A story very delicate and sweet that is definitely worth your time.

I discovered Mydramalist a few years back but never got to signing up and becoming a member meanwhile I frequented the site so much and still do. I discovered On The Way To The Airport on this very platform and well this drama got me to sign up and become a member due to the strong urge of needing to write a review. My review mentions nothing relating to the drama but if it got me to sign up then that should be enough to tell you how worthwhile and properly woven this story is. Thanks to the writer, I rarely think about the writer behind a story/drama but this drama made me wonder who could come up with such an innocent, sweet yet very real drama? (98% could never). Well it's still up to you whether you'll watch it or not but PLEASE DO!

A mature drama tackling a prickly issue done well

The issue of infidelity is handled maturely in this thought provoking drama; it's an introspective exploration NOT a tawdry, women-slapping-each-other melo. I was surprised at how slow-paced and simple it remained to the very end. Every scene looked like it was filmed in that vintage sepia-ish filter which further contributed to the melancholy, bittersweet feel.

The two leads have a chemistry that "... makes glass tubes and halogen lights explode...", as one reviewer on dramabeans.com so accurately described. Frankly, if someone looks at you the way Seo Do Woo looked at Choi Soo Ah, you can die happy. Bit of an exaggeration there, but you get my drift. The other supporting leads were excellent too. Shin Sung Rok expectedly, nailed the part of an uncaring, misogynistic husband to Choi Soo Ah so much, that as a woman, I wanted to reach through the TV screen many times to smack him across the face.

I really enjoyed this series, it pretty much smashed all the familiar kdrama tropes and gave me something refreshing to watch and think about. As someone who is always looking for more mature dramas, I hope to find more like On The Way to the Airport.

I was surprised by how much I enjoyed this.

Slow, pensive, understated shows usually aren't my jam but this one hooked me right away. I was riveted by the first half especially. The show did a great job building the fraught but tender relationship between the leads while gently teasing the mystery of Annie's life and death. I also liked how the writer showed us the leads' self actualization and growth alongside the gradual development of their romance. I appreciated the perceptive treatment of the difficulty of obtaining work/life balance for working moms. The second half of the show was still good but sometimes erred on the side of being too muted and elliptical. In particular I think there needed to be more meaty, dialogue heavy scenes as the marriages definitively broke down and fewer flashbacks, montages, and scenes of the leads staring wistfully into space as ballads drone on in the background.

ON THE WAY TO THE AIRPORT é um drama regado a muita enrolação, um romance nada legal, personagens cansativos e indecisos e muita, muita, muita lenga lenga.

Acredite se quiser a melhor parte da história foi o maravilhoso momento em que eu terminei e me vi livre dessa tortura;

Em On The Way To The Airport todos os personagens são enfadonhos, sério mesmo, até a criança.
