Finally over!

OMG, after the bad shows started in April, May did not make it that much better, as this series proved. I don't get why actors choose such a show, maybe because they do need to stay relevant and better doing a crap show than no show at all. It's not that they don't have fan-meetings, concerts or other things which holds them in the spotlight. Maybe bad publicity is still good publicity.

We have the typical gay family with all three sons being gay, two more infantile then the other and almost everything is cringe. Because it ended as it did, I expect a special, because two of the boys did not get "married" in the series and the slutty friend of Moo-Moo didn't progress either. At least that part of the story made sense, that just wanting to have sex does not make a relationship.

The production quality was top notch but the script was lame, the over the top comedy did not help either. 2x speed is your friend or even +10s helps a lot to go through that. Nobody can't deny Boss & Noels chemistry, but if you watch Paypack you know that Boss can act much better. I'm sure for the cast it was fun but watching it was not for me. Interesting is that this series and "A Dog and a Plane" have the same premise of one of the main-chars, a nerdy guy who was more or less rejected by their love-interest in highschool. So, it's always the same story repeated endlessly without any fresh takes.

This was the first series not under the "MAME" umbrella for our MLs and I have to say, I did not expect it to be even worse. MAME scripts have their problems, but at least the backstory is decent. This was just a clusterfuck without an end for three of the four couples. If you make everyone gay, then please make sure everyone gets his partner in the end. Overall a waste of money to produce this crap and a waste of time watching it.

This was a weird watch tbh. The concept felt very Manhwa/webtoon esque and typical of the late 2010s early 2020s. or the typical fanfic sort of one night stand fiction. But unlike the Webtoons and dramas/fanfics of this time i felt no chemistry and there was no spice whatsoever, like there was that initial one night but like thats it????. There is no romance, there is no engagement that kept me there, no will they wont they butterflies, and i know that sometimes in Japanese dramas there is just in general not that much when it comes to these departments but there is no chemistry. I did however enjoy the fast pacing of the show. It made it bearable to watch. Its not the finest but it is cute for what it is.
I will say though that I can recommend it if you are looking for some more if you can call it a sweet love story that will be easy to finish since its episodes are shprt, you can literally finish in three hours, a predictable happy ending.

Carino

Però come serie è stranamente piacevole.

Wasted potential

Heo Nam-jun — finally his main lead moment, and he absolutely owns it. Charisma, comic timing, emotional range: all there. Lim Ji-yeon anchors the entire show. Playing a dual role — Joseon villainess and modern actress — she makes both feel real. Jang Seung-jo brings texture as the rival. Even side characters punch above what the writing gives them.

This drama showed us that bad writing can ruin a series even when you have a good cast. Time-travel dramas are well-worn territory in K-dramas, yes — but the concept alone doesn't sink a show. What sinks this one is that the writing never bothered to build the world the characters live in. You are handed a cast of people and expected to care about them on faith alone.
No character backstories. Why is the villain brother the way he is? The show simply never explains it. He is mean because the plot requires a villain. That's it. No context, no arc, no reason to understand him — just a function with a face.
The time-travel logic is unexplained and then abused. How did Dan-sim end up in the past? The show shrugs. When the rules of time-travel became inconvenient, they were changed. Going back, coming back, going back again — no internal logic, just drama when the story needed stakes.
The shaman is a narrative cheat code. An all-knowing mystical figure who appears to hand the female lead information, nudge the plot forward, and disappear — used as a shortcut every time the writing wrote itself into a corner. Convenience wearing a costume.
The second half collapses into melodrama. What began as a genuinely funny, warm enemies-to-lovers comedy became a tearjerker — and not a convincing one. Hospital scenes stacked on hospital scenes. The comedy, which was the show's actual strength, got buried.

The show had 14 episodes and still ran out of time for its own plot.

Very nice!

This was a very nice drama, not too complicated, but just a very nice watch. The story was good and very well executed.
The music was great and so were the visuals.

The acting was very good, the mains had good chemistry. The kisses were ok, one was just lip pressing and the other was too dark to really see anything, but as far as i could see it looked good. The NC scene looked good.

