I don't like the ending

I was disappointed with the ending of the drama.

However, I still enjoyed watching it, mainly because of the excellent acting by the actors, even the supporting cast. The chemistry between the main and second leads was great, and surprisingly, even the chemistry between their bodyguards was enjoyable to watch.

The drama had many hilarious moments that kept me entertained throughout. The first male lead was adorable, and the first female lead's acting was exceptional.

Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the drama, despite the story not making much sense. It's just the ending that left me feeling disappointed.

wasted potential

The drama had an amazingly strong start but loses its plot midway and gets insanely dramatic for no reason.

The only enjoyable aspect is the strong chemistry between Moon Sangmin and Jeong Jongseo as their romance was main thing that was consistent in the drama and even took half of the drama.

The plot had A LOT of potential and it showed with the first few episodes but then it just becomes an enemies to lovers for MSM and JJS with the actual plot being a side story.

My biggest gripe is the fact that the story revolves around creating a marriage contract to hide that Dohan was gay, but it barely gets touched upon. Its almost as if they were scared to mention the word “gay” as the only mentions of it is seen once. He has zero story aside from being gay. Everything surrounding the sexuality is insanely subtle - which is the typical mainstream treatment. Every aspect of the gay story is so EMPTY and has no concrete story its frustrating.

Last few episodes were so hard to push through as it just gets more and more frustrating - which is hilarious to say because its a 12 episode drama.

All characters are poorly built and the lack of depth is wild to me.

The actors and actress nailed their parts and the acting was amazing! Too bad for the lacklustre writing.

They tried to add in every possible awful scenario just to finish the drama.

Truly wasted potential.

Above the feels and laughs, what makes this work is the fact that the three main leads can genuinely act... Refreshing and fun... Can't wait to see how it ends. Full of wackness while bring the shock value. Yay!!!

Reminds me of the quality older dramas without the long drawn out pacing and silly love triangle for triangle sake.

Endearing story about loss, grief and letting go.

Very lovely story and I enjoyed the actors immensely. The cinematography was lovely and the sound of the cicadas made me giggle. They reminded me a lot of the ones played in Japanese dramas. The faces the protagonists made when playing music was so passionate I could feel it. Ultimately it reminded me of how situations we may not address in the present tend to be fated to come back again in the future. How one brother ignored his love and it ended in the suicide of the object of his affection only to see his younger brother weighed down by that very same mistake was incredibly fascinating to me. The way they were brought together through the music of someone else’s love was so heartwarming. This is true for the second couple as well. Love and forgiveness brought them together it showed compassion and grace. However the series does suffer from a few pitfalls. It was too short and could have used at least another two or three episodes. I would have loved to see the situation with the sister resolved, she came off as a good person caught in between several destinies but I suppose life is like that sometimes.

choppy vague genres and a million flashbacks

Could have been a cute romcom but tried to add other genres and couldn't find a good balance.

I know its based off a webtoon, but sometimes you can make changes from original source material. I only read up until you find out about the mountain spirit, then dropped it, so I'm not sure if the show presented the historical stuff the same, but it made the show worse for me regardless. Like the mountain spirit is not a redeemable character, he is just an asshole and I feel no sympathy for him at all. And no one really questions anything ever? They just say accept everything at face value.

The resolution wasn't even really a resolution either? It felt more like "hey this is what really happened, okay cool, oooh look they got a dog! haha, happily ever after for everyone!" And the minutes long flashbacks, that happened MULTIPLE times of the SAME stuff was tiring. Like I kinda get it, their air schedule was messed up and they had to remind people what happened 2 months ago, but come on like 3 episodes had what felt like 20 minutes of flashbacks, back to back. I was constantly skipping ahead or watching on 2x speed once I passed the 9th episode.

silly, stupid, and simply superb

Let's start out with the basics--Was this a good show? No, not at all. Was it my favorite show to watch every week and did I have an amazing time? Absolutely. She contains multitudes. This show is not a deep and meaningful exploration of love or masterpiece of storytelling. But it's short and it's sweet and it's very, very cute. If you like Mew or you like Just B or you like your romcoms a little (lot) goofy with quick, convenient endings, you'll enjoy it here! But there's not much more to it than that.

- The Full Review -

STORY:
This story is wildly paced. A slow start, an abrupt end, and about a dozen odd changes in pace and tone along the way make for a... unique viewing experience. Simplifying the plot and doing away with some of the extraneous plot threads would probably have better suited the run time, as well as tempering the hidden traumas to match the lighter tone of the script.
That said, it's fun! The reality show was a cute concept and it the script handled the humor well. The characters were charming and it was easy to root for them through all the mess.

