loved it!

the acting was fantastic between the lead characters. the OST music disc 2 is lovely. best drama I've seen yet w switching bodies. the villain was very instance and exhausting at some point how one person can have so many connections but sometimes that's just how it is in real life too. all characters were great. I get this was a magic fantasy drama but I think it could have gone without the last switching of their bodies. the villain never realized his mistakes either, idk overall I liked it very much I will say the first 5 episodes are the best

Something new but still amazing

I really loved this drama and l hope yall give it a chance . From the acting to the story everything was captivating and good. And no character was truly 100 bad among the antagonists. Very complex characters molded by the circumstances in their lives. Good show. šŸ‘ From the first the first episode of the storyline captivates you and captures your attention at first it seems like the same cliche Troop that we always see but I loved how they flipped the script over and he was marrying into a family instead of her family and and everything left the relationship Dynamic and how he never intentionally hurt her or physically assaulted her in anyway. And the breakup only last for a very short time and they don't overdo it I was also very interested by the second couple with the obsessed Prince and the former maid who was now like the manager and running her business. It really was such a complicated relationship where he knew that he deeply loved her but he did not know how to express love in a healthy way so for her his love was like torture but for him her love was everything and part of his reason to live anyways I don't want to say too many spoilers great show .go watch it

F the patriarchy!

Glory is an uplifting cdrama that combines romance, ambition, and personal growth into a story that feels both inspiring and emotionally grounded. Led by compelling performances from Gulinazha and Hou Minghao, the series explores how resilience, identity and family dynamics shape the paths people choose in life.

One of the cdrama’s most compelling aspects is its exploration of perseverance and self-discovery. The characters face numerous obstacles, yet the story consistently emphasizes that setbacks can become turning points. Through determination and courage, they learn to redefine success on their own terms.

It also thoughtfully examines patriarchal expectations within society. Several characters must navigate pressures rooted in tradition, particularly the expectations placed on women regarding career, family, and personal choices. Rather than presenting these pressures in a purely negative light, the narrative uses them to highlight how individuals challenge outdated norms and carve out their own independence.

In contrast, Glory introduces the idea of a matriarchal family structure, where female figures hold significant authority and influence within the household. This dynamic adds an interesting layer to the story, showing how power and responsibility can exist in different forms within family life. It reinforces the importance of wisdom, generational guidance, and the strength that women bring to both family and society.

Alongside these themes, the relationship between the leads is built on mutual respect and encouragement, portraying love not as a distraction from personal ambition but as a partnership that helps both individuals grow.

With its thoughtful storytelling and heartfelt performances, Glory ultimately delivers a meaningful message: true achievement is not just about external success, but about courage, integrity, and the willingness to challenge expectations while staying true to oneself.

Messy reality

If Only You Weren’t the One is a short yet emotionally gripping romance that explores the complicated pull of past relationships. The story follows a woman whose life is disrupted when a former forbidden lover reappears, forcing her to confront unresolved feelings and difficult choices.

What makes the drama engaging is its mature approach to romance. Instead of idealizing love, it focuses on messy emotions, temptation, and the lingering impact of past decisions. The performances feel natural and intimate, which helps the emotional tension land despite the series’ short runtime.

Overall, it’s a quick but compelling watch. Perfect for viewers who enjoy romantic stories that are a little more bittersweet and realistic than the typical love drama.

Living my Zhu Yu era

There's so much attention to detail in this cdrama.
Did you notice the Pursuit Of Jade logo has a hidden pig and butcher knife as strokes in its original Chinese design?

I was already a fan of Director Zeng Qing Jie and screenwriter Zou Rue, whom were responsible for Blossom and Love like the Galaxy, respectively, in the past. I have also being following the career of the lead actress, Tian Xiwei, so I was always going to watch the cdrama and most likely enjoy it. But what I found was so much more than what I expected.

I’m genuinely impressed by Pursuit of Jade. This cdrama is a beautiful example of what happens when every creative element works in harmony.

First, the script is incredibly well crafted. The storytelling feels thoughtful and layered, balancing emotional depth with engaging plot development. Every episode reveals something meaningful about the characters, and the dialogue feels natural and purposeful rather than forced.

The cinematography is another standout. Each scene is framed with care, using lighting, composition, and color to create an atmosphere that enhances the story and characters' actions. Whether it’s sweeping landscape shots or quiet, intimate moments between characters, the visuals consistently elevate the drama and make it feel cinematic.

