This series is based on the 1987 American movie Overboard. Anna Jo (Han Ye Seul) is a rude, feisty, and audacious American-bred heiress who can never be satisfied. She returns to Korea only to continue being a controlling wife to her already cowardly husband, Billy Park (Kim Sung Min). When her yacht gets stuck for repairs, she hires local handyman Jang Chul Soo (Oh Ji Ho) to fix her shower, but when read morethey have a heated spat over her dissatisfaction and non payment, she pushes him overboard and dunks his tools into the ocean right along with him. Later, after a quarrel with Billy that threatens to end their marriage, she herself gets drunkenly pitched overboard and falls victim to a bad case of amnesia.

When I started to watch this Drama, I didn't have high expectations, since a lot of people don't like it.

In the beginning, I was totally annoyed by Anna's personality. She was just some high society lady, never satisfied with anything, always greedy. Oh Yoo was friendlier and more sympatic. But as the story continued, I noticed how special Anna is.
You may think she is just like all those spoiled young read more women that appear in a lot of shows and Anna really is. But somehow she has grown dear to me. I can't really say why. Her character developes during this Drama, but still she is very unfriendly to everyone. She experienced so much already, so she can't change this much anymore.
After completeing the Drama, I'm really missing the Anna who was always yelling and complaining. Just like Chul Soo's love to her my affection to her also grew. I just love the way she developed but still remained the same.

Even thought Anna was the main character and carried nearly all of the story by herself, the side stories were very amusing as well. They made me laugh several times, but still they fit in well since they had some dramatical scenes as well. I was disapointed because there were one or two scenes where the comedy part didn't quite fit.
Over all I think the comedy and drama parts were well timed and well balanced.

The music was also fitting very well, I seldomly enjoy an OST this much. I'm even listening to it at the moment (:

Overall I'd highly recommend this Drama. I'm sure it won't fit everyones taste, but to me it seemed very well balanced, except some scenes of a side story. Still I liked the whole cast, especially Anna and Kang Ja (her friend). The main story was enjoyable, so I'm considering watching the original movie, even thought I'm afraid that it might be a bit disappointing...

I seldom give a drama a 10 on 10. Because no matter how well a plot has been handled and cinematized there's always room for improvement. But in the case of this fabulous Hong sisters venture, I can think of no other way to improve the story. From the cast, to story, to direction, to solid comic chops, to acting, to music and plot and character development, nothing was lacking in this read more gem. Although to be truthful I'd have liked for the romance to be a bit more pronounced. But I think the subtlety of feelings the leads had for each other, was needed to suit the general mood of the story. Another thing-people who had started hating Han Ye Seul after the whole Myung wol The Spy controversy, please watch this drama and prepare to be mesmerized. The way she brings out Jo Anna's arrogance and pompousness and Na Sang Shil's innocent charm onscreen, is a treat for the senses. And Oh Ji Ho proves that a solid, toned body isn't all that he has got. He made Jang Chul Soo appear so genuine and sincere. MUST watch Hong sisters drama, and on some accounts I'd rate this even higher than You're Beautiful yes!

I enjoyed it more that I would've thought possible.I was really funny. The relationship between Anna and the kids was the best.

Just finished watching this and I'm glad it's over. It wasn't the worst thing I've watched, but there are better. Han Ye Seul has very expressive eyes, but Anna Jo annoyed me to bits and even Sangshil had her moments of being irritating. The 2nd lead girl got increasingly annoying (as they always do), but I couldn't help but notice how well the character was acted out and how pretty she was. I could've done without the secondary romance because it was a whole lot of meh. My absolute favorite character was Kanja. Adored her to bits! Chulsoo was adorable, but I actually had a pretty hard time getting into his romance with Sangshil/Anna. It just didn't work well for me. Loved his relationship with his nephews tho and even Sangshil/Anna's relationship with his nephews.

    Overall I'd rate this show a 6/10.

Just started watching this yesterday. I think Han Ye Seul is cute in this (her looks, not the character so far!), even prettier than Birth of a Beauty. And I didn't realize that Oh Ji Ho was in this before I started it. I just finished watching him in My Little Baby and I really liked him. Funny that he's working with kids again in this. :) I think he has a sexy smile!

Only good things about this drama was the scenery and Yu Kyoung... Everything else about this drama just wouldn't happen in a million years, including our lead giving up Yu Kyoung the 2nd lead female, just wouldn't happen, as much as in Overboard, it was wrong she was a married woman, her WHOLE personality changed, EVERYTHING ABOUT HER changed, not in this one, she was still a skank bitch straight to the end of the drama, sure, she said sorry and thank you, but still rude as ever, only giving this a 1...

Yeah, this is the one and the ONLY time the main lead so needed to be with the 2nd lead female Yu Kyoung, to even bring her into the drama was just a complete waste of time, even just for a filler's sake, what a real shame, a real doll, someone that would be with you for life and love you and cherish you for you for life, and they put him with a bitch of a skank woman, and she's married to boot??? Come on, get with the program already... Again, writers that don't know how to write a drama. Please find someone that can write proper drama's, I've yet to meet one that can, movies, yes, but drama's??? Here's a perfect example of a writer not knowing how to write... WOW!!!! So sad... The only way, ONLY WAY the writers could redeem this is by our main lead and Yu Kyoung getting together in the end, but we all know that's just not gonna happen, such a waste of a drama, such a waste.... Ending of ep11 is just so f'ed, so really f'in, that just wouldn't happen, none of this would happen up to this f'in point, wow, please find some good writers out there in dramaland, please.... I'm begging you!!!!! All this and the timing of the subs are all off to make this for a most miserable, frustrating, and annoying watch, that is for sure for sure......

Only thing wrong with this drama is that she's married, it would have made for so much better of a romance had she not been married, adultery, betrayal and the biggie, DIVORCE is so wrong. Her having a husband just really super cheapened this drama. It is so great watching the romance between the two build but is so ruined by the fact of knowing she's got a husband, and a husband that knows she's alive, both ways it is so wrong like Overboard, folks, SHE IS MARRIED!!!!! Give it up already... So sad the writers of both Overboard and this one had to use the fact that she's married, it's just a given how wrong that is... Anyone that disagree's and just don't care about the fact that she's got a husband is just messed up in the head, is sniffing pretty strong glue, and has a few screws missing, SERIOUSLY!!! Yeah, at most, on account of her having a husband and all, I can only give this a 4 tops, otherwise, it would have gotten like between a 7 and a 9, too bad... Yeah, I so don't like Han Ye Seul, so don't like seeing her acting as a real Bitch and a half, seriously, she was SOOOOOO much better in Will it Snow for Christmas, even then I didn't like her character much better in that one either, but at least it was a better character for her I found.
