The Chaser (2012) – I just watched this drama by 2016 and I think it’s good. Not totally impressing at first but all the actors in the drama did great. This drama seems unrealistic to a person like me (who is not a lawyer and neither a politician). This drama portrayed a different angle of the society for me, and I find it scary. I liked it that I watch this by 2016 so the drama is already completed, I watched it for 2-3 days and didn’t watch any other dramas in between which I usually do with other dramas, I watched it continuously because I am afraid that I will forget the names of the people in the drama. This drama, I cried alongside Baek Hongseok but I also cried with Kang Dongyoon. One thing I learned from this drama is that greed is scary and gets you lonely.

Fashion King (2012) - this truly has a lot of potential for me, especially at the start. The characters are quite different comparing to the other dramas I have watched and seeing Yuri’s very first drama is also a plus. What makes this drama interesting for me at the start is that both leads are struggling, no "chaebol" or rich between them, which is typical in other dramas. Also, the male main lead Young Gul played by Yoo Ah In is so different, I can't understand his attitude and the leads are not the usual nice with a good personality leads. Both male leads are really great in their respective roles, the acting is great. The female leads I don't have anything against, it terms of acting. The drama just didn’t turn out great, and the ending sucks, I mean, what happened? I find the drama stressful in the long run, the sense of the drama became lost especially on the fashion aspect which was suppose to be what I expected because of the title. I was just sad since the acting is there, I hope they tried to fix the story or writing. Not recommended.

In 2015, Taiwan passed an amendment to the law that foreigners infected with HIV and living in Taiwan will no longer be deported out of the country.
The plot of the film takes place in 2013, two years before this novel. Jim lives with Mike, who is from Malaysia, and subsequently everyone probably already knows what will happen.
Where the Taiwanese keep getting new and new actors .... very well acted, believable, natural, as if the two really lived together, only these two characters appear in the film ... and the ending (!)

Rooftop Prince (2012) - should have been one of my fave dramas but I already know the ending so the excitement was not there anymore while watching the drama. The first part of the dramas made me laugh, I still remember funny scenes from this drama, and I had fun for sure. Historical dramas really do tend to get serious, and I must say this drama hurts. The villains in the drama are really a good pick since I felt rage to them. The story itself is well written for me, at the same time I liked the suspense parts that I keep thinking who the culprit really is but sadly they did not give a back story to the side characters to at least justify why they are in the drama. Not on my favorite list but one of the best dramas for me at that time. It's worth watching.

Choco Bank (2016) - I love Eun Bin as an actress and has so much respect for her but this drama is not it. The drama is really too short for it to have a proper and well written, good pacing story. It's just a light and sweet drama with imperfections.

Kai, on the other hand should stick to being an idol or do more acting workshops, because I'm sorry I just can't stand his acting. I mean he really needs more push for him to actually act.

I can't remember the music in this drama. I would not rewatch this one even if it is short.

The very beginning was fresh and nice, a few minutes into the opening credits, it would have been a good short ("Did you forget something? Yes. You!"). Overall, I agree that this part got rid of Pinoy deposits, did not branch out and lacked dismembering trances, but that was perhaps to be expected from this director (he also directed the successful Gameboys). Everything came very close to the western format. Acting very solid, believable. However, I had a little problem with the character of Tina, from whom the script made a hysterical, sometimes even a moronic psychopath, and the film's "means", for example in the constant smoking with a shaking hand, were very transparent to me. That's why I reduced one point for the story, originally I wanted to give a pure nine. I also appreciate very tasteful soft erotica, when nothing was "shown" anywhere and the characters were not "getting along" somewhere by the wall through jeans or up to the navel through a sweatshirt, etc., and there are also dirty words, so I rather do not recommend it to some gentle ladies here??

Hned začátek byl svěží a hezký, několik minut do zahajovacích titulků, z toho by byl dobrý kraťas ("Zapomněl jsi něco? Ano. Tebe!").

twinkling watermelon ー twinkled within us ?

honestly from a pov who just recently finished it ー away from the craze when it aired (tho i wanted to watch it live so bad but cannot for personal reasons) i appreciate the stillness and the quiet while watching it and processing it on my own.

the story is full of realistic issues ー from domestic ones to the story of youth and the hierarchy or status. it connects each on of us who has the same struggle as the main characters ー sometimes we want to just close our eyes wishing that if we open it, we are all just in a twisted dream but unfortunately everything happening around us is real which we can relate to what eungyeol's present looks like. he did not avoid his dad's accident whatever methods he tried but because he gave up giving up, and because of his persistence and perseverance he did change a lot of things.

the takeaway we can get here is that change is never out of reach if we keep on trying and striving to do what's good, what's just, what's pure, what's kind, and what's right.