ACTING:
I love Mew, and I think he's a wonderfully charming romcom actor. He's got a very lovable loser energy that boosts his characters transformation. My only real complaint is that I never bought the brooding bad guy persona. JM was a surprisingly good match for him, with an understated and genuine chemistry. His character was quite subdued, but still offered a range of personality without feeling stale or one-note.

PRODUCTION:
Lol. Lmao even. Why is there one dog at the dog cafe? Why are the translation earbuds splatter painted? Why does the manager have a giant painting of Uno with a guitar in his office? What was up with the rooftop pinterest tent? Many decisions did not make sense here. They didn't necessarily *hurt* the show, but it did make it feel... additionally amateur. Better choices could have been made with the budget they had.

INTIMACY:
Truly, I am including this category because it made me laugh so hard I cried. Why did this company evil edit their kiss? We know Mew can kiss. The footage suggests they can both kiss (Sorry, JM, I don't know you like that). Why did you cut 7 times and then start filming the back of his head? What... what was going on here? I just want to know what was so scary about a simple kiss that you had to ruin your own moment that way.

In all, I had a great time and I would watch it again... But I'm not sure I'd recommend it to the average viewer. If you're looking for something silly and fun, this might be a good, quick watch for you! If you don't like BLs that don't invest in their own story, this is probably not going to tickle your fancy.

Phenomenal!

First of all, everyone who's involved in the drama did an outstanding job!
As a huge fan of the main characters since HEIRS and MY LOVE FROM THE STARS. I'm so honored to see them grow as an actor and actress.
They deserve all the praise and awards.
Beating CLOY... is not something I'll be shooked. I love CLOY.. they were my number 2 fav in kdramas but the plot, story, and acting of this drama are just above beyond my expectations.
It's more like... VIEWERS OF TEARS.
The emotions they put into their characters are just....speechless.
I'm in love.
Truly deserved awards...Plenty!
Thank you for the rollercoasters of emotions.
Giving me the feelings of happiness, sadness, anger, and thrills.

Thank you, QUEEN OF TEARS CAST. ◇♡◇

Hope to see them more in future dramas♡

excellent acting and story lines

Watched a third time and it gets better and better each time. intellectual dialogue along with fun comedic iteractions with the two main characters. The villain character is very interesting and keeps you on your toes. Ha Ru character is complex and he portrayed it very well. Love the intense anger and pain he emitted in his acting. The best part is his intellectual brain. He delivered the lines so perfectly. I throughly enjoyed the explanation on how the brain works. Smart script with funny scenes. A perfect drama. I would watch it again and again.

Perfect amount of spices

The story for me is amazing. This deserve to be at top dramas of all time. The main cast's acting was great, the supporting cast did their job well. It's just like a cooking with the perfect amount of spice. I know many people can't understand the story or get the rom-com aspects in this series but this drama just perfectly portrait how people are, according to their status there in ancient China. I don't think the main leads doesn't have chemistry. For someone who loves to hide my expression and loves story with little clues but deep love, I think the Male Lead does it well. He's not bland, it's just what real people with high knowledge, status, and dignity will act. They tend to not show their emotions. But I actually can see his mind through his eyes and body language. if he kissed the Female Lead, my respect to him will go down. I never watch Ju Jing Yi shows until the end, but her acting here is if I can say, Superb. I can really relate with her emotions and she can adapt with three different male leads with three different characters so well. As for Wang Rui Chang and Bi Wen Jun, I cannot say it the other way. Their acting is always hit right. They both deserve to be more well-known. They are born to play this character. Notice how all of the cast tones are according to the ancient chinese tones. Other than the cast, I like the story values just like the other reviewer said. The moral and principal values that the producers want to tell us.

So much can happen in a blink of eye

Before starting I want to state that this is my first drama review. So if there is any mistake please spare that.

Title: The title is the first thing that attracted me .So in Nirvana in fire ,Mei Changsu is basically the flames. Title is too catchy to ignore.

Cast: I cannot imagine anyone except Hu Ge in that role. The same goes with all the other actors playing their roles.I could feel the ambition in every character.Especially the female leads nailed it.

