hmmm.
starting off i would like to say this drama made me cry.
it sucked me in like a vortex before I knew it i speant atleast 22 hours watching this show.

the story basically is completely skipable until beeyachat gets older. lol.
it starts off where beeyachat a child at the time reading cinderella wondering if prince charming existed.
then they show us Monthai dressed in all white excited, because hes going to study in Austrailia.
he has a bitchy girlfriend wiyada. (whose ugly as faq)
due to some shit going down.
skipable shit. episodes 1-5
bee grows up being abused by wiyada.
During those years she writes to Monthai as Wiyada and sends him stuff which makes Mon feel obligated to love wee and only wee.(wow i wish guys were like that, id have married ken by now lol)
wee cheats on monthai and bee continues writing to him. taptim, mon's mom gets sick and asks for wee but wee being self centered heartless beach. sends bee.
bee is asked by aunt to pretend to be wee so that taptim gets better which she does. she finds out that wee isnt wee buts actually bee and is cool with it then enters monthai. i guess living in Austrailia made him crazy as shit.
because not only does he accuse bee of everything i am fairly supprised they did not do a sequence in where it rained and then he blamed bee for it raining and accused her of seducing the rain to rain. *DRAMATIC EYEROLL*
Pong plays his part well as P'Mon i coulnd help but secretly wish that Bee left for a bit leaving him alone would have served him right. and then he would have realised her importance.
The kid who plays Bee in the beggining was really good. though it was kind of gross the visible age difference.
Wee's sister i forget chicks name had the most beautiful eyes :)
Peung in this show was amazing she was beautiful she looked alot like an indian actress who plays humera in qabool hain on zee tv.
when she spoke of her self in the third person it was adorable.

i kinda wished they did a little more then a few innocent kisses.

though the ending felt silly.

Bee silly need to cover up all Wee's mistakes prolonged a story that could have finished like in 12 episodes.
lol.
scenes that began to get repetitive was all Mon's accusations.

kedchai was amazing though they had a plott flaw for a guy who comsidered himself as the consort of evil. he was good. wee's sudden long locks couldnt make her face any prettier. i have to say she acted well because i really dispised her, i spent atlease 10 minutes dissing her to my boyfriend who calmly pointed out perhaps i needed a break lol.
Also i did not understand how Mon sent Wee a digitilised pic of himself considering the fact that they were in the past.
the sweater she sent him was also not the same colour as the wool she picked up in the shop.
Tuptim looks so familiar.
Lakhanna was really pretty at first i thought she was going to be then NangEk.

I finally found the time to sit down and watch one of the most beloved thai tales,"Ngao Asoke". I have watched the original version from 1999 and loved it completely. This 2008 version actually made me less impressed,as i enjoyed it but didn`t come close to loving it.Pong Nawat brought out the life into the character Monthai Mahartawet, his optimistic smile just charmed me to my toes!I love his chemistry with Peung Kunya (although Ae and Ek had stronger chemistry) who played the golden-hearted Beeyachat Prakaiprik. It was the actress first and only female lead role,as Peung left the thai film-industry after its success.Beeyachat was so adorable when she smiled, but it frustrated me when she had to cry everytime Monthai confronted her.I know that she was tormented by her masters, and that she was learned by early age that being grateful is the most important thing in life. For that she always tried to protect the evil Viyada, despite her cruelty.

Monthai and Bee have an early bond that only grew stronger with time. With Bee writing letters and sending gifts to Monthai for 8 years when he was in Australia, when it was Viyada who was Monthai`s girlfriend and was supposed to do it.We all watchers can see that it is all along Bee,that Monthai truly loves. It also takes long time for him to realize it.I also wish we had more sweet scenes between Mon and Bee,they always fought throughout the story..and the few sweetness we got was so swoon-worthy!

As i have mentioned,i do prefer the original version starring Ek and Ae,just because they have way better and intense chemistry, and because Ek`s Monthai realizes earlier the bitchiness of Viyada, both Ae and Ek excuted the characters of Bee and Mon much better actually. We also got to see a wedding scene in the original version`s ending!

A Classic Story

Just finished all three lakorns of this story. In fact I watched the 1999 and 2008 twice! The warmth, yet intensity of the story is why I called it a classic. You can watch it 30 years from now and it will still resonate. Each actor/actress brought their characters to life. You could feel and touch who they were. And the angst they produced was perfect: not too overly dramatic yet kept you wanting more, wanting to jump into the screen and be there with them. The romance was the kind you long for, to read about, to envision. The ML couldn't help himself desiring to touch, to feel, to be near the FL and it was heart fluttering. I think overall I like the 2008 version the best. But both ML in the 1999 and 2008 were dreamy and alluring. I liked the FL in the 1999 version the best, but the 2008 version was very good too. You can't find a story and the overall acting that brings such an intensity, purity and passion like these old dramas. Everything seems so cold today when they try and remake something. Either they put goofy sound effects in or turn situations more comical that takes away the love story and passion behind it. The 2016 version completely lost its warmth and intensity. I was very disappointed. I think in today's culture they are afraid of offending someone so they have to water everything down. You can't even find this kind of passionate love story in America or Britain anymore. So I am very thankful for Thai lakorns and other Asian dramas. They have taken off where America has left behind. For all of you romance lovers out there, give it a try. The 1999 version isn't the best quality but the story has survived! Wish someone could re-download it with good quality and English subs!