The direction deserves a lot of praise. The pacing is confident, allowing emotional scenes to breathe while still keeping the narrative moving forward. The director clearly understands how to build tension, highlight character relationships, and guide the audience through the story in a way that feels immersive and satisfying. Yes, by the end, there's a couple of weak points but ultimately they feel irrelevant when you take a step back and see the entire picture that was presented.

And of course, the entire cast delivers fantastic performances. Every actor brings sincerity and depth to their role, making the characters feel authentic and relatable. The chemistry between the cast members is especially strong, which makes the emotional moments land even harder.

Tian Xiwei carried this story with ease, warmth and power. I knew she had it in her and I am so glad this particular project, this team, gave her the chance to shine like the absolute badass she is. From being a small town girl to a soldier defeating seasoned generals with a butcher knife, and finally a first rank official, her journey was incredible to witness. The character of Changyu was the beating heart bringing everything she touched alive.

Zhang Linghe is growing as an actor with each new performance and I feel he did a really good job portraying the dualities and nuances of a character like Zheng. From aloof and cold, he slowly peeled each layer to show his true heart. Which was full of love for Changyu, his friends and even his very complex family. Through everything Zheng was steadfast, an agent of chaos and order.

Tian and Zhang had great chemistry through the entire run of the cdrama and delivered one of the best romances I have seen in a while. Their characters complemented and see each other for whom they are. Zheng was always proud of Changyu, whatever she was a butcher girl or a mighty general, and in return she was always a source of support for him. If they had fights, they would openly communicate with each other and grow from those experiences, so they could be a better and even stronger team. They always had a tacit understanding of who they were as a couple and it made their love unconditional and true.

I must comment on screenwriter Zou Ye, once again, on this point. Particularly because all the characters were properly developed, not just the leads. This script is so tight, by the end of the cdrama, you understand everyone's motivations, desires and fears. Every character had their time in the spotlight, no matter how small their role, and it eventually lead to a bigger effect in the story, culminating into all the key players meeting in the same place to finally reveal harsh truths, find justice and peace.

The enemies are fascinating and nuanced. Life for many of these characters was like war and they behaved as if they were fighting a great evil trying to destroy their loved ones. Ultimately, all they did was destroy themselves. And the way the Director Zeng and screenwriter Zou present this point, with visual storytelling and dialogue, it's truly beautiful because you can see and understand the parallels between heroes and the so-called villains. All of these details, makes Zhu Yu my early call as the best drama of 2026.

Overall, Pursuit of Jade is a beautifully made cdrama with strong writing, stunning visuals, thoughtful direction, and a talented cast that truly brings the story to life. Definitely worth watching.

When the main story idea gets lost during the script’s journey.

This is more like a soap opera than a series. I started to really enjoy this for the first few episodes, but it became tedious after the 4th episode. The main reason is the episodes became unnecessarily long due to a lot of wasted screentime. The script had some great section that were unfortunately mixed in with sections that are very boring. This had a great story concept that got lost along the script progress because they introduced way too many storylines. The script was successful in connecting most of the storylines and characters together in the end. However, there were a few storylines and characters that just disappeared with no outcome to them. Although they introduced very predictable conflict scenarios, I like that they did not have predictable outcome. This has some very questionable director choices with unnecessary sound effects and odd background music choices in the earlier episodes. This created a very odd mix of comedy and drama in the first few episodes. On a more positive note, the entire cast was incredible. This also had breathtaking cinematography.

Random Note:

I started to fast forward the scenes with Tai Tian Yu and Wu Bo Sen because I didn’t find their storyline interesting.

I was able to guess the mystery of Tai Tian Qing’s mother the moment they introduced the character.

I started to find Tai Tian Qing very annoying towards the end.

I don’t regret watching this, but don’t see myself ever wanting to rewatch it.

Thought this had a great historycal plot and war scene, but i was wrong, its all about romance

1. Story
First half this was really good, undoubtedly, setting it world really good, expecting us something big would really happen later in the episode with hinted plot. But how disappointed i am, it just recycling it scene focusing on cinematic romance scene, turned a good story into a goofy one because they want a female protagonist to look so amazing and forcing it too much.

Despite the story make us believe how amazing the Marquez were, instead of doing so it only glorifying everything, even some little feat the FL do, it's fine but too much in here, even making other important character epic scene skipped.

A lot of inconsistency story wise, FL weapon is dual short sword but always hinted in the story she was trained with spear art, doesn't deliver.

