it's very relatable to experiences of many viewers

I love love love love it! excellent story and great actors. good job. both seasons are just great 👍🏾after watching the first season, I never doubt if I would enjoy the second season. I love the chemistry between the lead actors❤️ I also love how the series shows the changes that occurs in life. the series wasn't stucked in one phase. it went from childhood friends to high-school sweethearts, to undergraduates and working class citizens. it's very relatable.

A true love never dies

Usually I am not that kind of guy who will let tears to fall because of some sweet emotions…BUT watching this drama….it totally got me.
When everything is packed in one peace, like comedy, drama, intence and love, you got one emotional product that leaves you speachless. Not many actors can bring such a pure emotions, like these two and one hufe applause for director of this drama. I can’t recall when was the last time I watched so touching series.
On every scene I can connect a real life, every emotions, every pain…everything. I think you really need to be maked from a stone and not to feel anything (like most of the comments)
We cannot play with love, I tried and got hurt. It is painful. A true love never dies and remain to be a true love for a lifteime…

Lu Di is best character

This show surprised me, I did not expect it to be this good, i was only watching because i need to learn Chinese. But there were moments that really made me smile. Also, there are anime and videogames references and i think Razer was a sponsor of the series. I rated 8 to music just because there weren't OST that were absolute bangers, still everything was perfect and i almost binged the series, even though it's really rare for me to get THIS interested in tv series, not only regarding c-dramas. But I have one question for people that already finished the show... How did the police not question all their knowledge in the last cycle??

THIS IS MY FIRST TIME I HAVE EVER WRITTEN A REVIEW , I HAD TO

FIRST AND FOREMOST, i got into NLMG late 2023 bc i have stopped watching thai bl for awhile bc of the same cliche plots and over the top scenes. i came back to the bl scene especially thai with kinnporsche and i didn’t t pick it up for awhile after that too.
ill stop rambling on lol, i first saw NLMG on viki and watched it without even looking up reviews ( am glad i did) , alot of other places had alot of positive things than here , which is why i need to defend my show 😂 .
i loved the plot of this show , it was similar to kinnporsche with the bodyguard scene but it was a different kinda of light than kinnporsche. Alot of people are pissed about the plot holes , i was but at the end of the day which thai serie has no plot holes. i dont know for alot of people but for me if a show has a good storyline and amazing chemistry between the leads( fell in love with pondphuwin here) , ill enjoy it bc at the end of the day this is a show not reality and u can never put every detail in shows.
the other point is ep 12 when palm disappears , i know that no one wants a conflict at the final but i feel like this has to be done , my theory is that we have seen couple of times that palm didnt have any goals of his and his only purpose was to protect nueng and he couldnt do that if he was the one who has to depend on nueng nw, he felt that he was a burden. the other thing is , if the alternative ending was , that palm goes to stay with nueng at the house and they graduate and yadadda happy, in my opinion that would have not been ideal for palm bc he doesnt have to protect nueng anymore bc there is no threat to them anymore , what would his purpose be , so i liked that he went to rebuild his moms bar and they had time apart for both of them to close lose ends nueng with the company and palm with the bar.
wooow thats long 😂 , in conclusion this show was my favourite show i watched 2023 , it has the burning chemistry , perthchimon were good here too, the music , the cinematography and storyline was amazing , it so criminally underrated even though kinnporsche with the most plot holes did well( no shade). i feel if u come here and thinking of watching this show ignore the negative reviews and give it a chance , u might like it or not , judge it for yourself.
thx ☺️

Fans of the South Korean version will appreciate the cultural nuances

9/10 is my rating. This is a 2018 Chinese reality dating show with 10, 85 minute episodes.

First I provide a unique synopsis then review

Synopsis

This is the Chinese version of the Korean reality dating show of the same name. With some subtle differences mentioned below and the inherent cultural differences, the show is essentially the same in form and content. The show starts with six singles, three men and three women who enter the chosen house location one at a time the first day. They cohabit the “signal house” (which changes each season) with the women sharing one bedroom and the men sharing two bedrooms. The overall goal of the show is for the singles to go about their daily lives while freely flirting/sending signals with the other occupants of the house. There are few organized activities, the main focus is on them living together and getting to know each other more naturally. At the end of each day they send a signal (an anonymous text) to the opposite sex single of their choosing and the detectives must determine who will send a signal/text to whom.

