One of the best bls out there.. fell in love with every single scene and the ost is just *chef's kiss*
Some scenes got me laughing, some made me tear up and some just gave me butterflies.....
Worth watching and re watching again and again.....
The songs in the ost are now in my playlist too! They just fit so well with the vibe of the show and i feel refreshed after listening to them!!....
The show was able to portray everything it was meant too nothing was too overdone or left incomplete....
The two lead actors are just so cute and it didnt feel like they were acting.....
They really did justice to this role!!
Im so glad i watched this show and now im never gonna stop rewatching it!!!

A healing no-cringe romance drama that you can binge in under 3 hours!

Sometimes the best gems are the ones that are buried deep in the ground, and this one is definitely it! There is not much hype (or at all) for this cdrama which is a waste because this is one of the best watches I've ever had this year.

Things I liked:

1. A Very Unique Premise: Tbh I think this is my first time encountering a cdrama with this concept. It literally starts with a guy trying out different ways of su*cide. (Don't worry, there is nothing graphic.) Multiple times I have caught myself asking, is it okay for Chinese media to show this?

2. Flawed and Realistic Characters: There are no perfect characters in this show. The ML is antisocial and a borderline hikikomori, while the FL is a conwoman. But you'll see their humanity and end up rooting for them to rise above their circumstances and become better persons.

3. Life Lessons: "When is it 'too late' for a person to change?" "Can someone be kind to you without any conditions?" "Is there a purpose in living?" These are some (and there are plenty!) questions asked throughout the show.

4. Dark Comedy: While the main idea of the drama revolves around dying and just YOLO-ing without thinking of the consequences, it's not too heavy. The comedic moments are golden and it doesn't stray away from the overall theme of the show.

5. Character Development: I can write a whole paper about this but, just watch it!!

All-in-all it's indeed a healing romance as they said. It's not just about falling in love, but finding yourself and a will to live in the process. Best of all, you can watch the whole drama in under 3 hours!

This series breathed new life into the tired old zombie genre. The opening sequence with the methodical resurrection of the king hooked me in. It was beautiful in a ghastly sort of way.

South Korean shows are becoming good at taking old ideas, putting their own twist on it, and executing it perfectly. Being set in the distant Joseon period, the crew had to make sure everything from the costumes, the sets, to the props, all go together to create a sense of realism. It felt as if we were right inside that world. They were not afraid to make their actors look dirty, tired, and unattractive. Even the extras were done right, down to the zombie makeup and creepy jerky movements. The production value was sky high with hordes of zombies, bloody battle scenes, and even an undead ship. It was on par with Hollywood, and even better at times.

The acting was on point, nothing over-the-top or melodramatic. Ju Ji Hoon gave a very restrained, believable performance as an initially clueless prince who was learning to care about his kingdom and people. Jeon Seok Ho’s cowardly nobleman was not just a comic relief. You get a sense that he was on his way to redeem himself somehow. Heo Joon Ho as Lord Ahn was just cool without even trying. The show slowly built the characters so that you care about them, instead of just killing them off randomly for the shock value.

It was smart of them to leave out the romance. The plot had to enough substance to stand on its own. It didn’t need to be bogged down with a love story or worse yet, a love triangle. But what sets this series apart was how they used the plague to point out the social inequality that existed then, and still exists now. That was more scary than the zombies.

One of the best

Just a note, I'm not one to watch historical dramas. But this was definitely one of the best (and even have the urge to rewatch) despite the ending.

Storyline, acting, cinematography, OST, idioms used - everything was done SO WELL.
Both the main leads have solid acting and they have brought out the characters even with the small things, such as their hand gestures, eye contact etc. Even so, all other characters acting were so good, to the extent I actually hoped there were more episodes just to include the other side characters stories! The music - it fits so much with the scenes and its just astounding!

I'm sure everyone already knows the ending for this drama to be real sad. Let's say I don't favour dramas with extreme sad drama-line for the leads cause it just feels depressed. But the story for OAO was so well executed to the extent I am so into rewatching, crying my eyes out, and subsequently watching FAE to heal my sadden soul for their past life.

This is definitely a nice drama to watch. For those who were like me that are not into historical ones, just try it! There would be FAE for you to watch after this anyway haha. Ps. just remember to prepare some tissues mostly on second half of the drama :)

Helping the dead once again before they finally leave the present life

This is the first and only Ferryman series I've watched, and i didn't expect this to be a Singapore based drama. Filming was done in JB/Malaysia. Characters mixed with Taiwan/Malaysian/Singaporeans.

The storyline is great, 1 or 2 episodes per story. The CGI used in the drama was quite well made. Kudos to the team for making it good. Each story have a reason behind its happenings and how the trio solves it. For this, I feel it being very heartfelt whenever the story ends - like how they help the dead finish their final wishes, before sending them away.