So much room for improvement.

I started watching with such high expectations because of the casts but then… the production team could’ve done better. ?‍??‍?

It has been awhile since I felt highly annoyed by a female lead in a drama. One time she was flirty and then the other time she seemed to have lost herself. For a character who was in her 20s, she was a little bit too childish when it comes to her relationship. After just a few episodes, I genuinely wished for the male lead to end up with someone else. ?‍?

Chicago Typewriter (2017) - "To protect the love I couldn't protect in my past life. To meet again in a liberated homeland and love freely."
I could totally relate to other viewers and reviewers of this drama. It has that nostalgic feeling into it. The story about past life is presented beautifully and the characters are really well written. The cinematography is one of a kind, one of the best so far. Other dramas would really have to step up since this become a standard. It really is at the high level, and it can't be compared. It is a whole new genre of historical. It will always stay in the hearts of those who have watched this. Beautiful. Worth it.

Cheongdamdong Alice (2012) - I am so liking this drama. It was so romantically uplifting me and it is on top of my watched korean dramas list. At the time when I was watching this, I still have questions regarding the story because I don’t know much about Korean culture and stories in their country but I was really hooked with the drama. I really like the romance and comedy of the drama and I like each of the characters. This drama is a portrayal of like modern day Alice in Wonderland, Daddy Long Legs and Cinderella in one. I have grown my childhood with this stories and I think this is the reason why I liked this drama. Although “chaebol” is still apparent here, I liked that they portrayed it in a fun way even though there is a revenge part. I also like Park Si Hoo’s character development here, he is so cute! This drama is one of the dramas that I really like over the years.

Most Disappointing Watch of 2023

There is no myths here; that went extent along with the dinosaurs. Instead, it is a jumbled incoherent mess of disorganized shifts of scenes packed with individuals for the most part that are astonishingly unlikable, dumb as a box of rocks, naïve, and caricatures. Some are decidedly despicable creatures as well.

The whole universe of this story centers around one of the densest characters I have ever seen. Not only is he naïve and remains so throughout, but he is also the biggest milqutoast and nebbish individual ever in any BL. It was exacerbating to watch him not be able to fend for himself in any meaningful way, with conviction and simply ‘forgive’ people for astonishing bad transgressions against him without making it very clear how he really felt or where he stood. He gives a new definition to the term wimp. I am talking about, of course, the apple of so many guys’ eye for whom I simply could not figure out why. Rak (Kong Montree) who consistently walks around looking lost and functioning in a dream world of his own making. To say he is naïve is to be kind to him. It goes deeper than that. It is as if he wears a sign on himself that says, “Yes, I am really this clueless and as dumb as I look. So go ahead and use me. I really won’t figure it out but oh when I do, I will simply forgive you and move on. Thanks.” For example, his boyfriend had been cheating on him for a while with his own best friend. His passive acceptance of this along with his wounded look made it appear as if it was his cross to bear, and he wore it almost like a badge of honor. When he finally breaks up with him, he allows and tacitly accepts his former boyfriend to visit and harass him without making it abundantly clear that it is finally over, period. At one point, his former boyfriend attempts to rape Rak, and still, Rak forgives him.

Cheese in the Trap (2016) - I watched it because a friend of mine keep suggesting it to me which she is currently reading it as a webtoon but nevertheless it was great. I came to understand the webtoon because I watched it first before starting to read the webtoon. I really like the actors and actresses who acted the roles and I think that they suit it so much. I really like the fact that they kept the original story line and didn’t do as much changes as the story in the webtoon. If I didn’t read the webtoon I would have basically sorted this as a normal drama/typical drama but that is the charm of it. Although it tackles some parts of being a “chaebol” which is common in korean dramas, what I liked is that it focuses more of the struggles of being a college student and love of a normal student which cannot be seen in other dramas. I feel like I can remember my college days and I liked it that it speaks of the normal society and that a lot may feel that they belong, or they have a place in the story. Others may be disappointed with the ending, which I felt too after a few minutes after I watched the ending but after it, I realized that it was a good ending. I think it is done to respect the author of the webtoon (which have the basic rights to put an end to it), to let the viewers expect from it and also, I am positively waiting for season 2 which I hope would come soon.

