Strong start but hard to stay till the end!

This Japanese adaptation was cute and pretty well done. The first five episodes flew by and were packed with so many fun, heartwarming moments. One of my favorite characters was her coworker who gave her the nickname "Jackson." He was always supportive of her and liked her for who she truly was, which made him incredibly easy to root for.

Around episode seven, though, things started to slow down for me. I also found myself rooting for a different character than the drama ultimately focused on. The main love interest came across as a bit of a red flag because of how rudely he treated the female lead when they first started working together. While he did grow as the story progressed I never completely got over his earlier behavior.

Overall, I'd still recommend giving this drama a try because it has a really strong and entertaining start. Just don't expect the second half to have the same energy as the beginning, and you may not feel as motivated to finish it.

Overrated? You've got it completely wrong !!!

This drama is a drama that perfectly showcases why YangDi are considered one of the most visually stunning pairings in Chinese dramas. Their chemistry is undeniably the biggest highlight of the series, and it only gets stronger as the story progresses. By the final episodes, their interactions feel incredibly natural, warm, and heart-fluttering, making them one of the best drama couples I've ever watched.

The first few episodes can be quite boring, especially if you know nothing about MOBA games. A significant amount of screen time is dedicated to promoting Honor of Kings, so viewers unfamiliar with the game may struggle to stay engaged. Likewise, if aerospace and space engineering aren't topics you're interested in, the drama may feel slow because a large portion of the story focuses on the male lead's career as an aerospace engineer.

Many people criticize the drama as propaganda, but I don't really see that as a problem. Almost every country's entertainment industry takes pride in showcasing its own achievements, Hollywood and many other film industries do the same. The purpose of this drama is clearly to promote two things: Honor of Kings and China's rapidly advancing aerospace industry, which was reaching remarkable milestones at the time. Considering the drama was produced by Tencent, that direction isn't surprising.

Fortunately, once the romance takes center stage, the drama becomes much more enjoyable. There are countless subtle romantic moments that will leave you smiling, while the story gradually reveals how the two leads were connected in the past and how fate brings them together again in the present.

The male lead initially appears almost perfect—handsome, exceptionally intelligent, highly accomplished in his profession, and even skilled at gaming. However, beneath that image lies someone with very real flaws. Despite his high IQ, he struggles to express his feelings, isn't very good at social interactions, can't cook, and even faces financial difficulties, which become one of the main conflicts early in the story. These imperfections make him feel much more believable and relatable.

The supporting cast is also wonderfully written. Rather than existing solely to push the romance forward, they each have meaningful relationships with the main characters. I especially loved the interactions between the leads and their respective parents. Those family moments are wholesome, heartwarming, and add emotional depth to the drama. The friends and colleagues surrounding both leads are equally supportive, encouraging them in their own unique ways.

Without a doubt, the greatest strength of this drama is the visual appeal and chemistry between the two leads. The combination of a reserved, emotionally awkward man and a cheerful, confident woman creates countless adorable moments. As they slowly learn to understand each other, their relationship becomes even more convincing and satisfying. By the end of the series, it's hard not to believe that they are one of the greatest couples ever portrayed in a Chinese drama.

If you can get through the slower beginning and don't mind the strong focus on gaming and aerospace, you'll be rewarded with a mature, heartwarming romance featuring exceptional chemistry, beautiful cinematography, lovable supporting characters, and one of the most memorable couples in modern C-drama.