The FL second couple is always hinted as time traveler but noting added to story at all, weird, feels like so random.
Underwhelming fighting art but amazing cinematic wise

Rushed ending that packing the leftover story into that last episode.

2. Acting/Cast
Top tier and amazing, every character act, especially every main, awesome.

3. Music
From start to finish got a great taste of it, amazing Ost, Background sound that fitting the portrayed scene.

4. Rewatch Value
Its good rewatch value because it's so light on the plot but heavy on romance, enjoyable if you are looking into that.

5. Conclusion
A great beginning, and after all that hype an underwhelming ending.

We are all mad here !

The basic plot line is about a guy with a serious damsell in distress syndrom and his pimp daddy.

Damsell in distress and pimp daddy can probably be a scenario, even though it's rarely an interesting one and this drama is just one more of those. But that's not the main issue.

Most of the characters are non logical. Saved for Jeanine, The Autie Jeed
Also Thada who wants Armin's as... actor skill in bed~~ so it makes sens that he puts through the guy's wired and unrestrain claims that he came back from the future into his past. Put through the guy perpetual tantrums. Put through the fact the guy is bad luck everywhere he goes. I've seen people run away for less than the quarter of the quarter of that.

Which lead us to Armin. The character is annoying and non logical at all. FIrst, it's the base of the drama itself, he has a life falling apart, he was killed and he wakes up 20 years before all the mess with a chance to start everything again ... for the good third of the drama he just complains. No one, if given a second chance in life to start back in his twenties with the knowledge of a 40 year old would be upset about that. Then, he keeps getting angry at everyone for things he knows that the other characters can't be aware of. And not being cold and moody towards them but screaming and making scenes every episode (or twice per episode) . At first, as said, he is a very unknown actor so ... usually you play it cool when you start at the lowest of a job but nope, he just screams at everyone on set. But apparently that's not an issue (mostly because Pimp Daddy has his back)

But he's not the one and only. Lily manager is another crazy tantrum queen. prepare your ears.

ANd then multiple actors who try to achieve fame by ... killing other actors (Armin ... which is understable since the guy keeps on screaming at everyone) but ... dude, if you're behind bars you will hardly become an actor who gets to star in movies. Because they're never discreet about their attempt of murders.

There is so much more. This drama is a catastrophe.

This is a light office drama. It's very cheesy and with some cute animation in between the story. If I start with what I didn't like first, then it's over rather quickly since they could've talked for 5 min and all the misunderstandings they have would be understood. And that I don't like. But it's quite common to draw out shows with this, and it's a personal preference. Now, to what I really liked about the drama, I am a sucker for tropes such as enemies to lovers, rich male lead, independent female lead. It's a cliche and a classic trope for a reason, it just works out well. This is a great mix of all of them btw.
Here it works really well Donghae makes the character Mark Wang feel alive and embodies the "I feel in love with you ages ago, and I can't let go of my feelings for you" so great. He made the drama feel like the misunderstandings between the ML and FL would all be solved rather quickly rather than drawn out for forever. Its pacing is also nice it's a breather for what I have been watching lately.
I know this won't be for everyone, it's a cliche romcom with maybe not the best plotpoints but I really enjoyed it.

What's Shining?

Such a tiring script.

ML should just move on and give that other girl a chance who's been crushing on him since high school.
Putting a name tag of her name in his backpack for support was really sweet. Letting him know she's there thinking of him. It's not a big deal, but if she can do that little thing without even dating ML.... what about FL who got with him two times?

FL is impossible. Dates ML, but then later drops him because she wants to work far away.
She likes her job. Nice!
But not trying anymore with her boyfriend because their schedules doesn't match so lets break up.
Gets back with him years later because she wasn't happy with the new life she left him for was dumb.

Also irritated with ML behavior for taking the time to take care of her feelings again when she doesn't have the time for his.

& why is she still being around her ex?
He's there always telling her what to do and she just let him.

ML had a girlfriend his friend said so, but where is she?
He doesn't keep talking and drinking with her does he?

When can they write a ML forgetting his first love and moving on? He will be 70 and still waiting for FL to return.

