Ok! For people who watched this drama and said it's not that good cuz we expected better but it's always like that or I'm maybe opposite what people may think.

Story:
Was quite interesting.

Actors:
A lot people said the main lead didn't have chemistry but I don't know why they said that or once again I'm opposite what others think...
I really like the chemistry between 2 main couples. NAM JOOHYUK and SHIN SEKYUNG were very adorable and also very romantic when they kiss. Krystal and Gong Myung were also very cute. After watching my lovely girl I really like her acting and before lovely girl I didn't like her at all (sorry for die hard fans). NAM JOOHYUK was very cute and adorable and hot as Habaek!! NJH improved a lot from debut to now. He is the reason why i wanted to watch this serie???? and the demi god uri IM JOOHWAN oppa did his job very well and I always like his character even it's evil. Shortly they did their job. I can't say it's very bad.

Music:
As usual the music fits it's story.

Overal:
I will give this serie a big thumps up for their effort. It didn't bored me at all... love all the sequence and the chemistry etc.

Please give it a try before posting bad review cuz of other reviews. Normally I watch selected dramas cuz I'm watching series for more than 10 years and I think I know what I'm writing and saying about.

I spend times reading reviews before watching cuz I don't want to spend time for nothing.

Good music, some well known actors, but it seems so artificial, as if they try new spec effects and don't care about plot and acting.
I watch this drama just to know the ending. I had big hopes, but they crashed after the second episode. You usually can understand if you want to watch a drama... however it did not give me any vibes so NO for rewatch ever again.

I can watch any genre if I feel the chemistry between the main characters. In this case, Oh my God, I can't feel anything!! Are they really acting? Why this guy always stands like he doesn't know where he is or what to do next or what's going on? And why this girl has always one expression in every her role? (I have seen 3 of them). When the script is not so good, the main thing is the leads! And what is going with NJH? He can't even kiss in this drama, think that he is the only one in this industry who has a girlfriend :) And one more thing-please, don't compare this drama to Goblin.the last one is still masterpiece in this genre!

It has a good lead, they do have chemistry but the storyline is boring and it could have been better. It was low pacing, they took like 13 episodes to finally reveal something, every episode was the same thing, the acting is pretty god, the characters I really didn't understand them, the writer had to make it a little bit clear , just better... some things don't even make any sense, I forced myself to watch until the end but it was really hard task. I love both actors(in real life) It's not their fault, it's just their job... I wouldn't recommend it to ANYONE. :)

The story line was so boring

I personally think that this drama isn't worth your time. I dropped this even though I am that kind of kdramaholic who has watched too many dramas to judge this one. Let me come to the female lead! She's one idiotic bitch. She always plays the victim card when she's the meanest and the most bitchy woman ever born. And she's thick headed too. When she sees that she's losing in an argument, she's gonna play her victim card and open the tear tap in her eyes, if I was in Habaek's place, I'd have never loved her! Gosh! She's so damn annoying! She should have been the villain and Shin JaYa would have been better off being the lead character. Then comes Habaek. Goodness! He's another spoiled brat! He's so upright about himself that he really doesn't deserve to be the King of Gods. Personally I think that MuRa and BiRyeom were the most beautiful couple there. I'm in love with MuRa's acting skills. And BiRyeom, my goodness! Isn't he the most charming personality out there!!! Over-all I think that if y'all just skip this one, y'all will save yourselves from unending frustrations in the future

I'll preface this by saying that I actually enjoyed watching this drama and would probably watch it again in the future. That said, it was also kind of a hot mess. The pacing of the story line was all over the place - both too slow, and too rushed, simultaneously. It seemed as if there were really two entirely separate stories being told here and the result was that neither one got the depth and development that it really deserved and one of them, after a lot of lead up, got dropped like a hot rock right before the final episode. Nam Joo Hyuk plays Habaek, the titular Water God, who is destined to become king of the gods, if only he can complete some pesky quests in the human world first - unfortunately, he arrives without direction, without resources, and without his powers. He meets up with Shin Se Kyung's Yoon So Ah, a psychiatrist who doesn't particularly like hearing about people's problems (seems like an odd choice of career given that), and who is struggling to make ends meet in her private practice. Oh, and who is also the last descendant of a family that was indentured to be the servants of the gods. Their story was pretty run of the mill basic romance line - nothing ground breaking or earth shattering there. The much more interesting story line for me as Im Joo Hwan's CEO Shin Hoo Ye, the half-god with the power of death. His story and character were more tragic and much more interesting. It was a shame that the story line got dropped so hurriedly at the end of the show. His was by far the most sympathetic character. Joo Hyuk's cold disdain as Habaek was off-putting in comparison. I do feel that this drama suffered from some of the lead up advertising pitting it as the next Goblin: The Lonely and Great God. Also, the producers flirted with these exotic fantasy elements, but continually shied away from them again like they were unwilling to commit to being that over the top. There were genuinely funny moments, also some genuinely moving moments, so I'm not sorry that I watched it.

