Groundhog Day!

It’s the best c-drama about time loop in 2022! It’s about finding the root cause, the best option to save all the key people.

The story unfolds little by little in every episode. Bringing the the audience closer to the in-depth story of some key casts, allowing time to develop an attachment in a short period of time was upmost impressive about the script.
We are not only following the plot but also the background story, and speculating who will be the possible perpetrators or victims.
Premise of the story: if we are given a chance to stop a bomb, but not knowing how, what do we do? Do we keep looking for solution or do we give up after many tries?
When we are faced with a time loop, do we ask why or how?
FL represents pure heroic and altruistic nature of humankind. She wants to save them.
ML represents the imperfect part of humanity, some selfishness to only save himself or others. He was influenced by FL.
Strong theme on ‘do not judge the book by its cover’, nicely expressed in various background story of the secondary character.
Overthinking on my part: first point, if I am a scientific mind, I will say, this kind of time loop is not possible at all. It’s against the law of physic. Second point, if it’s an exploration of spiritual theme on how after one died and their soul or mind kept coming back to the last moment of their death, due to resentment or unfinished business, then it will be very sad and quite suffering to know that the whole drama is only someone’s delusion. I am glad thats not how the story ends. Third point, why only ML have the self-awareness, the awakening, why the other anime/cat loving guy did not have the same self-awareness? Is it because he is secondary character?
Fourthly, the motive - it’s a believable plot to drive a grieving parents’ crazy. However to the extend of them wanting to bring down a busload of strangers, why? If you said to revenge for their daughter, how would their behaviour serve justice to their deceased daughter? If it’s because they have given up on humanity, how will their actions create an impact. So based on their logic, wouldn’t people forgotten about it as how they have dismissed their daughter’s situation. Fifth point - the romance is totally unnecessary. I would prefer that the two main casts became closed friends and may be romance bloom only in season 2.

Anyway, it’s my 2cents worth of thoughts. It’s a very very applaudable attempt for C drama to have such good writing and good acting. It’s not perfect but definitely near to perfect for a sci-if series. Well done!

Realistic, Touching (Almost personal), Relatable, PERFECT.

I couldn't understand the hype when this was the most popular show at the time. I only watched a few minutes of the first episode and was so confused that I didn't continue it. But now that I have, one word comes to mind: WOW.

I love everything about this drama. The pacing was perfect—not too fast to feel rushed, but also not too slow to bore you. The soundtrack was also perfect and blended so well into the scene. The theme song, "We all lie," was really perfect for this drama. So many scenes resonated with the song, and it's so pleasing to listen to that it really gets you in the feels.

What made this drama so perfect for me was how it showcased the education system and how accurately it presented academic pressure on students, especially from parents. As the eldest daughter in an Asian household, I can confirm it really is like this and that it's so normalized and common. It shows the extent parents go to ensure their child lives a "successful" life; what more from those of high privilege?

I came in here expecting my blood to boil each episode, as I did with Penthouse (as I was told they were similar, ps. they're not) but regarding how realistic it was, I could only be in awe. The development of the families, both individually and as a group, was very interesting to watch. The comedy laced in this drama was also so natural and so refreshing (in short, not corny), I looked forward to it every episode.

I'm so happy with how the story concluded as well. The events that occurred in the final episode were the culmination of the previous episodes, so it didn't feel rushed at all. It didn't feel much like a drama, it felt like viewing the personal lives of these people and I commend the writers and staff behind this show for creating such wonderful craft that can resonate with most audiences. Kudos.

Adorable first half. Mediocre second half.

Continued to watch the show because of the concept. This is my first ever time watching a show that featured animals turned into humans arc, so I figured to give it a shot, but supposing it was a short web series, the plot holes hindered me from fully engaging in the romance side of it.

I get that Milk and Choco became humans and started feeling human-like emotions, hence them, falling in love with humans, more specifically the Uncle and Jung Woo was sort of valid. However, the development of how it came to that stage was poor but understandably so, considering this is only a short web series.

The acting was not at all bad. The actors did pretty well, except for some emotional scenes being kind of stiff from the actor playing Jung Woo, which caused me to not feel those scenes as much as I would've liked to.