TL;DR - waste of your time. If you're looking for romance, it's not here. ML is such trash. Only character I liked was Kadechai.

I stayed up all night finishing this lakorn not because I enjoyed it, but because I fell into the trap of "well maybe next episode, ML will find out the truth or the villain (I'll refer to her as bcb - bob-cut b*tch) will be exposed" which lead me to unintentionally finish up to the end.

I have to say, I see why some lakorns use this tactic. They get to air multiple episodes filled with bullshit but also dangle that carrot of hope in front of you so that you bear with the bullshit up until the end. While it makes loyal viewers, it is also lazy and so uncreative to have this many episodes with the same recycled crap over and over and then everything gets resolved/exposed in the last episode. I'm telling you now that you could watch up until 2-3 episodes after the time skip and then skip right over to the last episode - you really won't miss much in between and will thank me later. Even if things got exposed early on, I imagine that we would not get a good/engaging story line to fill the rest of the episodes, so either way it's a lose-lose situation.

I know slap-kiss lakorns of this era are a breed of their own, so I try to adjust my standards to the time period it aired. But this can only work if the romance is worth it, which it's absolutely not (I'd even argue it's non-existent).

I do feel deceived that the lakorn was so bad because the beginning was really great. Kudos to the child actress who played child Bee, cause she won my heart on how loyal she was to her grandma, her honesty and child-like optimism of seeing the good in everyone. The ML was a really good person too, and had really sweet interactions with Bee. That's why I was able to like Bee and ML for as long as I did because their character set up in the beginning was done so well. You could justify and understand their motivations and why they did what they did. But again, this understanding could only go so far because the lakorn was inundated with the same 2 cycles of abuse (which I will outline) that literally carried it to the end.

Cycle 1: Bee does something "scandalous"/gains favor from the ML mom/bcb complains to ML --> ML gets mad and goes to harass and accuse Bee --> Bee cries and tries to defend herself --> ML talks about how he'll never believe her + tries to assault her -->Aunt Jian or Mom comes in time to save Bee and tell ML off for trying to assault Bee --> repeat
Cycle 2: Bee gets something nice --> bcb gets upset and goes to harass Bee -->Bee cries and puts herself down to please bcb --> bcb hatches a plan to make herself look good and potentially kill off Bee --> repeat

I could get mad that bcb is such a horrible person. I could also get mad that Bee is such a doormat and ML (I don't even want to put his name down bc I hate him) is so stupid. But all of these things are what the characters brought onto themselves; bcb's actions are enabled by Bee always self-sacrificing herself and ML's blindness. ML for whatever reason wants to keep believing Bee is a terrible person. Bee herself believes it's ok to receive this abuse because she had been brought up to be grateful and help her "benefactors", and she lives to pay off this gratefulness debt.

Forget about the romance, IMO there's no proper romance. It's just the ML being aggressive and accusing the FL of being promiscuous but then always going back to bother her and feeling some sort of affection. Bee's affection for ML as her savior somehow turns into love, although this isn't really love bc she doesn't know any better. The ML also never apologizes or at least feels regret for what he did to Bee.

The saving grace of this lakorn was surprisingly ML's mom Khun Ying and Khun Kadechai. Khun Ying was the only character with development and turned from a nasty witch to someone who sincerely regretted her actions and had Bee's best interests at heart. I was very sad to see her die the way she did. Kadechai was amazing in that he was self-aware and despite being a gangster, he still had morals he abided by. I really wish he had exposed bcb earlier, but ofc that was not meant to happen.

I also really liked the side couple of Nuan and Pa, and how we saw them fight for their love. I wished they had more involvement in the main story. I also like the main theme song and the music was played appropriately here.

Overall if you can't tell already, I really did not like this lakorn and 100% would not rewatch. I also wouldn't recommend unless you want to waste your time. There are much better slap-kiss lakorns that won't take advantage of your sympathy and have much better payoff than this.

This is was my first ever thai drama i’ve ever watched and man till this day it’s still my number one favorite. It has everything!!
intense drama where you’re never bored of it... super captivating! the story is just so amazing and original. it always has you on edge. it’s funny, sad & a bit of horror haha but wow the chemistry between the two main leads is phenomenally!! You can genuinely feel his hatred for her in his eyes. Bee you could really feel her pain too. any time you’d see the two come together, you’re automatically locked in to whatever they’re doing because you never know what would happened. even you don’t like kiss/slap drama, this is still an amazing story because it involves other side stories as well!!
every single actor was great too...

Also the track song that plays with this drama??? It’s SO beautiful, i get so emotional whenever i hear it lol but seriously everything about this drama is PERFECT! :)