If you want to watch a nice drama without any toxicity this is one to watch for you.

Are you kidding me RomeMokh !!! Khun Theeee and his Lookpeasshhh never changed. Watch itt

{ Extreme Details }
~ I just shared my views naa, everyone have theirs...

The quality of production, the visuals even the poster's so pretty. It attracts me so hard
And I love itt so much already khaa , khun thee never changed he's still as silly as before considerate and lovely, after the marriage look at the glow up Peach had, they seem to have such a sweet and healthy relationship, People claim that thirty days of non-stop togetherness makes the relationship lose its thrill, but when it's about Khun Thee and Lookpeach's relationship it's just a myth, look at Khun thee even after 4 months he can't bare to live without Lookpeach for a second, his love is growing and he's even more obsessed...

I am absolutely obsessed with the details here. The OST is so beautiful and catchy that I’ve been humming it non-stop. I kept pausing just to smile like a total fool. I'm pretty sure everyone around me thought I've completely lost my mind

I thought they'll start getting more mature especially Khun thee, but I was proven wrong after watching the Trailer only , it was so chaotic, i totally got excited and cleared all my work to watch it today and damnnn I liked it , khun thee's as flirty as ever people usually stop flirting when they get together, but our khun thee is still the same consistent and puts a lot of effort in every detail.
The way he's taking care of Lookpeach I am sure lookpeasshh wants to treasure him for just himself..

I can still see Khun thee getting over the moon , just a time lookpeach flirts..
Lookpeasshhh howw can he nott get obsessed with Thee, cuz I'm already, dudee look at the details Khun thee remembers every single hour min they spent together and if I ask now, he can exactly tell how long they have been married, nahh not the month but in seconds uk. 9,687,960 seconds right.
They literally went to 20+ countries yeah Khun Thee went all out...

Did you guys notice the perfume bottles huhh??
( Me and thee ) ( Peach and me )
Waohhhh thank god I didn't skip a second..

Aww Thee is literally crying so narakk, he's already missing Lookpeach naa, what a baby, I would really like to know how it's like taking care of this three little kidss ( include our pookie little mafia khunn thee okayy )

We were missing a kiss right? That kisss ohhh
RomeMokh khob khun naa the kiss reflected sweetness of their relationship, don't you think Mokh and Peach both had a massive glow up after they officially got together with their partners.
Mokh is so different and I like it when he uses “dude” to casually talk with Khun Thee.

So, last time it was permpoon printed pants and now again permpoon's drawing you think I didn't notice huhh, honestly just give perm a role already, that would be insane..
Calling your own son "Blue and Green Bear" is not fair at all.
Khun thee every time he makes that face awwww I'm having a cuteness aggression. 🫣
I love that they're including this little details which makes this show even more appealing . All those hugs looked so warm and soft I could sense them . The way they comforted each other.

Whattt everyone wearing the most popular peach pushy hat to welcome Lookpeach huhhhhhhhh even the bodyguards that's extremely humorous??
That's narak to see our P'Kian extremely mad in love .
I love RomeMokh's pair even more now, like elder brother, like younger one, we don't really need to check DNAs we can already see..

Uhhmm uhmmm uhmmm attention please!!!!
There comes Emi as Mira let's welcome her, we're getting moreee now, I didn't expect her to appear and do you know that was the most beautiful decision everr to add herrr, and we already got a scene between them ayyy...
From wheree are they adding this much details...

Rome can you please stop being that much cutee, he's obsession with Mokh, Pluen you needa get a grip noww, Khun already got a grip isn't it ( really? ) .
So, Rome is going to be the next leader, what's the tension, what's going to happen????

Now lookpeach needs to get a grip, lookpeach can't help but spoil his P'Kian .. They continued the part when they got interrupted last time right.

Now, There's a lot of people who might find it boring, unwanted, fake, but honestly let me tell you when two people are in love there's no boundaries, everyone express their love differently, khun thee , lookpeach and all have their way too, it's humorous, cute, sweet to see two people having the healthiest relationship between them and with their families, Ik there's a lot of people who don't really like watching this kind of genre.. And I respect their part please respect mine too na..

