I am sold!!!
Update: Finished this and over-all, I enjoyed it. Some repetitive drama in the middle but it got better. Ending was a little underwhelming but still a good end to this series.******
Only 3 episodes in and I am obsessed. I do love Meng Zi Yi and she is such a badass in this one. I really love the reborn with memories trope. This one is killing it. I love how even with just 3 episodes so far, it has moved the story's pacing and plot already. Also, He Yu is so adorable in this role. I cannot wait for more episodes! I hope it stays good!

The plot zigs when I expect it to zag
I enjoyed this drama somewhat. I also feel confused and dissatisfied. These are not minor issues. Some aspects really impacted on my engagement with this show. This is odd as I started off quite impressed. It has a fast paced, no nonsense start. Bold images and bold plots. Our leads are well matched and have good chemistry. Yes, it is tropey, no surprises there.
There is no doubt Bai Lu is the star. She is beautiful, smart, strong and . . beautiful. She is well supported by Cheng Lei as the handsome yet vulnerable ML. The production value is high. Maybe not quite S tier. One of the more notable costume dramas of 2026.
However, there seems to be a recurring problem with the script. Just when you think the plot is developing logically, it goes off kilter. It is functional, but you feel an imbalance in the Force. That's why I said it zigs instead of zags. It is hard to describe so I'll give you an example.
Princess Ling Yun of the rival Cang Bei kingdom is introduced early on disguised as a wandering male merchant. She met the ML's BFF and they developed feelings. The show builds a sweet little romance between them and then did the unthinkable.
It is a key turning point in the story, I get that, but it also feels pointless. It is a cheap trick to shock and awe us. She was portrayed as a good and resourceful person, she has a bright future ahead and they kill her off so ignominiously. They could have sub in a random barbarian prince. Job done, war starts. No emotional collateral damage.
On the flip side, I kept expecting her to show up and surprise the 2ML. She is smart enough to fake her own death. Why not? A double twist! Nope. She's dead, Jim. It won't take much to throw us a bone, dear writer. You are off my Xmas card list.
Unrelated, the FL suffers from PTSD. She has very vivid hallucinations after the events surrounding the Li Mountain Academy. I get that, but the show is inconsistent. It can go from mild to extreme. This creates uncertainty as we can never be sure if someone she sees is real or a fragment of her imagination.
Speaking of the Academy, that is a very sad and impactful twist. However, once the dust settled, it opens up a Pandora's box. By the show's own reckoning, the FL was only 14/15 when everyone in the Academy died at the same time. She buried 47(!) people with her own hands and then lived alone for 6 years! I assume she was hallucinating like crazy.
The salient point is when we see her at the start of this drama, she is ~21 years old, well-mannered and educated. Perfectly normal and well adjusted. It makes sense if she just left a loving community of scholars. Once we found out the truth, it felt askew and unsettling. Makes me question a lot of what went before. The drama just steamrolled through bumps in the narrative without a care.
Like all things, the end cometh. It was a bit draggy and they cheap out on the epic final battle. We got the breathless messenger rushing fore to declare the ML has won the battle. Huzzah! Thanks for taking a couple of eps to hype it up. The fight scene in the palace courtyard did partially compensate for it.
If I'm honest, the last ep is a letdown. I don't know how they did it, but they managed make an happy ending feel depressing. It is uncanny. They even give us a lecture on good governance in the dying minutes. How romantic? Nothing surprised me anymore.
Ok, before I conclude this, let's talk about the elephant in the room. While the romance between our leads is swoon-y and the foundation of this show, there is no intimacy. There are the odd hugs, lots of loving gazes and whispers of sweet nothing. Yet, not one kiss in 40 eps! Is there a no-kiss clause in their contract?
It got to the point when even the writer is making fun of their situation. She put together one whole EP where the sole aim is to get the FL pregnant. I kid you not. The ML's sister got so desperate she fed him aphrodisiac!
We then watch our OTP walking hand-in-hand into the night while the FL said (and I paraphrase), "let's just do it." Have they not consummate their marriage after all this time?! Why? I have no clue. Are they really that naïve?
In the end, I have mixed feelings about this series. When it is good, it is very watchable. Then the plot turns into an Ouroboros. I'm still not sure how a drama of this calibre ends up in this half baked twilight zone. I am perplexed. Peace.

