A Grounded Take on Complex Heavy Themes and Unresolved Conflicts

This story addressed several complex issues; abortion and suicide being the most complicated. The issue of the controlling mothers, passive fathers and vindictive friend is also complex.

I think the narrative was excellent in that it tackled abortion in a realistic way treating it as one of many aspects of women's healthcare.

The suicide of the father of the FL was interesting but wasn’t addressed thoroughly. His circumstances were dire-he was depressed and sadly his judgement was impaired so was his ability to reason and find hope. The business practices of the corporation were portrayed as irresponsible thus contributing to the father's financial losses, subsequent indebtedness and depression. In the end the Chair rejected her responsibility.

The controlling manipulative mothers, passive father figures and the rejected vindictive female classmate of the ML were clearly depicted. I would like to have seen that some of the deceptions were exposed with consequences for the vindictive and controlling behavior. These negative behaviors were presented however they were not addressed directly.

I would describe this show as a drama with romance as a minor theme.

A Twisted Tragedy

Story is twisted-a tragedy as was the ballet Swan Lake. It was masterful that background music we hear is from the ballet as a foreshadowing of events.
FL realistically wouldn't accompany her former lover and his fiancee -who is an new acquaintance -while planning their wedding. Definitely not relatable. Also unrealistic that the FL would bring DNA results to mother of the ML without the father present. A modern approach would have been more interesting for me.
The toxic parent trope did have dire consequences- not for the older generations but for the lead characters who are indelibly traumatized by parents psychological and emotional abuse in their formative years and for their child. This series is a tragedy in the final scene they are living separate lives- there is no turning back in time - it would be unrealistic to expect a happy ending for the main characters.

The chemistry keeps getting better

I’m really enjoying how this drama balances romance, comedy, and workplace tension. The chemistry between the characters feels natural, and the acting makes their emotions easy to connect with. The story continues to keep me interested without feeling too predictable, and the visuals are also a big plus. At episode 8, I’m still completely invested and genuinely looking forward to seeing how the relationships develop.

Spooky in Love was such a beautiful and wholesome K-Drama! ??

From the very beginning until the end, this drama was simply a joy to watch. It perfectly combined romance, suspense, and mystery, with several murder cases keeping things exciting and a beautifully constructed storyline from the past that slowly unfolded throughout the drama. I especially loved how everything came together and how interesting the past storyline was!

The romance was absolutely adorable and the chemistry between the main leads was just beautiful. 🥹 He was such a Golden Retriever character and honestly just the sweetest! Their relationship gave me all the wholesome and comforting vibes, making this such a perfect feel-good drama.

The suspenseful parts were also really well done, and I genuinely enjoyed following the different cases and uncovering what happened in the past. And can we talk about the OST? It was SO good and fit the drama perfectly! 🎶

Overall, Spooky in Love was a beautiful, heartwarming and exciting K-Drama that I enjoyed from beginning to end. Definitely one of those dramas that just leaves you with a warm and happy feeling. 🤍✨

A must watch

I did not think this drama would be this good. I watched for Kim Ji Hoo, and I was completely hooked on the storyline. It is definitely a must-watch! From storyline to the cinematography and acting it was really well done. The special effects were so scary and I don't think they would create such a creative monster,

Still all 10 seem to have won an Oscar, and 168 death??? Even in a movie I can't fool SF with this kind of stupidity, he can't get drunk and stuff, of course I don't watch it, and the rating is not 10, but ZERO 0

AKB48

Love it when i was young. But now when i think about it, its just not that great a story. Because its just like a game where you fighting with boss and level up. And in the end, THE final boss had cancer and died. You as the main character become the top at school. No one go to jail for no reason. The cast is great because its AKB member lol.

Cooking in a prison

Maison Prison is a really cute Japanese drama, but it has a huge issue; which is it only has 5 episodes. I mean, this goes really fast, and the timeline between each episode feels confusing. I think this really affected my watching experience, especially since this had a lot of potential to be a great drama.

So the story follows Yoko, who is a high-class Italian chef who suddenly finds herself without a job since her restaurant owner ran away with the money. Being a single mom, she finds herself without a job, so she decides to pick up a job as a prison nutritionist. From here, it starts an adventure of Yoko in this new environment and learning the rules and regulations at the prison while trying to create delicious meals.

I love food-centered dramas; I find them to be very interesting when it comes to learning new recipes. However, I would say in this drama the recipes are not that original and actually are very simple, and this is also because of where this takes place. The drama does a great job highlighting how there is a difference in cooking for guests and for inmates, and cooking has to take into consideration a tight budget, since the meals are made with taxpayers' money and therefore they can't and won't be getting fancy food. So Yoko finds herself having to work with a tight budget while wanting to make meals that make the inmates look forward to a something special.

Of course, the meals are tied to a sentimental story for the inmates, and it follows their correction through the prison.
Also the drama give non realistic view of the prison and each inmate is shows as someone who is kind and gentle, which is not always the reality, if this drama was longer, they could have gone through some of the main issue when it come to prison environment.