Anyways ::
Uk the extreme parts are yet to comee, well I'm not predicting ofc I saw the trailer hahaa. So, are we excited for the upcoming episodes!??

Episode 2 :
Aww that backhug was so warm P'Kian, he's so cute always making a baby facee awwwww.... He's reactionss
Peach is extremely beautiful ohhh, the glow uppp
It's such a heart warming drama..
That's a nice way to support your boyfriend, lookpeach honestly they're so sweet.
Oiiii Rome, It is so frustrating that it has to be one of them taking over as Arseni's next leader. The way he's trying I feel so bad for him..

Khun thee is so naughty he surely need a strict but cutie wife like Lookpeasshhh, we got to hearr Everything Is For You yeahhh, I thought they won't, aww why is it so perfect, the cushions too.

Khunnn thee being dramatic is my favourite part of all, that's what khun thee is popular for isn't itt. You look extremely narak khabb. Whyy did they add that wind chime, isn't it too detailed...
"A stupid mini heart" ~ I can't stop laughing wth is he even saying, this guy is such a jealously baby, sweetie..
This guy Mokh and his reactions, I can't keep up, that's absolutely me in front of a couple being sweet.
Look at the creativity, calling yourself in your own drama, Me and thee , Naravit and Phuwin .
Wait a minute Pond did you suddenly forget your lines, pond is totally playing as himself, he just called Phuwin narak, was he actually acting .
Noww! Our Peachayarat is jealous uhmmm, I loving this so much, so does khun thee ..
Ohh god that touch, the way thee touched his soft cheeks such an adorable gesture...
I absolutely adore Khun Thee and Lookpeach, and Pond and Phuwin too.
A word by peach and thee is crazy already.

They still do things for each other is this kind of relationship really possible in real life, sweet little surprises means a lott, their eyes every time conveyed the deep feelings were always alive, each and every eye contact they shared...
They're absolutely unreal... They're eachother's safe place they always took care of every detail, I'm sure peach was almost crying, he's eyes, look at the efforts 🤌🏻
Love isn't scary when it's themm.
This chaotic and loving story I won't ever forget..

I loved that move, peach using guns, fighting with those thugs, that's more like Arseni's son in law..

P'Kian 's and Time's relationship has improved a lot, they're now like real brothers, teasing eachother, and I know it's a great change, but our khun thee never changes..
Mokh being cold is more I like itt, and leaving Rome like a stray little puppy, it's not different, but cutee...

Most of the time second season gets too boring to watch if the story between the MLs ended well in the first season already..
But this one is an exception, honestly you need a lot of skill to create this kind of plot that could never make you feel bored even though it's the second one..

I tried changing the way I write a little bit, just to make this review sound cute and funny, nothing serious, I'm not sure if I'm using too casual words.. But it's cute according to mee ...

It's more like reality tv than a dance competition

The show had diverse street dance styles including hip hop, locking, popping, krumping, and breaking through intense crew-versus-crew challenges. The participating crews — 1MILLION, Bank Two Brothers, EO-DDAE, Just Jerk, Mbitious, Prime Kingz, We Dem Boyz, and YGX — each bring a distinct identity and dance philosophy, which is part of what makes the show so compelling to watch. You're not just watching individual talent; you're watching entire crews with their own history, culture, and chemistry go head-to-head.

The show wasn't without controversy. It faced criticism for perceived biases in judging and editing practices that favored drama over fair competition, with judge BoA accused of favoritism after demanding a rematch in a battle, leading to backlash over the decision. There was also backlash after the chief producer made comments comparing the male crews' dynamics unfavorably to the female cast of Street Woman Fighter, implying jealousy among the female dancers versus loyalty among the men — which doesn't make any sense as this show had more rude comments and cat fights than street woman fighter lol! Eventually Mnet had to issue an official apology.

Great series for 5 year olds, I think they even got bored of me. GLuma doesn't exist, you gather 5 guys who will dance and sing and make a "hit" and make the series the best and make their way to world fame. A little bit tomorrow. Why are you wasting money when people can't eat and pay for the basic things of life??? Be a little more rational!

