This show basically is about stalking, so if you don't find stalking cute/romantic, then you will probably hate this drama. It takes the opposites attract theory to the extreme, but as the story progressed their relationship started to make more sense. I haven't seen the other versions, or read the manga, so I can't compare it. I wouldn't call Playful Kiss one of my favorites, but it is worth watching.
*beware of fan commenting, especially if you are unfamiliar with the story, because they end up spoiling everything!*

Full fun love story
It's more than good than I expected... full enjoyment from 1 to 16 episodes no crying. not too much jealously. cute love story. no heart broke left. everyone find pair.In beginning, I thought the screen looks too flat with no bokeh like high-quality camera effect. but after watching the story I just forget all technical issues and fall into this cute love story.
Another best thing about this story is not too many jealously shots. so no heartbroken or sadden. side pair is like salt to a food little added with care.
-cute pair.

Pathetic FL and A**hole ML
I am so disappointed watching this because I really like the actors and actresses. But the ML and FL characters were so upsetting to watch. FL was extremely spineless and pathetic. ML acted like a total major a**hole all the way till the end. He went beyond just cold and just straight up very mean. I mean seriously, saying to the girl you supposedly love that you rethinking marrying her, unable to show an ounce of comforting and loving gesture....I don't understand why she stuck around him. There's love and there's emotional abuse. During his supposed confession he didn't even confess. He just said she's not allowed to like anyone else but him, but didn't say he likes her. It's more of an order for her to continue being pathetic for him.Ugh just totally killed the romance for me as I couldn't root for this toxic couple and being very frustrated at the FL.

I have to say this drama is a hate/love one for most who watch it and I fall in the LOVE side. The things that bugged me in the first 2 episodes quickly got fixed/removed (like her daydreams) and from then on I was hooked. This drama has a very lighthearted and BASIC story line people so don't expect great turmoil and over the top romance. Its a simple love story that can truly happen..no crazy twists that make you go "only on TV".
What really hooks me in this drama is the cute/embarrassing moments that happen to Oh Ha Ni that make me cringe and giggle and hide behind my blanket for her sake. I love love that feeling in rom-coms and this drama has so many of them!! Jung So Min plays Oh Ha Ni so perfectly, if it weren't for her I'm sure I wouldn't have continued on with the drama.
I love a good drama like everyone else but I love me some silly too and this drama does silly without being stupid-silly (a fine fine line that's usually crossed making me drop a drama). It may seem crazy from our point of view that this girl is non-stop stalking our poor Baek Seung Jo but just when you think she's going too far, she holds back and restrains herself and just when you think she's gonna get over him, he shows her signs of hope and she's back to her obsession again.
I know a lot of people seem to hate it for the silliness and some people can't seem to get over the differences in PK versus ISWAK but all I can say is if silly bugs you and if normalcy bugs you then this drama may not be for you. I think its because I like J-dramas so much for the silliness and this drama was supposedly a straight adaptation of a Japanese manga that I am used to and enjoy that silliness. If you didn't like ISWAK don't ignore this drama because I couldn't watch past 4 episodes of ISWAK (I tried so many many times but I can't get over how weak the female character is in that one) and I still love this drama.

im writing this because when i watched this i tried to find people with the same opinions. i see so many comments about how much they like it. Okay like not trying to hate but the amount of times i wanted to drop this drama, and i watched this at a time when to me dropping dramas was not a thing.
this is like the first review i am writing ever. I've always read these reviews and comments and i just had to comment something for another show so i created an account but now because i have one i wanted to write a review and this drama stuck out to me for the reasons i will say below.
This girl is sooo damn anoying. i understand liking someone but what shes doing seems like anoying second female lead vibe to me. i like the FL actress ive seen her in other shows but this one just not it. and like the guy tf was he doing mid way leading her on n then just "dumping" her. TOXICCCC. and also sorry if spoiler but he does like her, but if he does y tf would u treat her that way. its not teasing just rude.
on the other hand for some odd reason, after i got through it a couple months later i found out there was extra episodes, so i rewatched some to remind myself about where it ended. To my surprise i lowkey enjoyed it. its why i rated the rewatch value as higher, for some reason if you already know how it will be you're not as anoyed with the way things played out because you know you'll be compenstaed later on, so i thought my original thought was too harsh, but then i watched the extra epsiodes n realized it was just as anoying and the only way i was able to get through the rewatch was bcs i already what would happen next.
anyways if you dont mind an anoying FL chaising constantly, blindly having a crush on a guy that shows her no intrests and actually embareses her than ya watch it.