The premise is great, but the biggest problem for me was the episodes. There are only 5, and you can't really keep a long storyline with only a few episodes. The scenes and situations kind of run really fast, and the timeline feels not cohesive with the events that take place. I strongly feel if they had at least 8 episodes and we had a bit more time to see the changes and relationship develop between the people, it would have been so much better.

Enjoyable but incredibly predictable plot

You can watch it on GagaOOLala: https://www.gagaoolala.com/en/videos/5947/peach-trap-2025

The classic "I'm just a regular guy, yet every man seems to want me." This series is not bad, but it could really benefit from changing a few things.
Overall I'd say I enjoyed watching this series, but it is rather a one-time watch, and I personally just used it as a palate cleanser between some of the more heavy and dark series.

Things I liked:
1. Taek Gyeon. Good friend, good boyfriend, and an overall good character. Needs to learn to not throw hands at every possibility and not scream just because, but other than that, he was definitely my favorite character in this whole circus.
2. The cute and caring moments.
3. Some funny moments.
4. Beautiful views.

Things I disliked:
1. Zero to no personality from the main character. Not only that, but Do Ha keeps acting like a child while being a grown man who can't make decisions.
2. They really could've gone lighter on sound effects.
3. They keep repeating the same scenes over and over again after we've seen them a hundred times already.
4. Predictable plot. Listen, I don't mind when the plot is easy to read, but when the series is advertised as "Ooooh, I wonder who the main lead will choose," and then you go to watch the series and in the first two seconds you can already tell how it's going to end? It just takes all the excitement off the table.
If it were advertised as "Main lead's childhood friend is trying to become his boyfriend after having a crush on him for 10 years, now that there is some competition on the horizon," then it wouldn't be a lie and also wouldn't be deceiving anyone.

Damn

The EMOTIONS were madddd,I was really feelin it! The character dynamics and the intimacy was so captivating to witness believe me I was weeping.Personally the plot was a bit messy and at times I was confused, but in general it never got boring and it got STEAMY!!The intimacy didn’t feel unnecessary and felt well weaved into the plot,it was very obvious that the actors playing these character shared a good bond and it was upsetting to hear that they won’t be working together after as they were a great together and they’re acting never felt forced!BUT overall this series was good and I enjoyed watching it.

Everything I Love in One BL: Crime, Forensics, Mystery, Romance and Two Gorgeous Couples

Police, crime, forensic investigation and mystery are some of my favourite genres, so this series was already right up my alley. Even better, it is a BL from the director of Top Form, one of my favourite BLs from last year. Naturally, my expectations were already pretty high after watching all three trailers, but after three episodes, I can confidently say this series has not disappointed me at all.

This series started with a huge bang and immediately felt so different and unique. I absolutely love the concept of how many times someone can die and the different attempts throughout history, from the AD era all the way to modern times. Watching these different deaths unfold across different periods was such an interesting way to introduce the story, and it instantly pulled me in.

Two Main Couples, Two Different Energies
One thing I am especially happy about is that we finally have two proper main couples, rather than one main couple and a supporting couple. Both couples already feel like they are going to play an important role in the overall story, with the themes of Revenge, Death, Truth and Love connecting everything together. That makes the series even more exciting for me because I genuinely feel like both relationships will matter to the plot.

First Couple: Chaos and Chemistry
This is my third time watching Tongtong, who plays Inspector Ken. I previously saw him in To Sir, With Love and The Wicked Game, where he had supporting roles, so I am genuinely happy to finally see him take on his first main BL role. Inspector Ken is cold, distant and emotionally closed off. He has lived through so many different generations and has tried to die hundreds of times, yet somehow he continues to exist. There is such a sadness surrounding his character because it feels like he has been trapped in this endless darkness for so long. I really believe James is going to become the light at the end of his endless tunnel.

James Is Already My Favourite
Boss, who plays Police Officer and Inspector James, is also making his series debut from what I can tell. James is tall, attractive and a hot blooded young officer with such a funny and energetic personality. He is honestly so much fun to watch and has already become my favourite character. He brings such a fun and lively energy to the series, with his comedy adding some much needed lightness to what could otherwise be a very dark and heavy story. I also love his supernatural ability to read people's minds and determine whether someone is lying. His ability to read people's minds and determine whether they are lying is such a cool power for a police officer, especially during interrogations.

Rivals to Lovers Done Right
Their chemistry already feels so fresh and natural. I love how they constantly clash, annoy each other and seem to hate being around one another. Their relationship has this constant tension that makes every scene between them so entertaining.
And the fact that they literally put red tape down the middle of their office to divide the space so they can stay away from each other? I CAN'T WITH THESE TWO. 😂
Their eye contact in the car and in the classroom was already so intense and thrilling. I am absolutely here for the rivals to lovers storyline.
And we already got our kisses!
It was explosive.
I cannot wait to see how their relationship develops from here.

