neither fish nor fowl...

Hmmm.... Six episodes á 9 minutes is not enough to tell a comprehensive story. While the first 5 episodes are not that bad, the finale felt extremely rushed. I have no idea how the main couple fell in love. The chemistry between them was not convincing me even when their kissing and nc-scene were well done.

I have not much to say, because while it was ok to watch, I never felt involved in that story. The "little" reaper was of course the only professional actor and he did a good job, Lee Hyeon Jun was more or less the same person we know from "His Man" - quite stoic, not giving any vibes that he was interested in his partner. Kim Yung Hee is an extrovert person, so he could deliver his character much better and with some training he could become a "real" actor.

In summary, the script was not fleshed out, six short episodes is not enough to build up a comprehensive story. At least it was not stupid or cringe, so you can binge watch 45 minutes without much fuzz. Such a show should have much more depth especially so the viewer can understand what the attraction between the couple is, besides visual appeal. You can watch this if you like, you will get some nice visuals and will not waste time watching a fully fledged series which could be even worse.

Short But Sweet!

I rated this drama a little bit higher than most of the other reviews for it, but that's okay. To each their own! Everyone likes different things and I won't disagree with someone else's opinion, you know? It is what it is.

Now, I will commend the casting department for casting two "older" actors for the lead roles. They're both in their mid-to-late 30s and I really appreciated that. That was different and I found it refreshing. Actually, their chemistry was pretty decent too, if I do say so myself. Good job to the casting team!

This drama falls into the category I like to call 'palate cleansers.' It wasn't too heavy; there weren't a lot of dark themes or constant violence. It was your typical, sanitized, polished, bubblegum pop K-Drama. If you've seen one transmigration story, you've seen them all. But because this was a Korean drama (and not a Chinese drama like I typically watch), the ending was different. That's one of the high points for this drama, as well. There was no weird ending where it was all a dream or where it turned out to be the storyline for the book one of the leads was writing in the real world. No, it was nothing like that. The lead swapped places with the original character from the story and they both decided to stay in their new worlds/lives. The original lead from our world decided to stay in the book and vice versa. Again, I'm a C-Drama girl so I'm not used to these dramas ending this way so I'm still riding the high of that.

However, I will say I enjoyed the first half of this drama a LOT more than the latter half. I found myself skipping through the later episodes and there are still some things I don't know anything about because I skipped past certain scenes. It's almost like I grew tired of watching it, if that makes any sense. I can't explain what happened towards the end; I just wanted to finish the drama and be done with it.

Would I recommend it? Sure. Again, if you want something short but sweet and easy to watch, it's good for that. Would I rewatch it? As of right now, doubtful. I don't see myself rewatching this one. I have my comfort dramas and I don't see this being one of them. Regardless of my feelings for the leads, their chemistry, and the story, I can't find it in me to rewatch this one.

this is THE SHIT

The fact that I binge watched this drama in one day says a lot. I got hooked from the very first episode and literally couldn't stop watching until I finished it.

I went into this expecting a fun fantasy-action drama, but it ended up exceeding my expectations. It manages to balance its fantasy elements with real-life issues in a way thet feels engaging rather than preachy. It definitely made me reflect on how flawed and corrupt school systems can be, not just in Korea but in many countries around the world.

The acting was AMAZING . Everyone completely owned their role, and the performances made it so easy to get emotionally invested in the characters

The pacing was one of the drama's biggest strengths. There wasn't a single episode that dragged and every ending made me want to hit 'Next Episode'. I honestly don't remember the last time I was invested in this drama.