Favorite trope: enemies to lovers

One of my favorite tropes is enemies to lovers, and this series was able to do this really well. I enjoyed this series a lot. It provided great chemistry with the leads, beautiful visuals, fast-paced storytelling, and good action scenes. There was no boring or unnecessary arcs, plot and subplots were all fleshed out and told in an exciting and interesting manner. Character arcs were also delivered well, kudos to the cast! It is an easy watch as it is engaging and makes you invested in the characters and their stories. Highly recommend!

cute... but not thrilling.

plot: our FL is real life Pikachu. when her heartbeat reaches its peak she is able to "electrocute" people which then fall in love with the first person they see .
her best friend has her eyes on the school hunk and asks Pikachu to electrocute this guy for her but things turn out quite differently..

the dramašŸ—ÆļøšŸ—Æļø
this is a classic school drama. we have cute and bubbly characters, school related activities and of course love entanglements.

I cannot say this is a bad drama but its not stellar. there is nothing particular about it except the FL superpower which sets everything in motion but is quite influencial when it comes to to plot. it s just a plot device to initially get closer the main leads.

characters are likable and behave realistically even though the resemble more high schoolers than college students.

I didn't dislike this drama but at episode 11 I realized there wasn't anything keeping me engaged especially thinking about the fact that I wasn't even half way through. 24 episodes look a bit much for such a simple drama and I personally don't feel that invested to keep watching for so long.

it's a light hearted drama good for times when you don't want to think too much and just watch cute predictable stuff.

characters: nothing much too say about them. considering the fact that this is a "simple " drama they are not characterised that much. just enough to get a jist of their personality.

FL is fine. her personality is a bit bland but that's always the case with "self inserted " dramas.
the only real complaint I have is for her hair and dresses. they did her dirty. she is dressed like a nun and her hair are a mess. why.. why do chinese dramas always mess their FL hair?

ml: he is cute. I remember him from "love between demon and fairy" and it was fun to see him as a young puppy.
his character is fine but I have to complain when it comes to certain behaviors. I hate when ml shovel the FL around like a doll even hurting them because "they are jealous". there is nothing romantic about a guy sticking you to a wall against your will. let's stop that ok?

conclusions:šŸ—ÆļøšŸ—Æļø
if you are looking for something exciting that makes your heart race definitely skip this.

If you like cute, predictable dramas in a school setting this might be in your alley.

Can I join the whatplu gang?

OMG!
This show has been on my watchlist for so many years now, maybe even when it got released, and I just finished it.

The storyline is one of those that I usually do not really like. I am not a fan of gangs/bully to lover type of storyline but the way this plot was navigated was actually very smart. It didn’t feel like they were horrible people (even through they kind of were tbh) and the frivolousness of it all made it much easier to digest and like the characters.

My complaint is that Thi should learn to stand up for himself omfg…

BUT THAT ENDING WAS EXACTLY WHAT WAS NEEDED. The cheesiness was set to the max and god did I enjoy it. Thi having Noeys heart this whole time was adorable. This will definitely end up being one of my comfort bls.

I volunteer for the next season!!!!

EarthMix give me butterflies like nobody else! Even when their characters are super toxic, it just adds an extra pinch of excitement. Honestly, kill me now! I’ve been so deeply attached to them since 2022 that I’m convinced I’d watch them even if they were cast as dogs, I’m that loyal.

I’m obsessed with the fact that they are finally getting more explicit roles. (Don’t worry, I still miss PhuphaTian, they will always be iconic and my favorites!) To be honest, after Only Friends, I wasn’t entirely sure about starting Only Friends: Dream On but you simply cannot escape EarthMix

I’m also impatiently waiting for Raffy to calm down because I need to see AouBoom passion on my screen immediately!

To finish this is my first series with JossGawin, and I have to say, they are such a cute and sexy pairing infact Another reason I hesitated to start this was because I knew I’d get attached to them too and now I'm terrified! If the curse of LOL ends up being real again this year, I might actually die. They were the only pair I hadn't formed an emotional bond with yet, and now I'm fully invested. 😭

A hot mess

Less is more and this series failed to understand this . The first few episodes were great but then it went downhill. Too many storylines going on with little time and so poor execution. The writer wanted to do so much that they ended up doing nothing right .
The last episode was painful to watch . It was as if the writer wanted to add every single cliche known to man .
This series had such great potential but ended up falling flat .
I don’t want to go into details to avoid dropping spoilers but I’ll unfortunately have to rate it a 4/10 .
It’s okay to simplify storylines and if you want something to be complicated, you either pace it better or increase the episodes.
Would I recommend this series to someone else ? No I won’t .
Do I hate it ? No I don’t .
I’m just disappointed