i saw a huge amount of harsh reviews about this drama i was really surprised cause it's not that bad at all

first of all i had to admit it's a little bit shallow & full of flaws but in spite of that i found it really interesting, nice, delightful, Funny & so heartwarming
it has many scenes that 'll make ur heart beating strongly which is rare in many rom. dramas

it's really an easy watching drama
u can watch it when u need something doesn't need to focus with

the chemistry between the main leads was amazing
first time for me watching Both Nam Joo Hyuk & Im Joo Hwan i liked them so
specially im joo he gave me the feeling that he is a real gentleman ,a prince in his attitude, i liked him so
i really feel sad for him
i hated when the writer made both men r so good which make it hard to choose between them

Nam Joo Hyuk was an amazing actor he can delivers u the exact right feeling u should feel at the scenes

Gong Myung was a capable actor cause he made me really hated him so in this drama & at the same time feeling sympathy & like him

Mu ra was a real B**** i can't like her at any part of the drama from the beginning till the end

really u should give it a try, may be i did enjoy it much cause i watch it without any expectations so i think u should do the same
& u'll really enjoy it

The plot sounds very interesting right? Well you are right however the characters and the acting just ruined it all.

I'm not really a fan of fantasy but the plot sounded very interesting so I thought it was worth trying out as the first drama I watched with a fantasy genre in it. As my first ever fantasy drama I watched, I'm quite disappointed that this was my first. There are so much things that are wrong with the drama but there are some good things about this drama too.

The story:
I was very interested in the plot. The story line sounded like it was gonna be a great drama, however after watching it, the plot does not even make sense. Each characters made it very confusing to understand. I gotta say if you really found the story line interesting, dont watch it unless you want to be annoyed and finishing the drama in a confuse state. I kept asking why and why but no answer. Dont be fooled by the storyline.

The thing I'm most disappointed about this drama is the acting. I felt no chemistry between NJH and SSY. Dont get me wrong , I love NJH but not in this series
When I see romantic scenes in romantic kdrama, I would feel my heart race and thats when i know that there is strong chemistry between them. I get a flashback from their first meeting, then I would reminisce all the hardships they went through before they ended up falling for each other and finally became a couple. I didn't get any feeling at all when they kissed so I wasn't moved by their love story. Honestly I prefer the second lead roles' romance was more interesting and their characters really suit eachother well. I feel like the second leads had much more chemistry and more realistic. Their personalities really suited each other. A guy who causes trouble and a girl who is reliable and try to avoid him making mistakes that will get him into trouble. Now that is what I call amazing chemistry.

Overall, I dont think I recommend this drama. You will just waste your precious time and be disappointed.

To give some context, I was SUPER HYPED for this drama since Nam Joo Hyuk was announced as the lead and the manhwa storyline seemed promising. I literally had to force myself to finish this drama on 2x speed. I really wished they had made the water god a bit more powerful and a little less flimsy and useless. AND HIS HAIR.... I really wished I could reach through my screen and snip off that extra tuft of hair with a pair of scissors, it just... did not suit him. The storyline itself was a huge letdown, with nothing much to look forward to. (other then gong myung and krystal's characters. who had so much more depth and chemistry than the leads.

This series is ABSOLUTELY UNDERRATED

First of all, I don't understand all the hate surrounding this series.

Yes, it is conceded that the plot had so much potential. The groundwork and the overall premise of the plot, as well as the characters, could have taken this show to a whole other level. Think of Avenger's Infinity War's 'bring me Thanos!' scene. This series had every opportunity to do this. In fact, I waited for around 10 episodes for scenes like this, but it didn't happen.

Next, although I am a fan of both actors, I agree that NJH may not have been the best actor for this role. But hey, call me biased.

Despite what everyone says that the two had no chemistry, I beg to differ. There were scenes that felt natural and the two were really able to convey their emotions.

But aside from all of that, the plot was still good. It was not the cliche and predictable love story you'd expect. Both characters would go great bounds for the other. Isn't that what makes a good romance KDrama? Think of CLOY. The reason why so many people got so hooked on the series is because of how the two seemed to have an impossible love. Nonetheless, they went against all odds and we were all just cheering for them. This is what this KDrama is.

Aside from the romance, the other aspects of the show were good as well. The supporting actors were lovable and the story between the leading actress and her father was also heartwarming.

OVERALL, I highly recommend this show. Yes, it's not perfect, but it's still good!

It starts slow...

... but then the story really run fast. I loved the chemistry between the two main protagonists but still, it lacks in something. I enjoyed it but still.. As already said, something is missing here. The plot sometimes is messy, the side roles are not developed enough. I still have a lot of unanswered questions about the story. And sometimes I asked myself: what was that again? Why they are doing that?

Side note: he’s really hot and his voice so deep you’ll fall in love.. so I think that just by that, its worth the view.

Don't get me wrong, it was good...it just could have been so much better. The drama is very, VERY different from the manhwa...in fact it hardly resembles it at all, which was such a disappointment considering that I've been waiting for a live-action adaptation for FOREVER. While I did enjoy some of the aspects of the direction the production team took I have to wonder if the drama would have been more magical and unique had they stuck more to the original story (and I'm really not sure why they just didn't. Even if they had to make it centered in modern times). Nam Ju Hyeok though.....*fans face.* It's definitely worth a watch, just felt like something was missing and off the whole time. Bummer.