A love story about two people growing together
Lighter & Princess is more than just a romance drama. It is a story about ambition, dreams, personal struggles, and finding someone who believes in you. Li Xun and Zhu Yun have one of the most memorable relationships in modern C-dramas. Their personalities are completely different, but that difference creates incredible chemistry.Li Xun appears cold, arrogant, and difficult at first, but behind that personality is someone with strong emotions, deep determination, and a painful past. Zhu Yun is the person who slowly understands him and becomes his greatest support. Their relationship is not just based on attraction — they challenge each other, push each other to grow, and become better because of their connection.
What makes their love story so powerful is that they go through real struggles. After university, their paths separate because of misunderstandings, pride, and painful circumstances. Li Xun faces a major downfall that changes his life, while Zhu Yun has to deal with the hurt of losing the person she loves. Years later, when they meet again, their reunion is filled with unresolved emotions, but their bond proves impossible to erase.
The most beautiful part of their story is watching them slowly rebuild their relationship. Zhu Yun does not simply save Li Xun; she understands him and chooses to stand by him, while Li Xun learns to let go of his walls and accept love and support. Their journey from passionate young love to a more mature relationship is what makes the drama so unforgettable.
The acting is excellent, especially in the emotional scenes. The drama handles both sweet moments and painful moments very well, showing that love is not always about perfect happiness but about choosing each other through hardships.

8.3 average is a joke
I decided to watch this show because of the hype that was going on with it in the internet (and instagram) and the first 7 episodes where good. It was interesting fun to watch. Nothing serious. But from episode 8-10 it was “Ok. I continue because I watched half of it” and from episode 11 to 14 it was a challenge to make me stronger. Terrible ending. The show put every hints to say we will have a dramatic goodbye and then out of nowhere they decided to say oh no. It’s going to be fixed magically with 0 explanation. Or to be more accurate with 0 understandable explanation. They wrap it up with just few scentences lolAnd after that the main show ending is terrible. They should keep the show fun, fantasy, and romance but they decided to focus more on the company and how MC takes his revenge on antagonist

A beautiful story about quiet love, growth, and the comfort of finding love
Hidden Love is one of those dramas that feels warm from the very beginning. What makes it special is not just the romance, but the way the relationship develops naturally over time.Sang Zhi and Duan Jia Xu have a chemistry that feels sincere. Their interactions are sweet without feeling forced, and the drama does a great job showing the small moments that slowly build their connection.
I especially loved the male lead's personality. Instead of being the typical cold and arrogant character, he is caring, patient, and emotionally mature. The female lead also grows beautifully throughout the story, becoming more confident while keeping her charming personality.
The drama's biggest strength is its atmosphere. The friendships, family moments, and everyday scenes create a comfortable feeling that makes you want to keep watching.
The pacing is slower compared to some romance dramas, but it fits the story because the focus is on emotional development rather than unnecessary conflict.
The acting, visuals, and soundtrack all add to the relaxing feeling.

Body Swap Fantasy Done Uniquely
Started slow... took awhile to get to the fantasy elements, but once they came in they were incorporated well and uniquely. Great chemistry between the lead and secondary couples. The only couple that lacked chemistry was Yoo In A's character and the personal assistant dude. Also would've been cool if a romance developed between the Action Studio director and Joo Won's sister, since she showed a clear interest in him. The was good all around but especially Hyun Bin and Ha Ji Won. A lot of beautiful sets matched with flat lightning, possibly due to the fact that this was shot on film. A very trope heavy drama (a bit repetitive), but still well written overall. The story comes full circle in the end. I will definitely be watching more "old school" Kdramas in the future.Cet avis était-il utile?
Quando o amor ganha uma segunda chance. ❄️?
Simplesmente amei! 🥹💙

This did not need to be 40 episodes
This started out good and then the latter half (save for episodes 32-34) was just disappointing. Some episodes and scenes felt like padding and I thought did not move the plot along but rather just dragged. I really only finished it for Cheng Lei. I did like their chemistry and Ye Li’s story really broke my heart.Cet avis était-il utile?

A Bittersweet "Bullying" Drama.
There's so much I want to say about this drama. But let's keep it short. This drama, which explores bullying in schools, left me with mixed feelings. It is both terrifying and sad to realize that perhaps in some places cases of bullying are becoming more and more common. Although in my own place the bullying cases are not that bad (or so I thought). Like the tip of the iceberg, this bullying seems to be a hidden threat for a long time.
But one thing I've realized is that recent bullying cases are truly horrific. It's as if the psychological impact on the victims isn't a problem.
The perpetrators can still live, but the victims? Life feels reluctant.
It's a bittersweet, but bullying between students, teacher-on-student violence, student-on-teacher resentment, and even parental accusations against teachers do exist, and will continue to happen if we can't control ourselves.
And this drama seems to reveal everything (even though it is packaged in a fictional story).
Aside from the bullying things, I personally really enjoyed this drama, especially the interactions between Na Hwajin and Minister Choi. The dry, dad-like comedy was also quite entertaining, making me laugh out loud several times.
When it comes to the acting, I think they all deserve a thumbs up. This drama is a chef's kiss, I guess.