God, what a rape, you finish the series, and then you make 4 more episodes to take novas from people who are "crazy" for this kind of nonsense!

No idea about anything, no plot, no acting...but it's important to take money from people who barely make ends meet, they wouldn't show how the series brought success...I didn't see that any series won an award?!

Cheers

I regret not watching it sooner: A hidden gem

I dropped Fated Hearts twice at episode one, honestly thinking it wasn't my cup of tea. I can’t even recall what turned me off initially, but out of pure boredom, I decided to give it one more shot. I am so glad I did.
IT IS A MASTERPIECE, and my only regret is that I didn't watch it sooner.

The Story & Romance
At first glance, the premise might remind you of Are You the One (2024), but the execution is completely different. The way the Male Lead treats the Female Lead is incredibly refreshing. He is honest and avoids the typical "useless misunderstandings" that plague so many dramas. The relationship development is natural, logical, and never feels childish. It is truly a mature, well-written progression that keeps you hooked from start to finish.

Performances
Chen Zhe Yuan as Feng Sui Ge is nothing short of perfection. I truly don't think anyone else could have inhabited this role. His expressiveness and natural charm were captivating. Additionally, the choreography for his martial arts scenes was the "top of the top". I'm genuinely impressed by the training that he must have gone through for those sequences.
I also have to shout out Qin Tian Yu, who played the Emperor of Jinxiu. Even though his character was "crazy", he was so charismatic that I couldn't bring myself to hate him. He truly stole the spotlight alongside the leads.
On the flip side, the Princess of Susha was easily the most unlikeable character for me. I found myself genuinely frustrated by her actions throughout the series.

Small Critique
If I had one complaint, it would be the antagonists. While their role was clearly to serve as a foil to the ML, I found their schemes a bit lackluster. They weren't particularly clever, and I often wondered how they managed to survive as long as they did with such poor planning.

Final Thoughts
From beginning to end, this drama hits all the right notes. The script is tight, the internal logic of the world is consistent, and there were no "pulled out of thin air" plot points. I finished this series feeling completely satisfied, yet with a lingering sense of regret that it was so short. I could have watched these characters for an eternity.

Lackluster romance and medical drama.

As a romance show it’s not that great. As a medical drama there’s much better. It lacked the wholesome small-town or countryside vibe that I enjoy in K-dramas. For me, the most frustrating and grating aspect of this show are the townsfolk. A bunch of hard-headed, stubborn, and ungrateful people. I understand that these are the type of patients medical staff encounter daily, but it doesn’t make it any better to watch episode after episode. I almost stopped watching when the show when lock jawdude makes his appearance. The medical scenarios aren’t that exciting. Mostly it’s the show portraying the difficulties and lack of access to medical care. Great message but I got it the second time. Does anything meaningful happen in this show? Aside from the grandmother and a helicopter, I didn’t think so. FL and ML have starred in amazing shows. Pairing them up would be a no brainer. It didn’t work out. 2nd couple are forgettable.

IDK yet

* note: the story works for me (at places), the execution not so much (the acting is wooden around the edges for my taste, possible reasons: work with actors, highly probably actors' age), the music is beautiful - and does not blend with acting; it is 2 levels stronger as if wonting to rely what the acting itself doesn't; still solid enough to not stop watching

Edit: So finally, I went to inspect the series thoroughly, and I came to these conclusions:

1) What I mentioned in the initial post of this review - wooden acting - it is used for the melodramatic movie within the series, which, from a technical side, is maybe not done as smoothly as it could be, but I don't mind it as much as I would, if it was in the series itself (it is there, but sparsely, which is good).

2) The original material for the series is tragic if you take it from a real-life perspective. And I believe once it gets into live action, it gets way more fairly inspected than if it stayed only in written words. As it is, from what I have heard, it is the worst of the hell of a situations you would want to fall into if it were happening in real life. And no, it is no excuse that tragic things happened in real life, because if it is a self-reflective work that works with how tragic stuff in real life is, then it would never fall into certain specific traps that it did fall into in here.

