to put up with YouTube's poor autotranslate.

Let the spirit guide you
K-drama runs on tropes and a reliable one is the interaction between spirits and humans. This usually takes the form of a human who has to help wandering ghosts to fulfil their last wish and/or get justice for them. These can span the full spectrum from horror to farce. Most are decent, some are better than others. They all try to tug at your heartstring at some point regardless of their base genre. This one is no different.
What set this apart is Yoo Yeon Seok. He plays the titular role with gusto. I have to say the initial set-up is not particularly convincing. There is no rhyme or reason why he should gain the ability to communicate with ghosts. He is the Chosen Oneâ˘, I suppose . .
As expected, there is a string of ghostly "clients". It is an eclectic mix. There doesn't appear to be any overriding cosmic reason why they should get the golden ticket. The only link is the shaman's sindang which is now the ML's office.
The cases are largely independent and last about 2 eps each except for the last one. That ghost is the raison d'ĂŞtre of the show.
It'll be too easy to give the plot away so don't ask. Let's just say if you watch this from the beginning, the puzzle pieces are all there. If I'm honest, this is probably its Achilles heel. The show is on a well marked highway once the wheels start turning.
The show does a good job splicing scenes of the ghost and the ML together so that there is a lot more intimacy between them compared to the usual "deliver the letter" type of wish fulfilment. It is a clever motif.
I was fully engaged and I'd rank it as one of the better shows of 2026. I might even score it higher if it ended a little better. EP.16 is still good. I just feel the plot was on cruise control. That episode is also very sentimental. I'm sure some viewers will shed tears while others will reach for their insulin pen!
One thing that did bug me is our OTP's loveline. It dragged on for too long. It is very cute when we finally got the fan service, but why can't we get it sooner and more of it? That left me fuming rather than swooning.
BTW, there are a few loose ends that are never addressed, such as the fate of the shaman. It might be inconsequential in the bigger scheme of things. It does feel untidy.
In the end, I enjoyed this series, warts and all. The production quality is good and the OST is fine.
Rewatch is possible if you are a fan of the leads. A swoon-y romance would have made a rewatch painless. Such is life! Peace.

10/10 VERY GOOD!
I like this series so much! đđĽ°đ𼰠at first, It was a bit weird because the voice does not match the mouth but I gave it a chance and it was really good like a diamond in the rough very good plot and very good story. The actors and actresses in the story are also good. I am waiting for the season 2 because what was that?! we need more.
This year 2026 has been good so far hoping for more good series đŻď¸đŻď¸đ¤đ¤

One of Kâdramalandâs finest ghostâgenre dramas - great in its own right
Phantom Lawyer is a standout of the year for me â a drama that blends heartfelt storytelling, sharp character work, and a ghostâgenre mastery that only Kâdramaland seems able to deliver consistently. Every episode lands. Every case matters. Every emotional beat is earned.đ Performances that shine
The cast is superb across the board, with both leads delivering some of their best work to date:
⢠Kim Myungâsoo as Han Minâhyuk (ML) is excellent â principled, steady, and unwavering in his convictions. His ability to portray the different characters when they inhabit him is superb.
⢠Lee Seâyoung as Go Jiâwon (FL) is a revelation, taking her character from sceptic to full partnerâinâcrime with wit, warmth, and emotional clarity.
⢠Kim Kapâsoo as Han Gukâjin, the MLâs father, gives a performance so layered and affecting it genuinely deserves awards.
⢠Kim Jungâyoung, Kâdramalandâs favourite mum, brings her usual grounded presence and emotional truth.
Their chemistry â romantic, familial, and professional â creates a world that feels livedâin and deeply human.
đ A beautifully drawn OTP
Minâhyuk and Jiâwon are one of the most satisfying OTPs of the year. They support each other, challenge each other, and grow together. No unnecessary angst, no contrived misunderstandings â just two people choosing to stand side by side.
đť Ghost storytelling at its best
Kâdramas do the ghost genre exceptionally well, but Phantom Lawyer might be one of the best, if not the best. Each story is meaningful, tightly written, and emotionally resonant. Nothing feels wasted. Nothing misses a beat.
đ¤ Villains who make your blood boil
The fatherâson villain team is pitchâperfect:
⢠Chairman Jang is a snake â cold, calculating, and utterly devoid of guilt for what he did twenty years ago.
⢠Jang Doâhyun, his son, is infuriating in all the right ways: entitled, arrogant, and constantly throwing money and power around to get what he wants. He looks down on the ML, yet can never measure up in his fatherâs eyes â a dynamic that adds real bite to their scenes.
They are exactly the kind of antagonists a story like this needs: believable, maddening, and thematically sharp.
đ Final Thoughts
Phantom Lawyer is beautifully crafted, emotionally rich, and anchored by performances that elevate every scene. It honours its themes, respects its characters, and delivers one of the most satisfying ghostâgenre narratives in recent years. This is absolutely one of my finalists for the year.