The first half of the show really carried it for me. It was cute and funny, mostly because of the animal-like characteristics Milk and Choco displayed that was executed well. The second half was where the romance began, which was where it fell off for me. Once again, mostly because of the lack of development. In my opinion, they could've partnered up the voice-overs of the actors with montages of how they came to realize how they fell in love with each other which would've made it better, but what's done is done.

The last episode for me was like a mere spin-off for those who wanted a positive ending, but I'd simply like to imagine that episode 10 was the real ending, since it's more realistic.

Jung Woo had to accept the reality of not being able to bring back people and things that were already gone and that's something everyone should learn to accept as well, hence episode 11 being kind of a turnoff for me. Despite this, I understand that it's a form of escapism for some people, and I have nothing against that.

It was a solid 7/10 show for me. Definitely worth a shot at watching.

Glad I Watched It

I'm glad I watched it. I probably won't watch it again. I thought the light hearted humor mixed in with the heavy hitting story line was well done. I know others felt like it cheapened the plot but I appreciated the laughs. The acting was excellent because I really disliked the bad guys and rooted for the good guys and only good acting can suck you into the story like that.
I don't like endings that aren't clean so the ending left a LOT to be desired. What happened with the gold? Do the leads end up together? What about the rest of the building residents?

Decent enough....

The first few episodes you get to see everyone going through break-up/divorce/remorse/grief/old love/unrequited love/infidelity just to clear any past relationship and prepare every single character to start a new romance/relationship. The leads' love triangle/square might be the worst one I've ever seen. They are also the weakest part of the drama. At the same time, the main leads had a ridiculous amount of kisses and face slaps that the ML began anticipating to be slapped on the face. Writing wise, anything related to them was mostly problematic.

The drama ran into some seriously stupid moments/events that made it dip into unwatchable cheap melodrama territory "temporarily" but it still have its good moments to pull itself back up. The drama's message about family and self-worth was well presented. The last 10 episodes or so were nothing but smooth sailing, minimum conflict and good vibes. Of course, they had to go for the "maximum baby making" route for the ending. Give it a shot it's decent.

Beautiful until the end; then the writers hurt you for no reason.

Some well written characters, and a lot of character growth for the main female lead. Then the last two episodes the writers ram a terminal illness in, force you to watch e.v.e.r.y.o.n.e. suffer then recover, and reveal that the main male lead's death was faked. I tell people to avoid this because the ending made me so angry.

That is legit all I have to say about this flipping show but this site apparently forces a 500 character minimum for reviews so... ????????

I was good but....

The good stuff first..all 4 actor leads were very good and likeable in thier charcter presentations. Choco and Milk did a great job being a human version of a dog and cat. Milk and Uncle definetly had great chemistry and were engaged in thier charcter presentations and were beleivable. Jungwoo and Choco was a bit much to have a pet come back as a human and then turn into a lover....I got the remorse and the emotion of the story in the begining but it somehow got lost. I just didn;t see teh transition, or a reason for the transition. Jungwoo seemed to be accepting of them returning and never coming back. That heped my accepting the pet turning into lover "ick" factor. Anyway, Iwould have been better off with Ep10 as the edning. Now I'm sure there will be a season II which maybe something I just have to get over becasue I do like all of the charcaters and the actors. Happy endings are always better, but this one left me confused and having more questions that did not get answered.

Started strong then lost steam

This started off wonderfully, with a fairly original plot and a lot of energy. I loved the interaction between Bai Lang, a restauranteur, and Xun An, a dentist. Bai Lang is terrified of dentists, and in fact suffers from serious PTSD. Until he doesn't.

We also have Alex the bartender who is pursued by the much younger RJ, who also works at the restaurant. This is quite refreshing as RJ is adorable and yet he's rather aggressive with the much larger Alex.

The story was well-written, funny, fast-paced, and full of vitality and chemistry, with beautiful and taleted actors.