This is one of those dramas I can't properly digest. It was annoying, frustrating, made me roll my eyes 19838 times, made me CRY (like three times), made me feel bad for the characters and judge them at the same time... I honestly don't know how to rate this, so I decided to combine both my opinions: the objective one that KNOWS this show is bad, and the subjective one that made me watch this until the end.I'll start with my objective opinion on this show and list some of the reasons why I think this was pretty bad:
-Oh Ha Ni is a terrible female lead. I'm not one of those people who analyse every detail of a drama and always find some form of misrepresentation or something else to complain about. I recognise that every human is flawed and, therefore, I don't mind a flawed character. But Oh Ha Ni... I don't even know where to start! How could she like the coldest person in the world, that kept being mean to her, kept rejecting her and hurting her feelings, and not even notice Bong Joon Gu, who actually did something to show how much he loved her? That isn't love, that's obsession. And honestly, both Ha Ni and Joon Gu were in the wrong for pursuing someone who wasn't interested in them. However, Joon Gu is one of the flawed characters I don't mind because he had some redeeming characteristics, such as his determination and the fact that at the end he moved on from Ha Ni and followed his dream of being a chef (something he worked hard for). Ha Ni? What did she do the whole drama apart from following Seung Jo around and being nothing other than a desperate girl? She literally- literally- studied to become a nurse just because her boyfriend was studying to become a doctor. Who does that? Did the manga writer or the drama director think that was a proof of her love? To me that's just a proof of how empty and dumb her character is. I know the actress did her best with what she had but I think the acting wasn't that great either.
-The plot is ridiculous. To be fair, I can accept the house's destruction and them living temporarily at the friend's house. But when they moved out, they literally moved back in in less than one episode!!???? I liked Seung Jo's mother, to be honest, but when she insisted that Ha Ni came back to her house, I had to stop myself from throwing my laptop against a wall. Is it weird that it upset me so much? I don't mind ridiculous plots (it's fiction, right?). But when the plot is so bluntly used to create this unrealistic (and creepy) relationship between the characters, I can't accept it because to me that's just lazy. Wouldn't their relationship be able to progress if they didn't live in the same house? Many things upset me about the plot, actually haha. The sudden wedding? I laughed out loud at how ridiculous that was.
-Huh... character development? Who is she?
Ha Ni and Seung Jo's relationship after getting married was even worse than before. I was SO mad at Seung Jo most of the time, I can't even put my anger into words. When they were buying things for their- ridiculously spontaneous- wedding, he refused to help Ha Ni choose and was obviously uninterested and kept complaining. If my husband-to-be acted like that he would stay as a husband-to-be because I certainly wouldn't marry him! I felt bad for the girl for like two seconds and then got mad at her too for accepting that behaviour. At the beginning, I was so excited for Seung Jo's development because I have a thing for cold characters who change their... douchebagness when they recognise their feelings and actually try to improve and be a better person. I was hoping he would learn how to respect Ha Ni and behave like a boyfriend/husband, but that never happened. I liked the fact he tried to encourage Ha Ni to do her own thing- well, do SOMETHING. He scolded her when she got bad grades and said some things that I completely agreed with (he reminded me so much of my boyfriend, whose name is Baek Seung Jae LOL). I don't think he was being mean: he just confronted her with her own mistakes and, even though he didn't comfort her at the end with a hug or warmer words (which he should have), in that scene I could feel he was trying to make her wake up and do something with her life. But then he manipulated her by using their marriage registration! That's disgusting to me! He has so much potential- one of the scenes that made me cry was when he took the initiative to visit Ha Ni's mother when everyone forgot about it (how?????). He was so cool when he stood up for himself when his father confronted him about his future and then when he took over his family's business and saved it. But then... argh, it's soooo frustrating. This is wasted character development at its best (or worst lol).
There are many more things that annoyed me, but if I mentioned them all I'd be here all day. With all that said, did I hate this show? Surprisingly, I didn't. I was certainly unsatisfied and, if I'm being honest, I don't even know what I DID like. But I'm trying to think of this show as an oldie and judge it for what it is: a cheesy love story adapted from a manga. Maybe I'll change my rating later (to way worse or way better- it depends on how it digests!). But for now I'll settle at a 6.5!