Second Couple: Sweet and Tender
Moving on to our second couple, they are completely different from Ken and James. Their relationship feels much sweeter, softer and more caring, which gives us a really nice contrast between the two couples.
This is also my second time seeing Toey, who plays forensic pathologist Dr Jirat. I previously watched him in Top Form, where he had a supporting role, and I have always wanted to see him get a bigger part. I am so glad he finally got his chance here.
He is paired with Phoom as Chita, Jirat's medical assistant, and together they make another beautiful pairing. I am really interested to see how their relationship develops because while Ken and James bring tension and chaos, Jirat and Chita seem to bring warmth and tenderness.
Both couples also have incredible visuals. They look absolutely stunning together, and honestly, the casting is one of the biggest highlights for me. Everyone fits their roles so well, especially with the darker atmosphere and tone of the story.

Crime, Forensics and Supernatural Mystery
The story combines police investigation, forensic medical examination, crime, mystery and supernatural elements, with a series of mysterious arsons gradually uncovering secrets that have been hidden for years.
As James investigates the strange incidents alongside Inspector Ken, the case becomes far more complicated than it initially appears. Meanwhile, Medical Examiner Jirat and his assistant Chita follow their own clues and begin uncovering connections between the victims and the strange events surrounding the fires.
What I really enjoy is how the investigation slowly brings everything together while also introducing this supernatural mystery involving secrets from the past. There is a great balance between crime investigation, forensic work, romance and supernatural suspense, which gives the series a much darker and more intriguing atmosphere.

The Production, Dark, Cinematic and Beautiful
I also absolutely love the overall presentation. The intense music, suspenseful investigation scenes, dark atmosphere, stunning cinematography and gorgeous cast all work together so well.
Everything feels polished and cinematic. The series manages to feel thrilling and mysterious while still giving us the romance, chemistry and character moments we expect from a BL.

Minor Issue: AI
My only minor criticism is the use of AI in a few scenes. I later noticed the disclaimer at the beginning of the episode saying, “During the production process, AI technology was used in certain scenes to support on set safety.”
You can definitely notice it in a few moments, but honestly, it was used so little that it barely bothered me. I would rather have a show with a small amount of barely noticeable AI than not have the show at all. At the end of the day, the plot, chemistry, acting and overall production are much more important to me, and this series delivers on all of those. The AI use was so minimal that it really did not take away from my enjoyment of the show.

And honestly, three episodes in and I am already completely hooked.

This is shaping up to be one of my favourite crime and police investigation BLs of the year. If you enjoy mystery, crime, police investigations, forensic medical examiners, supernatural elements, gay romance and darker BL stories, this is definitely one you should check out.

So far, this series is a standout for me. I am completely hooked and cannot wait to see where the mystery, the investigations and both relationships take us.

My Aug Recommendation Drama

Long time put this into hold. Now, thanx to 𝑵𝒐𝒊𝒓𝑹𝒐𝒔𝒆𝑯𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒕 I’ve finally watch this… Let’s discuss drama….

This drama follows Choi Ban-do and Ma Jin-joo, a married couple who have grown deeply exhausted by the weight of adulthood and each other. Ban-do works tirelessly as a pharmaceutical salesman under constant pressure to support his family, while Jin-joo has put her own identity and dreams on hold as a full-time homemaker caring for their young son. Over time, financial stress and unspoken burdens rot their relationship into resentment, leading to constant arguments, bitter misunderstandings, and the painful wish that they had never met.

On the very night their marriage reaches a breaking point and they discard their wedding rings, a mystical event occurs: they wake up to find themselves transported back to 1999 as 20-year-old university freshmen, retaining all their memories of the future. Stunned by this sudden turn of events, they realize they have been given a rare opportunity to relive their youth—and, more importantly, a chance to alter their destinies and avoid the marriage they now regret.

Thrilled by this unexpected opportunity to escape their unhappy marriage and enjoy their youth again, Ban-do and Jin-joo decide to stay as far away from each other as possible. They reconnect with their old friends and embrace the freedom of being young and single again.

They also pursue romantic opportunities they missed in their original timeline. Jin-joo catches the attention of Jung Nam-gil, a handsome and popular ROTC senior, while Ban-do tries to win over his first crush, the elegant ballerina Min Seo-young. As they relive their college years, both begin to experience the happiness, freedom, and excitement they had long forgotten.
Yet, no matter how hard they try to stay apart, fate seems to have a funny way of stepping in. No matter how determined Ban-do and Jin-joo are to stay away from each other, circumstances keep bringing them back together. Their paths continue to cross in unexpected ways, almost as if fate itself is making sure they still have the opportunity to be together.

At the same time, beneath all the excitement of reliving their youth, there is one thing they can never completely forget—their son. While they are enjoying the freedom and happiness of being young again, the memories of the life they left behind continue to linger in the back of their minds.

And that is when the question of "what if" begins to take on a different shape...

So, how does their journey end? Will they manage to correct their past and open a new path to the future? Or will they eventually realize that there were many things about their relationship they had taken for granted?

That's pretty much the story without giving anymore spoilers.

What I like:
+ This is the beauty of old drama. It always has a different story from the all new one…
+ Jang Na Ra & Son Ho Jun both great actor/ess. I can feel the pain of Ban-do and Jin-joo…

What I don’t too like:
- As usual, the biggest turn-off for me with K-dramas is the length of each episode. But this drama is so good that it actually makes it a little bit easier to sit through the long runtimes. Haha…

Overall I really glad I can watch this & finally put this into my completed list….