Then it deflated like a sad left-over balloon a week after a party. Xun An's ex shows up and chews up an enormous amount of screentime in a dull and cliched story, Bai Lang sheds his complex personality (and somehow his PTSD, which is never heard from again), and then on top of that, it turns out Xun An's father is an abusive homophobe who beats Xun An for weeks, which causes him to draw away from Bai Lang for two episodes, which leads nowhere because Dad easily welcomes Bai Lang into the family.

Likewise, RJ has to leave and is absent for 4 episodes, so that storyline ground to a halt, although we had plenty of time for Xun An's ex to woo Bai Lang's sister.

It felt like the director really didn't want to do a BL, so he tore the partners apart so there didn't have to be too much icky gay stuff, and inserted a straight couple, which added absolutely nothing to the story. This is underscored by the series ending with a heterosexual wedding. Why? Gay marriage is legal in Taiwan! How is that not homophobic?

From the tight and focused writing of the first half, the second is a sloppy and dull mess.

I'd give the first half a 9 and the second half a 6. Do I recommend it? I guess it won't kill you to watch it, and the beginning really is delightful and the cast one of the most attractive I've seen - but prepare to be disappointed by the descent into mediocrity.

One of the better Copy A Bangkok series and I am here for it.

I thought this series was great. I was skeptical at first, as it was created by Copy A Bangkok and directed by the same person who did Y Destiny. I've watched most of the previous CAB series with my finger on the fast forward button. BUT it seems that things are improving for the better over at Copy A Bangkok. The acting was great for the most of these actors that I have seen absolutely flop in other series. I was quite impressed with a few of them. Showing more depth than I've ever seen from them before. Enjoyed most of the stories. They were all insightful and dramatic. Kept my interest throughout the series. Lots of drama, betrayal, romance and heartbreak! Enjoyed the concept of seeing into the bl actor's personal lives and their workplace/career struggles. Was interesting to take a peek behind the curtain and see some of the components of working on a bl series. I don't know how truthful the protrayls and storylines are but it was it incredibly entertaining to watch. Interesting that some actors played themselves in the series. Even more interesting that some actors like Net and James were protrayed as jerks and bullies. Lay basically played himself with a different name and was portrayed as jaded and bitter. Makes you think about what are these actors are actually like in real life. Where does the truth begin and the series end? This series has some the hottest kisses and NC scenes I've seen in a bl series! Like the scene where Peak and Kla are in bed in the Y idol storyline. Had my finger on rewind for alot of this series instead of fast forward haha. I do recommend this series. One of the better series to come from Copy A Bangkok. I really enjoyed it for what it was. The production and script was much better than many of their previous series. Copy A Bangkok have stepped up their game. Seems like they are looking to step it up with BL series from here on out and I am here for it.

Call the dentist bc all this sweet stuff is hurting my teeth!

10/10. One of the best series I’ve seen and not just in the BL genre. The storyline is original and the dynamic between the two leads exceeded my expectation. Their chemistry is very natural and all of their intimate moments seem so comfortable and real. The way they shot some of the scenes was so creative (that deep convo they had while walking through the neighborhood). The conversations are very heartfelt and intimate. You’ll be glued to the screen. The visuals of all the characters are out of this world.

The relationship between the leads are very mature and they deal with very serious conflicts not just petty ones. I love the built up to them getting together and once they are together, they’re sweet as ever.

Spoiler!

THE ENDING IS TO DIE FOR. I love that we got to see their married life. Ugh my teeth hurts from all their sweetness.

Best romance series I have ever watched.

If you haven’t watch this, you have missed out on such a good show. Everything about this show is amazing, from the second that the female lead appeared on the scene, her acting was just chef kiss. She knew how to switch between a student with a completely different personality to a working adult. She acted both roles so well, the male lead was great as well. The storyline is a roller coaster, it has so many happy and sad moments all mixed up. It evoked so much emotions from me and this is the first time I have ever cried for a drama series. There’s also a lot of plot twist, some that you as a watcher would have never expected it. I also wish that the 2nd male lead will have a good ending, he was such a sweet boy.

The ending was so heartbreaking, I watched it because of the ost and I was expecting a happy ending but no it broke me into half. Man, I love the series so much. I just wish that Huang Yu Xuan and Li Zi Wei will have a happy ending in the upcoming movie.