Signal House rules

>Singles must return to Signal House each night

>Singles cannot reveal their age or occupation until the 2nd day

>Singles cannot directly confess their like or love at any time during their stay

>At the end of the day, singles can send an anonymous text to one other house member

>Singles can go on one official date but each female picks a location without revealing her choice and the males choose the location they prefer.

Korean Heart Signal Versus Chinese Heart Signal

In the Korean version they call those that comment and try to guess outcomes based on signals the celebrity panel or romance experts. In the Chinese version they call them detectives.

The “gem” the detectives get for right answers look like the plastic hearts you might get out of a coin machine. The detectives even make a joke about it and one pretends to eat it. In the Korean version the gems are much more elaborate and look more expensive. Since it is a reward for predicting right, the nicer gems would be a better reward.

There is a lot of flirty behavior going on with the detectives in the Chinese version. There are sexual innuendos and jokes about other detectives. In the Korean version there is little to no flirty behavior among the celebrity panel.

Among the detectives there is a clear leader that says when they watch, what and how they vote, and just generally steers the activity. In the Korean show they take turns leading the celebrity panel group.

When the singles first enter the house they arrive one at a time and the Koreans are visibly nervous and they talk to each other relatively nervously and very guardedly. I was surprised how quickly the Chinese singles started talking to each other.

The Chinese singles essentially have two names, an American like name and their Chinese name. Because my native language is English it makes it a little easier for me to keep track of who is who. But it can also make it more challenging as they intermix the two names for each single. Koreans do sometimes have multiple names, especially if they are an idol, but often totally adopt the nickname.

Astrology is big in the Chinese Heart signal version, they talk about astrological signs a lot. Koreans focus more on Myers Briggs personality type and blood type but even that is not a huge focus.

In the Chinese version they are more likely to stick with whomever they get associated with. Switching and dating around seems less accepted.

Review

If you are a fan of Korean Heart Signal you should watch the Chinese version as tge cultural differences create some interesting nuances.

I watched this after the Korean Heart Signal 4 which I found to be one of the most frustrating seasons of heart signal. It made the Chinese version all the more refreshing as they didn't as radically and dramatically change.

If you are a fan of Korean Heart signal you will definitely get more of what you love.

Spoilers

I loved that Jimming and Zhou You pretty consistently picked each other and were a final couple. That was a frustrating rarity in Korean Heart Signal.

I was so frustrated with Junjie’s fixation with Oscar. She was such a perfect fit with Guo Rubin and he was so sweet to her. Oscar made it clear he was more interested in Tiange. I wish she would have given up on Oscar when he was avoiding her. She called him on it. So she noticed it.

I think the show manipulated the selection date too much so the relatively new woman, Jinwen, would get a date. She was supposed to be a catfish and I thought if she could not captivate someone that was on her. Forgive me but I think some females use their tears to manipulate. She cried and made the other females feel so bad for yer that she ultimately got Jungie to bless her selecting Guo Rubin. He so obviously was not interested her in that way. They did not have a great date because Rubin was so disappointed it was not Jungie. So Jungie goes with Oscar and that derails the fragile relationship that was developing with Rubin. Then Jinwen more or less blames Jingie for her bad date with Rubin saying if they knew they wanted to go together they should have made it clear.

I think the situation would be incredibly hard to navigate emotionally without getting hurt and without hurting others. It’s such a unique situation for somebody to be in a place where there’s so many perfect choices that you have two people you know you could have a good relationship with and they’re great for different reasons. What a hard choice to make. You would have regrets either way. No matter what you do you know someone’s gonna be hurt and it makes it even harder when you like all the people in the house and feel like they’re at least friends.

Entertaining and good pace generally but frustrating FL and I wish for more growth

Overall it's an entertaining drama and acting is good.
Watching it now (2024) was certainly a nostalgia trip for me, I was shocked how similar their university campus was to mine. The cafeteria, the corridors, the classes, the material of the walls, pillars, railings... wow! It was bringing back so many memories.
The story was interesting in the beginning and I enjoyed the slice of life presented here, the relationships between the characters and the development of their friendship. It's not a very different or unique plot, it's very average but it doesn't make it less enjoyable.
One thing of the plot that was a bit more unrealistic was the coincidences when it comes to the ML knowing sign language and how many people around Sae seems to know it, learn it or pick it quite quickly, but could be worse.