Overall, I'd recommend this to everyone. It's exciting, thought-provoking and incredibly bingeable. If you're looking for a drama that keeps you hooked from start to finish this one is definitely worth watching.

chemistry is flat also they done dirty to 2nd couple

I likes slow brun stories , story is exactly is according to my taste but for me something off with main lead

I did not really like the chemistry between the leads .
Although both characters looked good and had strong individual personalities, their connection did not feel as natural or convincing as I expected.
Their interactions sometimes lacked the spark

Either male lead should be different or main actress',bez compare to his stuff look she looks totally different,I don't get the feeling of strong couple

Also Instrustuer suo suits the main lead better, idk about these actors ,but watching 1st episode i thought he should be going to have good arc but he dint even have good arc and side story beside bromancing with male lead lol

Also his younger version looks good and felt some chemistry with her but older version looks so stiff and don't match chemistry, I know it's sounds stupid but that's how I felt 😵‍💫😵‍💫

Acting was very good.

But it lacked depth. I believe, with the premise/story line, it could have and should have gone deeper, darker, more mysterious, and showed more of the human psyche. I think it would have been better if the audience was pulled into the intrigue, instead of wallowing in frustration.

I didn't feel the characters, I was only shown their reactions and actions, so there was no way for me to feel compassion or anger or any emotion that would draw me into the story.

A good drama has multiple layers; audience members can peel away those layers. Sadly, this show was obvious from the very first episode. To put it plainly, it had no depth. Could have been so much better.

This show is one of the few shows I've managed to complete this year, but it doesn't mean it's one of the best release of the year. It's a great show to watch if you have a lot of free time and are in need of some entertainment, but do mind that it is important to not pay strong attention to the details and how the shows goes, as it will degrade the watching experience as this show felt as if it was just made to only entertain the audience by adding a whole lot of twists, which sure at first may be enjoyable at first but the moment you start questioning how exactly is possible good luck continuing the show.

One of the key highlights of this show is the main actor Lee Jun Young's acting, as someone known to play the bully in a lot of shows, it's refreshing to see him play someone who isn't a highschooler, as its getting tiring to keep on seeing 30 year olds play highschoolers. Additionally, I must applaud his talent as this show basically required him to play two different roles which isn't an easy task.

Overall, a decent show to watch to waste your time, great show to watch if you are a fan of the actors or so happen to enjoy family kdramas.

Such a sweet BL, it pulled at my heartstring when i found out about the trauma. I really liked the songs they added. I do kind of wish the episodes were longer or we had more episodes but overall i would definitely watch it again. The main leads had such great chemistry. I hope to see this pair again in more BL's in the future

This is not BL but you should watch it

If you are expecting BL (I was) and are incapable of pivoting (I am) you won't like this. I made the adjustment and binged this relatively short series in one go. I found the first episode really annoying and almost stopped watching. Stick it out. It gets more interesting. I didnt necessarily love the main characters, but I dont think I was supposed to. This isnt a feel good series. Its a realistic slice of life series that doesnt end with a bouquet of roses. I was surprised to find myself very invested and quite emotional by the end of the last episode. I would not have predicted that at the conclusion of episode 1.

Abusers and Victims

This series is actually a really good example as to why victims continue to go back to their abusers. The person that they once loved is usually the person that they are remembering and longing for, when they question if they should go back or not. Usually who they're greeted with is that person for maybe like a week or two, and then they go back to their toxic selves revealing who they truly are on the inside. This was exampled by Yi Chen consistently remembering their college years as what he thinks of as their relationship.

A refreshing reminder that even the biggest stars need saving sometimes

Idol I lands as a refreshingly grounded and engaging series that dares to peek behind the heavily curated curtains of the K-pop industry. It successfully blends a high-stakes murder mystery with a mature exploration of fandom culture, setting itself apart from typical fluffy rom-coms. By centering the story around a skilled defense attorney who secretly harbors a decade-long dedication to her favorite group, the drama subverts the usual star-and-fan dynamic. When her ultimate bias is framed for the murder of a bandmate, the narrative transforms into a compelling push-and-pull game of faith, resilience, and professional boundaries.