Long Live Noisy Hongs!
The series was written and acted perfectly, and it truly warms your heart. There are no dull moments as fighting scenes and character interactions are very enjoyable. The drama OSTs are excellent and will make you want to sing along. The leads have a cute love story and strong chemistry. The series is during the Yeonsangun regime, a known tyrant King of Joseon. In the series, Hong Gil Dong, a mighty child with immense strength and drive for justice, is born to his servant parents. Together with his Hong family, he fights against corruption and the evil ruler of Joseon. The series shows great power struggle between the Yangban (Noble) and Nobi (Slaves/Servants), which plays a huge part in the drama.
Overall, this drama is a must-watch for me. Personally, I was drawn because I am interested in Yeonsangun regime, which the drama reflected, in general sense. Though I think it's heavily fictionalized, the struggle of the people was real.
As I progressed towards the end, I can't help but wish that every country had it's own Hong Gil Dong, especially nowadays when corruption is rampant and people are greatly oppressed.
I have two favorite lines from this drama and I think will forever leave an impact on me.
First is something like this, "The blood flowing through my veins is warmer and more precious than that of any high-ranking official! Only those with bloods as warm and precious as mine can join this great fight. What kind of blood flows through your veins? Who among you will stand with me?!" It made me realize that not all those acting high and mighty are of noble heart. Sometimes those people who were deemed low and dirty are the one's who truly possesses a heart of a noble man.
Second is something like, "Why did you become such a lowly man, when you were born from such a mighty king?". It left a huge impact on me, knowing the great accomplishments that the previous kings before Yeonsangun had done.
If you want something that will fuel your drive for justice and see the people oppressed winning, then this drama is for you. Every feats reflects perseverance, courage, and strong drive for justice.

Diverse - romance, comedy and mystery
I personally really liked this drama. It's an easy watch but still enticing and fun. What I liked:
- The mystery element is undersold in the genre category. It really kept the story going and kept me hooked! The drama did not feel solely just about romance due to this element.
- The balance of comedy, romance and mystery is done well. I liked it.
- Each daughter of the family has their own unique personality, and it kept me wanting to see how the next daughter would handle things. I just felt like it was getting better with each couple! It flows well from one couple to the next and the introduction to each next couple is done naturally through the mystery storyline.
- I love the family dynamics. The development and growth were wonderful to see. It felt like I was part of the family, smiling with them at the end. I'm so sad I finished watching this but I'm glad it ended happily.
My only criticism:
- When the second and third daughter were kidnapped and the husbands teased them while they were still tied up and blindfolded was a bit insensitive perhaps? I get the point, but I can imagine you're scared after being kidnapped and then your feelings are being toyed with when you're worried about your life and thinking how to escape. I felt bad for the girls. Like that's a traumatic experience surely. Just my thoughts though.

It was a good show
the show is honestly a total rollercoaster, but fair warning, you have to be ready to stick with it. it starts off a bit slow and can feel kind of boring in spots, but don't let that fool you. those quieter moments are just building up the pressure, and honestly, they make the wild stuff that happens later feel way more earned. once it finally picks up, the intensity is insaneCet avis était-il utile?
Action packed storyline!
I finally watched this drama, and I loved it!I kept thinking of the British Monarchy and the House of Windsor,
as the parallels are many, especially the Death/Murder of Princess Diana.
I think this was more like a drama about the British Royals in a Korean setting.
It was a thrilling ride, with no boring slumps.
Well developed characters with ones to root for and ones you hope suffer a bitter end.
It was a well done Drama and the lead actors did a great job.
It was definitely worth watching!

Low budget boys over flower kinda plot
I created an account on this site just to pour my heart out . This drama will have you on an emotional roller coaster. I genuinely don’t blame FL for her actions becus at the end of the day she was a child failed by adults around her . As for ML family so upsetting how the acted. . The didn’t even look that wealthy to me . This drama was giving low budget boys over flower plot but overall I enjoyed it and glad the got a happy ending but it will really be nice for dramas to invest in happy moments more than having all the sad moments have more scenes then by the time for romance we have few mins left for season wrap it’s not fail . I will rate this drama a 7/10Cet avis était-il utile?