A drama that heals you in silence
Your Radiant Season is a very quiet and gentle drama. It doesn't rely on big twists or dramatic moments-instead, it focuses on emotions, healing, and the small details in everyday life. It's the kind of show that doesn't demand your attention, but slowly draws you in through its atmosphere and characters. One of the strongest parts of the drama is how natural everything feels. The relationship between the leads develops in a soft, unforced way, built on small and meaningful moments rather than intense drama. It makes their connection feel realistic, even if it's not particularly exciting. The overall vibe of the show really stands out. The visuals are warm and calming, and the setting adds to that peaceful feeling. The OST fits perfectly with this tone as well-nothing too overwhelming, just enough to support the emotions of each scene.
That being said, the pacing can be an issue at times. The story moves very slowly, and there are points-especially in the middle-where it feels like not much is happening. While this works for the emotional depth, it can also make the drama feel a bit stretched at times. Also, the acting of the cast - especially in the middle portion feels a little too narrow and thin. The plot itself is quite simple and predictable, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but it does mean there aren't many standout moments. Some of the side characters also feel underdeveloped, which makes parts of the story less engaging than they could have been.
Overall, Your Radiant Season has a quiet charm to it. It's not a drama you watch for excitement, but more for comfort and reflection. It leaves a soft impression rather than a strong one. While it didn't do wonders for me, but it still is a feel-good, happy ending drama that we expect from such genre of dramas.
My Rating : 7.5/10

Decent drama with a good deal of sentimentalism
Started this as a "filler" drama & found it more interesting than I expected. I would have given this a higher score but1) the lengthy farewells of the ghosts at the end of each case were overly sentimental.
2)One ghost inexplicably showed up though there was no needed resolution/mystery to be solved.
Also, it was predictable that a particular ghost was going to show up eventually.
3) The ghost "possessions" didn't always work well in the story & since there was a known remedy it kept begging the
question :"why didn't they use it more!?"
4) One ghost possession had me cringing because of the budding romance between characters - without spoiling- all I can say is that it was a good thing it was a slow burn romance because otherwise the "eu" factor was setting in strong!
5) Leads looked a bit "worn" ( showing thier age in thier faces)-the make up artist mistakenly thought that making thier faces shiny would make them look younger.
6) Female lead looks like she has cheek fillers & they keep putting her in high waisted granny pants that don't make the most of her figure.
An episode or 2 before the end of the series the leads inexplicably look healthier & less shiny.
7) I was hoping for better resolution of the 2nd male lead and his relationship with the leads at the end, but it felt like they might have left an opening for a second season-which I would not recommend as by the end of the drama I was more than tired of the ghost possession trope
all in all the series was pretty well balanced & worth watching but not worth a rewatch

Slow but good when you watch the whole drama
Oh damn, I watched in the wrong order. Long ago watched Summer rose and it became one of my favourite dramas. Now this popped up out of nowhere and I watched it because I like the FL.There are many things that make this drama great. ML and FL are gorgeous and the chemistry including all what happens between them is credible. Good acting. Also the rest of cast performed really well. The cinematography is beautiful and doesn't look cheap.
Now, why am I not completely over the moon?
I started this drama one late evening and tried to continue it always in the evening and honestly I dozed off often. It is slow on purpose (my streaming had bad translation on top).
There is misunderstanding piling up on another misunderstanding so you just want them to come clean and talk openly and when it all ends you don't understand how there could be so many big problems (while other problems are being totally understandable).
I also felt it is incredibly sad. As I liked the FL and she experiences nothing but a sad life (except few minutes of backlash that happend before the current story and aren't present at all) there is no warmth for her and I find it extremely difficult to watch that. If there were more uplifting moments for her I'd be less critical, if there were more happy couple moments.
ML was convincing but sometimes I didn't understand what was going on, so much self deception you don't see your one and only love slipping away?
So, somehow great drama, somehow a bit slow. If you are in the mood for slow cinematography and sadness then you don't have to hesitate and watch.
I'll rewatch summer rose now.
Again, my drama had bad translation, so don't come after me :)

Concept 10/10 New Unique
Chemistry as couple 0/10
Intimacy 0/10
Believable couple 0/10
Even at home you don't see them act like married couple who married within a year
Why they married so soon after meeting each other if there is no love or passion at all
Marriage and then keeping it a secret doesn't even worth it if they are just sexless housemates , who want a wider bed so they can be more away from each other...
Such a disappointment
And it been been same problem with most of japanese drama
They can't handle multiple emotions at all
If there story say it focus on secret marriage that just it
Nothing more can be expected from them
One single track simple can't handle emotions at all.
Emotionaless robotic dramas.