Catch The Ghost (2019) - I was scared watching this expecially on the train rails scenes that is why I don't watch this at night alone. It has fun scenes and I found myself laughing over those scenes. Although not a fan of Moon Geunyang, I acknowledge how good she is - both her 2 roles here is greatly portrayed. It's a decent crime drama for me, and I like the fact that most of the scenes in the drama really revolved around the train station - a first for me. Kim Seon Ho is also great her, but since Geunyang is so good already, I think he was overshadowed in terms of acting.

Allen Ren and Seven Tan <33333333

Super funny and lighthearted show with plot twists and a bit of mystery. The cast was amazing, and the acting was really good. An excellent historical drama to watch if u like comedy and mystery. Aleen and Steven did an amazing job with their acting and there on-screen chemistry was perfect. There's not a lot of kissing scenes but you can still feel the romance and bond between the two leads. I also like the second lead couple. They were amazing even though there relationship developed pretty slow. I dislike the 2nd male lead, he was really immature and annoying. Jingxia already told him she only sees him like a brother but he still causes problems between the main couple. A couple things to look out for are the special effects. They were not good and you could easily tell there fake, especially the underwater scenes. The budget for this drama wasn't too high, therefore the special effects were really trash. it was so funny to watch the actors "swim". This drama would have been a lot better if they had a better budget. There are also a lot of episodes and each episode is pretty long. Some episodes were unnecessary and made the series a little hard to continue. Overall really good drama to watch and highly recommend.

Dr Storks protect and assist the miracles

Dr Storks followed the trials, joys, and frustrations of the medical personnel in the labor and delivery portion of a hospital as well as those in the NICU. Dr. Konotori worked to help mothers share the gift of life during the miracle of birth. Pregnancy is not an illness but as the drama showed, it is not without risks. The doctors and midwives fought alongside the parents and newborn infants as they dug deep to find their courage to succeed and survive.

The main OB/Gyns were Drs. Konotori and Shinomiya, both devoted to their patients but as different as night and day. Friendly and talkative Konotori was willing to risk a mother’s life to save her uterus while harsh speaking and quiet Dr. Shinomiya was ready to perform a hysterectomy at the drop of a hat. Made for an interesting balance. For anyone wanting to watch the drama for Hoshino Gen, he was only in each episode for a few minutes. This was Ayano Go’s starring role and he made the most of it. I thoroughly enjoyed his piano performances in disguise as the pianist "Baby". Some doctors had character growth and others broke down. In my country the majority of OB/Gyns are women so it was odd seeing the majority of doctors as male. The female doctors weren’t very well represented. One female doctor was easily excitable and distracted while the other was a walking burnout. Both came across as fragile. The doctor I would want in my corner was the older NICU doc. He saw the big picture and was steady emotionally.

Each episode had different medical crises and subjects---teen pregnancy, adoption, abortion, Rubella, birth defects, maternal and infant deaths, IVF, smoking, preservation of the uterus, midwives, pregnancy and sexual discrimination, as well as discrimination against single parents and working women with children, postpartum depression, and more—whew! A few of the topics came across as strange to me. Adoption seemed to be a new concept and there were misconceptions about the availability of pregnancy care in Hawaii. Members of the staff also had very callous attitudes toward certain patients which seemed the opposite of how they should have approached patient care. The gut-wrenching stories involved parents and spouses faced with traumatic decisions that no one would ever want to make. Some parents handled bad news better than others. As in real life, there were parents who would do whatever was needed for their baby and others who wouldn’t visit a child fighting for its life. A few of the topics were handled with the subtlety of an afternoon school special while others were quite well done. I hate to admit that I became teary during two or three of the stories. It wasn't all tears, there were lovely heartwarming stories as well.

The cinematography and lighting were rudimentary and could be distracting. At times the music blared over the dialogue which was also distracting. What Dr. Storks had going for it were the compelling stories of life, death, and the medical personnel who fought for happy healthy outcomes for everyone even when it wasn’t possible. The doctors realized they were often powerless and that “things don’t always go as planned,” but that didn’t stop them from giving their all to the women and tiny lives entrusted to them.
