Two girls meet on a train headed for Tokyo. The bubbly girl in white is named Nana and she sits next to a black clad rock girl named Nana as well. They talk briefly and seem to share some common bond, before leaving for their own seperate ways. When bubbly Nana looks at an apartment for rent in Tokyo, of course black clad Nana would be there and wants to rent the read moresame apartment. Instead of trying to decide who should get the apartment they decide to share the apartment as roommates. From there their bond grows closer as they help each other deal with their own personal problems.

Being a lover of NANA, I did enjoy this movie. although a lot of the storyline was cut out due to time considerations, the movie does follow the manga somewhat. I was impressed by the actress who played the main characters. I felt they displayed the different personalities very well.
I also love the OST. The music sang by Nakashima Mika were very inspiring and emotional I really enjoyed her performance.

I read more would recommend this movie to anyone, especially NANA fans.
Happy Watching :)

I know Nana thanks to the anime, which I love. Both, the movie and the anime are good. It is certain the movie length needs to cut out some threads and in my opinion, this is a great pity. I suppose I would be satisfied if they made a drama, which was true copy of the original.

However, I should praise the stylization and characterization of the main characters. They took read more care of every detail.

Of course, the music is amazing too. Now, I know many Itou Yuna's songs!

Both of these have a very similar feel and style, more than a little dark and serious at times, while delving into issues of friendship, love, relationships. If you liked the Nana anime or manga but didn't really like the movie adaptation, give Last Friends a try.

a heartwarming portrayal of female friendship of girls that are seemingly opposite of each other in looks and personality

First of all as a fan of both the manga and the anime this adoption was like mac & cheese without the cheese and of course the macaroni microwaved since you are in hurry. The movie "nana" is low budget, also low quality. The directing was below average, every single character expect for hachi was miscasted, everyone's including hachi's acting was terrible. Nana Osaki doesn't exist in the movie, the only thing they have in common with that girl with black short hair in the movie is their body and name.

This movie is so, so disappointing. I read the manga first and enjoyed the anime, I thought that the manga was better but then I watched this dull mess they dare to call "nana" im just amazed about how much you can manage to water down amazing series and characters.

3/10 pass this and go read the manga instead, if lazy then watch the anime just stay away from this

You don't get to decide whether people will watch this movie or not. It is fine that you didn't like it, but people do not have to feel the same way as you.

To be honest, this was good but I still much prefer the anime and manga over this.I liked the singers for the anime better and Nana Osaki here doesn't seem to have as much emotion like she does in the anime and manga.

The acting was horrible especially Osaki Nana and both the songs and singers' voices lacked in so many levels

I'll watch this when I have more time :) I watched the anime a long time ago and remember being affected by it for days after finishing it. Left me all depressed lol.
Really great story though. Wish the mangaka would continue the story....

Have not watched yet, but just watching the trailer makes me reminiscent of the anime and manga. I'll have to watch this some time! And hope I don't cry. ... I'll probably cry because it's Nana.
