Love upon a time is a must watch series

It's a really enjoyable show
It gives realistic view or reaction of the character being transmigrated to the past
Beautiful cinematography, wonderful clothes or costumes, nice pacing so far good acting. Sad it's not done airing but it's also exciting waiting for new EP. Love how it's pays attention to details.

ITS A 10/10 AND ITS NOT EVEN COMPLETE YET

1000000/10 series. I love Love Upon a Time!! As of April 5th there’s only 2 episode and it’s genuinely sooo good. It’s building up to the greatest angst story ever. And NetJJ and LatteKim are phenomenal!!!

You’ve never seen such a relatable main character. How would you react if you got sent to the past— 400 years!! You’d probably freak out, maybe be in denial or even believe ending it would send you back home. So did Nakhun HAHA!! He’s relatable freak out to suddenly being in the past was the funniest thing ever. I loved seeing it because that’s how I’d react

irritatedly annoying drama

First i would like to start off, I do not hate any of the actors or actress they acted the way they were supposed to when given the script and direction from the director. What I hate about this drama is the fact that the creators were trying to do a love triangle when it was not necessary. The love triangle between
ML - Kong Ji Hyeok(Jang Ki Yong), FL - Ko Da Rim(Ahn Eun Jin) and the childhood best friend - Kim Seon U(Kim Mu Jun). This was not necessary. We already know who FL liked. The creators should have just paired up Kim Seon U(Kim Mu Jun) and Yoo Ha Yeong(Woo Da Vi), but nope, they didn't even let them be together in the end. It was left vague, stuck between just a friend or maybe a girlfriend. Just a genuine question, is it so wrong for a single parent to have romance? Why even bring Kim Seon U(Kim Mu Jun) and Yoo Ha Yeong(Woo Da Vi) together if we are never gonna get a happy ending for these two? I also felt that the ML sister - Kong Ji Hye (Jung Ga Hee), had room for improvement I 100% felt she could have gotten a character growth which was much needed. Kong Ji Hye's character was much more complex than any of the main characters. Her story seems far better, but it ended with her leaving the trash father. With all honesty, the creators were trying to slap the tragedy tag on the Main characters when in reality their tragedy was just a child's joke. Honestly felt like a kid made this script. Yes, this drama is 100% overloaded with cliches. This drama could have been more than just some cliche drama, but the creators decided to make it overdramatic and overloaded with cliche plots. This drama was a major letdown for me. I will say this again, I do not hate the actor/actress, they did their job, they were supposed to do. It's the creators that I hated.

Whoa

First drama I fell into that wasn't a full romantic story. I have to say the ML was arrogant, obsessive, an overall a hole at times with the FL. I hated that he did not have any personal growth. But then, this is very realistic, this is how it is in real life. The FL was great but she also had her flaws so many misunderstandings that could have been resolved by just speaking up when needed and explaining to the ML her thoughts, he gave her many chances too. I didn't like her ending it was depressing but again this was more realistic. overall the story and actors were great. the Supporting Male was also an a hole completely, he should have been punished more severely. And let's not talk about the Grandfather king smh what a character. I give this drama a high rating because besides it not being what I thought it was good, everyone's acting was on point. it keeps you going despite the frustration, had me in tears towards the end.

slice of life

Overall: I really wanted to like this slice of life, but it never hooked me. Based on the book "Love and Punishment by the Unnamed Lake" by Ni Lv Zhu Ren which I haven't read and am reviewing the series on its own merits. 8 episodes about 40 minutes each. Aired on Viki https://www.viki.com/videos/1270086v ; GagaOOLala https://www.gagaoolala.com/en/videos/6540/feel-what-you-feel-2026 (not available in: Japan, Korea, Americas, Europe, Oceania, India or Middle East) & Heavenly (South Korea)

Content Warnings: bullying, non con/dub con kiss, attempted murder, blood, non con kiss likely turned consensual

What I Liked
- the premise
- slice of life vibe
- second couple

Room For Improvement
- the voice over start and more voice over later
- the main couple pacing was too slow and then rushed in the finale with a few minute montage
- knowing this is set in 2001 and the location, it pulled me out of the series that there were 2 queer couples (even though I enjoyed the 2nd couple)
- odd ending for the second couple
- the finale went soap opera (can skip episode 8 2:40-13:30 to skip past it)
- snooping in the diary wasn't romantic

If I'm going to like it..

Had to drop the series. The ones I watched up to 4 episodes I thought harrowing. I wanted to get in my mobile phone and pull that bloke off
the 2nd ML. He was like a sex fiend. That wasn't love it was rape. He manipulated him into accepting him either that or he was enjoying it. No didn't like the series where it was going.Who in their right mind would have
put up with that kind of behavior.. Surprisingly
he did..

Power of love

Ultimately it’s a drama about healing not being linear. I didn’t like the AI art at all and found the use of it, didn’t help the drama at all but outside of that there were many good things. The acting was great and I love that there wasn’t a villain. This drama was really about each of our characters who just wanted to keep going even when everything felt against them. I loved each character for a different reason and therefore rooted for them all.

I did feel that the last minute reunification was a bit unsatisfying to Chan’s arc bc he constantly ran away in the past (not that I really blame him tbh he went through hell) but I would’ve LOVED for him to hear that from SuJin and still stuck by Ha Ran’s side because he promised he’d never leave her no matter what but we got a happy ending so I’m satisfied.

I also really enjoyed the Grandma getting her own romance, it was very sweet and I would’ve loved to see her in a wedding dress but sometimes it seems dramas are scared of hot actresses above the age of 40.

Solid drama and I don’t regret watching. Here’s hoping that future dramas put the AI down though bc there’s so many incredible artists in Korea and they would’ve made a better Ha Ran drawing haha.