Story: Perfect. It is the only word that can explain the draam. We can never get another Mei Changsu who is willing to sacrifice everything literally everything for his country and his men.The way he shows his love and care to ni hung and jinyang cannot be explained. On that note Yujin's and jingrui's friendship is underrated here. Every character is subjected to injustice even in the end but they served justice. Jinyang is quiet stupid I guess. But still a good human being.Concubine Jing is truly something.Without her help it would have been difficult for Mei Changsu to serve his purpose. I sympathized with Prince Yu in the end.At least I wanted his last wish to save his unborn child could be granted.Jingrui's story is also quite unique, thrilling and mysterious.Ni hung being a strong female is portrayed well.I think Banruo was the female version of Mei Changsu with more evilness. This drama is male centred but the actual masterminds are all female except Mei Changsu. In the c dramaland Mei Changsu aka lin Shu aka Xiao Shu is still my favourite character. Not to mention that Mei Changsu is my biggest crush till date.

Ending: Bittersweet. And that is what makes it more perfect. The way jingyan removed the red cloth assuming that Lin Shu is never coming back ,the last conversation between nihung and Lin Shu ,the re naming of the army refering to Mei Changsu,is hard it throw out of my mind.

Music was beautiful.I am definitely watching it again. And everytime you watch it just keep attention to the dialogues because you may have to re watch the scene to understand what is actually happening.

Impressive

My first thought about the drama was as it is 20eps, and historical drama there would be so much lag. But I am impressed at the pace story is going now. I was surprised that the suspense parts are also getting revealed without dragging it. Every charector here are soo good. Main leads Suho and Yeji are sooo pretty and cute together. Every time they are together i makes my heart warm. Nothing is rushed story getting intresting with the flow even the main villains etc are already revealed.

You can give it a try if you wanted to watch a history drama with thriller, comedy, Love with angst, kinda revenge elements in it then Missing crown prince is the best

She was the only green left but why?

Story (8): While the storyline may not be entirely original, the execution was commendable. However, I found myself grappling with certain discrepancies, particularly regarding the inconsistency in the colors. Despite the expectation of red and yellow to play pivotal roles in supposed saving the green, that did not happen. Furthermore, the unresolved fate of the main antagonist left the narrative with an open ending, lacking closure or justice.

Acting/cast (8.5): Lee Dong Wook's magnetic presence is always a highlight, serving as a major draw for me. Yet, beyond his charm, the entire cast delivered stellar performances. This marks my second encounter with Kim Hye Joon after "The Kingdom," although I admittedly couldn't recall her from there until I consulted her profile on MDL. Nonetheless, her portrayal in this series was memorable, particularly in action sequences where her performance felt natural and unforced.

Music (5): Unfortunately, I can't comment on the music as it didn't leave a lasting impression on me

Rewatch value (5): Typically, I don't find myself revisiting action series unless prompted by the release of a new season or a lapse in memory regarding the plot. While this series wasn't lacking in entertainment, it didn't offer any standout moments that would compel me to revisit it.

overall rate: I'd rate it an 8.5 out of 10. Despite the familiar plot elements, I have an inclination for this genre, and the proficient execution held my interest. Lee Dong Wook's involvement also adds to the appeal, and I'd be inclined to tune in for a potential second season, largely driven by his presence.

Why Autopsies Are So Necessary!

This is a fascinating look into the jobs of coroners and forensic scientists in Japan, where the fewest amount of autopsies are recorded of all developed countries in the world. Most death reported as “accidental” or by “natural causes” are never autopsied, thus leaving the door wide open for murderers. You can’t help but speculate how my deaths might be attributed to murder. Most bodies are cremated before they can ever reach an autopsy table, and there are many hurdles that must be jumped through, such as getting family consent.

Misumi Mikoto is the idealist coroner who firmly believes that her job brings piece of mind as well as closure and truth to the cases she works on. She works at UDI (Unnatural Death Investigations), a company subsidized by the government. They don’t necessarily work on police cases but as a private company that is paid by people who want further investigations done. She is the #2 coroner with a troubled past. While her job doesn’t pay much, she’s very good at what she does. She also tends to wear her heart on her sleeve.

Mr. Nakado is the #1 coroner of the group, and we find out that he’s been suffering in anguish for over 8 years since his girlfriend was found dead in a scrap pile. He somehow performed the autopsy himself (not sure how anyone would be able to do that). After finding a “goldfish” imprint inside of her mouth, he firmly believes his girlfriend was murdered and possibly by a serial killer. He tries to check every body he can find for the same “goldfish” evidence with the hope of catching the killer. He barks at everyone, notoriously renowned for calling people, “stupid.” He’s incredibly smart and gifted despite his sour demeanor.

Finally, we have Kube Rokuro who is the new part-timer, who has a desire to be a forensic doctor. However, we quickly find that he’s working at UDI under false pretenses (selling the secrets and stories of what happens at UDI) to a local newspaper, which acts more like a tabloid. However, after finding himself engrossed in the job as well as being smitten with Dr. Mikoto, we begin to wonder how Rokuro will be able to get out of his dilemma, if at all.