When it comes to the characters I liked all of them in the beginning but I wish we got equal development of Keita as the others in the group, he was left more as a secondary character than anything and not much it's done with him sadly.
On the other hand, while I enjoyed the premise and start of Sae as a character, as the show progressed I grew more and more frustrated with her as well as her dynamic with Kai. Sae was very selfish and although she's called out on it multiple times by Kai (I applauded this) she really doesn't change. There is very little progression of her character in terms of personality and maturity. Kai is the naive nice guy that keeps chasing a girl that has too many issues that in my opinion should tackle before dragging him in and out of her life every time she has an outburst. Towards the later episodes it became annoying to watch and I was really hoping they wouldn't end up together, I thought it was the healthiest for both of them.
In my opinion they didn't work well as a couple nor they had that much chemistry to begin with, at points Kai seemed more her therapist than her love interest. Kai kept showing interest continuously for her, but she kept changing her thoughts for him constantly and many times she was just very stiff standing there doing nothing.
I liked more the secondary couple even though their story is not as deeply explored, but it was cute.

Sae's mother was also quite annoying to watch at times. In earlier episodes she was almost treating Sae as she was a guest in her house, saying things like that she could stay X amount of time longer in the house before becoming independent and so on. She came across as the detached mother that wants her kid out of the house as soon as they turn 18 (or university in this case). But then later on she's super clingy, wanting her to go to Germany with her, meddling between her and Kai and trying to marry her off to the guy she likes... It was weird and inconsistent and considering how selfish Sae was, the mother barely receives any of her rude answers or tantrums.

I enjoyed it for the most part because of the nostalgia, the friendships and most of the characters. It's an easy watch and I would recommend if you like slice of life.
The romance here it's not the fireworks/sparkles type if you're looking for that, it's a slower progression generally speaking.

Time travel

I've already seen numerous time-travel dramas, so this one didn't offer anything new . It's a lightweight series with a lackluster storyline, relying solely on the commendable performances of the actors and actresses. Unfortunately, the drama's weakest point lies in its ending – the conclusion of the story didn't resonate with me, and I found it dissatisfying. Upon realizing that she came from the future, his reaction was surprisingly nonchalant; he calmly revealed his awareness, saying, "I knew you were from the future." Ideally, his initial response should have been more reluctant, hesitating to send her back. However, the turning point occurred when he learned of the dire consequences – her potential death if she didn't return. This revelation should have left him devastated, adding a more emotional and impactful layer to the storyline.

Personal view

So I read the webtoon before I watched this show, and I was pleasantly surprised by how well it was done. However some parts seemed a little rushed to me, even so, I can't complain, I absolutely loved it and would definitely watch it again

I really loved how they did it after the webtoon, but still added their own spices. I love time traveling and revenge so putting these together is something that i would absolutely watch.

If you're a fan of time traveling and amazing revenge, I really recommend you to watch Perfect Marriage Revenge.

It felt like a warm hug on a cold day

Seriously this was really good. I love the cast. I love the story. I love the production, camera, colour coding, and everything. I don't read manga, so I don't care about the comparison, it was just really good. Heartwarming, feel-good story but still perfectly captures real-life issues, sadness and sorrow. It definitely won my heart and this will now be on my favourite jdrama list. There was a heavy topic of loss of beloved person but for some reason I still felt comforted after watching it. It brought me joy. I can't wait for season two.

Convoluted but engaging!

Since the presentation at the beginning of each episode is a short summary of the plot, I don't think it's spoiler when I say this drama involves a little bit of time travel. We have a leading lady who goes back in time, with her memory intact, for a re-do at family and court life. The drama, tho, starts the story like you are already in episode 5 and the viewer has to catch up. In my opinion this made the first third of the drama a convoluted, sometimes hard to follow but the characters were interesting enough to keep me engaged.

I appreciate leading lady it's smart and an equal talent as her male counterparts. This is important to portray because the world she involves herself in is controlled mainly by man, so in many ways she has the upper hand when they underestimate her and she can be sneaky without them realizing what hit them. Of course, except for leading man and a few of his friends. They see her for her smarts, beyond the beauty and noble title. Which is nice. That is not to say the drama has some red flag here and there but, if I am honest, I am on vacation right now and I just took this story for what it is: a fun period piece with endearing characters and some intense chemistry.

The latter two thirds of the story were far more interesting. We already know our players, where they stand and who they are trying to take down. Now it's a matter to see how this chess game will unfold, which personally I think it's the most fun for this kind of stories.