However, the acting is not too wow for me. Not bad, but just doesn't wow me. The acting felt a bit held back by the actors themselves, whereby you can feel a slight barrier between them. Not sure could it be because of the genre of the drama itself, they were trying to held back or what so. Either way, I still enjoyed the drama despite of this. The story is quite enjoyable to my liking.

Whether I'll be rewatching it, definitely not any time soon. Though the drama was enjoyable for me, but story itself doesn't urge me to rewatch.

ZSC and SY has gone a long way to be finally together

As everyone knows, Forever and Ever is the sequel for One and Only.
I personally watched OAO then only FAE (though I understand some watched either one only, or the other way round).

Extreme brief summary:
Shi Yi (FL), a voice actor, dubbing for a movie which the character is named Zhou Sheng Cheng (ML). Because of this, when she heard ML's name to be ZSC (same as the character for the movie she is dubbing for), she got intrigue and went after him, and there goes the love story of theirs.

Story:
If you're looking for an exciting drama full of sweetness, laughter, or every episodes of honey splash to you, it might not be what you think so. Even though the OAO and FAE are not linked, its more of their past life and present time, 2 separate stories. The drama plot might be boring for viewers just watching FAE. Nevertheless , yes the drama is still filled with cute and happy scenes. I would still think FAE lacking in story. Family feud is not significantly bad (that's because they view the family's money to be shared and supported by the whole family, and not for individual's benefit - but of course there will be that ONE person who thinks the other way round).

SY is more dominant in this. ZSC is like a rookie in love but you can see his character develop and he is more into showing his love behind without expressing.

Either way, all because I've watched OAO beforehand, the links of what happened in OAO comes into mind whenever i watched FAE. An example would be, in OAO - ZSC had to go fight into war without knowing when to be back, whereas in FAE - you will see ZSC being a character that's very particular on his schedule. You can see how much the writer put the effort for the story.

Acting:
No bias here but both Bai Lu and Allen Ren acting is top notch. Every small detail have made them into the character. Just FYI, both of them have totally different personalities from the characters (you can see it in the BTS). All the second and sub-characters acting were so good as well. Definitely enjoyed the drama.

OST:
THEM FEELS!!! I've been replaying it non-stop ever since!

Thoughts:
I'd actually rewatch the whole OAO and FAE together again after a few months. It just felt the drama from lovely and sad (OAO) up to sweet and healing (FAE). The drama is interesting and i enjoyed it. Next round will be reading through the book it was adapted into hehe

Unpopular opinion: Overhyped (great start, poor ending)

When life becomes a game, brings out the scariest ride of life. This has a fascinating story line not new but still it's captivating games relating to childhood is really interesting.

Good points :The starting is really great showing people economic condition so that we feel bad for them and showing pity to have us emotionally bonded, that's great. It's didn't look forced

The production design is great. The cinematography and ambience created is spot on for me. The actors all stood out in their characters specially grandfather character, cop and that wild girl haha.

Twist: The participants can choose to quit and participate again if they want was kind of surprising totally not expected.

Bad points: See this is not a new story line where character participate in game and dies when they cannot complete task.
Like #CUBE and #ESCAPE ROOM they have done before. So ,it was kind of similar nothing really unexpected happen.

The ending, it sucks. The last episode was boring felt disconnected from other episodes. Of course , a setup for next season but really do we need it?

Definitely, there are loop holes if thought carefully like how that grandfather character can be in two places at the time of VIP thing and no one notice a contestant being missed?

But, at the end of the day, this show shouldn't be missed.

I loved it!

I loved everything about this! To me it was realistic portrayal of dating and falling in love. Sometimes “situation-ships” aren’t healthy when they start but turn into something magical that lasts a lifetime. The chemistry is off the charts. For a kdrama the pace was fast and amazing. The love scenes were also something I’ve never scene in a kdrama before and it was refreshing. While the bad boy turned good plot has been done a million times this was a great drama. Cinematography was greats. Acting was great.

I loved everything

This drama had a great plot. Tons of swoon worthy romantic moments and kissing scenes. Tons of funny moments where I LMAO. Great acting. AMAZING chemistry. Great cinematography. And a refreshing story without the typical kdrama tropes like horrid love triangles, backstabbing or nasty “in-laws”. It was just an honest reflection of recovering from past relationship trauma, learning to love yourself again and finding new love. The lead couple was so believable as a real couple. The chemistry was off the chart. Will watch again .