And don't get me wrong, there is no shame to the author, because I still believe it has its place in a fictional world. But I must stress here: it is not copy-paste, role-model behavior, it is not something you should excuse if it happenes to you in real life, it is not something you should romanticize in your real life, and it is not something you should accept in your real life. It is definitely not something you should internalize or look up to. As long as you take it as a metaphor, as a symbol non-translatable into real life and not as a representation of anything, we are fine.

3) Construction-wise, it was obviously done by someone older who does understand the craft. I just must admire how incredibly smoothly it works if you watch all of the episodes together. There is zero room for any filler content. It is absolutely like they knew what was going on at all times. Logic-wise, it makes sense; even the story within a story is perfectly done. It's very smooth, very portable, very page-turner-ish, and very digestible.

Where it leaves room for improvement is still acting, and one of the reasons why there is room for the acting to improve is, I would say, thanks to the actors' very young age. It did get into my experience of what I was watching, I'm not going to lie, and at the same time, I must admire to what level and to what capacity the acting already is as it is (...good).

But in this specific circumstance, we must take into consideration what type of material we were dealing with: non-consensual sex, very dangerous types of behavior, rape, and other various very bad human things that you are definitely going to portray differently if you are 20 and if you are 35.

And then again, don't get me wrong, there is a drastic difference, in my perspective, in how you are going to portray university students as a 20-something and as a 30-something. But the impact of portraying students at different ages, and the impact of portraying doctors who are supposed to take care of mental health issues, are going to be drastically different. A person is not going to happen to be a doctor anywhere before 26, if not around 30 years old; to get a degree, you need to be old enough to treat people. On top of that, a doctor who obviously has severe mental issues himself (btw, including supervision was ingenious, grown up idea, great to let people see that even as a doctor who takes care of you as a patient, they are not left alone on all of these things, in fact, they must undergo this in order to do their work, and to fo it right. They absolutelly need supervision and peer supervision) - these things are going to be drastically different.

You definitely can do stuff a little differently as someone who is an adult and has much more perspective on the settings, but the implications and executions will vary much less and the depth is gonna be somewhere entirelly different no matter if you're 20yo acftor or 50yo actor. But as a 20-year-old, you cannot really give all of the necessary emotion-wise insight to a doctor who has all of these experiences himself when he is 15 years older than you.

And I would be very careful about undermining the series if someone were replying to my complaints about this with the argument that we are supposed to tell romance stories, not educational stories or whatever stories. There is something you should see once you get older that you cannot see when you are young, and the twist here is mostly responsibility.

And while they have done many beautiful things in the series, I would say the department of responsibility was severely left behind from the doctor's side. While everything around him grew up — the doctor and author with it — he as a character remained at his age range (20 - and should be much older). (Now, to clarify the confusion - the character was written like that, the actor portrayed him lie that. The character did not allow the actor and his actions to grow up, restricting him. If hewas written differently, if actor was able to rewrite him, it could be easily added those 6 + years in behavior and in thinking both.)

And for some strange reason, in this specific case, I cannot just wave my hand and say, "It's fine, it's just fiction." But at the same time, it's perfectly fine with me, and I have no issues if you decide to go with this simplified route of "it is just fiction" and not scratch that deeply into it. I can even understand why you would be unwilling to go deeper into this.

4) Just to make it perfectly clear, in both actors I have seen wooden-type acting, but at the same time, I have seen that it was very disproportionate because at some points they were way ahead of their age in acting, and at the same time, somewhere they were wooden in their reactions. I would say it applies to both actors. I would say I am leaning more towards wooden acting in the case of Shu Yuan. But it is served in such a way that I can write it off by saying it was done for the character that was supposed to be melodramatic in the movie within the series, so we are covered there.

5) Part of why I was so disappointed that it was supposed to end last week is probably that I thought and felt like this series deserved a longer scale, because we were delivered only around 30 minutes per episode and we had only 12 episodes, which is very much like lower-budget Thai series. I would definitely say there was room for delivering more if we had more time.

But because it's Chinese, somehow we managed to do it relatively short, yet relatively complex, yet relatively deeply intelligent, yet relatively layered — and I am fine with that combination. I actually love it. I just feel that it deserved way more space than it was given.