The series is an important one. Japan is a generally peaceful country where people try their best to live in harmony. They don’t like to “rock the boat” and will do nearly anything to maintain that harmony, even it means avoiding any kind of confrontation. However, true harmony can never be achieved by turning your back to what is going on; by avoiding confrontation. How can harmony be experienced at the expense of others? I can’t be. It’s an impossibility, and this is largely the reason why this show exists. With only 170 coroners in Japan, they’re desperately trying to get more as well as to change the government policies surrounding autopsies and why they are so vitally important.
While the serial killer story was a fascinating one, my favorite episode was actually the bullying, or as the boy rightfully called it, “Death by Bullying.” This was an especially powerful episode that brings a world-wide problem to the forefront. The UDI group race to solve the “murder” of a young high school teen in order to prevent the death of another. However, we quickly find that nothing is as it seems, and the school as well as the other students involved, realize their horrible mistake; allowing the bullying to happen. Yes, where bullying takes place, everyone is involved, and everyone is responsible. I truly hope people take this episode to heart.

There was only one season of this fantastic show, which is easily better than any “CSI” series I’ve seen, and should be given more seasons. I sure hope a second season is in the works! Not only is the science fascinating but you gotta love the people of UDI!

SAME STORY FROM THE OTHER BUT MANY LESSONS AND ENTERTAINING

I have watched so many dramas before and some of them were a Medical Drama like this one. I watched the dubbed version of my language so that I may understand it more. I am entertained of this drama from the beginning to the end, it gave me the excitement the whole time and wanting to watch and know more whats going to happen next from first to last episode. It was never a boring one from beginning to start , everything that left a question in my mind and I got curious about was answered by the end of this drama in short everything was revealed good until the end.
Since This is a medical drama I am curious why is it always that Korean medical dramas have this plot that there is someone who is a very talented Doctor who was thrown out from that famous hospital and suddenly comes back and always have a rival that is the Leader of the famous Hospital .. ? it is good anyways, but what I am trying to imply is that the story is somehow not really new to me.
Never mind the Acting, we all know that Korean Actors acts really different and convincing than of any other Asian actors and dramas our there, But I am quite disappointed to Master Kim by the last part, it was is good that he fought against President Do but he seems so relax so arrogant and seems think so much high of himself at the most part of this drama, and he even punched the President Do on the face but why was it the he was so late to speak about the truth ? --- that he was not the real reason of the failed surgery from 14 years ago ? I mean he should have used all of the arrogance he has and the confidence he was showing to his subordinates or team to clear his name ! why does he have to let Dr Kang and others left in state of having a question what really has happened in the past ? I was so impressed by Master Kim's coolness as he always does a good job in the ER and surgeries but quiet disappointed to what the writer has made him by the end.
And the Part where Dr. Kang finally knew that it was Master Kim decision why his Dad died , If I were Dr, Kang I would have never wanted to see Master Kim again like, of all the hardship Kang Dong Joo did , passing the board exam determined to be a good doctor because of Master Kim's words when he was a high school student-- all of it seems non sense and out of point, it was really heavy at the start but it suddenly loose sence at the end the he just accepted those truth and did not hated master KIm enough just because he is a Doctor and he understands everything why Master KIm did it. A About Dr Yoon I did not saw anything special about her here, she was just a Doctor who wants and dreams to join master Kim in a surgery and she is a good Doctor by the way.
All in all it was good not boring , the patient situations are really heartfelt and I cried many times watching them. I must say that every aspiring Doctors in real life must watch Dramas like this so that they would not just do their jobs but to do them with sympathy and that they also should have that one motto of being doctor.... it is to save lives no matter what,

Nice enough!

It took me a while to start this as I wanted to distance myself from these lead actors due to my familiarity with the roles they had played in Love and Redemption. Years later with a fresh (or forgotten) mind I finally pressed play and I must say it’s certainly not bad at all!

The leads are very likeable, both together and on their own. I liked the polar opposite personalities within Qing You, (her drunk and not drunk selves), and I liked the consistency in Mr. Mo’s personality no matter the circumstances. Their romance is very sweet and mature- no silly misunderstandings or needless temporary breakups. The side characters and side couples however are very disinteresting and I truly didn’t care for anything going on there.

It definitely could have done better with 24 episodes instead of 30, but overall I’d call it an average or fine show. I’d maybe only recommend it to people early into their drama-watching careers as it may fair better there. Once you’ve seen so much in this genre, shows like Love at Night can become/seem very disposable.

While it probably won’t stay in my mind for long, I was able to binge-watch it and enjoy it for the most part.