A nice laidback family drama gem

So this isn't one of those dramas where there is a lot of plot that happens -- by that I mean, some overarching drama plot like revenge from an event 30 years ago. Instead, it just shows two familes with adults blending together to become one large family. In the process, many of the relationships are strengthened and characters are better shaped. Many of the conflicts and feelings were very realistic but at the same, it wasn't depressing to watch. It was a perfect watch for these pandemic times. Would highly recommend for those looking for something to watch with multiple generations.

Unforgettable love at it best

I really love this drama. The scenery, the background, the music, the lead actor, the supporting actor etc. My favorite Chinese drama so far. Before I decided to watch this, I already read many reviews about this drama. Whatever, I still want to watch it. Surprisingly it's really good. Even though there are many episodes, I don't consider it's draggy. Every moment of this drama is really meaningful and enjoyable to me. And yes, this drama is really tear jerker. I don't know how many times I shed tears seeing Wen Nuan cry. She really nailed her character. This drama is portrayed well by all actor. I really love every character here. They did really well. Thumbs up.

Almost same story like YAMD....…????

Story of this drama much like You Are My Destiny. Many things are common. From contract marriage to FL's approaching and caring (because of one sided love) towards ML, misunderstanding between couples to still forgiving(FL) ML, caring FL by ML but in annoying way (ML don't want to show it yo FL), ML's ex-girlfriend's comming back to starting misunderstand between couple about their relationship, leaving FL for good of ML(as the FL thinks so) to find FL and cherish her to win her and a new hero's entry( who love the FL but help ML for the sake of FL's happiness). All are quite same. But with some twitch. Like their contact marriage here is not for baby(baby is in YAMD) but for their work and parents, not a accident meeting. Their meeting is almost a plan of FL ,like etc etc.... But how can the add same zipping FL's cloth like YAMD.... But ML's sister is truly ????funny and along new male's character, turely energetic .....

Reality vs Expectations ...

Wow this drama was really well done.

This was a journey, an experience, that will forever stay with me. I absolutely loved this series. The cinematography, directing, production level, acting, story - marvelous, beautiful and stunning. This series is a fiction, subtly yet un-subtly, calling out all the problems and flaws in the BL industry from toxic tropes, stereotypes, overcontrolling script writers to the cruel treatments of their casts, amongst other things. The story is about Gene, a professional BL writer, desperate to break out of the BL genre and try writing something else, but his publisher refuses and instead practically coerces him into writing another BL following his last successful one that was being produced into a series called 'Bad Engineer The Series'. Sitting through the audition for Bad Engineer is where he meets Nubsib, who's apparently a sheep in wolf's clothing. Nubsib is auditioning for the series and manages to snag the main lead role. It seemed to be Gene's and Nubsib's first meeting, but it's not because they met when when they were children around 14 years ago. They've got history, but it looked like Nubsib's the only one who remembers.

I would say... If you are looking for a realistic bl with all the sweet moments, tough times, challenging situations and a whole load of fluttering GENUINE MOMENTS ... THIS IS THE SHOW FOR YOU.....!!!

This drama really touched on the difference between reality vs expectations.. in life and the fact this drama was more based on an adult theme as opposed to your normal school / university theme.

The only Con I had with this drama was the last episode, why oh why did they turn it into a cartoon character, the sleeping beauty/Shakespeare/ cinderalla? that was highly annoying and probably the reason I am only giving it a 9star.

Overall: It was a well worth watch and everything was excellent.

Waste of time. disgusting behaviour that was normalised and made to be romantic.

I found this in my notes from when i watched this drama sometime last year and decided to make it into a review. I enjoyed the beginning of the show I guess. It was the classic cliche rich boss and helpless woman and they fall in love after they have a meet cute and enemies to lovers etc etc. SPOILER ALERT BTW,,,,,,,,,,,,, BUT THEN, EP10 THIS MAN GETS REVEALED THAT HE FAKED HER WHOLE ASS BONE MARROW THING TO GET MARRIED TO HER AND THEN HE TRAPS HER IN THE HOUSE AND THEN SOMEHOW SHE FORGIVES HIM. i REMMEBER the being trapped in the house thing so distinctly because I was so shocked that he was like this is for your own good babe <33 its all because i love you so much like no stfu... very very very toxic relationship, i tried to watch past it but it completely ruined the show and i couldn't see how much affection he tried to show her after this because of how disgusting the situation was and how they actually ended up marrying. Like how he stalked her for two years prior and then made her believe she was going to die and stuff. It was very machiavellian type beat like the ends justify the means but no, it was just a toxic relationship and she shouldn't have forgiven him because he a psychopath.

Also I gave mans a 7.5 for acting because I guess he made me really hate him and the show after the big reveal so go him for acting his part. Also how does this series have a 7.6 rating when all these reviews are giving out ones. make it make sense.