Overall, I really enjoyed this drama.

last episodes ruined all

This has a very unrealistic ending which is spoiling the whole story. Albo the cafeteria motive...really how many times before real story the have met? This was not necessary. So even though emotions that will make you cry...the show was ruined for me in the last 2 episodes. liked the acting, the characters were also nicely build and evolving. Female lead somewhat annoying but that was the script. Wondering about the lock in the door in Lala land studio. Always open? clearing your nose in someone elses clothes...also like a funny or cute thing to do in SK culture?

Gaslighting and film making

Romances is an extraordinarily well written web drama with the unusual plot device: a film within a drama. the drama takes place at university film school, where the student are making a short film as an assignment. But that short film seems to be heavily based on real life: it tells the story of an actress making a short film who discovers her boyfriend has been gaslighting her into keeping their relationship secret while dating another woman at the same time. The actress decides to take revenge with the help of her film co star.

The drama has very interesting structure because the line between the reality and fiction is completely blurred. We don't really know which parts of the story were from the film they made and which are from life. Or whether the film was written as the real life drama unfolded. Everything is unclear, though the outcome of the film the students made mirrors perfectly the real life!

The characters are cliché but the FL shows amazing growth: when she realizes that she had been lied to, she does not fold though she's tempted; but with the help of a friend decides to have her lying and cheating secret boyfriend admit his mistakes. He's a creep! A beautiful shell of an empty, lying person. Charming but a creep, The actor did an amazing job in portraying him like a human, a real person and not just a caricature!

The actors are all stellar and I hope to see more of them. The music boring and unremarkable and the sound editing all over the place (sometimes we could barely hear the actors because the background score was so loud!). Cinematography is just as bad, correct and nothing more.

All in all, this was an excellent mini drama and I can see myself rewatching it in order to find other minute details differentiating between fact and fiction.

Most Ulike Parts and Overall

This series is SO good! It's what I like in a Kdrama. Mystery/thriller, light on romance but still heart throbbing and has an AMAZING storyline! The cast and acting are fantastic, not giving too much or too little. It's just right to make it more captivating to watch. I don't pay much attention to the OSTs as I constantly keep my eyes on the screen, but I know it always sets the mood for the variety of scenes that an OST would be playing. All in all, it's still a great series with excellent cinematography that captures action-filled scenes accurately and gets your adrenaline flowing.

Most unliked Parts :
1) why Gye young was killed . if he was a serial killer then why he stoped killing afterwards. and only killed those related to the girl.
2) Gye youung was killed before her father was killed by him so why he put his father on the same place where he killed her.
3) No information on whether he was a psychopath, a rapist or a human trafficker. Nothing, nada. All is left at the imagination of the viewers.

The most adorable KIM BAEKDO

Before starting this drama, I thought it was going to be some sad and slow story, but I was here for our BELOVED Jang DongYoon and our cutie Kim BoRa....But oh boi I was wrong, this was NOT AT ALL a sad or boring story...I enjoyed every SINGLE second of this drama....I know, I know, for many people it might be a typical murder mystery BUT the warmth this drama gave us is unmatched...♡♡♡♡♡

Let's talk about the STAR of this show, KIM.BAEK.DO.....Literally the most ADORABLE human being on this planet...You don't agree? well go argue with a wall....My man (yeah I'm delusional), Jang DongYoon did a FANTASTIC job at portraying this role...That chubby JDY will forever be one of my favorite memories....JDY, literally changed his whole vibe for this character...KUDOS to him for being our VERSITILE KING...

Our FL, Oh DuShik (sorry I forgot her real name) was a strong and determined character and her acting was AMAZZZZING..She gave us a perfect combination of her tomboish and feminine side....I LOVED IT....

KIM BORA didn't have a lot of scenes but the ones she had, she portrayed them like a QUEENNNNNNN(Ilovehersm)....♡♡♡♡♡♡♡

Finally, the other supporting cast also did a FABULOUS job at making this drama super amazing...(especially BaekDo's friends and the fellow cop)

I did figure out who the real culprit was, not because the script was weak but because they did a little bit mistake in casting......

Overall, I absolutely loved this drama and would recommend it, if you're looking for a story that is sweet and simple....♡♡♡♡♡

comfort drama terbaik tahun ini

- akting semua pemerannya ga usah diraguin, bagus semua
- chemistry antar pemain juga bagus banget
- buat aku screentime haedal-jichan kurang, tp aku tetep suka sih