If you stick around for the story, it's not that bad
I see a lot of the negative reaction was a result of the initial episodes. I wondered if 1st impression would taint the rest of the show, in case the story would come through. Several episodes in, it became apparent this new drama is having a hard time letting the past go. There are a lot of flashbacks to old key scenes from Princess Agents, re-enacted by the new cast which made me wonder how much was invested in continuing a new story. The first few eps follow all the of major characters from Princess Agents as they try to reposition themselves but no truly new developments arise. Even a wedding day sabatoge is repeated once more.
Anyway, it seems the story writing isn't the only thing not well invested in as poor special effects & cinematography were glaring in the first few episodes. In fact, the lake ice in the 1st episode looked as fake as it did in 2017, as if continuing the story from that point was taken so seriously that 9 subsequent yrs of CGI development could be ignored. Yan Xun's costuming & hairstyling is quite a step down from his appearance in PA; there's not much regal about him at all.
After Ep 6 there's a change in the production: the cinematography suddenly looked crisper & sharper. I started to feel that this was becoming its own show, completely separate from the original it tried to crawl out of. But a familiar storyline began emerging, with Chu Qiao now hitching to Li Ce's cause in the same vein as when she supported Yan Xun. I began to wonder if Chu Qiao ever does become her own person instead of always supporting the ambitions of men who would never elevate her above themselves. Her character got annoying as she became a football tossed between Yan Xun & ZGY. However, I'm glad I stuck it out because it did become it's own show which actually got quite interesting toward the end, but not without the huge price of an astronomical body count.
I don't have an issue with new casting because of the time lapsed (the former leads are almost 40 after all) & I actually like Li YunRui. As for Huangyang Tian Tian's young age, she does look strikingly similar to the insanely baby-faced Zhao LiYing of 2017, & I believe there was an implied age gap in the original story. But her range was very limited & she couldn't portray the 6 yrs of what should have been tremendous growth in the character.
And why are there so many close up shots of the actors looking directly at the camera while delivering their lines? The long stares with slo-mo flowing hair. This technique is so overplayed as to be almost comical. In fact, there are very few camera angles through most of the entire show, with only a handful of artful scenes. The acting & dialogue in general was stiff & choppy, which is not the fault of the actors. In fact, I got used to it as the story came through & it just became an individual characteristic of this show. The music also sounded like 10 yr old generic tracks, a reminder of the feel of the original show.
I would've expected a lot more from the director of The Double (2025). It's better off standing on its own as a drama rather than trying to carry on a legacy. The character development could've been deeper, otherwise the drama on the whole was a bit superficial. Watch it just to see what happens to everyone as the story eventually did get interesting & exciting. The finale, however, was lacklustre.

A rare find in the time slip jungle: A drama you wonât fastâforward, where consistency shines
Iâm just realizing that a good drama doesnât need to hinge on one heavily scrutinized traitâtechnical or otherwise. Honestly, Iâm not sure if this review will make perfect sense, but hereâs what I mean: this drama isnât flawless, yet Iâve been struggling to find one thatâs simply good (average at best) without hitting that discouraging midway slump where I want to drop it. And now, Iâve finally found a series that I genuinely enjoyed from start to finish, without the urge to fast forward through scenes. Thatâs rare these days. What I love most is its simplicity. No frills, no smoke curtains to disguise a weak plot. Itâs straightforward, respects its audience, and keeps the pacing tight.
The writing isnât perfect, but itâs consistent. No filler arcs, no unnecessary love lines. Even the flashbacks and sharp scene transitions, while imperfect, donât ruin the experience.
The characters are written honestly. Theyâre perceived exactly as they are, without forcing the audience to see them a certain way. The leads are mature, communicate well, and stay in sync without overexplaining every unresolved issue. Theyâre smart and scheming, but never cross into that frustrating âborderline evilâ trope.
And that plot twist, wow!!! I didnât see it coming, and the best part is it wasnât overhyped. It landed naturally, blew me away, and still made perfect sense!
As for the time slip trope, in most Cdramas, it is treated as a mere crutch, like a device to make it seem like thereâs more depth when itâs really just an accessory. But here, it finally has purpose, woven into the story in a way that elevates the narrative.
In the end, Iâm just really happy. I thoroughly enjoyed the ride without skipping scenes, which is reason enough for me to give it a high rating.
Also⌠Zhang Wan Yi, please go back to Hengdian!!!!!!

