Both are set in high school and have very over-the-top characters for satirical comedy purposes.

Both also have a lot of bromance in them and focus on friendship and school politics/cliques.

The same kind of over the top comedy with a poignant story and plenty of hot men and bromance Mamiya Shotaro is in both but he looks funny in Bokutachi but a total BABE in Teiichi.

Teiichi is comparable to Kaguya as both are elites who are proud, competitive and strategic in their plans. The difference lies in their motive. While Teiichi is vying for the position of becoming president, Kaguya, is ploying to make the President confess to her. They are also unintentionally funny, and that's one of the reasons why I like these two movies so much.

Note: If you haven't seen the anime of Kaguya-sama: Love is War, it is definitely better since it is longer (it already has 2 seasons). But of course, I still appreciate the live action.

Aside from having Nagano Mei in both, Makoto (Ryo Ryusei) reminds me of Teiichi (Suda Masaki) as a student leader while Matsubara reminds me of Dan (Takeuchi Ryoma).

They have different plots but the student leadership of the characters I mentioned were just similar, in my opinion.

-Characters in both are very extreme, the story is pretty extreme except it's gore in Litchi Hikari
-Many school boy characters and a girl character (side character in Teiichi)
- There's conflict about who is a better leader in both
-Similar grim atmosphere in both