The strongest asset of the drama is its thoughtful commentary on parasocial relationships and the intense pressures of fame. The male lead delivers a standout performance, capturing the painful duality of his character. We see the polished, charismatic idol on stage contrasted with the vulnerable, cynical, and isolated human being fighting for his innocence behind closed doors. His raw emotional moments and psychological struggles feel genuinely moving. On the other side, the female lead brings a realistic, ethical approach to fandom. She respects his privacy and safety, showing that true support means standing by someone quietly through their darkest hours rather than feeding into wild fantasies.

While the romance takes a backseat to the legal battle for most of the show, the slow-burning intellectual respect between the leads feels earned. The cohabitation trope is utilized well to build natural chemistry, leading to a satisfyingly sweet payoff in the final stretch. Excellent soundtracks further elevate the emotional weight of key scenes, creating an immersive atmosphere.

However, the drama is not without its flaws. The legal procedures can feel a bit too creative or convenient at times, which might frustrate fans of hardcore courtroom thrillers. Additionally, while the ending is mostly satisfying, the pacing in the final hour feels slightly rushed. A few major subplots, like the storyline surrounding her father's retrial, are left without complete closure. Despite these minor narrative missteps, Idol I remains a highly entertaining and warm watch. It succeeds because it treats idols as real humans and fans as capable individuals, making it a worthy choice for anyone seeking a meaningful story about identity and trust.

Comfort series with wholesome storyline, great acting, and music

I only discovered US the series in April 2026 when it was already a year old since it first released in Jan 2025. So I may be biased as I get to watch the whole series all at once and it really was a magical wholesome experience, going through the journey of Pam and Dokrak.

The story is really a love story of how relationship and character development evolved from love to commitment to one another. Once you found that someone who make you feel at peace, you hold each other hands and navigate life twist and turn together.

The cast and their acting are top tier. Actresses who portrayed Pam and Dokrak were both new to GL series but they crushed it in their respective roles. Both characters were grounded in our everyday life. Genuine, caring and understanding, which give the audience the sense of comfort.

Soundtracks and the scoring of the show is also exceptional. This one is really top notch and thanks to the director in blending the background so well to each scenes, giving the audience the higthened feelings of longing, romantic, sad, being in love etc so so well. Ost of the show is one of the best. The leads lend their singing talents, allowing the characters to be able to advance the story through their singing talent.

All in all, the is one of the series that I keep coming back to for re-watch. The comfort value that it gives deserve a great shout out.

ALMOST perfect

I'm rating this show 9.5 because it made me cry not once, twice or three times but FOUR times.

I don't understand how people can hate on this show that shows me that they can't understand deep and mature topics

Everything in this series was a masterpiece, I can't even rewatch because I'll be wrecked emotionally again

Pleasently Suprised

WOW Gong Seung-Yeon is amazing actress, this was such a good performance from her!!

The storyline was intriguing enough for me to finish as well as the acting being good. My first IU and Byeon Woo Seok dramas. I enjoyed her acting, at first I didn’t even realize it was her because I didn’t look at the actress name when I started watching. I think I’m going to check out lovely runner soon because I also enjoyed his performance too.

At times the plot was predictable but in a good way. There were many times where I had to pause for a minute and freak out.

A Visual Medical Journal for the Public

Dr.Storks is a gentle, slice of life, view of common realistic medical issues that pregnant women can experience, accompanied by an experienced medical team. The featured doctors include a disguised piano player and a peer who carries trauma from a patient's death. The series functions at the problem of the week format and is held together lightly by exposure about the motivations and personal lives of the believable cast.

Good Script, terrible relationship.

The investigative storyline is excellent, and the characters have great depth—the acting is truly emotionally compelling. However, the way the relationship between the male and female leads is written is baffling. The male lead's stubborn attachment makes absolutely no sense; logically, no one would willingly wallow in the pain of seeing their wife fall for someone else—especially while still living together. Is he a sadist? It really ruins the viewing experience. If you wanted to write a melodramatic soap opera, they should have just done that instead of spoiling what could have been a great drama.
Such a non sence