sweet and slow
Ok. Its the same old story but told well. great visuals and sweet young actors. My only beef is the writer who hadAkira tramatized by someone in middle school saying your gay and gross. Come on. Gay, straight, female or male middles school is traumatic but we grow up and hide it or move on.
To make it the central core of this boy's inability to love or even engage? Get a spine or find your penis.

The story lost me. The leads refused to.
Love Beyond the Grave and I had a complicated relationship from the start. I absolutely love the xianxia genre and its spirit worlds. But this one wraps itself in a Halloween vibe that never quite lets up, and that is a different thing entirely, not my natural habitat. I kept watching anyway, mostly out of stubbornness, partly because Dilraba and Arthur Chen were doing things on screen that made dropping it feel like a personal loss.So I stayed. Not because the story earned it, but because they did.
For roughly twenty-nine episodes I was a hostage. A comfortable one, granted, because the costumes alone justify the watch and the OST is the kind of haunting that follows you into your week. But emotionally? The doom was suffocating, the angst relentless, and I spent most of it wondering how I got there.
Then episode thirty happened. He Si Mu finally lets him in, and suddenly twenty-nine episodes of patience made sense. The romance, when it arrives, is beautiful and heartbreaking in equal measure. It does not fix the ending, which is exactly as doomed as it promised to be from the start. But it made me feel something I had been waiting for since episode one.
The costume team, by the way, did not come to play Whoever designed those outfits was on a mission and clearly had no intention of being stopped. Neither did the leads. Everything else? That is between me and my complicated feelings.
7/10. The story was not for me. I finished it anyway.

stuck in self proof
Before commenting on my review, I should note that I watched Kill Boksoon first, so I was already familiar with the world this show created. Since Mantis is a sequel/spin-off, it wasnât difficult for me to get into the story. Kill Boksoon mainly focused on the life of assassins â their training, missions, and how they deal with the aftermath of killing. Itâs the type of story that requires audiences to be emotionally prepared for dark and intense themes. Because Kill Boksoon focused heavily on action and fight scenes, I was curious about what direction Mantis would take. After finishing it, I think it makes sense that the show focused more on the emotional side of being a killer rather than only the action. The story explores the charactersâ emotional struggles and insecurities, which I know some audiences may find difficult to connect with. Personally, though, I really liked this aspect because it allowed me to understand the complexity of the charactersâ inner feelings instead of only seeing their surface-level motivations and performances.
One of the most interesting parts of the story is how Dok Go projects his own emotional insecurity onto Jae Yi. This becomes the main reason Jae Yi traps herself in the mindset that she will never be as good as Mantis. What makes this even more tragic is that this belief is not originally Dok Goâs own idea â it comes from MK. Dok Go admires MK so much that he accepts his opinion without questioning it. Because he sees similarities between himself and Jae Yi, he ends up passing that insecurity onto her as well.
Even though Jae Yi clearly defeated Mantis during their match, the seniors still believed she would lose if they used real blades. They underestimated her ability and made assumptions without giving her a fair chance. Dok Go later repeats the same behavior. Even when Jae Yi requests a real blade fight, he refuses because he has already convinced himself of the outcome. The sad part is that Jae Yi would rather accept an honest defeat than live with people assuming she would lose. This becomes the reason she constantly feels the need to prove herself until she finally kills Dok Go.
Mantis also suffers emotionally. He feels guilty for being chosen while Jae Yi was rejected, even though she won. He never truly understands why the seniors made that decision. Because of this guilt, he spends his life trying to protect and support her, often holding himself back because he is afraid of hurting her feelings. Ironically, this is not what Jae Yi actually wants. If Mantis had defeated her fairly, she probably would have accepted the result and worked harder to improve openly instead of becoming trapped in a cycle of proving herself.
In the end, both Mantis and Jae Yi are victims of the emotional pressure created by the older generation. Jae Yi desperately wants to prove she deserved to be chosen, while Mantis keeps trying to support her in ways that unintentionally make her pain worse. This emotional complexity is what made the show so appealing to me.
That said, I still wish the series had given Jae Yi and Mantis more memorable fight scenes because their emotional conflict was strong enough to deserve even bigger action moments.