6) What I enjoyed the most and was the most happy with were the differences between the actors within the series versus the characters within the movie, and how we had this puzzle and the shifted perceptions of it and shifted perspectives of it.

How one of them villan in the movie was a good friend in real life. How someone wanted the role of the main actor, and then, when we were watching the movie, they were actually a character that wanted the main lead. And in real life, how they acknowledged that there were some skills in the main lead that he did not see and would not have shown if he were one of the main characters in the series. Etc.

7) I would say the script and the way the story was told was in lot of ways very satisfying. So is the choice of costumes; that's really nice. I would maybe opt for different colors within the actors' age range and different colors for the stories, just because I feel like the deep atmosphere that it is setting is kind of between their acting skills and acting range.

As in, they cannot pull it as gloomy as the darker furniture and coloring gets, nor as "cold" as it gets, because at some points it is really a very passionate story. And we are constantly trying to drown it in dark colors — why? Well, I know why; that is just a rhetorical question.

Also, I'm not so sure, technique-wise, why series that tend to work with very dark colors — as in gray, white light, and a black or dark color scale — have such a misery about abandoning it and using contrast.

I mean, in *Deep In*, there is at least some attempt at switching from light, like the gold lights, to yellow warm lights. Aka, the white lights are like the therapy room, versus the warm yellow light, which is like the hotel room during the night when they spent time together.

But for the contrast's sake, I would abandon this color grading and color scale altogether. Even in *Justice in the Dark*, I have so frequently seen scenes that could have been lightened and brightened way more than they were, and they just refuse to get rid of the constantly dark colors. At places, it was very suitable, and that is an example, by the way, where I would say it worked perfectly well and was justified.

And/or — but even there, I would say that there was this great disproportion in overusing it, and they did not really do enough justice to make a contrast for these very dark atmospheric scenes with something that screams light and brightness.

I think, texture-wise, this was not a problem for me in *Fangs of Fortune*, I cannot now pinpoint why it was not an issue there. Obviously, the creators there work very much with visual storytelling, and it just shows, and it's perfect in a sense.

And I wouldn't even say they managed to balance the darkness with contrast, as in making something that is incredibly bleak and dark and uses heavy atmosphere and heavy colors to translate this on screen. They don't use the opposite contrasts to balance it out, but for some reason, it might not be an issue there.

It might be because the storytelling from A to Z is kind of a very dark atmosphere too, but it kind of makes sense, and it's smooth, and it gets the impact all together. There is no reason there that would force you out of it, while I would say in *Deep In* and *Justice in the Dark*, it was kind of annoying in places because they pushed it unnecessarily everywhere, even where it did not belong anymore.

Another thing and reason why I think *Fangs of Fortune* uses something many series don't is that I get that if you have a dark, heavy atmosphere with a low-quality budget, and you want to convey the darkness and heaviness through dark colors, it might look laughable if you all of a sudden use baby, bright and light colors. You want to avoid parody-impression.

I think series like *KinnPorche* or *Payback* could balance it ideally. They might have overused the dark tones and made it fierce, but they interchange them with, again, warm other colors heavily saturated lights. And if you cannot switch into a palette of light colors because it would simply not fit the storytelling overall, you have the option to use deep, dark colors but across the whole spectrum.

In *Payback*, what struck me the most were these cuts where we go out of something incredibly deep and dark into darker red, dark green, dark purple, the KinnPorsche series again using yellow light, as in like a rising or falling sun, and green and purple — still heavy, but colorful colors, you know.

So, if you cannot switch to light colors, it's fine, but make it somehow visually diferentiated by using something that gets you out of the constant gray cloud you put on the screen. Using vivacious red, green, purple, and yellow on the darker side of the color spectrum can tone and balance it out perfectly.

And then all of these other bleak, dark gray, dark brown moments will make sense and bigger impacts, and it will fit way better than if you just use this one monotone type of color grading.

8) I have to admit I'm in love with the original soundtrack for the series, which is another reason why I did not want this to end so soon after I started watching it properly, just because the initial credits and now the final song for it, *Tiger in My Love*, were so beautiful. And I just love the sneak peaks after the song; that was ingenious (and wicked).