Can't stop watching - highly recommend

I'll rewrite this review when I've finished the drama. But I have to say already that this drama is outstanding. Hou Minghao is doing his best act ever in every way. Also - his fighting scenes and arrow scene is marvelous. AiMi is doing a great job. Everybody else plays their roles well too. The plot is really catching - I can't stop watching. I always save a bunch of eps so I can binge and tonight I watched 8 eps and had to force myself to stop.
I highly recommend you watch this drama....

well done indie short series

Overall: I gave this an indie rating bump. 4 episodes about 10 minutes each. Aired on Xiaole Boyslove YouTube channel
https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PL4hAtAftZF7bnAk9qPgTkvLpJFJKwWJk4&si=-LaHE6jMtrqZhbvQ (not in correct watch order, I was very confused when I accidentally watched episodes 1, 3 and then 2)

Content Warnings: homophobia, sexual harassment/non con touching (not between the leads)

What I Liked
- centered on 2 characters
- easy to understand premise
- wasn't a total noble idiot trope, he explained his reason
- mom had character growth though it taking her that long to see he was hurting made me angry

Room For Improvement
- the time jump

10/10 A must watch RomCom drama.
Though the boy isn't gay, but at first he lied that he's a gay to achieve a thing. But he falls in love with the girl and tells he's not gay. Proves it. When he's proving it he has to go through a tough time.
10/10 Awsome!
Overall review is awsome! As usual, his acting skill do not fail, so he is not only a handsome face on screen. The idea of the drama and what you can learn from it is not bad. Also the funny moments actually maked me giggle.. which doesn't happen often for me. Also, the number of episodes are not 2... maybe multiplied by 10. I was so captivated by this drama that I finished it in less than 2 days

10/10 One of the best TV shows around...must see.

10/10 One of the best TV shows around...must see.
Hi,
This was the 2nd Korean Drama series I saw. The first one was the acclaimed drama series Da jang Geum. And it made me curious of the socalled "Korean Wave". After reading the reviews I chose this show.
Wow i have to say...this show beat all expectations. matter of fact its so good..i have rated this as one of the best TV (mini)series ever. A must see.
The story seems pretty straightforward and quite easy to get into. A cross between Cinderella and she's the man. The synopsis tells the story.
But this is not a Hollywood made show.It goes much deeper than that. Where this show truly excels is portraying the relationships of the different characters in the show. Maybe its my Asian background. But the way they portray it and decisions made comes so close to my own experiences that its downright scary and also very touching.
I guess it explains the huge success of the show...who ever watched this. They will see a parallel to their own situation.
From a difficult relationship between a father and a son, to a mother trying to balance her need to find a new partner and her duty towards her daughters.
To me it was the start of the boyfriend-girlfriend relationship between EunChan and KanKyul. It mirrors my own experience so closely. The calling game, the little games you play with each other that could lead to misunderstandings and fights. And all this because you are afraid of the strong feelings you have for another person. Not knowing how to express it or how the other person feels about you. The beautiful thing is...they take there time to portray this and it works real well.
Where Hollywood stops with just the love story, this shows continues exploring and portraying the relationship behind the lovestory.
I can't recommend this how highly enough. A must see.

10/10 Korean Dramas would never be the same again..