A Must-Watch Masterpiece

Luat by NetJJ is a beautifully crafted series that goes beyond a simple love story. It combines time travel, history, and deep emotional storytelling to create a truly engaging experience. The plot is rich and keeps you curious, while the characters feel real and relatable. The chemistry between the leads is strong, making every scene more impactful and believable. What stands out most is how the series balances romance with suspense and meaningful life lessons. It’s the kind of show that draws you in and stays on your mind even after watching. Luat is definitely worth your time.

First Impression: Flavor of Us

Overall: I'm giving this the benefit of the doubt. 10 episodes about 15 minutes each. Based on a book that I haven't read. Airing on YZilla YouTube channel https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLrUrqarD5ftEOhN_S4OjArc7HiwqiM3XT

Content Warning: slap

What I Liked
- a trans woman character who is not a stereotype
- visuals

Room For Improvement
- do not think they have time to have multiple couples and they bounce from one to the other without a connection between them

A perfect drama of imperfect people

Wow just wow!!! I didn't expect this to be such a great drama. To My Shore is definitely the best I watched in 2026 so far. I don't think I'd watch another great one like this in this year either. Last year it was the Kbl "Secret Relationship". I got reminded of Shin Jaemin through Fan Xiao at some points(if you know). A toxic and a manipulative guy. But Fan Xiao is different because he started truly loving Shulang later. And thank god this has a happy ending!

Fan Xiao is a complicated guy, he's been raised in a bad environment, which made him a bad, manipulative person. He's like his second brother, as he mentioned it himself. But he has a good and kind side of him because his mom was like that. His mom's death has affected him so much to the point he can't control himself and all the sufferings. He's pitiful, lonely and believes everyone is bad in the world and the world itself is bad. Shulang was the only person after his mom who was truly a good person towards him, which he couldn't accept in an instant because everyone around him are too bad and corruptive. He did so many wrongdoings to Shulang but that's to keep Shulang by his side and to keep him only to Fan Xiao. The thought of having an obsession over the only person who was good to you and keeping him by your side is acceptable. But the methods he used to keep him are definitely not acceptable. But he didn't know any other ways either.

However, no matter how bad Fan Xiao's character is, I couldn't make myself hate him. Personally, the only thing I couldn't accept 100% was the time he molested You Shulang. It should never have happened, no matter the reason. But it happened anyways and can't be undone, so I had to accept it. Aren't there also such things in real life that we can't avoid, no matter how much we don't want them to happen?

By the way, I like Yun Qi's visuals so much that I can't forget him for for a long time. He's really handsome, which was also one of the reasons I couldn't hate him for his actions (Yeah, I admit it's totally biased). Look at his acting, his facial expressions. His face is very expressive.

It was a bit tiring to watch Shulang resisting and avoiding Fan Xiao for a long time. Actually it's understandable after all the mess happened in his life. It was actually my problem that I couldn't wait till they got back together. Fan Xiao did a lot of good things for Shulang to atone his past wrongdoings and to show his love secretly and openly also. It makes him such a perfect lover. I want a scene of Fan Xiao with their kid, it's a pity they didn't give us that. But I'm happy with the ending. I cried a lot in the end.

I'm really really glad for watching this in 2 days this year. I don't think I'd enjoy the drama this much if I watched it while ongoing. I found the perfect drama to watch at the perfect time. I'm grateful such a story even exists. Su Er Liang is a great writer. I'm thankful to all the actors, production team and everyone who helped to create this masterpiece. I'm going to read the original novel sometime.

P.S.: Yun Qi PLEASE FIND MORE ROLES to act, don't stop acting I wanna see you more!

pretty good special episodes

Overall: two short (11 and 14 minute) episodes that later aired on GagaOOLala as a continuation of their story

What I Liked
- sweet moments
- them talking in episode 2
- Watarai didn't answer the question about a girlfriend in episode 2
- colors in episode 2 (blue and orange)

Room For Improvement
- Watarai came across as a bit pushy/creepy with locking the door and ignoring the ask to wait (ignored in the second episode as well)
- unmatched kissing in the first special

Strong romance with the best chemistry

Doona shows us an acquaintance to friends to lovers story that is beautiful. The main leads could not be more different in some ways and then similar in others. I really enjoyed the quirky side characters as a nice compliment to the main case. I personally find this to be my favorite time watching Bae Suzy. The leads chemistry was top tier. Love the directing and cinematography.

Honestly I was put off watching this for years thinking it would melo but it was a fun watch.

A cute story. Nothing spectacular

I really liked the character of Soon Duk's mother-in-law. Assertive and incredibly smart. She could have done things in a better way but it doesn't change how intelligent she is.
The movie was slow a bit. But there were no plot confusions, so it was an easy flow.

All the couples had a great storyline that could have been explored, i guess they didn’t want to get into the minor plots proper.

better than the series

Overall: the original series was about 200 minutes. They cut stuff out and this is 96 minutes. If I had edited it, I would have made a few changes and given it an 8 but their edited movie version I'm giving 7.5 https://www.gagaoolala.com/en/videos/6179/sweetheart-service-the-movie-2025
Here is my original review, most of which is still true https://mydramalist.com/profile/blcompilations/review/453724

Content Warnings: coercion, punch, stalking mentioned

What I Liked
- they cut out the bloated/slow plot and made it focus more on the MLs which was good

Room For Improvement
- they should have cut even more of the brother being oddly possessive
- they cut out the scene of them getting the key chains, but then showed them several times
- if they had had any footage of scenes with the side couple flirting, they should have included them and tried to develop that relationship more (didn't take off points for this though)