I also appreciate that they decided not to force the ML to create the lyrics for the OST. Not only because this is overdone already, but also I feel like if you have an actor who is 20, it's way wiser and it adds layers as time goes by if someone older writes the lyrics for them to sing. I might be completely wrong, and the creator of the lyrics might be — I don't know — maybe 15. Kids these days are relentlessly intelligent and bright, and experienced, of course. However, whatever it is, I really love that song.

Surprisingly good. Great acting, directing and cinematography.

Rated this high because for a mini drama, the quality is really good. I know ML is quite toxic but the story and premise calls for it. I like that for a mini drama they were able to put depth on the character’s backstory, that would make you want to root for them. The cinematography and dorecting in this drama is great. Story is delivered quite well. Fight scenes are good for a mini drama. I know it’s low budget but it doesn’t feel one. This drama is good to watch as cleanse after watching longform dramas. Actors did a great job specially with their micro expressions to convey the emotions of the scene. Look forward to the success of both leads in their next projects.

There’s no room left to cry

I knew this drama was going to wreck me, and honestly, this is exactly my cup of tea. I love emotional, tragic dramas filled with warmth, comfort, and quiet romance. Why did I only decide to watch this in 2026? I seriously missed out on one of the most beautiful masterpieces of 2023.

One Room Angel is filled with powerful metaphors and tells a deeply moving story about love, healing, and finding someone who gives you the strength to live life to the fullest again.

I actually rediscovered this gem because of its ending theme song by Sano Ibuki. The song is overflowing with emotion, just like the drama itself. Every episode perfectly balances calmness, humor, and melancholy, creating an atmosphere that feels both comforting and heartbreaking. I loved every single moment of it. And yes, the cast is incredibly handsome. I honestly spent the whole series wishing they would kiss.

Kouki is such a heartbreaking protagonist. His entire journey is painfully tragic. After nearly dying from a stabbing, he’s given a second chance at life. When he returns home, he meets an Angel who slowly becomes his source of comfort and the place he can truly call home. Ironically, this Angel is rude, sarcastic, funny, and constantly complaining, making it impossible for the kind-hearted Kouki not to grow attached to him.

There are many interpretations regarding the Angel’s true identity. At first, it almost feels as though he could simply be Kouki’s imaginary friend, a delusion born from his overwhelming loneliness. But as the story unfolds, we learn that the Angel was actually a student who took his own life on the very night Kouki was stabbed. Crushed by guilt, bullying, and the complicated feelings surrounding a classmate who both tormented and secretly loved him, his story becomes just as devastating as Kouki’s.

While watching this series, I suddenly realized something. I think I’d be okay if I had an imaginary friend or an Angel, that only I could see, someone I could tell everything to. Loneliness can slowly consume a person, and carrying every emotion by yourself is truly exhausting. That’s why Kouki’s loneliness felt so painfully real throughout the entire story.

One line completely shattered me:
“Since this guy came, I no longer think I want to die. On the contrary, it’s the opposite.”
Hearing Kouki say those words while hugging the Angel was absolutely heartbreaking. The Angel became the person who finally said everything Kouki had longed to hear his entire life.

As expected, the ending left me in tears. It was unbelievably beautiful. The Angel was finally able to fly, leaving Kouki behind. But the love, comfort, and memories they shared remained with him forever. The scene where Kouki’s mother finds a single feather and Kouki suddenly breaks down crying completely destroyed me. He later turns that feather into a beautiful necklace before saying goodbye to the tiny apartment where he met the love of his life.

Kouki, who had once lost all hope in living, finally learns to embrace life again with gratitude and hope because of the brief but life-changing encounter he shared with the Angel. It reminded him that life isn’t so bad after all.

I’m still tearing up while writing this review. One Room Angel is truly a beautiful masterpiece.

Enjoyable

I can't begin to tell you how fun & hilarious this drama is. The concept is so fresh and the story is complete unique -the FL actually writes BL dramas.
If you are watching this drama, then don't think aboutanything and just watch the drama. It makes a very nice watch, incredibly funny. THe ML is so so handsome and perfectly fits the role of teacher.
Absolutely loved it.