Finished with a "meh" but still got hooked

Hear me out. I know this makes no sense, but when I finished the series I was like "That was whack. Could have done so much better at many points." But I kept thinking about the characters and even more the chemistry the actors have that in the end I was hooked up on the material. Completely irrational, but I would rewatch the hell out of this show, pick out everything I hated, and still have a good time.

The plot is the getting together. For PhayuRain it's not that eventful, sometimes even borderline silly/dumb. Honestly, reads like a fanfiction. The leads have crazy chemistry, though, truly saving their story and my sanity.

PrapaiSky have a far heavier plotline that takes good writing and good acting to do properly. While I also adore the leads, I do believe they did not bring the necessary acting range to cover all of that. Pity, but I am rooting for them to approve over time. I would like to see them in another project with different dynamics.

Also the writing was Not Really Good.
Sexy scenes were enjoyable though.

Absolute worst was the audio. What the hell was wrong with the mics? They were so sensitive, you could always hear when two were hugging. Honestly, really annoying.

In conclusion: Do you know that fanfiction you know is kind of terribly written, but you keep on reading cause somehow it keeps hitting the right feelings? It's this but in a series format.

Very enjoyable

Semantic Error is a well produced KBL with sweetness and humor. Plot is a little bit questionable at some point and I do believe the ending (which is different from the original material) was written a bit poorly, but I would love to see improving in a season 2.
Acting was alright, nothing world changing, sometimes a bit stiff but not bothersome.
The leads seem to have good chemistry, though from what I've seen, their chemistry off screen is even better. Would love to see that as well in a s2.

Overall enjoyable, fun watch that I would recommend.

Visually perfect and a great story

Tomorrow is about the reasons as to why people commit suicide, and it explores this theme through a squad of grim reapers called the Risk Management team. It's pretty clever, and the story is told really well. They don't hesitate to delve into the emotional, personal stories they're telling, and I ended up crying multiple times. It also presents a critique of various social issues, including hypercapitalism, social status, comfort women, etc. I thought it was wonderfully done, and it looked perfect throughout. Only complaint I might have is that it got a little slow at times, so if you're the type of person who likes constant action it may not be for you. Otherwise, amazing show.

An epic romance fantasy done right!

I have a short attention span and am very critical. I usually watch jdramas that run max 10 episodes at 24 min. each. So very quick dramas. It takes an exceptional show to keep my attention beyond that. I have, however, watched some really great cdramas that were so addicting I didn't even realize I had watched 30-50 1hr. long episodes.
This is where Love between Fairy and devil come in. This show was my first xianxia drama and the bar has been set very high. I binged all 36 episodes in a few days and finished today. I couldn't stop watching, it was perfection, and I didn't want it to end. I could actually watch another thirty plus episodes about Orchid and Dongfang Qing Cang. It was hands down the best drama I've watched in 2022!
I loved everything about this drama. From the character development, forbidden slow burn love story, to the costumes, and amazing CGI. Also, this show's OST was one of the most beautiful I've heard and fit scenes so well. Every character comes to life here and I found myself growing attached to all of them.
The acting in this drama was amazing as well. Everyone did a phenomenal job with their roles. I had never seen the fl actress that plays Orchid in anything before this, but she really blew me away with her performance. She had several character shifts in this story and she acted them out flawlessly. Plus, she had great chemistry with the ml and 2nd ml. I also want to give mention to the actor that played Dongfang Qing Cang's brother. He was awesome as the semi-villain character. Lastly, a stand out of course was Dylan Wang as Dongfang Qing Cang. He never dissapoints. I, like a lot of others have been a fan of his since his debut in Meteor Garden. I thought back then although he was so young that he had a lot of potential and then I later saw him in the drama The Rational Life (which I highly recommend btw) and it just solidified how talented and versatile of an actor he is. I think he is the king of facial expressions and he really outdid himself in Love between Fairy and Devil. And since as I write this review it's Dec. 20th, I want to wish Dylan a happy 24th birthday. Its been great seeing him grow as an actor :D