10/10 Korean Dramas would never be the same again..
The title head pretty much described it all, with such unique story line of modern fairy tale and the harsh reality, it was sure hardcore for everyone who watched the whole series.
They have deviated from the usual KDrama style, plot and conflicts. It is fantasy by the way, but the great thing is that it was not greatly emphasized in the early episodes (the switching part). They did not spend most of the time in different bodies, in contrast to what others would have expected. Sure it was fun to watch the actors played so well but in the latter part it played a big role in story development and made the story what it is: destiny, love, magic and everything else in between.
More on the deviating from usual KDrama trend, let's go to love triangles. Pretty much empty, for the first part again I expected Oska and Yoon Seul to be big third parties in the rel. of the main characters (just like in Full House) but again wasn't interesting anymore. Another thing is the conflict between Joo Won's mother. I thought it would be another main conflict but the theme of the story prevailed: Love conquers all! I would also like to commend the writer for such great plot. I love that she did not revealed everything in the first parts, opposed to many Dramas that tells the social status of both protagonists, family background and conflicts at the start of the story. If it had been like that, it would not make the story interesting (I was really guessing what could have happened to Ra Im's father, or Joo Won's life-changing accident, nor how the Oska-Yoon Seul bitterly ended). It was obviously not a character-driven plot, it was more on what's going to happen to Gil Ra Im and Joo Won next that would help clarify the past. There were many metaphors, symbols and recurring themes (eg little mermaid and if you had not appreciated this series, I say you missed it. Clearly, it was a work of a genius to think of such great script and plot.
Another common mistakes of dramas is that you would end up loving the actors because of empty reasons. Secret Garden got me so hooked up to Gil Ra Im and Joo Won that i did not bother searching their names in Google when i was watching the series (I only did that after finishing the series). Their undeniable chemistry would sure fire up the intensity of the key plots, making them effective actors.
BOTTOMLINE: I fell in love with the characters! Not with the actors!
The ending was absolutely perfect. It wasn't a fairy tale like ending. Ra Im did not turn into Cinderella, nor Joo Won into Prince Charming. In the end, it was their love that prevailed amidst imperfections in their relationship and differences.
Finishing the story with the lines, "We still don't have a single wedding picture, but we tall in love every single day, like living a magical life". That's what I true magic brings into our lives: blissful love beyond imperfections
The story itself was well-written, plot was well-thought, the casting and the chemistry of the actors have pretty much set the tone for the success of the series. This may sound biased but overall i say this is the BEST KOREAN Drama i have seen in years, and I would be sure there won't be any DRAMAS that will be as good as this in the coming years.

Perfect school love to adult love drama

I want he’s it after Dazzling, so comparison is inevitable.
First of all, the balance between school years and adults years in this drama was strong, I typically get bored with high-school tragedy, and speed through it. Writers were merciful to leave me with 33% of the drama being about adulthood. My biggest pet peeve with Dazzling was that adult love between leads just happened within like 10 minutes and they went straight to marriage.
Chemistry between leads was hot and proper, no notes.
Character development arcs were a bit simplified, but served the premise. I am constantly amazed by a sheer number of artists making it big by late twenties in CDramas, but it’s ok, since it served the premise.
Overall, it’s a romantic story where passion and love between leads was well-written and believable with a sprinkle of fairy tale.

So to make it short :
- too long, as many viewers pointed out and too boring
- too many subplots and too many fake leads about the sister's death : like I said, it quickly became boring
- a female lead who appeared quite unlikeable, as she seemed okay with using everyone : honestly, I didn't buy her loving the male lead, as it seems to me she didn't love anyone
- a male lead who so looks like a baby that it was hard to take him seriously (especially compared to the policeman second male lead who's just RIPPING hot !), not to mention his médiocre acting : the show obviously wants to show as this hot, charismatic, full of bad boy attitude male lead but come on, the guy looks like he's still drinking his mom's milk
- there is absolutely NO chemistry between hé and the female lead
-like I said, he's totally overshadowed by the policeman second male lead : if they had exchanged the actors, the show might have been more acceptable. Whether it's in terme of looks, acting, charisma or even his chemistry with the female lead Li Muchen, Kenji Chen obviously outshines our so called male lead. If it wasn't for him, I definitely wouldn't have kept watching and I believe the only good thing about this drama is to have found out about him (can't believe the guy is already past 40, what's in their noodles ?!)
- also, this kind of story had been done and redone and I feel like I've already seen Li Muchen play that kind of part a million times

Something Good!

I was craving a good combination of script/acting/direction, and this is such a relief! Great story, many beliavable twists and subplots, super performances, and never a dull ten minutes anywhere.

If you like political intrigue, risk, character development, and friendships in historical drama, mixed with action and heroic problem-solving, you will like this alot. It doesn't have the intellectual density of some famous recommendations, but the story is really well-done, with no major deus ex machina unreasonably added just to keep the story going! Because the story stands well without resorting to saves. It moves. It's well shot. The people are believable.

As far as the noise about a 17yr old actress working with a 28yo actor, all I can say is: These are seasoned professionals.
